Btw why do you recommend I read it ?

Modified

So the book shops didn't have the book , got an idea where I can get it ? embarassed but I don't keep the money I budget for a book so I went ahead to purchase "Prince" by Niccolo Machiavelli , read it ?
I saw that you were reading 'Why Nations Fail' do I decided to suggest Atlas Shrugged. I guess the book is a cure to a lot of Nigeria's problems.

What is the job of the federal government when Abj Kaduna rd is a federal road? Even the western bypass to the airport that is in terrible condition is a federal road.

Do you want the local governments to repair the road or what do you mean precisely?
I meant its not the job of the FG to rehabilitate the airport, that should be the responsibility of the local govt. This is goe things work in a lot of local govts.

israelmao:
If all countries are not like Nigeria they are not also corruption free or what would you say about the connivance the white with the black in Haliburton scandal?
There you go with your over simplistic world view.
First of all, not every country in the world is tolerant of corruption like Nigeria is. Yes, no system is perfect and can ever be fully corruption free due to human nature but the difference between Naija and some of this country is that they are willing to go to really great lengths to stamp it out.
In Nigeria, a lot of people won't mind if there politicians stole a little money in the side as long as he is "working" and you hear that stupid logic time and again. What the people fail to realize is that corruption is like a virus and that if permitted can bring down an entire system. (I.e most African countries). You are not supposed to let it breathe or have any place in your political or economic system. You have to stamp it out immediately and make sure that you create checks and balances so that it never happens again and not just look the other way like it is done in Naija.

Is there corruption in some deceloped countries, i would say that the answer is probably? but one thing i can guarantee you that its no where on the same level and magnitude as it is naija where people support and even protest when a corrupt politician from there region is being arrested. To think that some Nigerians including those in the Niger Delta still support Goodluck and Patience Jonathan is just unbelievable. Over here, when someone is being suspected of corruption people shun and avoid them. In Nigeria they would hold parties for them and say they are being persecuted.

Lastly, there are hundreds of millions of whites on this planet and they live in different countries with varying socio-economic and political systems . In simple terms, they are NOT ALL THE SAME!
Italy despite being maybe a majority white country is not the same as the U.S, Denmark or Germany. They are different countries with different cultures and different legal systems. So the corruption scandal between Halliburton, a company that did deals in Nigeria is hardly an indictment your overtly simplistic comments about "the connivance between whites and blacks" but between a company and some corrupt local politicians in Naija.

The Halliburton case was prosecuted by the the FBI back in the day and people were held accountable for their actions because its illegal for American companies to give bribe or gifts to any foreign official. That's an example of a justice system that Nigerians should emulate.

This is a flawed idealogy based on western peopaganda. To begin with the government is always getting involved in the free maerket...there is no such thing as a free market. The housing crisis was caused by govt intervening in the free market. Tarrifs, duties and outright bans are examples of intervening in the free market. Govt bailout of banks and Insurance companies in bothe the US and The UK tells you don't take everything you read in your economics textbooks literally. Uk govt still owns shares in many banks...why? What are Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae if not govt sponsired corporations...together they account for over 70% of all US mortgages. Yet these are the people preaching free market and we swallow whole. WHy does the US govt have to be the biggest mortgage provider.

Yes there is corruption but you don't throw the baby out with the bath water, Govt needs to (and indeed is the only one who can) establish capital intensive industries. Once established, privatise them but if you are waiting for Nigerians, you#ll wait forever because Nigerians do not have the capacity to do so.
Well, how well has statism worked in Venezuela and Brazil? How well did Tarriffs work for the U.S in the 30's? How well did U.S govt interference in the housing market in the late 90's work out? How well did socialism work in Cuba, U.S.S.R, North Korea e.t.c?

How long will it take for African counties to learn from the mistakes of other countries? How long will they learn that socialist and state driven economies mostly end up in failure? African countries and there counterparts in south america and the carribean never seem to learn their lessons that an economy where the state is the biggest drive of the economy is going to fail. This is something that a lot of western countries learnt decades ago and have moved on from meanwhile our African policy makers still seem to be doing the same thing that they did and expecting good results. In the words of Margaret Thatchwer, socialism has ended up in ash heap of history. Socialist/statist economics would always take a back seat to the free market.

Sorry to inform you people but Ajaokuta is dead (not that it even lived in the first place) and all the kings men and the kings horses can never put it together again.

DONSMITH123:
The rehabilitation of the new terminal building of the Kaduna Airport which will serve as alternative for both local and international passengers has begun.

This development follows the closure of the Abuja international airport for six weeks, starting from March 8, 2017.

The roads linking the Kaduna airport to the city are currently under construction.

On Thursday, the Minister of State for Aviation, Mr Hadi Sirika and Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, appeared before the Senate to explain the reason for the planned closure of the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport and why Kaduna is the best alternative.

Sirika, insisted on the closure of the Abuja airport which was constructed in 1982 as the runway has exceeded its lifespan of 14 years.

The Senate is vehemently opposing the closure of the Airport, saying the diversion of flights to Kaduna will endanger lives of Nigerians.

You truly don't understand what he is talking about do you? Immoral behaviour is not always the same as criminal behavior. This is not a theocracy for goodness sakes. If you want that you can move to Saudi Arabia. Nigeria is technically supposed to be a secular democracy where there are limits to what those in power can do or not do.

This is why people need to effectively be educated on what govt is allowed to do or not to do in a democracy.

Nigerians won't copy this act but, if the bride and groom decide to have sex in front of every one during reception , they will emulate that and start doing it coz oyinbos did it.
Thsee are things we should emulate, not one silly dude putting girls on leash and numerous fools clamouring for rights.
Nigerians always seem to adopt the worst part of Western culture. Instead of taking the best of western culture and adopting it na another thing dem go dey do.

Tell me, when has flaunting ones wealth ever being a virtue? Don't you know that when flaunts ones wealth that it attracts other people who want the same thing you have be it your hubby or your material possessions. I marvel at some people at times who purposedly try to stir up jealousy in their fellow human beings.

What you don't seem to understand is He was never arrested by "Ambode" but by the Lagos state government , but of course we all know whatever happens in the state, the governor is almost always responsible being the overall admistrative head. Same way people blame Buhari for Nigeria's current hardship wheareas it was an accumulated issue which we'll all have to face sooner or later.

Take a look at the bolded.. That's the judiciary mahn
