AdoraAmadi:
Guys, you all need to read this conversation between a Nigerian guy named David Ade @Dayveed_Ade and Manchester United news Twitter account @MUFCLatestNews which is being run by Paul Bienkowski, @paulbienkowski.

Before you start, please brace yourselves because you will be very offended by the time you are done reading this!

What happened was David Ade had approached @MUFCLatestNews for a job after he saw an advert the account published. They needed writers for their Manchester United news account.

David had some issues he pointed to @paulbienkowski only for Paul to blast him and say Nigerians are a waste of oxygen and flesh. Scum country, slowpoke!

You can start reading now.

http://www.lailasblog.com/2017/01/you-nigerians-are-waste-of-oxygen-and.html
I can understand why the guy was mad. Instead of the Nigerian boy getting to work immediately he is asking silly questions like what should I write and complaining that he or she does not have enough time as if part of being a writer is not cranking out articles in a short amount of time?

Very quick to judge the girl, but what about the adults who exploited her and used her as a maid? They are as devilish, satanic, possessed and bewitched.

In their death bed will they like it if their daughter was going to be exploited as a minor maid like this under the pretence of " we will register you at school"?

A child is a child abeg.

May God use the same standard you are using on the girl to judge you and deal with you.

I am not saying the girl was right, but the adults were equally evil.

If you wanna adopt a child adopt, but don't exploit a minor and use her as a maid.

THIS HAS TO STOP. CHILD LABOUR AND EXPLOITAITION HAS TO STOP.
I used to be like you back in the day, young and idealistic with the view that the world should be a utopia...then I grew up and realized that different countries have different economic realities that people have to face. So before you go labelling that family names and using Western standards to judge them how about realizing that different societies evolve at different paces and that there are certain parts of the world and situations that doesn't always conform to my world view.

Thank you very much.

I am even more shocked out my bones, that you are the only person standing up to question and point out the moral depravity of this beast who employs, no, enslaves a 10yr old child.

On sundays or fridays, this same bas.ta.rd will go to either church or Mosque to pray to his god.

He is lucky that this is an anonymous public forum, otherwise, I would have made a citizens arrest and then drag him to the United Nations for child slavery.

C'mon fellow Africans, Join us condemning this animal, and stop consoling him.

That 10yr child is the first victim of a use here.
Enslave ke? Do you even know what slavery is? Goodness! Do some of you people understand some of the economic realities people face? Oh you think this is the West?
I will admit that I used to think like some of you people when I was younger but I grew to understand that everyone's socio economic realities are different.

Dude you asked me if I knew all the places my mom breastfed me and I said well she definitely didn't do it on her wedding day that's for sure.

Also, I can guarantee you that my mom didn't do it with cameras in her face. I doubt if she wanted someone to show her unclothedness.

Finally, calling me an hypocrite doesn't make any sense whatsoever since I have never breastfed a child before with cameras in my face.

Thank God?!?!? are you sure this is God's will or her will?

This woman is on a rebound and trust me you do not want to date someone on the rebound. They are vulnerable and possibly still recovering from the breakup. She needs time to heal. I don't think this is the time for her to rush into a relationship talkless of getting engaged. When people are in this emotional state, they tend to make dumb decisions.

RomanceRe: Sex And The Single Man by davidif: 3:03am On Jan 12, 2017
airminem:
Nigeria men are spending a greater percentage of their lives single. There are many reasons for this, including divorce and longer life spans. Yet more and more men are also choosing to delay marriage. The median age at first marriage for a man has risen sharply from a low of just under 25 percent to its current high of over 40 today. This lengthened period of singleness brings great challenges to Christian men as they seek to live for the glory of Jesus Christ. I will consider a theological foundation for sex.
As i said, the biblical standard for your sexual behavior is that sexual intercourse is reserved for the marriage relationship that exists exclusively between one man and one woman so long as they both live.
If you are a single man, it is worth asking yourself, do you have an “It’ll happen when it happens” attitude? Is this a Christian attitude? Is it indicative of what God calls Christian men to be?
hahahhaha, story of my life. I am one of those “It’ll happen when it happens” type of people.

i agree though that the govt should sell shares of these companies to the public- however, singapore has a high percentage of sucessful state run companies- state run companies are not the cause of corruption- it can happen in private run companies- instability can be a cause- one govt destroys the other, records get missing, fights destroy records, poor infrastructure make records hard to find, easily misplaced, etc.

the only corruption we are dealing with are the ones whose records were somehow preserved.
plenty don pass under bridge.
It is one thing to loan a car company an amount of money. Its a completely different thing to take over ownership and run the company yourself.

Lastly, for you to say that the state run companies are not the cause of corruption is completely laughable. Have you ever heard of Gazprom? What of Petrobas that implicated Lula and his predecessor Dilma Rouseff? and let's not even forget our own NNPC.

Like the great Ronald Reagan once said "Govt is not the solution, govt is the problem".

PoliticsRe: Donald Trump To Attend Nigeria’s Oil, Gas Roadshow - Daily Post by davidif: 8:47pm On Jan 11, 2017
CEO1:
The incoming President of the United States of America (USA), Mr. Donald Trump, is billed to attend a roadshow put together by the Federal Government as part of efforts to attract investment into the oil sector.

Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Mr. Ibe Kachikwu, made the disclosure while unveiling his goals and those of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources for 2017 in Abuja.

According to him, “We are going to be seeking to attract investments and complete all the MoUs we have in China and India. We are looking to do a roadshow to the UK, we are looking to do a roadshow to the US with President Donald Trump coming in,’’ he said.

The Minister said Nigeria would exploit the relationship built by President Muhammadu Buhari in taking a roadshow to the UK and the US.

“We are going to accelerate Federal Government’s revenues, look into areas where we could have made more money, so as to support the 2017 budget financing.

“We are looking to draw on the relationship that the President has built over time. We are going to be conducting oil blocks allocations and marginal flow awards to try and raise money for the government,” Kachikwu said.

He assured that Nigeria’s refineries would be revamped to produce at 60 per cent capacity.

“We need to start the revamping of the refineries. The president has given us marching orders on that. We still remain committed on our goal of 2018 to reduce importation by 60 per cent and 2019, stop the importation of petroleum products substantially.

“Now, we are going to continue to focus on downstream issues. Although we have liberalised, there are still some challenges.

“We are going to see how we work within the liberalisation infrastructure such that we are able to take away the low-hanging difficulties.

“We are also going to focus on the Niger Delta. It’s been too long a lingering issue. We are going to be working with every aspect of the Presidency to try and find solution to this.

“On the other hand, we are going to run at a rocket pace. We have so much to do. First, we are going to firm up our policies, be able to gazette all our oil and gas policies and then pass the PIB,” he stated.

Kachikwu praised Nigeria’s “influential role” in stabilising oil prices, saying he expects oil to trade in the $60s for the better part of 2017.

Well he is also right on that point. Govt has no right getting involved in the free market. There job is to regulate and create an environment where business can flourish not to be getting involved in every industry. This is one of the greatest drivers of corruption in any economic system: state run companies.

Comments like the above was what destroyed Ajaokuta, the Western countries and their IMF/World Bank who were in a cold war with the Soviet Union who built the Ajaokuta Steel Mill advised Nigeria to rather buy cheap steel from places like Australia instead of spending more money to fully complete it and let the Russians have a foothold in Nigeria, our military rulers who did not understand much of international politics quickly bought their idea and get the project in a comatose situation.
The coupists failed to consider the long term benefits of having a vibrant steel industry, now another ignoramus here is advising us again to go to China and buy cheap steel again. The thunder wey go fire you still dey wear singlet.
Can't you differentiate between private enterprise and the govt? its not the job of the govt to be buying steel it should be the job of private enterprise.

And what is your alternative oh wise one. To continue importing steel that provides no jobs to Nigerians and eats up or forex?

The obsession with it is that no nation industrializes without steel!
I don't know what's worse, that someone actually wrote this or that 14 people agreed with it.

You cannot prop up a moribund industry artifically. its what I call alchemy.

If the fed govt truly wants Nigeria to develop, how about focus on making Nigeria a business friendly environment where commerce can thrive?
How about stamping out the corruption that is so endemic in Nigeria so that foreign investment can flood in?
How about creating stable institutions that people can trust so that this country can take the next step in its development?

No, they won't do any of the above instead they are trying to trying to be involved in free enterprise by trying to prop up a dead industry. Let the free market work!!!!!!
PoliticsRe: FG Allocates 4.3bn For Revival Of Ajaokuta Steel Company by davidif: 6:58am On Jan 11, 2017
omohayek:
Unfortunately, the answer is no. Ajaokuta was already an obsolete Soviet relic back in 1982, and steel production technology has moved on since then. Even efficient European and American steel producers are unable to compete with the Chinese, who have a serious domestic overcapacity problem, which they are trying to solve by dumping abroad.

Steel is a low-margin commodity business, and the Nigerian obsession with it just betrays ignorance and an obsession with prestige projects over economic realities. The truth is that the only people who have benefited from Ajaokuta over the last 40 years are politicians looking for an easy way to steal public funds.
Please preach it to the hill tops. This comment needs to be continuously reprinted.

Get it in your skull, this govt is very serious about reviving our moribund industries and has proved it with many actions.

E.g, Abuja Airport, many major federal roads such as East-West road, 2nd Niger Bridge, new fighter jets for the NA, just to mention a few.
He is right! Govts job is not to be getting involved in business. There job is to create an atmosphere conducive for business and to get out of the way. The govt should have sold this a while back.
