OP, what u copied only work in theory, which @|$0 made me conclude dt ure still single. In practice, nothing u wrote works. Once d marriage starts falling apart, little could be done..Moreso, there are things that happened that.leads to u isolating ur spouse, most of which u cant help.

E.g, My friend's wife is too heady and bossy and because she can cater for herself, finds it impossible to say sorry for any wrong she does. Rather she hibernates and stop giving him attention.for as long as she wants to punish my friend. Now, after sevral attempts to save d situation continuously hit d rock, my friend is.moving on with his life, though they still live together but nothing conjugal btw them again.
Great feedback.

NairalandDSS:
Most people get married in the hope of finding a partner with whom they can share anything and everything. Many hope to find their best friends in their life partners. Many get married thinking that they will never be lonely again, especially if you marry late in life. But, it is an unfortunate truth that many people do not find what they seek in their marriage. Many are left unsatisfied and lonely as their partner fails to understand them. This usually happens if you have a workaholic partner or if they were forced into marriage with you. Other times, your partner may not be aware that you are feeling lonely in the relationship.

Whatever be the case, it is not wise to simply throw in the towel and call it quits before trying to deal with the problem. In fact, loneliness in relationships can have devastating effects on you. You might tend to perceive others as less caring and affectionate than they really are. Here are some ways to deal with loneliness in marriage.

Ways to deal with loneliness in marriage are:

1.Take the initiative: In order to know how to cope with loneliness in marriage, you need to take the initiative and take down the walls you have built around yourself. Encourage your partner to do so as well.

2.Shared experience: The key to how to cope with loneliness in a marriage is to have shared experiences. This can be something mundane like taking the dog for a walk or going to the supermarket for a shopping.

3.Stand in their shoes: When the situation comes and you feel that your partner is neglecting you, try to understand their behaviour from his/her point of view. It may not be about you at all, he might simply be frustrated from work.

4.Do not blame yourself: In order to know how to cope with loneliness in a marriage, you need to stop blaming yourself. It is also a good idea to refrain from blaming your partner. Instead, work on constructive ideas to solve the issue.

5.Go on a date: A return to the times of your courtship is a good idea when you want to know how to deal with feeling lonely in a marriage. Go on a date at least once in every month and reconnect with your partner.

6.Be communicative: Open and honest communication is key in learning how to deal with feeling lonely in a marriage. When you start talking with each other, even trivial things, you pave the way to getting rid of loneliness.

7.A good listener: What is more important when talking to your partner is listening to him. While you learn how to deal with feeling lonely in a marriage, you realise that not everything is about you. Be an attentive listener to your spouse.

8.A time for each other: In order to know how to deal with feeling lonely in a marriage, set aside at least an hour each day to spend with your spouse. Leave the worries and responsibilities of your life aside and devote this time only for your spouse.

These are the ways to deal with loneliness in marriage.

Very educative post. A major reason people are lonely in marriage is because they didn't marry there friend. Friendship should be a major part of a relationship.

Obama had a thing against us....

*WHAT NIGERIANS SHOULD REMEMBER ABOUT FORMER PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA*:

1. He refused to visit Nigeria and flew on to Ghana.

2. He refused to assist us with the experimental Ebola drug when we had Ebola outbreak. Nigeria had to fight alone and we won.

3. He stopped buying Nigeria's oil for years. NIGERIA went from a supplier of 10% of US beeds to Zero.

4. He refused to classify boko haram as a terror organization even when advised to do so till they became top powerful and bombed the UN building in Abuja. Even after UN bombing it took two more years and 25000 Nigerians murdered for OBAMA to accept Boko HARAM was a terror group.

5. He refused to sell necessary much needed weapons for Nigeria to confront Boko Haram forcing us to fly cash all over the world to buy arms. This hurt Nigeria badly.

6. He interfered in Nigeria's presidential elections and did not hide his support for a particular candidate. Now he is concerned about Russia's interferrence in US elections what rubbish

7. He played politics of division by sending his Secretary of state Senator John Kerry to bypass the Southern Nigeria and hold secret meetings with only the 19 northern states governors and the Sultan of Sokoto. He went further to subsequently host 13 Northern Governors in the White House in Washington DC. Only God knows why he was trying to divide Nigeria in this way.

8. Even as we were sliding deeper into chaos and recession, and misguided Federal Government policies President Obama said our president was doing very well. Indeed after 5 million jobs lost, 11 currency exchange rates, inflation at 19%, a contracting, shrinking economy, he said doing well? How, he must have meant doing well for him Obama not for Nigeria or Nigerians.

For the above reasons and more, I and many other Nigerians say *good riddance to bad rubbish*

Whatever he did for Americans is their business. This is the Nigerian prospective. So Obama lovers can go eat their hearts out.

I am happy today has come

How can you run a successful industry in Nigeria when the environment is not conducive for one.

''From this day forward, it's going to be only America first, America first. Every decision on trade, on taxes, on immigration, on foreign affairs will be made to benefit American workers and American families. We will seek friendship and goodwill with the nations of the world, but we do so with the understanding that it is the right of all nations to put their own interests first. We do not seek to impose our way of life on anyone, but rather to let it shine as an example. We will shine for everyone to follow'' - President Donald J Trump

I am glad the US would stop interfering in another country's affairs. No more big brother USA. Their troops around the world would be returning home to help build their nation instead. I have a great feeling he is going to be a good president for the USA. No more political correctness nonsense.
And who exactly is going to fill that void when the United States retreats? cos i can assure you that someone is waiting in the wings to do so.

4. Trump’s An Isolationist. Trump’s foreign policy is a mixture of militarism and isolationism. His basic philosophy seems to be that America need not be pro-active on foreign policy – we should sit in Fortress America and build up our capacity, then strike when hit. Here’s his take on alliances, for example: “For many decades, we have…subsidized the armies of other countries while allowing for the very sad depletion of our military…. We have defended other nations' borders while refusing to defend our own, and spent trillions and trillions of dollars overseas while America's infrastructure has fallen into disrepair and decay.” These are not mutually exclusive interests. But Trump’s foreign policy sounds a good deal like Bernie Sanders’: why go to war when we can use that money building freeways at home? Trump believes that this philosophy is “America First” – but then he says he’s going to eradicate radical Islamic terrorism. How, exactly, does he plan to do that without taking a rather active role in the world? Delegate it to Vladimir Putin, who’s been supporting the chief backers of global state-sponsored terror, the Iranians? One of the great myths of American politics is that America can retreat behind its oceans and somehow maintain its safety both at home and internationally. But Trump’s anti-terror policy is likely to look at lot more like Bill Clinton’s – treating terrorism as law enforcement -- than George W. Bush’s. Here’s Trump’s isolationism in a nutshell:

We will seek friendship and goodwill with the nations of the world, but we do so with the understanding that it is the right of all nations to put their own interests first. We do not seek to impose our way of life on anyone, but rather to let it shine as an example.

Really? How about Iran? How about Syria? How about Russia? How about China? What happens when other countries’ interests conflict – and what do we do when that conflict impacts us, as it inevitably does and will?

Really?? What of the evils perpetrated in Nigeria? This is a country where there is so much injustice its not even funny. Your leaders are stealing your money, your govt oppresses its people, the wealthy oppress the poor, the police oppress there citizens, the lecturers oppress there students, women oppress there housemaids, husbands oppress there wives, doctors oppress the patients, pastors oppress there flocks. Oh and let's not forget soldiers bombing and killing its own people.

Everywhere you see its something bad. Today its head hunters killing people for rituals, tommorrow its armed robbers terrorizing people.

Instead of focusing on all this in your country you are focussing on yanki. Sorry to say but yanki despite its many flaws is not Nigeria.

By the later 1930s, most U.S. journalists realized their mistake in underestimating Hitler or failing to imagine just how bad things could get. (Though there remained infamous exceptions, like Douglas Chandler, who wrote a loving paean to “Changing Berlin” for National Geographic in 1937.) Dorothy Thompson, who judged Hitler a man of “startling insignificance” in 1928, realized her mistake by mid-decade when she, like Mowrer, began raising the alarm.

“No people ever recognize their dictator in advance,” she reflected in 1935. “He never stands for election on the platform of dictatorship. He always represents himself as the instrument [of] the Incorporated National Will.” Applying the lesson to the U.S., she wrote, “When our dictator turns up you can depend on it that he will be one of the boys, and he will stand for everything traditionally American.”

Disclaimer: This thread is not to insult anyone, it's just based in the few observations I've made and it doesn't also apply to every Nigerian guy. So take a moment to read before you release your venom(if this write up refers to you).

1) He is broke: The average Nigerian guy is Broke! Yes. It's either he has no job or he has a ridiculously low paying job. As a result of this, when their girlfriends make demands on them, they come on Nairaland to pour their anger and frustration over their inability to meet these demands. They tag them as hungry, money loving, gold digging sluts. And one way to know the jobless ones is that they spend a lot of time online on various social websites and it leaves one wondering when they actually work. The answer simply is, they have no jobs!
When i saw this thread i guessed money or lack thereof was going to be on the list and well i wasn't shocked. Naija is all about money money money.

Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, says President Buhari deserves to go on a vacation because even God rested on the 7th day after creation.

Speaking to state house correspondents after President Buhari's departure, Adesina said

"The president is going to rest. You know that God did work of creation for six days and on the seventh day he rested. So if God needed to rest, how much more human being? So the president is just going to rest and the statement we have released is straightforward. He will go on this leave and during the leave he will do routine medical checkups."

PoliticsRe: El-rufai Donates Land To Methodist Church by davidif: 10:55am On Jan 20, 2017
metroblogger:
Governor Nasir Elrufai of Kaduna State has promised to provide additional land for building of Methodists church in Kafanchan, Southern Kaduna

The governor who made the promise when he received the prelate of the Methodist Church Dr. Samuel Chukwuemeka Kanu Uche in his office also urged the Church not relocate from their present location.

He said: “I visited your church in Kafanchan after the violence. We are willing to give you another plot of land in Kafanchan, but please consider using it to build an additional church.

“We request that you do not abandon or relocate the church from your present site. Let us not succumb to the agents of blackmail and division.

“Your neighbors in Kafanchan must accept the right of that church to remain there. The current church should be rebuilt and maintained as a symbol of the right to worship freely.”

Malam El-Rufai said that the government is committed to securing the area and promoting a return to normalcy.

He disclosed that 10 mobile police squadrons are now deployed to the affected local governments, along with two battalions of the army.

He further requested that the religious leaders should discourage the tendency to allow criminals to hide behind religion.

“When individuals have problems or disputes, they should not be allowed to mobilize emotions by escalating their differences into an ethnic or religious conflict.”

Malam El-Rufai thanked the Methodists for showing solidarity with the people and government of Kaduna State in this trying moment.

Earlier in his remarks, the prelate of the Methodist Church Dr. Samuel Chukwuemeka Kanu Uche urged Governor El-Rufai not to relent in his quest to restore peace and security in southern Kaduna.

Dr. Uche, who was speaking when he visited Malam El-Rufai in Kaduna, told the governor that he should take the blames flying around as the price of leadership.

“We note that you are being blamed over the violence in southern Kaduna. Please take that as the price of leadership. We know that the issue has been happening before your government. I remember the 1987 events vividly.

“We call on the people of Kaduna State to accept each other, to be tolerant, and to say no to violence. I have served in Kano. I do not see why we should fight each other. Nobody can Christianise or Islamise Nigeria. Let us learn to live together in peace. Religion should preserve lives. Anybody who kills is a criminal. Those who sponsor killings should be arrested.”

Dr. Uche, who was accompanied by the Methodist Bishops of Kaduna and Kano, said he came in solidarity with the people of Kaduna State. He informed Malam El-Rufai that the MedtodistChurch in Kafanchan was vandalized during the 19th December 2016 riot in Kafanchan. He requested for a new plot of land so that they can relocate the church.

“My church is affected by the violence in Kafanchan. We want your assistance with land to relocate the church and to rebuild it. We thank you for the plots of land you allocated to the Methodist Church in Abuja. I have seen your signature on the certificates of occupancy, and I know that you have nothing against the Church.”

Why should govt own land? It should be in the hands of the people instead.

Then the solution to that should be that the federal govt should increase the marriage age to 21 so as to avoid that. The more women are educated, the more empowered they are to make there decisions and chart out there own fate without having to rely on a guy.
