SportsShould FIFA Reduce Africa's Spots At The World Cup. by davidif(op): 9:17pm On Jul 27, 2014
Based on the results of African teams in this world cup and in the past, wouldn't it be a better idea for FIFA to take one World Cup spot from CAF and give it to another confederation that is more deserving.

Please, let us be objective. No arguments with sentiments, just present your facts ( you can support it with statistics.) angry angry
RomanceRe: Have You Eva Felt This Way? And Is It Normal? Is There Any Myth Surroundin It? by davidif: 8:39pm On Jul 27, 2014
Kinkybraids: You are not weird...I have felt this before. Its like this feeling of love that is to come. Sometimes when I feel like this I just instantly feel so happy and hopeful that I know that Ill meet this person. For me its not a specific person but a feeling that is to come...Its like Im waiting in love if that makes sense. The only problem is that its dangerous because sometimes you meet someone hoping its the person your heart is seeking and immediately fall in love with the idea of them that you created before you met this person... I hope Im making sense huh .

For me personally its a feeling of hope of what is waiting for you...but my problem is how to cross off people that arent this person that your heart is craving. I find it very difficult to tell
undecided
This means that you really have to pray haaaaaaaard for discenment so that you make the right decisions. Its very critical.

Who wrote this post in the first place? A military propagandist? Based on his writing, you would think the Nigerian army at some point were the second coming of the Roman army.

LMAyedun: IN ATTENDANCE:

Alh. Aminu Maigari (President); Chief Mike Umeh (Vice President); Chief Emeka Inyama (Member); Mrs Dilichukwu Onyedinma (Member); Alh. Ahmad Muazu Kawu (Member); Chief Effiong Johnson (Member); Barr. Christopher Green (Member); Hon. Shehu Adamu (Member); Alh. Muazu Suleyman (Member); Mr. Ayodeji Tinubu (Member); Alh. Yusuf Ahmed ‘Fresh’ (Member); Chief Felix Anyansi-Agwu (Member); Hon. Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande (Member). Secretary, Musa Amadu, also in attendance.
Shouldn't this list consist of former football types?? All i see here are bureaucrats and other politicians.

This list should be comprised of ex internationals and this should not be limited to Nigerians only but also include foreign visionaries with fresh set of eyes like Johan Cruyff, Franz Beckenbauer, Aime Jacquet and even ex-coaches like Phillippe Troussier, Bonfrere Jo and Clemens Westerhoff.

Having a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds in the football governing board would go a long way in improving our football. Afterall, there is nothing wrong with having the best of all worlds.

PoliticsRe: Picture Of Young Sanusi, His Grand-dad , Bello And A British Diplomat by davidif: 3:17am On Jul 26, 2014
CHAIRMAN1: THE YOUNG LAD IN THE PICTURE ISN'T SANUSI L. SANUSI

In a bid to make Sanusi’s ascension to the throne look immaculate, there’s a mischievous image lauding/laundering campaign going on.  This is evident from the Specimen picture I've attached.

The picture has been in circulation online since yesterday. And People are saying the little kid in the picture is Sanusi Lamido Sanusi being introduced by his Grandpa, the then Emir to the British Governor General. It shows how everything has been politicized. A little background check should have been carried out before this hogwash went viral.

If you look closely, the name of the Prince is Muhammad Sanusi Um**(maybe Umar).

I think the guy in the pix is the present Emir of dutse. Dutse was formerly a part of the old Kano state, his name approximates to the name in the old paper. Only Um** is missing. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi is way off the mark from the name in that paper.

The paper refers to the British man standing as Sir James Robertson. James Robertson was the second Gov. General of Nigeria and he reigned between 1955 and 1960. So it means that picture was taken on or before 1960.

Sanusi's profile tells us he was born in 1961. So he wasn't even born when this shot was taken.

So our friends in the APC need to do some background check before spreading misinformation.

It didn't take me up to three minutes to look up all of this.

This goes to show how gullible Nigerians can be as we tend to swallow everything the media throws at us; hook, line and sinker. In these perilous times, laziness to research shouldn't be an option.

Ok, repeat after me, I will never fall for cheap propaganda (say it again, 101 more times)
Wow! Excellent research!
PoliticsRe: Picture Of Young Sanusi, His Grand-dad , Bello And A British Diplomat by davidif: 3:10am On Jul 26, 2014
Symphony007: you forgot to mention that nnamdi azikiwe was also the first president of nigeria in @Missmorine. His position as governor general was purely ceremonial and a ruse used by ahmadu bello and balewa to give the south a sense of inclusion. Yet people like azikiwe still worked assiduously to get the republican constitution which caught nigeria's ties with the british monarchy. Left for the NPC... Elizabeth ii would have remained our head of state.
And wouldn't that have been much better than the guys we've had for the past six decades?
I don't know about you, but I will prefer Margaret Thatcher to the likes of Abacha, IBB and co.
PoliticsRe: Picture Of Young Sanusi, His Grand-dad , Bello And A British Diplomat by davidif: 3:02am On Jul 26, 2014
Symphony007: When asked if he thinks nigeria should be independent, this is what Ahmadu bello, the then most powerful man in the north and leader of the NPC had to say.

"Self government for nigeria could only be demanded when it's meaning was fully understood by the masses of the country with things in their present state in nigeria. The northern region does not intent to accept an INVITATION TO SUCIDE"

This is how low he thought of nigeria and our ability to govern ourselves, yet upon independence he and his party dominated a government thy never believed in. He and his party were british stooges. No wonder he and tafawa balewa were british "knights" while azikiwe and awolowo were'nt. I saw this quote recently and it really disturbed me and gave me a glimpse of the genesis of nigeria's problems.
Was he wrong for saying that? Hasn't history proven that the man was quite right in his assessments?
Christianity EtcRe: Marrying A Pastor; A Blessing Or A Curse by davidif: 2:51am On Jul 26, 2014
ayoku777: Although let me just also add that the blessing in marriage has nothing to do with whether you married a pastor or a politician or a doctor. It depends on whether it was the Lord that led you to that person, or led the person to you; and the individual spiritual maturity of the parties involved.

So instead of bugging your mind about what you think you want in a man; like he must be tall, he must be yoruba, he must be a pastor and what not; focus on being led of the Spirit, and on developing your spiritual maturity.

If the Lord leads two people to eachother, they will match, even beyond what they could have done on their own. And if they remain matured in the Lord, the marriage would work. That's what makes any marriage a blessing and a success; not whether he's a pastor or a politician or not, as your topic insinuates.
Man, I had to come back to this post again because this is soooooooo me right now. I really, really need this. No wonder this word has been in my mind since I read it.

FamilyRe: Pampering Of Kids; Is It True Love For Kids Or Misconception Of Love? by davidif: 9:21am On Jul 20, 2014
It is clear misconception of love. I guess it comes from the desire for each generation to want to overdo there parents or over compensate for something they didn't get from there parents while growing up.
Some even believe in the myth that they can create the perfect childhood for there children. How wrong they are.
FamilyRe: Pampering Of Kids; Is It True Love For Kids Or Misconception Of Love? by davidif: 9:14am On Jul 20, 2014
ITbomb: As for defending your child outside, basic instinct would push me to defend my family anywhere but when we get to the house, you would have to bear the consequences of why you got yourself into that situation in the first place.

For a 22 bringing a girl to sleep over in the father's house. If he is the first son, I would hold myself against any action that would push him away from me or the family but my child would always respect me and the honour of the house.
Its this attitude that is slowly unraveling the moral fabric of our society. This misguided sense of 'love' is really going to cost this generation big time. I grew up in the era where if you went to your friends house and misbehaved, they scolded you and punished you. Then when you went home and your parents found out what you did, they gave you your own punishment and probably sent you back to your friends house to apologize.

Now you have this twenty first century Nigerian parents who in there distorted view of love or parenting decide to support there kids as if that makes them good parents. Have you guys so quickly forgotten that "it takes a village to raise a child!"

If you think that defending your child in public even if they are wrong is good parenting, then you are very wrong. You are indirectly teaching him not to recognize any other authority in his life besides that of his parents which is a really bad and short sighted thing to do.
