BaddieKay: Do Nigerians pay the kind of bills the Americans pay?Am nt saying they shouldn't pay you oooh, bur is this TAN ish genuine?!!
And talking about graduates who re robbers, even if you pay them 50k most of them would still go bk to the streets to hustle..you can't tell me a graduate turned to armed robber jx cause there's no job,is there also no business they can venture into?Stealing is self decision,it doesn't mean there no other ways out.

And until they start paying the graduates,I don't believe their crap....And I think you are the one who needs to enlarge and upgrade your thinking*you hv ur opinion and I have mine,so mind Urs*
I truly don't think you have a full understanding of the situation in naija. the situation over there seems out of control.
It seems you have not been to naija for a long time.

GlorifiedTunde: The Church is not one anymore. But after some while of meditation, I figured that God already knew all these and so we can't blame Him for creating a lady in a family that goes to Deeper Life. So if God made you there, then there's a partner for you there.
What?? That's a terrible and overtly simplistic conclusion. You are mistaking your thoughts for God's thoughts. That is hubris.

tandj: Do not be unequaly yoked with an unbeliever is what is keeping many people single today, especially ladies.

Pls go back and reread ur bible very well.
Don't pick one verse like most of us do and give it a vague interpretation.

Pastors will tell ladies don't marry outside ur church, rather bring him to us.
Catholics will tell their gals don't marry non catholics. Infact, catholics case is the worst. Ur mum whom happened to be a christian mother(catholics know what I mean)is excommunicated from receiving holy communion and membership of christian mothers association(d inside caucaus of CWO). And since they value their membership more than their daugher's happiness, they will compel their daughters not to marry outside catholic church.
That's why we have so many of them littered everywhere.
Anglican, infact all d churches are very guilty of this.

So my question is, is marrying a christian outside ur church violating that so called verse"do not be .............

I pity gals that have fallen victim of this.
A man can afford to marry at 50yrs. So gals, go figure.
Wow! So this abuse really takes place in the church? Na wa o.

Yes o. I hate when people try to spread there bitter experiences to the rest of the world and poison peoples minds. Why don't they keep there experiences to themselves and not poison us.

Besides, who actually knows exactly what happened in the author's family except for the two parties? One thing i have learned is that there are two (or more sides) to every story.
FamilyRe: 'Honor Thy Children That Thy Days May Be Long Upon The Land' by davidif:
zboyd: A lot of Nigerian parents do not know anything about parenting a child; their mentality is that you should raise a child the way your parents raised you. This approach involves flogging the child
WOW!!!!! So children should not be flogged again? This is one of the reasons why i don't like this website, they always post stories about extreme situations. Its always about one sided black or white stories. I guess its supposed to appeal to the simple minded.

The writer might have had a rough upbringing but does that mean that parents should now start a power sharing agreement at home with there kids?

The problem with people who grew up in identical situations like the writer is that they tend to swing to extremes when they become parents. It's either they become as harsh as their parents or tilt to the other extreme and become over-doting, over-permissive and over-loving just so that they don't become like their parents who they grew up hating. Either way, both extremes don't usually help in raising wholesome children.

Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child but the rod of correction would drive it away from him.

FamilyRe: Adichie’s Feminism: Vacuums And Fallacies By A. Gonzaga by davidif:
Goodness!!!! what's with the personal attacks on Chimamanda Adichie? This writer just needs to chill.

Before i watched her speech at TED on feminisim, i heard so much about it. Most of it bad. After watching the entire thing, i thought it was one of the best speeches i had heard in a while. What a delight. It was simple and yet profound.

The writer could have simply disagreed with Chima without sounding petty and angry. What a way to ruin what could have being a good rebuttal.

obailala: From your arguments so far, you have been trying to convince me that the degree of corruption and also the widespread nature of corruption obtainable in every facet of life in Nigeria is EQUALLY obtainable in countries like France, Italy, Spain, UK, US etc... I am afraid I do not agree with you at all. In fact, I find that to be a very laughable conclusion on your part and I would need an entire lifetime of convincing and brainwashing to even consider your argument. I also do not wish to continue with this discussion.
Abi o. I am too stunned and tired to even reply to some of the comments that I read on nairaland. It is so annoying to read half truths or jumbled up facts from the pseudo intellectuals of nairaland. You don't even want to respond at times, because you might have to write an epistle just to correct there erroneous comments: valuable time that one doesn't have. So you just simply ignore them jare.

BT 2014 world cup both Nigeria and Algeria cum qualify past group stage 4 Africa Na DAT time u cum dey tink of reducing the slots

Na joke o pls dnt take it personal Abeg biko ejo
See naija man reasoning. Using outliers as the average. So because on country makes it out of the group stages in every World Cup except this one, that justifies Africa's performance in the World Cup?
In every world cup, only one African team has made it out of the group stage (1/5).
Since when has 1/5 (20%) become an acceptable ratio?
The only time two African teams made it out of the group stages, it required referee assistance and now folks are talking as if we did it primarily on our own.

adconline: Dream on! Naija always using outliers as average. OBJ is an absurd example. How about that child selling "pure water" on the street? Literacy level in Naija is 60%, meaning only 6 out 10 Nigerians can read and write. Nigerians you see abroad are the best Naija has to offer, but it doesn't mean that everyone in Naija is like that. About 70million Nigerians can't read and write.
Gbosa!!

SportsRe: Should FIFA Reduce Africa's Spots At The World Cup. by davidif(op): 1:14am On Jul 29, 2014
Syenite: It is not only about how the different confederations perform, number of countries in each confederation is also a factor.

To your question, I think based on Africa's performance in d last 2 WC: Ghana Qfinal in 2010, Nigeria and Algeria 2nd round with Ivory Coast narrowly missing out in 2014, Africa deserves 0.5 slot increament.
How? A 6th African team to play a play-off with the Oceania winner or the 4th team in Asia (I.e reducing Asia's slot by 0.5 due to poor performances in d last 3 WC)
You made an excellent point in your first paragraph but I highly disagree with the second one. Africa had six slots in the last World Cup and ONLY one made it out of the group. It was such an awful performance.

The truth of the matter is that since the tournaments expansion has barely done anything to justify its 5 spots and please let's not hide behind Ghana's heroics. Let's look at the overall picture. African football has been the least performing in the tournament.
SportsRe: Should FIFA Reduce Africa's Spots At The World Cup. by davidif(op): 1:05am On Jul 29, 2014
arsetalks: I sincerely think our slot should be increased and not reduced. It is not as if Asia has done better than us?
Really? They have had a semifinalist before. Who has Africa had?
In the previous World Cup, they have definitely outperformed us. We had to wait till 2014 just to get two teams make it out of the first round. That's really poor.

RomanceRe: Have U Ever Dated Your Coursemates, pls Share Your Experience by davidif: 1:51am On Jul 28, 2014
Tallesty1: Really? So you must wait to love someone before giving them a chance? SMH! Love is a feeling we don't know, it comes in on it's own if we allow it so if you see someone who loves u then allow yourself to love them back. Give them a chance and you will see yourself beginning to love them. I don't know where and how you got the theory that you must love them b4 giving them a chance,
Omo, see Nigerian reasoning! How could you date someone you don't love?? Is this how relationships work in Naija? Dating somebody out of pity? Una dey try o. ATTRACTION IS NOT A CHOICE. For the most part, you can't help who you are attracted to or not attracted to. It's just the law of nature bra.

Krasid: Like theplanmaker said, the only continents that have performed better than Africa are Europe and S.america which are over-represented.So it should remain the same.
Don't just look at this World Cup, it's a small sample size. Let's look at the results from 1998 till now and tell me which continent has been least deserving.
SportsRe: Should FIFA Reduce Africa's Spots At The World Cup. by davidif(op): 11:02pm On Jul 27, 2014
theplanmaker: I'm of the opinion that Africa even deserves an extra slot to boost our chances. its not like Asia is better than Africa, and Europe and south america are over represented as it is. the concacaf region is not much better, so abeg leave Africa
I said no sentiments bro. Be objective instead of being biased towards one side. If you are going to state your opinion, then back it up with logic son.
Give me figures like Africa's win percentage in the World Cup since 1998 (when the world cup expanded to 32 teams) as compared to the teams from the other confederations. Show me each continents performance side by side and compare them to Africa.
I mean it's not hard to do some research and find out that for the first time ever, two African teams made it out of the group stages meanwhile Asia has had a semi-finalist.
