Benita27: Op, I doubt the authenticity of this story. Some people make up all sort for attention or to paint something bad. The so called Mile one market is dominated by Igbos but it's not Igbos that buy their goods, and people don't get harrassed for the reason he gave.
He should say something else. And you know all this How? How do you know it could possibly not have happened. |

he is a self seeking man always trying to rewrite history after the fact in his favour
he has had a hand in most of the coups of this country and he is a major part of the military decisions over the years that have resulted in us being a failed state..
Only a useless country continues to give people like him a voice and name institutions after them Not only obj o. They even celebrate guys like Jonathan and his cronies. |

realborn: Lol@ your opening remark.
Please read my posts again. Why should Obj bask in the pains of others? It is on the heels of the criteria he chose to compulsorily retire these officers that elicited my reactions. He has no moral justification to publicly boast about terminating the career of others on the premise of suspicion because he is guilty of being a beneficiary of a. coup himself, and purportedly plotting a coup under Abacha, hence the "if Abacha had killed him" line, being the seemingly just treatment to coup plotters. I do not question the motive behind the action. I question his unrepentant demeanor.
It would have been more honorable if he used the opportunity to duly identify with the officers. Abruptly ending the career of an officer who has meritoriously served for 30 years within 6 hours can be psychologically damaging, boasting about it almost 2 decades after is humiliating.
Finally, true soldiers keep the affairs of the military covert. Obj is the only good politician in his own books. I will take him serious the day he shares his shortcomings and not that of others.
My 2 cents though... Bros God bless you jare. Imagine kicking people out of there houses and boasting about it. |

realborn: Summary: The criteria for his action to retire affected officers- 1. If ever involved in a coup 2. If ever benefited from a coup. 3. If ever given political appointment where free food and perquisites were enjoyed.
Obj should have retired himself too. He was the beneficiary of the Dimka 1976 coup.
Obj is very narcissistic and self serving.
The tactics may have worked but it is inappropriate to indirectly vilify these affected officers who bore no guilt at the time they were unceremoniously retired! As in?? How can you just throw out people who gave so much to their country and cast them.to the streets just like that? |

realborn: My last paragraph addresses your query.
If Abacha had killed him on the premise of a purported coup (whether true or untrue), he would have never been Nigeria's President at the advent of the 4th Republic. The motive he shared and Abacha's action would have been the same - Security Purposes.
It is wrong for Obj to self-service and revel on a decision that affected almost a 100 families having devoted several years to active Service. They bore absolutely no guilt as no evidence of wrongdoing exists. His inglorious account will only cause further unrest within the rank and file of the Military, and animosity towards the Civilian Government.
A wise decision worthy of emulation will be to cite the pertinence to retire these officers for security reasons but with adequate compensation for the remainder of their outstanding Service years. This motivates over the tale of having them turn-coat within 6 hours.
My views though! Gbanm!! How could you just unceremoniously fire all this people who have given most of their lives to.the country. How classless. |

Romance › Re: 5 Places To Find Rich Husbands In Lagos by davidif: 5:43am On Aug 13, 2017 |
deturla: It is the dream of many Nigerian ladies to find a rich husband before the age of 30. Although not many will openly admit this, because they will hide behind the guise of being independent and not ready to settle down. But as soon as they meet a rich guy, they are ready to throw caution to the wind and find ways to make him propose to them. Some of them even subscribe to blogs that provide information on how to attract and keep a man. Well, if you belong to this category of ladies, and have been finding it difficult to find a rich husband, then maybe you have been searching the wrong places. Below is a list of places where you can find a rich husband in Lagos:
1 Protea Hotel Ikeja
Protea Hotel Ikeja is a place where modern styles meet the needs of comfort. There is no way you visit this hotel and stay at the lobby without running into some rich guy. Everything about this hotel speaks sophistication and class and it no doubt attracts people who enjoy the luxurious lifestyle that comes with a grand place. As such, if you are having difficulty meeting a rich husband, be sure to visit this luxury hotel in Lagos.
2 Murtala Mohammed Airport
Murtala Mohammed Airport (both local and international) is another place where you can meet a rich husband in Lagos. The rich man you desire to have as a husband most likely runs a business that may require him to travel from one place to the other within the country and outside the country. As such, if you take regular visits to the airport, you will no doubt run into someone who fits into exactly what you want in a man. So, if I were you, I will look for a reason to visit the airport regularly whether I have something to do there or not (winks*).
3 Piccolo Mondo Restaurant
Piccolo Mondo Restaurant is an exquisite restaurant in Lagos that attracts a high caliber of guests day in day out. Finding a table in this restaurant can be quite difficult if you are low on cash, but well you will do yourself so much good if you find a way to get yourself a table in this restaurant. After you have gotten a table for yourself, be sure to smile often as this brightens your face and make you appear approachable to your potential suitors. The mere fact that you are spotted in a place like this will make the men interested in you.
4 Oriental Lagos Hotel
The Oriental Lagos Hotel is another great place to find a rich husband in Lagos. Even though the hotel has been in existence for sometime now, the class of people it attracts has not changed over the years. In fact, the reception area is always full of people from all walks of life. But be careful not to end up with a married man because many of these Lagos married men always appear single. Remember hell hath no fury like a scorned woman. You don’t want the wives of these rich Lagos men coming after you with all they’ve got. Even if you live to tell the tale, I am sure the encounter will not be a pleasant one.
5 COZA Lagos
It is a known fact that people no longer go to churches because they want to fellowship with God, there are many other reasons why people go to churches these days. Depending on the size and location of the church, you are bound to meet someone that suits your criteria. Common Wealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) is one of such churches where you can find a rich husband. Many rich young men find their way to COZA to worship every Sunday. So what are you waiting for? Get your decent church clothes, moderate heels and be ready to “lift up your holy hands” in COZA next Sunday. You might never know who is watching you.
Feel free to add yours!

Please what is wrong with looking very dark everyone? Are we not all in Africa? Is the sun not suppose to naturally tan us? what is wrong with us?

You want to know why i am wailing look at this thread

The self-hatred is real. Black people who are just few shades away from the man below using insultive words to shame him...and at the end, themselves.
Were our foreparents not dark/very dark? Are we born white or red? No we are all black with different shades of skin.
Shaming someone for being very dark by calling them black or kiwi or ugly is shaming yourselves and your race because like it or not you are black too. Whether you are chocolate, caramel, yellow or high yellow or red bone, you are black.
If black stands for ugliness, you are ugly then. And our slave masters were right when they called us black monkeys. My sister we need a conscious movement to change people's minds in this continent. |

An Independent or non-partisan politician is an Individual politician not affiliated to any political party and stand as an independent candidate in an election, which is alien to Nigeria’s electoral practice. Abeg o, they should adopt it asap. The earlier the better. Hopefully Nigerians aren't forced to chose between two horrendous parties anymore. |
