Some Churches/Religions are strictly Old covenant-themed: leading people astray!

Nevertheless, MANY Preachers/Churches are Subtler and even MORE DANGEROUS OR WORSE OFF, because they are always MIXING the NEW and OLD COVENANT messages; especially for "Profit or Moneymaking".

They cleverly SELECT some verses of the old testament to justify their Popularity and MONEYMAKING techniques, under the ROOF of the Gospel.

Examples of those old covenant teaching are about FIRST FRUITS, TITHING, etc. They won't say anything about Ceremonial laws, or Physical CIRCUMCISION, holy days, and even the Ten commandments, and so on. Of course, because the latter ones have got NO MONEY/Popularity INVOLVED.

It's hypocrisy or a deception to obey only A PART of the law and not the whole. (See Gal.5:3-6)

The Solution and Truth:

For the law was given by Moses, but GRACE AND TRUTH CAME by Jesus Christ.

Moses = the Law (Ended or Fulfilled in Christ):

Jesus = Grace + Truth

Grace = forgiveness of SINS through repentance.

Truth = Works of faith: Obedience to Jesus according to the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John (and the new testament in general).

When you read the old testament (Law/flesh), always read with the Spirit of the New testament (the Spirit/Love/Truth/Faith/Obedience to Jesus).

Christ is become of NO EFFECT unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are FALLEN from grace.

Jesus was trying to introduce the NEW covenant to this Old covenant man. The man's mind was on the Ten commandments, but Jesus had a greater commandment in Mind: Law of the Spirit: LOVE (love God with everything, and your neighbour as yourself)

Antichrist simply means AGAINST CHRIST. The Bible warns that there shall be arrival of MORE AND MORE Antichrists in the last days.

Little wonder why many BIG Pastors/Prophets/Religious founders of Churches and other religions are working tirelessly AS WOLVES IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING TO DECEIVE MANY, and LEAD them to greatly FALL AWAY.

Alas, many Pastors/Prophets we admire so much today are either consciously or "unconsciously" against Christ (they are Antichrists). Simply because they are gradually leading people astray as a result of their LOVE OF THE WORLD: the love of Money and Popularity.

We have been warned about the Great FALLING AWAY of Believers before the Coming of the MAIN ANTICHRIST:

These pastors/prophets will achieve these through GREAT SIGNS AND WONDERS (Matt. 24:24); TEACHING wrong doctrines like once saved, ALWAYS saved; teaching PROSPERITY: the Health and Wealth gospel; taking SINS lightly, etc.

If we do not want the Truth of Jesus, we shall surely be caught out by THEM.

It's time to Repent and Obey Jesus according to the books of the New testament.

The Bible says that in the Last days, it will be difficult to be a Christian. 2 Timothy chap. 3

Difficult because of Sins, which is as a result of diverse temptations on the increase. Also, the love of the WORLD and Money won't encouraged people to live for Jesus:

God doesn't tempt anyone, but he allows the devil and any man or woman that is subject to the devil to tempt other people.

[14] But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

God uses temptations to expose the evils in our hearts. However, we must be careful not to be AGENTS of temptations ourselves.

6 But if you CAUSE one of these little ones who trusts in me to FALL INTO SIN, it would be better for you to have a large MILLSTONE tied around your neck and be DROWNED in the depths of the sea.


Temptation in itself, of course, isn't a Sin. Even Jesus himself was tempted. Matt. 4

Whereas, YIELDING or ACCEPTING temptations is Sin.

Jesus was tempted: at one point, a thought flashed through his mind: "Jump down from a high place..." And the devil even USED a Bible verse to backup the temptation. But Jesus by the Holy Spirit resisted it by quoting another verse. Matt. 4

Likewise, we get tempted by the devil and people that are subject to the devil even today, and it's always either we choose or say Yes or No. It might even come from a religious person: a believer, pastor/prophet or founder of a church.

If we fall, the major problem is NOT the tempter, but the root of Evil in our HEARTS.

Today, the devil and temptations are very very close. You don't even need to get out of your room to commit Fornication or Adultery with the EYES. We have people willing to do anything to get us pissed off, etc.

We can't possibly stop people from tempting us. How would you help every woman or girl, dressed seductively or having other attitudes, to NOT continue to make men fall into SIN? Also, how would you help all the filthy images that pop up while using the internet?

The solution is to deal with the ROOT in the heart: by seeking God for LIGHT AND POWER through proper Repentance. So as to escape the damnation of Hell.

If we do not love and fear God, we can't overcome SIN and satan.

We are to diligently TURN AWAY from Evil. And seek to Obey Jesus according to the new testament books.

The kingdom of God is to be taken violently and by FORCE.

If we humble ourselves, and choose to TURN AWAY and FLEE from temptation, we shall overcome. Otherwise, we Fail: fall into Sin.

First, I would like to make something clear here, I don't HATE anyone (not permitted to), including these "great" Pastors/Prophets and other common Religious Leaders of which I have stopped following. And neither am I envious or jealous of anyone: I'm not a Pastor/Prophet, and I'm NOT willing to become one "unless" I get CALLED. The main purpose of this writing is to set people free from the deception of Men: the Truth sets free.

Second, I may not go in detail so as not make this rather too long.

That said, let's take a look at some common Lies OR Unrealistic practices and believes in many churches today:

1. Your Problems and Sicknesses are MORE dangerous than your Sins:

Yes, this is not usually said verbally, but would be realized in the impressions you get from the preacher's long sermons and stories on healing and deliverance. Jesus and His apostles majored more on Repentance of Sins in order for people to ESCAPE the damnation of HELL.

For some reasons, Jesus don't heal everyone today (he did heal all at a time to fulfil the scripture, though) Matthew 8:17. Even the apostles were not always healed when they got SICK, and they didn't heal all the Sick of their time either.

If you are Sick, pray and pray, or even get the Elders to pray for you if possible. And if you are not healed immediately, ask God for light on it, but make sure to get rid of SINS, in any case.

5. If you are NOT rich, you're under a curse, or something must be terribly Wrong with you, because Jesus wants you to be very Healthy and Wealthy: Godliness with contentment is great gain.

God determines the financial status and every other thing in every person's life.

6. You were Not healed because you didn't have enough faith: Sometimes, it is even the preacher's or elder's Faith that is needed here, not of the Sick person. James 5:14-15

And as said before, Jesus don't always heal everyone, sometimes he allows Sickness, Trials or Troubles to discipline and sanctify his children: like he did to Job, Paul and the likes. 2 Cor. 12:7


7. If you do not pay your Tithes, things will be Tight for you: First, in the new covenant, we are to give 100% of ourselves to God (total surrender) Luke 14:33, and to give cheerfully in general.

Many preachers will even make LONG sermons or stories on it to move people. Yet, Jesus and his apostles preached Giving not Tithing: remember the widow? Jesus said she gave more than the rich!

Jesus was talking to the Pharisees in Matthew 23:23, NOT to His disciples, as some try to use this to justify Tithing.

Therefore, IF you are a Pharisee (an Old covenant hypocrite), you MUST tithe! And don't forget to keep all the Ceremonial Laws and the likes in Deuteronomy and all that as well.

I hope you are not a Pharisee, though.

Many don't even pay the tithes cheerfully, but sometimes imposed!

I agree with you. It is wrong for the OP to CONDEMN GOOD WORKS and attending CHURCHES. Jesus summarized the whole commandments. Love God whole-heartedly and love your neighbour as yourselves. In loving God you must obey his commandments on giving and tithing and doing good works so that the world will notice those and give glory to God. Definitely the bible is clear about how one can gain salvation so I don't think so issues should not arise about that. Now a new believer will need the church to strengthen his faith. So he needs to attend church service, learn from others, and challenge himself in certain areas as he grows his new found faith. Doing all those things in Paragraph 2: doing good, going to church regularly, paying tithe, helping people etc are signs of being born again (The bible charged us to them). Those things in themselves will not make you to be born again (you earn salvation by grace through faith in Jesus).

Hmm, you misunderstood or didn't get the message altogether. I very much doubt if you did read through properly; and many others too.

You said I CONDEMNED good works; but did you notice I mentioned OBEDIENCE to Jesus according to the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John; and Pressing On to PERFECTION?

And if I'm truly against Good Works, Why would I Create a post to Glorify Jesus in the first place? Let's be rather patient before reacting.

The point is many believers are deceived by common Leaders/Churches, not majoring on the PRIMARY thing--Obedience/Holiness, while focusing more on the SECONDARY--Religious Activities of Organized Churches (of which are not really CENTERED on Jesus, BUT the particular BRAND OF EACH CHURCH, in most cases).

Concerning attending of Churches: Many Pastors/Leaders are not examples of Jesus in their LIFESTYLES (I don't mean Perfect BUT Christ-like), particularly when it comes to MONEY AND POPULARITY with the World...

It is extremely difficult to find a Christ-centered local church (gathering/fellowship) these days. It is so because of the pattern of the contemporary or common church system. This is a system where the religious organization is run: structured and managed like a Business Organization in the world.

The CEO or founder and his subordinates recruit workers, plant centres/churches and manage branches all over...

Frankly, the apostles of Jesus of old (Paul and the likes) didn't run the churches they planted like that. The apostles didn't act as CEO(s): collecting huge tithes and offerings; building luxurious churches, schools, houses; living luxuriously in general.

However, they did serve as Spiritual Fathers to them; and wouldn't tolerate Sins or Compromises: Worldliness, Political correctness and Trying to be cool with people or the world.

Now, here is the problem with our churches: the moment something goes wrong with the head (respected men at the top), it spreads to all in the system like the plague, except the few like the Berean Christians who are diligent with the words of Jesus (according to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), and are FULL of the Holy Spirit.

For instance, if the Pastor/Prophet/Pope wakes up one day and says, "Okay, as from today, Mary was born without sin, so we can pray to her". You guessed right! Almost everyone in the system will say, "Amen".

OR

He might get up and say, "Right, once you are now saved, you are always saved: you can Never Fall Away! (like the devil told Eve she would Not Die before eating the forbidden fruit). And they will reply, "Amen". Etc.

They won't even resist because that's what they wanted to hear, and the CEO is not stupid to offend his customers or potential ones, and never to do something that would spoil his BIG business!

Back to the Question---to forsake the gathering or Not (as the Bible says):

This is a personal thing to each one: to seek Jesus personally to be sure.

Nevertheless, in my experience, as much as I believe in the gathering of brethren (a local church), I know it can be quite striking to hear that it's been over five years since I stepped away from the "regular church system".

"Huh, but it says FORSAKE NOT the gathering..." Yes, I strongly agree! Remember, the devil told Jesus, "it is written...". Jesus knew something was wrong. So, He replied, "it is ALSO written..." Matthew chap. 4. Likewise, in my case, it is ALSO written to TURN AWAY from those with a form of godliness without the power. 2 Timothy 3:5

My advice: Before you continue with your church, study the Bible, especially the new testament very well, and seek Jesus in prayer on whether to "Not forsake" OR to "Turn Away" from them.

This my generation is funny.
If you want to preach please go ahead, pointing fingers in whatever direction is not healthy because in all fairness everyone had their race and judgement to receive differently. Remember judgement will be as each person's work is.

Also I need to add that all the good works you mentioned above are good provided the reason behind them is a good one. You cannot be saved by not loving the things of God. You can't love anything by not visiting or giving.

We focus so much on the few fakes that the bible already said will come instead of trying to wrk harder so the world will see our good works. Remember anything fake destroys the credibility of the original.
