Y0ruba: 1. If Bini were indeed smart, they would retain their hold on Ondo, Akure, Owo when access to superior weapons became balanced. I mean a true test of powerhouse is when valour is shown even in the face of balance of power. How are you a power house when they you bullied crushed your entire army for life with their first access to guns? Bini were & are still not a smart set of people. You & your ilks here keep displaying that.
2. Indeed, it is ridiculous that you want to say a wars are fought and won with superior firepower & I had to tap your brain back to the wars of today. You make careless statements and it is part of your low level of intellect.
3. Bini outlived? Bini wey nor fight half of wars wey Oyo fight not even reach capital of Oyo in size. Talking about outlive . Your junior brother travel pass you & took risks more than you. You hide for corner come dey talk outlive when your younger brother dwarfed you in all things? What a shame.
Ilorin was a Yoruba affair.
- Alimi’s son born of a Fulani never ascended the throne. The son’s descendants are struggling to be allowed to get on that throne till today.
- Alimi’s sons who now rotate the throne were born of a Yoruba woman from Iseyin.
- Aole wanted Afonja to attack Apomu, an Ife land. This was a taboo & all his chiefs lost respect for him because of it. Aole took it further and ordered that Aole attack his own mother’s town & that evaporated the little respect all his chiefs had for him.
- Afonja’s father was an Igbomina man. Afonja then decided to start a town in the outskirts of his father’s Igbomina hometown & be a king rather than be a subject under a disrespected king.
- Afonja built Ilorin & everyone went there to start a new life. Mostly people of Oyo and then the Hausa, Kanike & Fulani slaves spread across present day Yorubaland.
- Afonja became power-drunk and alienated all his Yoruba co-conspirators who wanted Aole’s power to shrink.
- Alimi came into the picture & they became best buddies. Alimi died & his son who was Yoruba on the mother’s side wanted to rule. He found ready allies in those Afonja alienated while some like Solagberu stood aloof.
- Abdusalam took power & opened doors to more Oyo people to settle in Ilorin. This is why Ilorin is highly populated by those who have their family compounds to Oyo.
- Afonja’s example of starting a town influenced other Kings of Western Yorubaland and they all began to decalre independence.
- Subsequent Alaafins wanted to revert to the old patterns but these Yoruba kings who have enjoyed certain degree of autonomy & what came with did not wat to go back under anyone, not even the Alaafin.
- And in order to avoid a confrontation, these kings agreed to go to war against Ilorin in support of Alaafin but they also sent support to Ilorin which helped in the defeat & death of a few Alaafin.
- Some Yoruba kings also employed the Ilorin problens to effect the death of their fellow Yoruba kings whom they had scores to settle.
- Prior to the British, everyone regarded Ilorin as a Yoruba town and throne as a Yoruba throne such that Ibadan, Ekiti/Ijesa & Ilorin became the power houses in Yorubaland. In fact, the Ilorin kings exchanged gifts and messages. The Ilorin kings did not dress like muslims until much later. And the Yoruba soldiers who conquered Ilorin army in Osogbo & Okuku/Inisha were largely muslims.
- The British came, grouped Ilorin with the MB then North & that changed the game. Ever since, Ilorin people & Ilorin throne have continued to pursue a religious identity similar to that prevalent in their geo-political space.
- Till today, Ilorin is populated largely by people from old Oyo. And they regard their king as Oba not Emir.
Thus, Ilorin is not lost. It is in the hands of Yoruba who have let religion confused them a bit. When the day of regionalism comes, you will see that Ilorin question will be answered without violence. If you like keep shouting and ranting.. Benin is still regarded as a mightier kingdom than Oyo.. You keep shouting Oyo, Oyo only ruled over its fellow Yoruba kingdoms. Benin on the other hand ruled over different kingdoms and people.. Benin started expanding and conquering its neigbors without the use of fire arms.. Guns made us more powerful but before that we had already started conquering Yoruba lands.. In pre-colonial times there was no states separation.. Most of Eastern Yoruba was regarded as Ekiti land and Great Benin conquered all of it.. Many of your rulers there today were set up by Benin Kingdom.. You can keep lying.. Google is a friend to everybody and all Benin conquest is available there and it doesn't favor Yoruba.. |

Y0ruba: Uncle
1. Both your sources were written by Yoruba men. When do you intend to start posting articles written by those of Bini origins? Can’t find any? Would you take offense if non-diplomatic Yoruba attacked you by saying ‘Binis depend on Yoruba for everything including sources for their own history?’ Just kidding
2. If you took a deep breath and read the page you screenshot & and the text you posted, you would see that the towns Bini invaded before in Ekiti are to the south. Apart from those added during state creation, there are 16 kingdoms in Ekiti, Bini invaded about 6. If you look at present day Ondo state, there are several towns in between Bini & Ondo town, several towns between Bini & Akure town. All sources are quiet about Bini’s presence in the go-between towns. This can be interpreted to mean they were not conquered. Do you not think this would make Bini’s grip on Ondo town & Akure town difficult to sustain?
3. Both papers including the one from Prof. Akintoye agree that Bini’s invasion was not for conquest or empire building. It was rather to protect Bini’s long distance traders & consequently Bini’s economic interest as can be seen with Lagos when Bini traders were harrassed & soldiers were sent from Bini to protect them along the coast in Lagos. Bini was not expanding an empire, it was, like the present day USA protecting her economic interests & citizens by planting military bases on places of interest.
4. All articles used so far agreed that Bini’s activities were limited to south of Ekiti, Ondo town [not the entire Ondo state] & Akure town. All the articles also agreed that these towns revolted, murdered Bini traders & a war of re-invasion to quel revolt broke out.
5. All articles agreed that Bini lost control of the towns, attempted to take them back but failed. Prof Akitoye who used several sources mostly from Europeans [see footnotes in the document] stated that the introduction of guns into the interior changed the game & Bini army was defeated in southern Ekiti, Ondo town & Akure.
6. This goes to show that, like Ijebu controlled the trade on the coastal town of Lagos, Bini also controlled trade in the coast and as a result monopolized guns which the Bini army used to achieve her several invasions until her previous victims laid hands on guns too.
7. In essence Bini’s invasion was an unequal warfare. Bini brought guns to a bow, arrow, spear & machete fight. Nothing was special about Bini army. Kind of like how Bini used guns & canons against Bini kingdom when Bini ised basic war instruments during the punitive expedition. If Bini had guns & cannons too, it would have been different. Lagos had & used guns against Britain at a war that lasted for several days until a mishap occured in the Lagos camp with gunpowder catching on fire and ruining everything. In one word, Bini army fought a war against a disadvantaged group.
8. While we Yoruba agree that your Bini army invaded parts of Eastern Yorubaland. We Yoruba are stating that [based on facts posted by you & us] that your invasion was limited to 6 towns in south Ekiti, Ondo town & Akure town. We are also saying that you had guns to fight swords, bow, arrow & spear. We are also saying that when the Ondo, Ekiti & Akure people had guns they repelled you and crushed your army for life. Please can u give me an actual list of all the 16 kingdoms that existed in eastern Yoruba at that time and I will give u detailed accounts of how Benin conquered each of them, executed their native rulers and set up Benin administrators.. While u do that please bear in mind that Benin conquered whole of Ekiti land.. that account is readily available for u to read if u wish.. |

BabaRamota1980:
The sons of a dimwit ogiso. Their 800yr old witchcraft that was brought in sun few weeks ago has not been locked up yet. I suspect it has taken posession of their spirits again. Bloody ekaladherans! Something for you to think about... Warfare, Banditry and Rebellion: Ethnicity and Slave Recruitment in Northeastern Yorubaland, 1820-1893Eastern Yorubaland also felt the impact of its powerful eastern neighbor, Benin. When Benin invaded Ekiti between 1818-1823, the aim was to quell provincial revolt and regain control over the region’s economy. Indeed by reasserting control over the trade routes, which linked it with Yorubaland, Benin strengthened the position of its long distance traders, the Ekhengbo (from Ekhen Egbo) (ekhen, traders; egbo, forest). Akure and Benin traditions agree that the invasion of Akure was precipitated by a commercial dispute following an attack on a Benin tobacco trader, Ogonto, who was accused of violating an Akure law. Even though the information is scanty, it is possible to situate the Benin invasion at this time and the economic dispute at its root, within the context of the rise in the supply of slaves by the wars in Yorubaland and Hausaland. Benin traders would have desired to tap into the northern Yoruba slave fields as well as send foreign goods into the interior. They would have also wanted alternative markets, even if temporary, to counterbalance the disruptive effect of the Nupe political crisis on Benin’s trade with the Niger. Consequently, Benin soldiers, under Ologbosere Imaran and Ezemo Erebo, carried out punitive expeditions, which left so much destruction that the fear of Benin lingered on till the early years of colonial occupation. Several Ekiti, Akoko and Owo towns were sacked and in them were created Benin colonies under the Balekale (consuls). With the victory, Benin reasserted its control over trade in Ekiti, Owo and Akoko, and Benin enclaves in Owo, Akure, Ikere and Ado-Ekiti became the nexus of trade between Benin and Yorubaland. Both Akure and Idanre traditions agree that owing to Benin commercial activities, a nineteenth century ruler, Deji Gbogi and an influential woman, Olokoju both of Akure founded Alade village/market (near Idanre) as a meeting point for Ekiti, Idanre, Ondo, Owo, Ijebu, Benin and Ijesa traders. Imported items such as guns, salt and metal implements from Benin were sold as far as Ilesa, Ekiti and Ilorin. This earned the Ekhengbo the distinction of being called the “first long-distance traders in Ekiti.” Although the Akure king’s list seems to put Igbogi in an earlier century, the reference to the importation of guns would put his reign in the mid-nineteenth century. Most significant was that commercial metal products point to the position of Akure as a regional market. As we shall show in chapter four, Benin traders undermined direct commercial contacts between Ekiti and Ondo for a greater part of the century. |

Moneywomen17: e pain am in ur comment u discredit akitoye but use him as refrence again. The Bradbury u quote claim Benin was already weak by the 18th century himself and did not have a strong army. In the document u only attack few towns in modern ondo and ekiti and that ended in the 18c when u try to attack once more in the 19c they kick ur ass back to Benin villages and killed all ur warrior. Benin could not conquer anybody for 500 years coz it could not even stay strong for that long. From late 16th century to early 18 c that was 110 years and use spend most of fighting according to the document posted. By the 19c some of the same ekiti town u fought came back to Benin and conquered ur land and u had to beg. I know it hurts but if we are going by the document posted that’s the story. Benin kicked their ass century back which didn’t last long u tried to kick it again u failed and they kicked ur ass and soon they march to Benin village and kicked ur ass and take ur land and u coward were begging. All the edo lead warrior that fought in ekiti were all dead only their coward follower stayed back and none was involved in the ekiti parapo war. It was lead by fabunmi and ogedengbe oko edo. No Benin coward needed. Benin fought like 6 villages in ekiti and ondo briefly and won for a little over a century and this kingdom came back to show u pepper by the way. This is the story the document portray not ur stupid 500 years unless if from late 16c to 18c is 500 years to u We only fought 6 villages, we were kicked in the ass lol. Keep consoling yourself Yoruba man lol. Anyways I won’t argue with u too much. U can read the screen shots below and count some of the few towns in Yoruba we conquered. It’s about 100 there, I still have many more but weep on this ones first.

BabaRamota1980: Listen, are you aware of the ekaladheran saga between Yoruba and Edo?
Go and look anywhere, in library, online, follow oral history....nowhere can you find anything called ekaladheran. Then Oba Erediauwa visited Ife in 79 and returned home bitter. Even Oba Ewuare II has confessed he had no clue what happened to Oba. By 1982 there are stories of an ekaladheran. All the scholars that corrected him and said ekaladheran was not Oduduwa were blacklisted. He belittled Eghavreba and said the honorary doctorate conferred on the man by UI had no worth. Can you imagine? Just because Eghavreba set records straight and said ekaladheran story was not true.
Anyway, Edos have championed the lies and at every opportunity they will jump online to profess that Oduduwa is their fugitive son. Thats the height of insult not just to Ife but to Yoruba race. What has Yoruba done to earn such insult from Edo? But they are intoxicated with that throne. Whatever is put forward from that throne posesses their spirit. Its a witchcraft.
Inspite of their barrage of insults we always yield ground and allow them to have last word.
This thread is ourvfavor back to them.
Do you know who Mayor of Lagos is?
That chap is the one that broke the myth about Ojukwu's father owning a RollsRoyce that Queen of England rode in during 1956 visit to Nigeria.
He also broke the myth about Sir Louis Ojukwu's reputation as the richest Nigerian in his days.
He is also the one that broke the ekaladheran myth and clearly and convincingly showed the hoax in it.
After that i became his disciple.
If i called Mayor here on page 1 by page 10 he would have broken ekaladheran to pieces and show the Edos the forest he perished in and direct them where to find his bones if they wanted decent burial for him. Thats getting carried away but thats to highlight how good the guy is ...he has eyes for penetrating bullshytte. Edo will suffer humiliation if Mayor jump in here. Shymexx will take them to cleaners easily and use them to mop the nairaland toilet.
So we have backed off enough...its time to lean in heavily and bring a long lasting blow for Edo to begin reshape its witchcraft and go back to the days when they recognized our superiority. So where are these Yoruba champions you are praising? If they are on nairaland then they will have seen what is going on here.. Maybe they are just scared of Edos missiles and know they cannot argue our points.. How can they prove Yoruba conquered or ruled Benin when there is no record anywhere in the world that says so? or how can they dispute the facts that Benin conquered and rule vast parts of Yoruba when there are available records that proves it? I believe they are sensible and choose fights that is easy and convenient for them. |

And while you are reviewing bear in mind that your claim that Yoruba gave us the name Bini and therefore means that Yoruba ruled us is the most stupidest argument on here.. Almost everybody got their general name from a foreign entity.. Igbos got the name Igbos from the europeans.. Yoruba got the name Yoruba from the Hausa/Fulani, a derogatory name meaning bastard and slowpoke and that name has stuck with your race for eternity.. so those that mean the you have accepted Hausa/Fulanis are your lord because they named you? And also the name Bini which you claim to have given the Edos is not accepted by Edos as their name.. We prefer to be called Edo a name given to us by our ancestors and we have preserved that name.. BabaRamota1980: You have not heard one word of denigration from my post. In fact when they throw a dart I dodge it and i respond back with facts. Example.....Ogiso Owodo for a fact is a dimwit.
There are many ways to win an argument. Use of saucy and denigrating words is not one of them. And Fact: Yorubas were ruled for 500yrs by the Edo people. another fact: Your Ooni is a slave descendants.. My facts have been researched and found to be truth, but your fact about Ogiso is just a ranting of a pained and frustrated man and everyone knows why u feel that way and we actually feel sorry for u... but at the same time we are proud our ancestors saved us from that feeling by being the conquerors and making your ancestors the conquered.. Moneywomen17: I will use thesame document my guy. According to the document he posted Benin attack this five Yoruba kingdom Akure, emure ogotun, ise and ikere and the try going further by the late 16th and early 17 century so I will leave it at 1590. The Benin village was defeated by Ewu kingdom. End of story and could not advanced further. By the early 18th century Benin was weak and all the few eastern Yoruba kingdom in ondo and ekiti like Akure and owo were completely free of Benin and they were already killing the edo people in their town. So Benin could only attack and win successfully against this town from 1590 to early 1700 where all of them were already free from benin accords to the document so 110 years at most. In the 19th century which is the 1800 when ur Benin boys try to take the town once more owo easily defeat the Benin army and when they try to attack Otun they could not defeat and end up joining them in fighting their own local war. All ur warrior that lead the war like ezomo all died and their follower cowardly put down their weapon and settle in the village. When Ibadan came to conquer the town that we’re kicking Benin ass there was no Benin anywhere to be found. And according to the document also ogedengbe lead forces of ekiti and ijesha warrior came for blood and conquer back Some town in Benin kingdom and use Benin people for suya before ur king had to beg them. So if we are going by this document benin attack and conquer like 5 or 6 town in ekiti and ondo together but for 110 years at most and they chase Benin packing not so long and they did not stop there they want to Benin kingdom and conquer back some town themselves. I kinda think it’s a win for the few town in ekiti that was attack and it proves my point that Benin was nothing more than a small kingdom that was severely beaten several times. Lol.. first of all, non of your mumu yoruba brothers even liked or shared your rants because they know its foolish.. Benin Kingdom conquered everywhere in Eastern Yoruba.. according to your Yoruba scholar Akintoye, he stated that Bradbury who visited the area after Bossman said Benin Conquered and ruled everywhere.. But Akintoye based his self serving analysis on Bossman who came to the area before Bradbury came.. In real life any judgement is always based on "recent findings" and Bradbury findings was more recent. Also Akintoye saying the Benin Armies who went to quell the Yoruba riots met stiff resistance and decided to "stay behind" and join the locals in their "local war"... I no fit laugh ooo.. That statement from Akintoye is a convenient way of lying and hiding the truth.. The truth is that the armies was highly successful and they were mandated to remain in the area to make sure no more riots happened again, and also to protect Edo citizens and Edo interests in the region.. I have been shouting all along that it was the Benin Armies that actually fought the Ekiti Kparakpo wars.. This statement by Akintoye just proved me right. Our Armies that stayed behind and fought your local wars was the Benin Armies fighting to protect Edos hold on Eastern Yoruba.. Ibadan's aim in the war was to rescue its Yoruba brothers from the over 500yrs subjugation by the mighty Benin Empire.. No matter how hard you yorubas try to distort history the truth and fact will remain very glaring for all to see.. Even Akintoye could have denied Benin ever beheaded the Deji but because the beheading was done publicly he could not.. |

BabaRamota1980: Your ogiso brother answered that already.
You people dont know where the remains of this ekaladheran is buried. All you know is he left Igodomigodo (not Benin) as a fugitive and went into forest.
Did he die in the forest? You dont know.
Did he return to Igodomigodo? You dont know.
In fact, you dont care....afterall he is a fugitive.
His deranged father didnt care. The harlot queen that put him in his dilemma didnt care. The corrupt chiefs that were sharing pussy with their ogiso and twisting the message of oracle didnt care His Edo people didnt care.
Yoruba dont know him, we dont have any reference in our history about him. Weve never heard of a ekaladheran or an izoduwa or imododuwa in our king list, nor in any of Yorubaland oriki, nor in any of our dynastic totems, or even in our orishas and our legends.
We do know...and your chiefs know that Benin Kingdom is property of Yoruba Ife, as a legacy from Oranmiyan, the grandson of our progenitor Oduduwa Adimula.
If your chiefs could take turns sleeping with wife of their ogiso....if they could be so reckless as to turn the message of oracle upside down and lie against the oracle.....if they could be so cruel as to aid a woman against the honor and dignity of your prince ekaladheran.....then it is not beyond them to fabricate a hoax and mischieveously deceive their people into believing that Eweka is a seed from the loins of an ogiso son. This is nothing short of a witchcraft!
Pele you hear.
At this point I believe it is a self truth that those witnessing these pages of counter arguments will not be wrong to conclude as Yorubas have done, Ekaladheran is a HOAX!
Now, we are not done. Our purpose on ekaladheran is realized.....but our purpose on Edo is not.
Yoruba won the war and chased fulani completely out of Yorubaland and across the river to Nupeland....but failed to chase them far into the hinterland and make theirbrwturn into Ilorin unthinkable. So we did not hold the gains. Fulani crept back into Ilorin and setup clerics....who became Imams and ultimately Emir.
The next task for us is to attack Edo itself. We must bring you to your rightful position as a subperior race of people to Yoruba. We will do it on this thread.
We are not going anywhere. This faceoff will wrap up when we say so...when we are satisfied that you are thoroughly exposed for who you are not. We kept quiet too long for you. Your day is here. Keep attacking Edo.. However your attacks have no substance or truth, at best its a mockery of history and venting of frustration at your pre-colonial rulers. Do not forget that Edo ruled Yoruba, your ancestors for 500 years.. 500 years!! I am soo proud of my ancestors who achieved this feat.. No wonder there is a bond between Edos and Yorubas.. Edo is forever tattooed on Yoruba skin.. |

BabaRamota1980: In case you are wondering why i double posted, its deliberate, to mock you........i wanted to make sure I "accompanied" the first post with a duplicate.
If you like you can be stuborn and deny Oduduwa is rightful heritage. Fact remains he is Ekhaladeran from Edo.. He is buried wherever you buried Oduduwa.. and yes Edos only remember him as a banished prince who later founded Oni lineage in Ife although the Ife throne is now usurped by the lineage of his slave.. A slave whose descendants now rule the Yorubas.. I think there is something about Yorubas and Slavery.. Yorubas where sold as slaves, A slave descendants rules you.. In this modern age Yoruba are still enslaved by the Fulanis.. |

BabaRamota1980: Stop wanking yourself over article that talks about Benin and Yoruba.
Give us input about your own history and legend in Ekaladheran.
Thats the purpose of this thread to solve the Ekaladheran mystery. You were doing good in the first 25pages but shake yourself loose and make Edo proud. Talk about Ekaladheran and Ife.
Steveosaz says he is buried in Ife. Is this true? And I finally understand where you yorubas frustration and anger for Edos is coming from.. nobody will be happy with being ruled for over 500yrs.. just like I am angry at the white people for enslaving Africans for 400yrs. So it’s okay for u to be mad at your oppressor, I understand your pain.. u have the right to be angry at us for oppressing and ruling your ancestors for over 500yrs.. but I cannot apologize for what my ancestors did because in life there has to be a conqueror and the conquered so as to preserve balance in nature. And I thank God and my ancestors that we were the conquerors lol. |

tonychristopher: [b] SOME ANIOMA IGBOS AND SOME OTHER IGBOS IN DELTA STATE, RIVER STATE(Ikwerrre), CROSS RIVER STATE,AKWA IBOM STATE AND BENUE STATE ARE GOING ABOUT WITH WRONG INFORMATION AGAINST THE IGBOS ON THE CAUSE OF THE CIVIL WAR BUT BELOW THE FACT IS THAT ANIOMA IGBOS CAUSED THE WAR AND THIS IS THE FACT - READ THE FACTS: DESPITE THEIR CLAIM AND JUMPING SHIP TO NIGERIA SIDE WHO HAS A BETTER FUTURE IN NIGERIA TODAY. OUR CHILDREN ARE DOING BETTER THAN THEIR CHILDREN IN EVERY FIELD AND IT WILL BE NICE FOR THE IKWERRE AND ANIOMA PEOPLE TO KEEP LOOKING INWARD AND CONTINUE TO BE A MNIORITY UPON MINORITY IN DELTA AND RIVER STATE AS THEY WOULD HAVE SUCCEEDED IN MAKING THEMSELVES TOO SMALL TO BE RECOGNISED NATIONALLY. ANIOMA IGBOS PLANNED AND EXECUTED THE FIRST MILITARY COUP IN NIGERIA AND AFTER IT FAILED THAT ACTION STARTED THE CIVIL WAR IN NIGERIA FROM 1966 TO 1970 AND THEY ANIOMAS AND OTHER IGBOS WRONGLY KEEP BLAMING THE SOUTH EAST IGBOS FOR THEIR TROUBLES IN THE NIGERIAN PROJECT. THE HAUSAS, THE YORUBAS AND OTHER NIGERIA FELT THAT THE IGBOS STARTED THE COUP AND CIVIL WAR AND THEY DO NOT WANT TO KNOW WHICH IGBO. INFACT AGUIYI IRONSI, OJUKWU, MADIEBO, ZIK, OKPARA AND OTHER IGBOS SHOULD HAVE TOLD NIGERIANS FROM HAUSA, YORUBA AND OTHER NIGERIANS THAT ANIOMA IGBOS STARTED THE TROUBLE IF WE KNEW THAT THEY WILL TURN AROUND TODAY TO CLAIM THAT THEY ARE NOT IGBOS. IF AGUIYI IRONSI, OJUKWU, ZIK AND CO HAD MADE THE DIFFERENCE CLEAR THE WAR WOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN PLACE, BUT THEY WERE PROTECTING THEIR BROTHERS AND SISTERS AND WE ALL HAVE DIED AND SUFFERERED FOR IT AND TODAY SOME ANIOMA PEOPLE ARE MAKING USELESS NOISE ALL OVER THE PLACE CLAIMING THEY ARE NOT IGBOS BECAUSE THE WAR WAS LOST. IGBOS REGARD THEM AS BROTHERS AND SISTERS AND THAT IS WHY WE DO NOT TELL THEM THIS FACT ABOUT THE WAR BECAUSE IGBOS KNOW THAT THE MISTAKES HAVE BEEN MADE AND WE DO NOT REMIND THEM OF THIS FACT, BUT WITH THE IRESPONSIBLE COMMENTS AND DISREPECTS A LOT ANIOMA IGBOS AND OTHER IGBOS KEEP HEAPING ON SOUTH EAST IGBOS - IT IS TIME TO TELL THE ANIOMAS AND OTHER IGBOS THE TRUTH. . THE COUP PLANNERS AND EXECUTIONERS WERE ALL ANIOMA IGBOS, FEW YORUBAS, FEW IJAW AND FEW MINORITY TRIBES. THERE IS NOT RECORD WERE ANY SOUTH EAST CORE IGBO WAS AMONG THE FIRST COUP PLANNERS, BUT THE ANIOMA IGBOS KEEP DISTORTING HISTROY BY BLAMING IGBOS ON THEIR FAILURE. SOUTH EAST IGBOS HAD SENIOR MILITRAY MEN IN THE ARMY THEN BUT THEY DID NOT PLAN OR PARTICIPATE IN THE COUP BUT THESE SENIOR SOUTH EAST IGBO OFFICERS LIKE GENERAL AGUIYI IRONSI, GENERAL MADIEBO, OKEKE, OJUKWU AND CO RATHER TRIED TO PROTECT THE ANIOMA OFFICERS AS BROTHERS AND THAT WAS WHAT ANGERED THE NORTH TO PLAN A COUNTER COUP THAT KILLED AGUIYI IRONSI AND STARTED THE WAR. ANIOMA IGBOS SHOULD GO AND READ HISTROY AND FIND OUT THE FACTS BEFORE THEY START BLAMING OTHERS FOR THE SELF INFLICTED PROBLEMS FOR EXAMPLE GENERAL OGBEMUDIA FORMER GOVERNOR OF BENDEL STATE IS AN IGBO MAN AS HE SPEAKS IGBOS AND HIS PARENTAGE IS IGBO AND HE IS STILL AN IGBO MAN, BUT HE CHANGED HIS IDENTITY DURING THE WAR AND HE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO CHANGE IT BACK AND HE FEELS HE IS BENEFITING FROM THE WAR WHICH HE WAS PART OF THE EXECUTIONER. OGBEMUDIA IS FROM IGBO-AKIRI TOWN IN AN EDO IGBO TOWN WHO SPEAKS IGBO AND WITH IGBO CULTURE DOMINANT IN HIS VILLAGE AND HIS PARENTAL LINEAGE IS ALL IGBO, BUT HE CHANGED HIS VILLAGE NAME TO IGBANKE DURING THE WAR AND BECAUSE OF IT SINCE HE AFTER THE WAR HIS PEOPLE OF IGBO-AKIRI(NOW IGBANKE) ARE A MINORITY UPON MINORITY AND IN CIVILIAN RULE AND DEMOCRACY HE IS LOSSING AS HIS PEOPLE ARE NOW A SMALL MINORITY INSTEAD OF REMAINING WHAT GOD CREATED THEM TO BE. NOW OBGE MUDIA DOES NOT COMMAND MUCH FOLLOWING AND RESPECT IN EDO BECAUSE OF THIS. I have followed this forums and I have been shocked at the myopic and distortion of facts about Igbos from the Civil War era to present in all these forum by very inferior and small minded persons whom if not for the fact to correct facts they do not deserve IGBOS attention, but just to settle their SMALL MINDS AND CONFUSED PERSONALITIES, BECAUSE IGBOS HAVE THE MOTIVATION, THE GOAL AND CONSISTENT ETHOS OF HARDWORK AND PERSEVERANCE TO SUCCEED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES IN THE GREATER NIGERIA AND AFRICA PROJECT AND IT DOES NOT MATTER THE ANTI-IGBO AGENDA - IGBOS WILL SUCCEED NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCES. FACTS AND NAMES OF ANIOMA IGBOS MILITARY COUP PLANNERS AND EXECUTIONERS OF THE COUP OF JANUARY 15, 1966 CALLED CODE NAME (DAMISA) HAUSA NAME FOR LEOPARD The Nigerian Civil war and the military coup of January 15 19666 Code name (Damisa) that resulted in the civil war was started and executed by Anioma IGBOS lead by Major Chukwuma Nzeogwu,Major Emmanuel Ifeajuna, Captina Chukwuka, captain Nwawor, colonel Achuzie, Colonel Cyril Iweze, Colonel Nwajei, Colonel Mike Okwechme, Major Albert Okonkwo, Captain Henry Igboba with few Yorubas as minor players like Major Wale Ademoyega, colonel Fola Olahimihan, captain Adeleke, Lieutenent Fola Oyewole and Major Aalele among and ALL IGBOS suffered and died because of this coup and civil war started by Anioma people and they knew all Igbos will support them at that time and all IGBOS did but THE ANIOMA AND OTHER IGBOS IN RIVERS STATE AND CROSS RIVER, AKWA IBOM STATE CONTINUE TO BLAME THE EASTERN CORE IGBOS FOR THE PROBLEM OF THE COUP AND THE CIVIL WAR. I refer you to the books on the Nigerian first military coup and the civil on books by General Olusegun Obasanjo, General Madiebo and by a book on the Nigerian civil war by an Anioma Igbo man name Emma Okocha - Blood on the Niger by emma Okocha pages 53, pages 52-60, pages 186-187, pages 206-210 - TRIATLANTIC BOOKS.When you read this book you will find out that the first military coup was planned and executed by Anioma Igbos with the hope and plan that All Igbos will support them and ALL IGBOS SUPPORTED AND JOIN THEM BUT WHEN WE STARTED LOSSING THE WAR, SOME IGBOS INCLUDING SOME ANIOMA IGBOS and IGBOS in River State, Cross River State, Benue State and Akwa Ibom State ALL OF A SUDDEN CLAIMED THAT THEY ARE NOT IGBOS At that time IN 1960 TO PRESENT Anioma Igbos did not have the population, did not have the political power, did not have the economic power then in 1960 to 1967 and as such they knew that they could not fight the North and other Nigerians. They Anioma Igbos knew that the Eastern REgion Igbos have the economic power, political power, military power and the knew that we will support them. ANIOMA IGBOS DID NOT AND HAVE NEVER HAD ECONOMIC POWER, MILITARY POWER OR POLTICAL POWER IN THE NIGERIA PROJECT FOR THEM TO CARRY OUT THE PLAN BUT THEY DEPENDED ON THE IGBOS OF EASTERN NIGERIA. The Anioma Igbo leaders like Major Nzeagwu who started the military coup and war knew that ALL IGBOS will support them and We did and ALL IGBOS have paid the price of the war because we believed that we are all IGBOS. Achuzia and co also played some wicked tricks against the Igbos of South East during the war and he is still playing that game till today. The same Major Nzeogwu, Ifeajuna, co. who started the military coup of the 60s and the civil war turned around and wanted to do the same thing against Biafra Leadership against Ojukwu by working against Biafra and Ojukwu found out and put them in their place, especially Major Alele, Banjo , colonel Achuzie and co who also planned a coup against Ojukwu and Biafria and Ojukwu found out about it and executed them Banjo, Alele etc and placed Nzeogwu and Ifeajuna under house arrest untill they were killed in Nsukka sector. The only mistake IGBOS and General Aguiyi Ironsi made was not prosecuting quickly and detaining Chukwuma Nzeogwu on time but wasted time and that was why the North and Hausas got angry and executed the counter coup which killed General Aguiyi Ironsi because he was protecting the Anioma Igbo Coup planners and their Yoruba and IJAW co-conspirators. What baffles me is how IGBOS from Anioma will turn around to abuse and disrespect IGBOS from South East for all their troubles by saying and sometimes working against Igbos from the South East for no reason. Igbo have never worked against them in the Nigerian project, but when they cause trouble like Major Nzeogwu and co. or when religious or ethnic riot and trouble starts in the North or west of Nigeria every person both minorities from the South of Nigeria are regarded as Igbos and killed and their property destroyed and displaced. When Asaba and Anioma people surrendered and welcomed the federal forces during the war and were massacred by genocide in Asaba other Igbos did not caused that. Genocide and mass killing happened in hundreds and thousands also in Enugu, Nsukka, Uzuakoli, Item, Awka, Owerri, Aba, Isikwuato, Abagana etc. during the war in thousand on a war caused by ANIOMA IGBOS . When other Igbos in Rivers State, Cross River State etc. surrendered and joined the Federal forces to fight Igbos they forget to remember that the people that started the war and caused the war were Anioma IGBOS and other minorities like Major Alele but they keep wrongly blaming Igbos from the South East as the cause of the problem and the keep hiding the truth. Let me now tell these CONFUSED IGBOS that despite their short lived success after the war by claiming not to be IGBOS thing have changed today: Igbos have a brighter future than ever before and they should get ride of of their false grudges against the IGBOS and move on and they should look at the facts because we have the numbers, we have the resources and we have the potential in this globalized world to do better. The future is on our side and we careless about their false and empty grudges. Check these facts. THE ANIOMAS JUST LIKE THE AROCHUKWU PEOPLE BENEFITED FROM EARLY CONTACT WITH EUROPEANS THROUGH RELIGIOUS CHURCHES AND THE SLAVE TRADE. THE AROS AND ANIOMA PEOPLE PARTICIPATED HEAVILY IN THE SLAVE TRADE BUSINESS THROUGH THE ROYAL NIGER COMPANY AND THE RELIGIOUS CHURCHES AND THAT IS WHY ALL OVER IGBOLAND AROCHUKWU PEOPLE HAVE SETTLEMENTS AND COMMUNITY THROUGH WHICH THEY CONDUCTED THEIR SLAVE TRADE BUSINESS. ALSO THE ANIOMA PEOPLE THROUGH THE RIVER NIGER AND ASABA WAS THE GATEWAY AND THE HEAD QUATERS OF THE ROYAL NIGER COMPANY OF THE 1700-1900 AND WITH THESE CONTACTS WITH THE WHITE PEOPLE AND SLAVE TRADE A LOT OF AROCHUKWU PEOPLE AND ANIOMA PEOPLE WERE EDUCATED IN THE 1700, 1900, TILL THE 1960S BECAUSE THEY ANIOMA AND THE AROCHUKWU PEOPLE OCCUPIED GREAT POSITION IN IGBOLAND AND NIGERIA THROUGH WHAT THEY GAINED IN SLAVE TRADE AND CONTACT WITH THE WHITEMAN.] BUT THINGS HAVE CHANGED THE CORE AND NATIVE IGBOS HAVE WAKEN UP AND CATCHUP IN EDUCATION AND BUSINESS AND TODAY IN ALL OF THE IGBOS STATES THE IGBO NATIVE HAVE TAKEN OVER IN GOVERNMENT, EDUCATION, BUSINESS, TRADE AND OTHER ENDEAVORS AND THIS HAS BEEN CAUSING RESENTMENTS AMONG THE ANIOMAS AND THE AROCHUKWU PEOPLE. MANY YEARS AGO AROCHUKWU PEOPLE CONTROLLED THE BUSINESS AND EDUCATION IN IGBOLAND THROUGH THEIR SETTLEMNTS IN MANY OTHER IGBOS AREAS BUT TODAY NATIVES IGBOS HAVE TAKEN OVER IN ABIA, IMO, ANAMBRA, RIVERS, ENUGU, EBONY ETC. THE NATIVE IGBOS HAVE MOMENTUM NOW AND THESE ARE THE FACTS TO THE ANIOMA AND OTHER IGBOS WHO DO NOT WANT TO SEE THE FUTURE AS IGBOS ARE BACK AND BACK IN FULL FORCE AND THE SKY IS OUR LIMIT AS WE HAVE THE POPULATION, RESOURCES AND ZEAL TO DO BETTER. FACTS, DATA AND NUMBERS TO BACK IT UP FOR IGBOS: (1) Igbos have a population of almost 50 million people World Wide with about 40 million in Nigeria (2) Anioma Igbos and Other Igbos in River State, Cross River etc. have a population of about 3 million people world wide (3) They should know that Igbos in South East have the resources and potential to do more than they can ever deam of cos we have the numbers and potential as the world is changing fast. (4) In education you cannot compete with Igbos in any level in education and manpower because we have the numbers (5) in Business in Nigeria, Africa and Worldwide you know you cannot compete with Igbos (6) In South East Igbo we have oil and gas, coal, ceramics, palm oil, Cement limestone in abundant quantity in Nkalagu, Abakiliki, Afikpo, Oharoara, Large rubber plantation in Abam, Abriba,Ulonna, Isikwuato, Umuahia, Okigwe. (7) We have large and resourceful farmlands and agriculture in Abakaliki, Ebonyi, Abia, Ogbaru, Afikpo, Ngwaland, Bende, Enugu,Nsukka, Obolor Afo, Nkannu, Okigwe, Abam, Ohafia etc We have abundant resources for development. ( Go to Lagos, Kano, Abuja, Ibadan, Akure, Sokoto, Onitsha, Nnewi, Aba, Warri, Benin, Jos, Sokoto, Cotonou, Ghana,Liberia, Ivory Coast South Africa, Cameroon, USA, Britain, Europe, Portharcourt, All over Nigeria and West Africa none of you can compete with IGBOS in any field and in all the niche busiesss areas in commerce, pharmaceutical, building material, goods, supplies, provisions, electronics, hotel, computer and telecommunication etc. (9)in every major town in Nigeria and all the major markets and commercial business activities in Nigeria and west Africa from Alaba international market, Oyingbo Market, Ibadan Market Cotonou market, Togo, Balogun, Onitsha International market, Aba, Kano International , Makurdi, Kogi, Illorin, market, Jos, Cotonou, Angola, Gabon, Calabar market, portharcourt Igbos have created a presence and dominance in commerc and industry that only creativity and hardwork can deliver it and prove it (10)Talk of major transportation sector, Entertainment, music, media and movies and home videos IGBOS are dominant. Go to every major city and state in Nigeria and ask the Governors, leaders or emirs, obas and chief on much Igbos pay in taxes and dues and you will be shocked. example Lagos State Governor has attested to that in addtion to Kano and plateau State to name of few that are glad for Igbos to invest there. As it is right now no matter what happens South Igbos have five states and we do get our share of the national cake in addition to our senators and house members and our share of the national cake and we do not have to fight with other many minority tribes like in (Delta or Rivers) for who should be the Governor or other positions. in these five core Igbo States these position goes to IGBO rain or sun no matter what and we do not have to share it with any body and still we want more states. (11)The few businesss and some banks which Anioma Igbos and other Igbos owned and operates and have some Directors and CEO of some banks and few business cannot survive without Igbo customers and Igbo business. If Igbo Customers and Igbo business pull their money from few business or banks with Directors or share holders from Anioma those banks will fail - For example if Igbo pull out their money from any of the few banks in Lagos, Onitsha, Kano, Abuja, Asaba, Aba, Enugu, owerri,Kano, Portharcourt, Calabar, Akwa Ibom, Sokoto, Kaduna, Ibadan and all the major towns in Nigeria these businesses and banks owned by few Anioma and other Igbo it will fail. Igbo patronize these banks and business own by Anioma and other Igbos because we still regard you as brothers and sisters but your atitude towarsd the Igbos is abhoring especailly since you are the one that started the civil war and problem in Nigeria (12) The time when you used Babangida and his wife with her bottom power agenda is over and besides Babangida and his wife only helped their inlaws the Okogwu and Odogwu and you had that time and it is over and you should not be blaming IGBOS for anything you did not get. Igbos from the South East did not cause your problem in Nigeria. It is caused by your own people but rather Igbos suffered because we tried through General Aguiyi Ironsi,Colonel Ojukwu and General Madiebo etc to protect you and all Igbos on the probelm you started (13)You also have other ethnic groups to deal with who are your real problems in Delta and River States like the Ijaws, Urhobos, Itshekiris, EDo etc and more other tribes you have to deal with and those are your immediate problems and not the IGBOS from South East You can hate the IGBOS as much as you want, but just know that you need us more than we need you. We Igbos in the South East have always regarded and respects our Igbo brothers from River State, Delta State, Cross River State, Akwa Ibom State and Igbos in Benue State. The lies and propaganda of the Civil War has been used to confused you guys and please take a look at the facts and you will see that Igbos have done you no wrong despite the false claim AND WE STILL REGARD ALL IGBOS FROM DELTA STATE, RIVER STATE, CROSS RIVER STATE, AKWA IBOM STATE, BENUE STATE AS BROTHER AND SISTER NO MATTER WHATSOME OF YOU HAVE DONE TO US WITH YOUR LIES AND COMPLEX, [/b] Please whoever you are, Ogbemudia is NOT Igbo he is Edo and commands great respect in Edo State.. |
