She literally decimated the catholic threads and ridiculed some muslims in their muslim threads and ended up white washing some athiests. I now found a thread that stated her story and after reading it i found some loop holes. I noticed the thread was locked due to criticisms against her and i stated my own criticisms to her story. you can argue from now till nxt yr, your problem isnt about pilgrim.1, its about a fact that she actually dared to call Christ FATHER and do so openly. tribalist, your behaviour isnt new . . . 5000 years ago David the psalmist encapsulated it here
Ps 2:1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
If we try to rewrite those 3 verses in Nairaland speak it could so easily read - 1. Why do the muslims rage, and the athiests imagine a vain thing?
2. The muslim posters and mods take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
3 Let us lock their threads, threaten them, and ban them from us. |

And immediately pilgrim and her bodyguards replied they locked the thread to protect her without giving me the chance to respond to the insults hurled at me. How do you call that responsible except they fear of one chick and elevating her to a godlike person.
So where did you get all those other silly headlines you posted?
Please check your facts very well before you post anything. If you checked your facts you'd notice that muslims have been the ones protected and mollycuddled on this board. Imagine if a christian went to the muslim section to raise a thread essentially insulting a muslim there or mocking the islamic view of conversion. Do you think the thread would survive? |

lets be honest, tribalist, the problem isnt really pilgrim.1. Your REAL PROBLEM is that God has used pilgrim to strengthen the faith of other christians here and opened the eyes of those who were either on the fence or in your camp.
Your bitterness is not about her posts, or her style or her "status" . . . the REAL ISSUE is Jesus Christ whom you have been raised to hate.
You could say almost the same thing for olabowale (except pilgrim actually knows what she is saying) but of course, he's a muslim so no problem. |

~Lady~: I'm sorry but I actually thought that the seventh day is sabbath day. But hey you know the Bible may be wrong there ehn. the bible isnt wrong, you just don't understand Hebrews 4. Was it talking about a sabbath day rest? No. ~Lady~: And this verse speaks of the seventh day, and how we are now in that rest. No be so. I have always talked about the issue of SELECTIVE READING of the bible. Did you forget Hebrews 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.please can you help me understand how you "labour" to enter the sabbath day? Do you labour to enter wednesday? Have you ever wondered what these four words have in common with each other to be used in the same verse?
- Labour, Rest, Fall and Unbelief.
Does verse 11 mean to say that those who did not "labour" to enter a weekly "sabbath" thus exhibited "unbelief" and hence "fell"?Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.You said Heb 4 declared that we have already entered into the rest, but verse 9 here says there remaineth YET ANOTHER rest for us . . . how do we reconcile this? this is not about making noise and showing "spiritual prowess", its about understanding what scripture says in simple terms. ~Lady~: If it has nothing to do with the sabbath day, would you mind telling us what it had to do with? If i told you would you be humble enough to even consider my own point of view? You already have a proud idea that you are right and i can never have anything to say that you can benefit from so thats just a waste of time. Maybe someone else can help you with that chapter you so mutilate. ~Lady~: So love isn't a virtue, Obedience isn't a virtue, faith isn't a virtue, hope isn't a virtue, charity isn't a virtue, well i guess I was wrong, you still haven't learned. I don't understand this type of dishonest human being. I mentioned 1 Cor 13 as an example of what the bible has to say on the issue of christian virtues. Pray is charity not the subject of 1 Cor 13? We are not arguing on what christian virtues are, i simply said they are GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT. Fallen man has no capacity to be obedient, fallen man cannot love, fallen man has no faith, fallen man has no hope for eternal life. We obtain these virtues, not by meditating on them with rosaries (false doctrine) but as part of the unmerited favour of God when we become born again. The bible is explicit - Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?~Lady~: My guy there are gifts of the Spirit and then there are christian virtues. I am also glad that you say that learning the virtues are based on Mary and that they are nonsense. So I will take it that faith, charity, obedience, love of God, patience is all nonsense. And um a virtue isn't earned, so don't let your hatred misguide you to lie. A virtue is learned. And we have a lot to learn from Mary and Yes Jesus seeing that it is their lives that are meditated on in the rosary. Christian virtues are not learned, they are gifts. You bring forth these fruits by virtue of the Holy Spirit dwelling inside you when you become saved. By your own self you CANNOT learn christian virtues. how do you learn to love? How do you learn faith? How do you learn to be obedient outside of the Holy Ghost giving you the capacity to do this? please stop confusing the unsaved with these lies. ~Lady~: You can claim whatever you want, the truth still remains the same. I doubt if you even know the "truth" you so trumpet. ~Lady~: Sorry, but you will pass away and the Church won't. It's been standing for 2000 years, so if you want, you can bang your head and click your red heels and wish and wish and wish, the Church is going no where. Sorry but IT WON'T!!! sorry but i thought the only thing that wont pass away is this - Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.Maybe you have a different bible or you are of course quoting from apostolic traditions. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Christians - Beware, Lest You End Up In Hell by davidylan4(m): 11:01pm On Oct 01, 2008 |
huxley: Funny. Let's take this argument as far as it could go;
In what sense is brother used in this context? Was it meant as a biological brother, a spiritual brother, a kinship brother. Is it possible to tell from the context?
Now, if Jesus was representing a new dispensation (covenant) for mankind, is there any reason he would have wanted to narrow down the definition to mean only those within a small coterie of people? I call this the sectarian approach. Is there any other evidence in Jesus pronoucements where he is seen to be espousing sectarian ideals? I submit, there is plenty;
"Do not go among the Gentiles, or enter any town of the Samaritans. Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel" (Matthew 10:5-6).
"I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel" (Matthew 15:24).
Ok, given that Jesus expressed such sectarian sentiments, are we to read "brother" in a sectarian sense? I submit there is a strong case for that given Jesus's own sentiments. this is a typical athiest outlook. Is it sectarian if people born in America refer to themselves as citizens and you as an illegal alien? The bible is clear on who is a brother . . . members of the household of faith. If you want to be a part of it then understand that there are rules to follow and a prescribed route of entry. if you do not wish to be a part of this brotherhood of faith then by all means feel free not to. huxley: The other approach which I tend to favour is to read it as a all-world or universal approach. I call this the humankind approach. In this sense, Jesus, as the claim universal saviour of mankind, meant brother to mean all humans all over the world, including females (and intersexuals). In this approach, Jesus is signaling his sympathies with all of humankind and the need for politeness in human discourse.
What do you guys think? This humanistic approach is flawed. Christ came to die for ALL mankind, however He cant force all mankind to accept Him. You cant constantly struggle to force christian "benefits" into a humankind approach while ignoring the prerequisites. |

~Lady~: Lol, ok so if the 10 commandments is not applicable, then doesn't that mean that there are no 10 commandments? Or are the gentiles only to follow 9 commandments?
But since you requested it, here it is: Hebres 4
1 Let us fear therefore lest the promise being left of entering into his rest, any of you should be thought to be wanting. 2 For unto us also it hath been declared, in like manner as unto them. But the word of hearing did not profit them, not being mixed with faith of those things they heard. 3 For we, who have believed, shall enter into rest; as he said: As I have sworn in my wrath; If they shall enter into my rest; and this indeed when the works from the foundation of the world were finished. 4 For in a certain place he spoke of the seventh day thus: And God rested the seventh day from all his works. 5 And in this place again: If they shall enter into my rest.
6 Seeing then it remaineth that some are to enter into it, and they, to whom it was first preached, did not enter because of unbelief: 7 Again he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, Today, after so long a time, as it is above said: Today if you shall hear his voice, harden not your hearts. 8 For if Jesus had given them rest, he would never have afterwards spoken of another day. 9 There remaineth therefore a day of rest for the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, the same also hath rested from his works, as God did from his.
It's not rocket science sir. Either you know or you don't. Anyway, I don't wish to turn this into another david vs. ~Lady~. You have been schooled many times and even by the scripture you love much. Like I said to you before BREATHE!!! LIFE IS NOT THAT HARD!!! We've been through this many times, i stand to be corrected but the "rest" spoken off in Hebrews 4 has absolutely NOTHING to do with a sabbath day. Rather than belabour the subject, here are a few teachings on this same issue . . . http://www.letusreason.org/7thAd25.htmhttp://www.watchmanmag.com/0103/010305.htmhttp://www.wcg.org/lit/bible/epis/heb4.htmhttp://www.drurywriting.com/john/Exegesis%20of%20Hebrews%204.htm Read those writings especially the first and last carefully. Its always best to understand something before making unwarranted noise. don't worry about me, i am breathing . . . i don't have a single atom of patience for deliberate character assassination. Again don't worry, this wont turn to a David vs Lady show, i have no more interest in bothering about your spiritual illiteracy. ~Lady~: It's seriously funny, how everytime you try to say I am lying, you quote the exact same one as I did for you. False. you might want to go back and check that thread again. Your "virtues" that you talked about were based on Mary and the annunciation and the stuff and nonsense (aka virtues) you said we could learn from them. The christian virtues that the early apostles speak of in the epistles are gifts of the Spirit. You don't earn them by meditating with a rosary. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Who Is Who In Hell by davidylan4(m): 9:46pm On Oct 01, 2008 |
~Lady~: Ok not to stir up anything but, i just want to disagree a bit and throw this in there for thought.
Christianity did not start existing in our age. It existed for 2000 years, and during that time people all around the world were dying even before they knew or heard of the name Jesus.
Now seeing that God is not relative to time, I doubt he would say that in 2008 there was technology and everyone had heard of Jesus so those of you who died before 2008 should also be judged in light on 2008.
Now even though we are in 2008, there are those who do not or have heard of Jesus. I believe there tribes deep in the amazon forests and all aorund the world that missionaries have not traveled to, or may not know exist.
So my point? Don't assume things, and don't look at things from the angle of "it's 2008" everyone should have heard of Jesus by now. God won't be thinking "it's 2008 everyone should have heard of Jesus by now"
Let's challenge ourselves to be broad in thinking. Most times in your haste to force urself to disagree with David you seem to also read wrong motives to my post. Now one quick question - reread that line you quoted and pls show me where i made the claim that everyone who died before 2008 would be judged by the standards of 2008? I remember addressing this severally, the thief on the cross probably never even bothered about who Jesus . . . probably never read the law in his life, possibly never obeyed a commandment all his life and yet still made paradise . . . Everyone will be judged according to the level of revelation available to their time. Prior to the laws of Moses it was not a crime for men (even Abraham) to marry their sisters . . . Abraham is certainly not in hell. Likewise the man who died in AD 53 would be judged based on what he knew then and not 2008. Back to my point to Huxley, maybe i shld not have used the term "no one" and will thus replace it with "almost all". |

~Lady~: Hmm I see someone caught amnesia. I believe your stance was that the sabbath law was nullified. Does that ring a bell now? The sabbath law, just like the circumcision DOES NOT APPLY TO THE GENTILE CHRISTIAN and thus the 4th commandment is of no use to us! That is my stance and i stand by it . . . i repeat, its a shame that you now resort to lies. If you must please do post links as evidence. If you think the sabbath is applicable to the modern day christian you'D be better off showing us scripture rather than crying like a hurting child. ~Lady~: You know what you are right, therefore I apologise to Davidylan. your appology rings hollow, please keep it. As much as you have a right to "stand by your oppinion" please note that such oppinions do not include blatant lies against the character of others. ~Lady~: From a logical point of view, faith is to believe. Christian faith is something else, but I wasn't talking to a Christian now was I? We are not speaking "logic" here. ~Lady~: Hahaha, you are learning. First you learned about Christian virtues, then you learn this, and well you've finally said that there are 10 commandments, I am proud of you for not still thinking that Jesus nullified the sabbath law, or do you still believe that? Under the new covenant we are not bound to the old covenant rules such as the sabbath. If you think it still applies then show it biblically . . . its just that simple. About christian virtues . . . 2 Cor 13 is one such example. They are fruits of salvation and not things you "meditate on" with a rosary. If you have a second oppinion post your biblical source. Enough of this senseless charade of lies and disgusting half truths. |

So I don't know about that. However the commandment on observing the sabbath is a STRICTLY JEWISH LAW THAT IS NOT BINDING ON THE GENTILE CHRISTIANS. Get your facts right! - It seems you have so much hate inside you, do yourself a favour . . . hate and malice (which you so gleefully show on threads that involve me) are not attributes of one who prides herself on being a christian. - Whether i am a christian or not should not be an issue that shld concern you, if i were you i'D be more worried at how precious little you know about the very bible you claim your "church" owns.
