KINI BIG DEAL cool cool cool cool cool cool cool

Of course pictures are not as impressive as a gross inspection of a real lung. Healthy lungs even from an elderly adult should be pink and spongy, a smokers lung is jet black!  shocked There are patchy white areas that could be cancer (some don't develop this), a few stiff portions of the lower lungs and plenty of nasty mucus. And that's for the lucky ones who don't end up with full blown lung disease. i.e. the healthy ones!  shocked

Keep smoking dudes!

thou shalt not smoke.
If only smokers took time to analyse the constituents of smoke that goes directly into their lungs and the seemingly minute changes it makes in their body over time.

If you've ever seen a smoker's lungs live you'll never pick up a cigarette in your life.

Hux, go back and read the first 17 verses of Ecc 1. It is refering to people like you who think that wisdom is only in the number of books and hifalutin scientific terminology you can bluster. It refers to people wise in their own conceit, it refers to people who think they have no use for God since they now know what 99% of the population dont.

The bible extols the virtue of acquiring knowledge . . . it however warns of the dangers of such knowledge to those who become puffed up with so much knowledge that they no longer feel a need for God.

As usual, standing scripture on its head.

huxley:

The Big Bang is the cosmological model of the universe that is best supported by all lines of scientific evidence and observation. As used by scientists, the term Big Bang generally refers to the idea that the universe has expanded from a primordial hot and dense initial condition at some finite time in the past, and continues to expand to this day.

This is a flawed concept that again HAS NO PROOF. Science has continously modified the BB theory for the last century and no one is any closer to any real explanation. The theory itself begs the question - where did the "primordial hot and dense initial condition" appear from? When did "time" start?

If the universe is truly still expanding why have we seen no significant changes to the earth in over 6000 yrs?

huxley:

AFAIK, BB does not talk about planet formation.

Then what in God's name do they talk about?

huxley:

What do you understand by abiogenesis? Can you enlighten me, please?

abiogenesis is the study of how life could have emanated from inorganic molecules. Now mr. . . . have you EVER SEEN inorganic molecules spontaneously generate life? Just keep trotting out bogus names to confuse the gullible.

Why has someone not generated life all these yrs?
Religion / Re: Universe Origin (Big Bang) & Christianity by davidylan4(m): 6:37pm On Oct 06, 2008
huxley:

Your dishonesty knows no bounds. I shall refer you to what I said earlier, viz;

The best explanation of the state and origin of the universe is called "Big Bang". These ignorant Christians characteristically mispresent Big Bang, saying that it explain the origin of life. BB is not an explanation of the origin of life. For that check out abiogenesis (not evolution). Nowhere in the Big Bang theory is there any comment for how life came about. (Get this)

And you have consistently failed to redeem yourself by answering the challenge - "Where in the definition of Big Bang is there a description of the origin of life?"

this post wins the stupidity award of the yr. What then did the big bang create? Ordered planets in the absence of time?
Did you know that abiogenesis itself is also a theory WITHOUT ANY SHRED OF PROOF?

the simple question - how does the big bang explain the presence of matter outside of time?
When did time begin?
How did the big bang create life and biological order?

These are valid scientific questions.

I was so sure that pilgrim's loverboy davidylan would come to her aid. What's so inspirational about fornication and conversion? How come you havent told us anything about your relationship with women and jesus? What is so inspiring that can shake muslims? Instead of her to say she found solace in christianity so as to have a free hand to continue fornicating and swap religions, your saying it would shake muslims.

is this why you said this?

pussylover:

I don't think i am the only one bothered by you. There are hundreds of people on nairaland that depise and hate your guts. There are also thousands of people, mostly muslims that feel irritated by the sight of you. Your nothing but a back stabbber and betrayer of a faith that once fed you and made you what you are.

Seems to me muslims are very badly shaken.

pussylover:

I can't imagine who ungrateful you can be to a religion that didn't harm you in anyway but for you to later do a 360 and start abusing Allah, its people and the koran. What kind of person are you? When you were championing the cause of muslims and disgorging christianity with so much passion and happiness, did you ever feel some form of satisfaction? When you were denouncing the same bible you uphold today, did you ever consider the way you maltreated Christian faithfuls world wide?

the same form of satisfaction you would have felt if she were busy "disgorging christianity" still? What kind of person are you?
Why so much hate?

there are zero-energy particles and there is a good possibility, matter had always existed. it's funny theists find it easy to believe God came from nowhere but always scream for an origin of energy and matter.

Again much of your "evidence" is speculation. What created matter? Did it just appear from nowhere in the absence of time? What laws governed the presence of matter? Can matter create life today?

Look again at your closing statement . . . its laughable bro.
Its funny that theists find it easier to believe in an uncreated matter than to believe in the existence of God.

- you trip over urself with that statement. The basis for the existence of God is that He created all things . . . now if you believe energy and matter has no origin how different is that from believing that God has no origin? When next you start bellowing for proof of God's origin pls make sure you come armed with proof of the origin of energy and matter.

The key question is "Why do you misrepresent concepts you think are critical of you religious position? The honest man would not adopt this approach, but this has been your tactic all along. You misrepresent theories like Big Bang, evolution, etc, etc, because somehow you think they hurt your position.

The key question is "Why do you misrepresent biblical concepts you think are critical of your areligious position?

Deliberatel misrepresentation of the bible is a valid charge that you have tacitly acknowledged not once, not twice.

Now lets evaluate your own "charge". How do i misrepresent the big bang THEORY? By constantly reminding you that it is NOT A FACT BUT A HIGHLY UNLIKELY THEORY? That by somehow asking you how magnetic waves can generate life ON EARTH ONLY and an ordered biological system is misrepresentation?

That by wondering why the big bang contradicts the laws of conservaton of energy is misrepresentation?
That to wonder why a big bang could have occured out of nothing is misrepresentation?
That to wonder how an event could occur in the absence of time is misrepresentation?
That to wonder where on earth the molecules that caused the big bang appeared from is misrepresentation?

Mr. stop and understand the theories you peddle first before trying to pick holes in others.

huxley:

On the other hand, I have asked umpteen times "what the principal doctrine of Christianity is" and not surprisingly I get no answer from you. So do not criticise me (and other atheist) for misrepresenting your position. You fail to define your position and our knowledge of you position derives from our previous experience as Christians or from the various documents that describe Christianity.

My position is not new, its evident in the bible. Too bad you prefer to ferret for "contradictions" rather than focus on understanding what the bible actually stands for.

Again - you need to understand what honesty means.

From the urban dictionary:

Born again Christianity

A fail-safe term use, incase there is a heaven.

-Someone who is experiencing hard times, who is willing to accept anything to save them from dispair, even to go as low as christianity.
-About as difficult as writing your name down on a peice of paper

Tom: Hey Mark, I became a born again christian!!!
Mark: Wow man, I can relate, today I was able to bounce a ball of the wall and catch it!

Is this man for real? Using an urban dictionary to explain a concept that came into play 2000yrs ago when there was no urban dictionary? A term you could easily understand if you merely flipped through the pages of the bible?

Let me show you that your question is coming 2000yrs too late - John 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

What really is new in your position?

huxley:

Am glad you see yourself in this characterisation. In fact, I had you in mind as well as I wrote this one. Lets examine some of the reasons why I think you would fit this description.

I wasnt born last week, as soon as i saw the title of the thread i knew where you were going. Too bad you prefered to dishonestly dance around pretending to be impartially trying to understand the average christian. No one will ban you or remove your thread if you just come out and say what you've got to say.

huxley:

1) When challenge to explain and describe what scientist call Big Bang, you deliberately and dishonestly misrepresent. It is not that you cannot learn or find the correct description. You are more worried about the sense of disonance it would cause you, so it pays you to misrepresent. Can you show us that this is wrong? If you were a truly honest and learned man, you would reach out for the best scientific explanation for Big Bang. But as dishonest as you are, you dare not. Hahahahha smiley

That is the stupidity that most atheists don't even realise in their own position. What if i said the exact same thing but in this fashion - if you were a truly honest and learned man, you would reach out for the best rational explanation for the existence of God.

Nah i don't expect you'll notice the musical chairs you're playing. When it comes to christianity you want just ONE one-size fits all explanation, when it comes to science however you're ready to swallow specious theories, improbable speculation and unreasonable attempts at rationalising a lack of understanding . . . all the while pretending it makes you "learned".

If you seek conclusive proof that God exists, i'd expect you'd be able to provide conclusive proof too that rather than the notion of creation, the big bang was responsible for the existence of life. Up till now you're just grasping at straws.

You need to further understand the meaning of the word "honesty".

3) Pseudo-sophisticated Christian.

This type of Christian is sheer blooded-mindedly stupid and a zealot, all at once. They are particularly industrous and diligent in their attachment to Christianity and would continue to be so even if the bones of Jesus were to be discovered today and it was proven 100% that these were Jesus's bones. They do not care about the truth as much as their affiliation to a superstitious myth. Their industry means that they would have spent time and money investigating the various criticisms of theism and christianity but because they are committed to their position are impervious to reason. In fact, because of the sense of cognitive disonance they inevitably feel, they would tend to be even more zealous for their defunct ideas. The operative word for these types is intellectual dishonesty.

They like to engage others, christians and non christians alike in debates and even if caught lying or in dishonesty will rarely back down.

Examples of such are Kent Hovind and many apologist here on Niaraland such as . . .

Amazing how many people think they have a capacity to reason by virtue of being athiest. These same people would rather indulge in false fantasies of a big bang theory than believe a God could possibly exist. Talk of being impervious to reason.

Why there are so many Christian denominations?

Tell me, how can anyone justify their religion as right?

And please don't come preaching to me or quoting scriptures.  JUST ANSWER THE QUESTIONS.

Thanking you in advance  wink

John 3.

Your questions are yours to answer . . . if you don't believe your "religion" is right please by all means find something else.

What is even more amazing is the number of decietful people who claim to be "christians" stomping around claiming to be "asking questions". I find it interesting that you claim to understand the scriptures and yet dont seem to understand the significance of the gospel of John.

Indeed let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. Of them did the bible say - Matt 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

They can mouth the generic christian platitudes of "love, peace" . . . but deep down they have no Spirit in them. Dont waste time asking me questions, quite evidently you need to search your own soul. Better to be an outright sinner than to be a pretentious cherry-picking "christian".

Jesus Christ (not JC) said - John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

If you're not sure your "religious badge of hypocrisy" is right then Christ must have been lying in John 14:6.
