oluwakeminife:
Hello everyone, please I did biometrics with my husband on the 25th of August for a UK study visa in MRES. I'm the main applicant, my visa came out successful after seven days that is 2nd of September but my husband's own is still not out, it's going to be 15 days this Friday. Please can there be any problem?
There is no problem just yet...Wait patiently. But from my experience, when response takes this long from the UK embassy, it mostly does not get positive.

That is just my opinion from experience anyways... Pray and Hope for d best

Please how can I get JTB form in Lagos, I’m staying in Ajah. I need it to register for bolt as I’m awaiting capturing from driving license..

And also, can a 2009 v6 camry make a decent profit from bolt working on the island only.

Response are very much appreciated.

Health › Re: Abandoned At 2 Months, They Called Me A Burden. by dawnomike(m): 7:36am On Sep 10, 2025
RetroviralS:
My Story: From Abandonment, Abuse… to Purpose

My name means “gift from God.” But growing up, I never felt like a gift to anyone.

My mother abandoned me at 2 months old and never returned. I grew up with my father and grandmother. My father was civil but distant. My grandmother? She saw me as the cause of her son’s misfortune.

When I was 8, my father discovered he was HIV positive. My grandmother got me tested but said nothing. She only handed me drugs and told me to take them. From then, her attitude worsened.

As a teenager, the abuse became unbearable. I wasn’t allowed to play with other kids. If I disobeyed, I was beaten with wires, belts, even canes then drenched in pepper water. I ate with separate utensils, forbidden to share with anyone in the house.

At the hospital, where I went to collect my drugs, I joined Teenage Zone at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR). It was there I finally learned the truth: I was HIV positive.

Suddenly, I understood my grandmother’s cruelty. But I also found strength.

Today, despite everything, I rise with one declaration:

I WILL CONQUER!

A real life story form Generation Z+; By Amaka Haruna.

What do you think, Nairaland family? Shouldn’t we be changing the narrative around children born with HIV?
I totally agree with you that we should... I was once an advocate for PLWHA and a peer educator for Mcauthur foundation during my university days.

It is so disheartening to see that the public awareness on HIV/Aids has drastically gone down!!!

Those days, we have NACCA and SACCA during the days of Prof. Babatunde Oshotimyin always bring awareness programs and ads to our airways.

People must be continuosly reminded that AIDS is Real!!!

Sonnobax15:
Good day my fellow Nairalanders...Hope y'all are enjoying your weekend? cheesy. Well,I hope so cheesy

For the first time, lemme talk to my fellow men...This story which I'm about to share is a true life story....

There was this neighbor of mine, who was in his late sixties....A man whom I regarded and saw as a Father figure and indeed I had maximum respect for him.....He was a renowned contractor, and was very good at what his work......He had a wife and 3 daughters whom he neglected and never really cared and had time for...

But one thing I noticed and detested about him all through the time I spent with him when he was alive was his promiscuous lifestyle....He could hardly turn away his face whenever anyone on a skirt passed him by angry. And his love for women with fat and big backside was indeed out of the world, and funny enough,he referred to them as --"Heavy duty". ......I was more or less like his personal Keke driver because I used to take him and his workers to sites....

Then the sad reality about life happened and the same man who used to be very smart, agile and funny was down with an illness.....It took his family millions of naira, trying to save him but at last, all efforts seemed to be to no avail and he gave up the ghost on the last week of last July.....

Mods.... please do the needful,so that men can learn from this..

Tharmon:
I work as a sales boy in a shop were curtain accessories are sold and in this line of business some customers tend to owe not because they don't have but because they don't want to.

So there is this man that I know and he owes other people too, he should be in his forties and I'm 21, so he bought goods from my shop today worth #60k and told me he will pay me once he gets back from were he wants to use the items he bought so he decided to drop his phone because I didn't allow him to carry my goods without paying. so this evening when he arrived he was sweating and complaining that the customer has not paid blah blah blah..as usual of them

He couldn't even pay up the person that went to work with him complete. He tried explaining to me sweating and all that that what is left in his account is #35k which he paid to me but I didn't allow him to go with his phone, I turned deaf ears to his ranting and assured him he is not leaving there with his phone without paying the remaining balance of #25k. He had no other choice than to leave without his phone and now am worried if I have done something wrong .

Was I wrong to keep his phone? What would have been the right action I would have taken because I'm feeling very bad now like what will he tell his wife about his phone.

Mods pls move to fp🙏

You have to separate your church mind from business especially in Nigeria!!!
Your business should be a legal entity of is own and your business money is not yours in the first place... That's is your doing your business aright.

Since he was not paid, he should have brought back your items... Simple!

I need some advice. I’m currently working with a tier 1 mfb in Nigeria, earning 210k monthly with no targets. I’ve just received an offer from a commercial bank for the position of Relationship Manager (Marketing) with a salary of 480k. I’m not sure whether to remain in my current role or accept the new offer.
Accept the new challenge and put in your best all the way...

What is the name of the commercial bank...? who knows, I might just be your first major customer.

AjalaJ:
In 1951, two comics named Dennis the Menace launched.

One in the U.S. and another in the U.K.

Both starred a slingshot-wielding troublemaker. Same name, same character, same month.

Weird thing is…

There was zero communication between the two creators.

They lived in different countries, worked in different media, and published within days of each other, completely independently.

This is a textbook case of simultaneous discovery:

When the same idea pops up in different minds, in different places, at the same time—without collaboration.

It happens more than you might think.

For example:

In 1869, Dmitri Mendeleev said the periodic table came to him in a dream. That same year, Julius Lothar Meyer published nearly the same table—independently, in another country.

In 1876, Alexander Graham Bell and Elisha Gray filed for the telephone on the exact same day, despite working on it independently and with no contact. (Bell got there first by just a few hours… the rest is history.)

In the 1930s, Frank Whittle and Hans von Ohain built the jet engine—separately, without contact, in different countries. Both machines took flight within a decade.

The same happened with the discoveries of oxygen and calculus. With photography. With sunspots. With Neptune.

Different people. Different places. Same idea. Same time.

And, in 2025, it just happened again…

Not in a lab. Not in a university.
This is why when you have a wonderful idea pop up in your mind, you make the right moves as soon as possible.
