afam4eva: One can see why Africa will continue to be the way it is because we're suffering from inferiority complex and Nigeria is shoulder above others. This is the only country you'll be mandated for paying a fee for speaking your native language in school. The only country that you'll be looked down on for making a grammatical blunder in English. The only country where speaking English is a sign of being educated. The coming of the British have put our local language at the mercy of extinction yet our senseless leader are still telling us to learn Chinese and French. How many Chinese and French people are Nigerians going to meet in their lifetime compared to Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba. Instead of encouraging our kids to learn other African language in other to help foster unity in the country, these slaves are busy bringing new foreign languages everytime. If this were China, these people would have been shot in the eeye for even suggesting it. But it's Nigeria where stup1dity goes.

Btw, i expect out ACN apologist to come and defend this action.

SHAME!!!

afam4eva: For some reason, whenever the Nigerian anthem is being played i just don't feel anything. But whenever the US anthem is being played, it moves me. I get close to tears at times. Mind you i've never been to the US in my life. Why don't i feel anything when the national anthem of Nigeria is being played? Even the South African anthem moves me.

coogar: if sturridge cannot use his left foot to angle out a pass from that position then he should retire and let others have a shot in professional football....what does it take to slide a pass to torres between evra and evans? jeeeez!!!!!
Sturidge was standing on his left foot already, How would he make a pass with the same leg he is currently standing on?

Before Sturidge moved onto his left leg for the pass Torres was already in hiding perfectly hidden behind the opponent. Notice his left leg was raised to make the pass but where was torres? Hiding like Adam hid

nateevs: You know, it's amazing how they come up with so much bollocks. In-fact, there's never substantial back up for their claims. Torres is shit without explaining why. We are suppose to have their word for it.

Look at the second phase of analysis and savour the beauty of it. From the position Anelka receives the ball, Torres is going to make a run leftwards and score. How can someone claim that his positioning is bad or that he never makes the right run after watching this?

This is what Benitez means by Torres is one striker he knows who's capable of playing in between the lines. This is a scenario of smart passer meets right run. Anelka anticipates that Torres will make that run and he makes the pass "regardless" . . This is how we should play always! Make that pass regardless!

Anelka could have passed back to Meireles on his right but he chooses the early ball and bang Torres scores.
Look at that instant and see where Torres ran to?

www.nairaland.com/attachments/897091_TR4_jpgb0abb80f1bdda10e24e5e588ebbe383b

Can you see the space in front where Anelka can put the pass. Yes thats what we are talking about.

This shows Anelka or anyone can work with torres if he makes the right moves. This shows the problem isnt the midfielders but Torres who doesnt make the right moves. MAZACAR have played with several strikers before and understand their movements How is it that its only Torres they have a problem with. torres of 2008 would have played well with MAZACAR, not Torres of 2012

I bet that goal vs Man utd is more than a year old and Torres has lost it completely

coogar: you just nailed it........dayo would not return to type gibberish after this still picture....
look at sturridge - he was in the darker shade of the pitch and he should be releasing the ball from that position. the picture dayokanu is having epileptic fits about now shows sturridge in the lighter shade of the grass - that's about 6 yards distance and still - he hasn't even released the ball.

thank you very much for these still pictures - maybe now ibime and dayo would rest in peace!.

Now lets look at this pic critically, Sturridge was on his left foot and he can only make that pass with his left leg to Torres. he would need to take at least 2 steps before he can play the pass

On to the next pic, By the time he takes those 2 steps Torres has dissapeared to hide behind the United defender and the chance is gone.

This is exactly what Torres does time and again that frustrates his midfielders. Look at Hernandez and see how he moves , Do you ever see him making such Daft movement to go hide behind defenders rather he pulls aside on the shoulder and create room for the midfielder to hit the pass to

danjohn: I am not an Igbo man. I am a South Southerner. All I am saying is that Lagos is a melting pot and if ACN picked a non-indigene like Pat Utomi as their candidate, it will rebrand ACN to the rest of the South. It could also make Southeasterners less suspicious of ACN.

Nigeria needs to do away with the whole indigene/non-indigene crap. A person should be able to run for office in a place where they have established residence. Pat Utomi is a resident of Lagos, he is a well respected technocrat, and he will be a good person to continue the good work that Fashola has started.

Pat Utomi emerging as governor of Lagos will help ACN remove the regional perception the party currently has, and it will help the party make inroads into more states in the South and the North Central.

I know that this idea can make a person laugh the first time they read it but if you give it a second thought, it could start making sense cheesy.
If you want Nigeria to do away with the indege settler crap, Make a Yoruba man governor in your state then we would take you seriously. Until then No non Yoruba would rule a SWest state.

Who cares what other regions think about the ACN. Go to Anambra State you would see a Hausa man there, tell APGA to make him the Governorship candidate so APGA would not be viewed as a Igbo Party

Which 2 red shirts would the pass go through? Are those 2 red shorts pillars that they wont move? Compare this to the ones you posted about Hernandez earlier and see how much distance Chicharito puts between himself and the last defender without straying offside and compare this to Torres hiding behind the defender which I copied from Nateevs
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by dayokanu(m): 10:57pm On Nov 27, 2012
nateevs: Typical example of what the pro-Torres camp tries to pass across. Utd V Chelsea. Sturridge picks up from his half and runs into space right into the heart of the Utd defence. Torres intelligently makes a run wide, expecting that pass as seen in the pic 1 here. I draw a line to emulate where we all think the pass should go. That pass should be released early. Check out Pic 2 and see what Danny chooses to do instead.

In pic 3, I draw the path the ball would follow if Arsenal or Utd were playing. The understanding of build-up play at Utd and Arsenal is sublime. They will attempt to make that pass across goal. At Danny position on pic 2, the chance to find Torres is not totally lost. Instead see pic 3 for what Danny chooses instead. At pic 3, the chance is lost. He turns, almost falling, finds Mata on the right who then shoots with his right foot but the point is, Torres could have been set free on goal but it never happen.

There are a hundreds of scenarios I can pick from.
This is a good example of what I have been saying, By putting this out you just nailed what I have been saying about Torres.

In Pic 1 How would Sturridge get that pass to Torres ? Would he push the United defender out of the way. Use your knowledge of spatial geometry and plot how the ball would get to Torres from Sturridge without it being intercepted or you just want Sturidge to make that pass, get it intercepted and point to Torres to blame him for the missed chance?

www.nairaland.com/attachments/897032_Torres_run_jpgcb85bd9c1d31f78a2233af61b98b493c

I would look for some Hernandez gif and see what i told you about positioning. Hernandez in an earlier scenario pulls away from the defender to give the midfielder a bigger chance of hitting him with the pass not running into blind alleys or Hiding behind the defender like Torres is doing above

Look below and how Hernandez pulled away from his marker and gave the midfielder a wider space to hit the ball into without interception from the opponent

frosbel: Girl A. If your Son came back home with a girl who wore a mini skirt , bosoms hanging out, with layers and layers of make up, will you honestly approve of the relationship or marriage.

Or

Girl B . If your Son came back home with a girl who dressed all covered up , quiet, respectful and almost shy-like in attitude, will you consider her too out of date for your Son.

Suppose Girl A is more sweet , kind hearted and loving than Girl B , would you not rather try to speak to her with respect and love , so that she might consider her outward appearance or would you write her off almost immediately.

Suppose girl B is really a demon in full head gear and long dress, how would you know ? Surely this is not a pre-requisite for approving their relationship, no ?

I am trying to be balanced here.

Let me know your thoughts.
It depends on the size of the breast hanging out.
Back to Torres I think the biggest thing everyone is leaving out especially the pro-Torres camp is the fact that this dude is simply not the player he was at Liverpool (could it be he moved to the wrong club? Could it be his rash of injuries in the 09-10 season? Could it be his loss of confidence? Could it be that he has simply refused to adapt to his new environment)
Lethal acceleration missing,Killer first touch missing, let's face it this goes beyond Mata,Hazard,Oscar. Torres has regressed!
Nooo lailai. Its everyones fault.

Once he got to Chelsea Lampard, Anelka all stopped working. Once hazard, Mata and oscar got to play with Torres they conspired to be selfish and deny Torres passes.

The coach in Spain in Villas absence would rather play without a striker than Play Torres.

Even in the last 2 years, Xavi and iniesta too have been conspiring to feed only David Villa with passes and ignore Torres or what explains that Villa despite copping several injuries in the last 2 yrs has scored more than double of Torres goals in the NT

If a flurry of passes in anticipation of a Torres move happen time and again, it will be clear for everyone to see. Infact, Ibime will not need to post a still image to try to force an explanation, there will be live feeds.

Now post a gif of a flurry of passes towards Torres that continually eludes a proper Torres move. Only then can you match up with the incisive analysis that Coogar puts forward.
I hope you realize how stupidd this request is? You expect Mata to make a pass to Torres running in the opposite direction or putting his hands on his waist JUST TO PROVE Torres is a waste?

lemme ask you if you are a midfielder and the striker isnt making the run you would just lump the ball and show the fans that Torres is the problem? Or if your striker is offside you would still make the pass and be ruled offside just to prove what point?

nateevs: This is the part that irks me. It is insufficient to argue that just by playing Mata behind Torres, he will get supply. Yes Coogar and I argued that playing craftier players behind Torres "is capable of creating chances", it still all relies on the method of build up which is the core of the discussion.

If Ronaldinho plays behind Torres but the method of attack is phased and slow then we are back to square one. So instead of just assuming that our suggestions have not works, you should instead analyse if by playing MaZaCar behind Torres, the passes have really come in numbers.
So now its insufficient to play MATA behind Torres? The Mata that you advocated for last season suddenly became the problem now. Mata suddenly forgot how to play with Torres like you said he was doing last season At least the posts below all wont lie

You know the right parameters for judgement but your dishonesty has veered you toward Juve.

At least thats more honest than those asking us for GIFS of Mata playing the ball to nobody just to prove Torres isnt making the run.
grin grin grin
People want to see evudence of midfielders making passes into open space just to prove that Torres wasnt making the run.

Juan Mata that made 35 assists in his last 3 seasons in the La Liga now doesnt know how to assist players at Chelsea

Last season he had 13 assists in the league this season he already has 6 and not midway yet despite him missing a few games at the beginning.

The same Juan Mata who has excelled playing behind David Villa and Soldado but when it comes to Torres everyone stopped knowing how to play

Lampard that was a ball of fire stopped knowing how to play, Mata that was assisting and still assiting in bucketloads stopped that, Oscar Hazard that is assisting in bucketloads stopped doing that.

debosky: Yawn - so even when Torres wasn't on the pitch, MAZACAR couldn't make runs for themselves and produce the alleged 'flurry of passes'? Shebi Torres is the problem? cheesy
Torres is the problem because Torres is the striker the person who should receive passes

I see - so there were only 'a couple' of chances created (2 shots on goal)? Again I ask, why didn't they create a 'flurry of chances' since the single impediment called Torres was absent? Is there a law that says 'short passes' cannot create goals? cheesy

Two shots on goal in an entire game, Torres only coming on in the 71st minute and he is the problem. cheesy
This is taking daft to a new low. How many chances do you expect Chelsea to create vs Juventus in Turin?

How many chances did Chelsea of Last season create against Bayern in Munich, or against Barcelona in Nou Camp where they played a similar tactic to the one deployed in Turin

Turin is one of the toughest destinations in Europe. A team that won Serie A unbeaten, An Italian team? The Italian Champion? The best Italian team currently you are expecting 15 clear chances on their goal? If I need to be telling you that then really HOW LOW CAN WE GO?
