DK is a dimwit of epic proportions.

If Cesc was a 'star' by virtue of his age-grade success, then Sinama-Pongolle was a similar 'star' yet he flopped.

In DK's warped and degraded head, any young player that succeeds at Arsenal was a star before he joined, but those that failed were not stars before they joined. grin
You are a demented orangotang.

Pongolle was a star and he flopped, Who says Stars dont flop? Zlatan at Barca, Denilson at Betis, Shevchenko at Chelsea etc were stars that flopped.

I give you players like Cashley, Wilshere, Sczezny are your youth players but not Cesc who was already the star of a FIFA tournament.

Someone who was already a star at a FIFA/UEFA tournament cant be credited to you.

Before Toni Kroos went U17 in 2007 he was already known in most circles in Europe.

If Lukaku had joined Chelsea last season, Would he be considered a Chelsea youth product?

Same with pato/Milan,

I think your friend would probably get married and have a better home than you.

You have 4 boyfriends who are taking their turns on you, These boys know themselves and are telling other guys in Atlanta how cheap you are .

In the next 2-3yrs every guy in the City would know that you get down with anything, infact you can phock a gun till it releases.

While your friend is probably still low on mileage.

How many guys would want to marry a wife that has been with half of the men in ATL?

Kudos to you for getting a friend thats uglier than you to make you feel better

^^ Pongolle and LeTallec wont be products of the Liverpool Youth System More of Le havre

ritchboy:
How can you call a player who was already average before joining an Arsenal youth?
The motive for grooming players is to become stars. One is already a star so what work are you doing on him.

Fab was already a star. Le tallec and Pongolle flopped at Liverpool they were Le havre youth players

What work are you doing by putting an already baked bread in an oven vs when you put dough in the oven?

So if Arsenal bought Pele at the age of 17 when he was already a FIFA star he would be called an Arsenal youth?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Offical Bayern Munich Fan Thread: 6x Champions Of Europe by dayokanu(op): 5:30pm On Aug 04, 2011
Starting with this season the DFL is launching a centralized statistical data collecting method (though clubs can still do their own thing if they want) for each match game. There will be a range of physical player data (like total meters run per player, number of sprints and where on the pitch they took place, etc) as well as technical-tactical data (like detailed pass statistics, forward passes, passes into the offensive third, etc) collected not only for each game but also for each player and the data will be available immediately to clubs, coaches and media outlets who want to have them.

- meters run / running distance in halftime 1 and 2
- average velocity with ball and without ball
- sprints (runs with a speed faster than 24 km/h): number, length, position on the pitch
- regeneration time after sprints in minutes and seconds
- intensive runs (speed faster than 17 km/h): number and length
- slow runs (runs below 8 km/h): duration and distance
- headers: on goal, off goal
- shots: on goal, off goal
- aerial duels: won and in percent
- position on the field in 1st and 2nd half (-> heat map)
- played passes: completed succesfully and in percent
- forward passes: completed succesfully and in percent
- passing matrix: who is passing to whom and how often and vice versa
- possession: won and lost

I nor understand DK again o, he has got some gbese to settle with Arsene in the next world. grin grin

okay, DK to try and acheive some sort of devil's truce here, if we agree to remove the "Youth Policy" tag and call it a "Young Professional" policy would that suffice? undecided
Note that the Nomenclature is an attempt to differentiate between those developed fully in house (15 and below), the fruits of which we are just starting to see, and those that came between 15 and 18 after showing some promise from other clubs or starring in Youth competitions of any sort (FIFA, UEFA or CAF).

The major point I'm trying to help yu see is that it is wrong to label Owusu Abeyie a failure of the Arsenal youth/young professional policy or whatever yu choose to call it and refuse to label Cesc Fabregas a success of that same policy when they both arrived at London Colney at the age of 16 with the difference between them being that one had been dropped by his previous club due to attitude problems while the other had just being named the Golden Player in both UEFA and FIFA youth competitions. You either say both are not Arsenal youth players and start to judge the Arsenal youth policy from Wilshere/Lansbury/Gibb's set or accept that both are products of the same policy with one being a success and the other a failure.
My point is if you buy a player who has already shown promise in a FIFA, UEFA competition.

E.g Waidi was the star at the UEFA or FIFA U17, and was a Bolton youth, after the tournament Wigan buys him and 3 yrs later he became a star which Youth team should he be credited to?

Also Owusu Abeyie is different from fabregas

Owusu Abeyie has achieved nothing at Ajax as a 16yr old, Fabregas while playing for Barca youth team has been Highest goal scorer and Player of the tournament at a FIFA tournament.

Would you now combine the two in the same bag,

Owusu has not played a game for Ajax senior team same with Fabregas Thats where the similarity ends.

One was a Youth star at a FIFA tournament and known worldwide one an unknown player who people had doubts about, Wenger bought him to turn into a world beater and we see the result right now.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread (for Arsenal Fans) by dayokanu(m): 5:17am On Aug 04, 2011
My questions are very concise and require specific answers

see bold

dayokanu:
Any player who has made first team appearance at another club can not be said to be your youth player

E.g If a club should buy Jack Wilshere last season when he was under 18, Can they also claim he was their youth player? or if Bolton buys Benik Afobe can they claim he was their youth player?

Fabrice Muamba which club would he claim as his youth team, Arsenal, Birmingham or Bolton
therefore players like Walcott, Clichy, Song etc dont qualify as Arsenal youths cos they have played first team football elsewhere.

Any player who has starred in a FIFA organised tournament before joining cant be said to be a youth of your club.

E.g Should someone buy Toni Kroos in 2007 after being the best player at a FIFA tournament Would he be considered a Chelsea youth or

If Palermo bought Pele after winning the World cup at age 17, Would he be considered a Palermo youth?
Cesc was already a star at a FIFA tournament before joining Arsenal

Denilson is not one of your youth

How can you count Theo that was more expensive than most of your first teamers as a youth product?

Maybe Ronaldo and Rooney would be counted as Man Utd youths

Even if a youth policy produced 3 players in 7 years then that is major progress considering that the first set would need 4 years to clock 20 first if they are brought in at 16, effectively meaning 1 per year. If it continues at the same rate, it will produce about 5 in 10 years.
But FYI, youth recruited starters for Arsenal as things stand now include Wilshere, Cesc, Theo, Szczesny and Gibbs. That is 5 and not 3. tongue
So where does Barcelona feature in the history of Cesc or where does Southampton feature for Wankott?
