Hello If IHS was refunded that's an indication that she has been denied 2. If you haven't gotten a feedback by the end of the week chase to request the status. Remember we had some bank holidays for Easter and some coming up in May Cheers Lochinny91: Good morning everyone! Pls i need your advice. I am currently in the Uk with my family on study visa. Came here February. I applied for my dependent to join me (adopted child). SHe couldn’t apply when we applied because the papers weren’t complete and I had a deadline to meet( I even did priority visa to meet up) Now, her passport has been at DMC since 13th of March and I’m yet to hear anything from them. 2 weeks ago, I sent a paid email and i got a response that they have a backlog of applications and that ours is still being considered. Then last week Tuesday or so, i saw a refund of the IHS that was paid for her. The exact amount. I felt she might have been denied but up till now, almost a week after, I’m yet to get any mail concerning her passport and if i track it, it shows still at DMC. Pls what do i do? I’m really confused. Thank you |

Hello 1. Yes he can apply from Kenya 2. As long as his flight arrives same time or perhaps after you, then he can travel same day you are travelling, however, it will be better if you arrive first and he travels the next day, simply because you may not get same arrival time and if he gets into the UK before you, he will be asked to return because the MA who he depends on hasn't arrived yet. Cheers resolution2020: Good day everyone!
Please guys, I am the MA and I would like my husband to go with me as my dependant, but my husband lives in Kenya, is it possible for him to apply as dependant from Kenya and do his biometric in Kenya and travel to the UK from Kenya the same day I will travel from Nigeria?
Please your contribution will be highly appreciated.
Thank you! |

I'd like to ask if a joint account can be used for POF (in MA and Dependent's name)
If the answer is YES, is there a need for MA to write a consent letter during application?
Thanks in anticipation. |

Hello Yes unfortunately you can't bring your dependant because your time spent each session is just 6months , not longer and not up to 9months for conditions 1 or 2(see screenshot) There's nothing you can do ,if you apply for your dependants visa he /she will be denied Cheers Teetoh29: Thank you for your response ma'am.
The university immigration team stated to me that the duration for the first semester and last semester in Reading is only for 6 month each and different cas will be issued to me at the beginning and ending of the course and that I am illegible to come with a dependent even though the course is 2 years and a full time course.
Please is there anything I can do?
And do you think I can still go ahead and apply for visa for my dependent and I?
I am so confuse right now.
Kindly respond @dduchess90 and other gurus

Hello It's always best to say the truth even if you can't remember. You can put an approximate date (If you say 16years ago you are looking at 2007) and in the comments/reasons/details say you don't remember the exact reasons, the dates are approximates and not precise and don't have a copy of the refusal. Also if you didn't have issues at that time that would have resulted in a ban then refusals are usually generic like not enough evidence to show hometies etc If your Uni doesn't proceed in giving you CAS move to the next Uni With immigration details, keep it clean and truthful as much as possible Cheers Sard: Please, someone should help me. I'm answering a pre-cas questionnaire for a UK school.
They're asking if I have a visa refusal before. I've one 16 years ago (Republic of Ireland). But the problem is that I don't know why or have any evidence of refusal. I can't even find the passport used then.
What should I do? |

Hello Whilst there are Uni's that shy away from people with past refusals, it is always best to declare your immigration history with both Uni and UKVI Simply because if anything goes wrong and there is cause to request for a refund, it is easier to do so when there are no discrepancies in information provided between Uni and UKVI Will some Uni's not accept applications because of past refusals -Yes, is it best to hide or lie in such situation- No. The number of Unis that will refuse such are a small fraction compared to the majority that will proceed regardless of past refusals and in some cases bans that have been fully served. Cheers LiftedMan: @dduchess90, is this true? |

Hello 20 hours per week is the visa conditions you shouldn't flaunt, if they wanted conditions based on cumulative hours you would have been advised Stick to 20hrs max per week only Cheers DANIREM: Good day NL. Please i want your contribution on the issue of 20hrs per week. That is 80hours per month. My question is this, If someone does not work up to 20hrs on a particular week says like 8hours and subsequent weeks he or she works 24hrs, 20hrs,14hrs,14hrs per week and doesn't exceed 80hours monthly. Hope this won't cause any issue thereafter. |

Hello First was the TB test the reason for refusal which I highly doubt? 2. Did he do the second test in a UKVI recommended hospital? If not he should. If he got it the first time with IOM then that he should do same with IOM or other UKVI recommended hospital Not sure what the concerns are tbh Cheers Tboy243: Good day everyone.
I would like to ask for a friend about TB test;
He did his TB test January at IOM to apply for his student's Visa. Results showed he had an abnormal chest x-ray as something was discovered in his lungs. He was asked to do sputum test which would take weeks for results to be out, but he refused saying he has no TB and that doing the test would cause delay in submitting his visa application and could cause him to loose the school's sponsorship. To cut the story short, he was given his certificate after serious plea but was advised to carry out further examination on his own to check what could be causing the abnormalty in the X-ray. Unfortunately his Visa was denied.
On carrying out further checks, my guy did another x-ray which came out as abnormal again but his doctor said it was nothing to worry about that all lungs can not be thesame and that he should go and carry out blood test as he said he (my friend) said he couldn't produce sputum. The blood test result came out negative.
He's now preparing to reapply for his visa as he was able to defer his admission till September.
Bosses, any suggestion on how he can get his TB certificate without being asked to do sputum test since his personal checks revealed that he has no TB? Also, is the blood test result tenable or presentable? Is it acceptable in TB test centres to proove he doesn't have TB?
Sorry to bore you with the long stories. I'd appreciate your suggestions so that I can advise him accordingly. Thank you. |

Hello Check in with other UKVI recommended hospital regarding this https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/tuberculosis-test-for-a-uk-visa-clinics-in-nigeria/tuberculosis-testing-in-nigeriaMake sure you let them know how the treated regime, the x-rays you have had and IOMs issues Cheers Loko40: Good evening all,
I just don't know what to do about this situation of mine.
I did my TB test last June and I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Tuberculosi. I took the medications as it was instructed for six months without missing a day. I finished the treatment in January. All along, 2nd, 5th and 6th month sputum test was carried out that says I am cleaned. The last month chest x-ray says my chest is still abnormal. The last month (6th) sputum was the same day as the x-ray.
Now, I got the results of the last month sputum on 2nd of April, which still shows I am clean. Then I proceed for another x-ray on the 5th of April, in order to process my new admission. The x-ray results showed abnormal as it has been shown previously. I thought my sputum results should be valid since I just got it few days before the x-ray, but IOM said no that since the x-ray is abnormal that I must undergo another 8wk sputum test again.
I don't think this is fair. The doctors had told me that the regimen is 6 months plus 8weeks of the last month sputum period.
I don't just know what to do!!! |

Hello 1. You should have the balance of your tuition after paying the deposit plus the evidence of your maintenance for 9months in the UK The maintenance will depend on the location of your Uni ,if your Uni is within London it will be £1334 x 9months, if it is outside London it will be £1023 x 9months Add that up and you should know what the figure is in pounds, then use Oanda to convert that to Naira- Remember to leave room for currency exchange fluctuations Cheers kinkyhead: Pls what amount of money should be in the POF or bank statement that you will present to the school before CAS can be issued to you? Do they want to see the total sum of tuition or the required deposit in the statement of account? I am confused abeg |
