2. Transit visa is not required for 3hours layover in Istanbul as long as you don't leave the airport. You need time to find your boarding gate anyway

Your POF can be in your account if you choose too, spouses can sponsor
each others study in the UK.

You will need to provide a letter of consent that she will have access to the funds in the account.

2. During your visa application also fill the home office consent letter part 1,2 or as it relates

3. Ensure you provide solid evidence that your relationship/marriage is substantial

4.Your POF is for her study in the UK, it should be used for that purpose

An error,they will send you a link to pay your IHS if your visa is approved

IHS has nothing to do with work, it's your health insurance for the duration of your stay in the UK and covers some basic healthcare

Thanks for the great work with providing answers. Please I have a couple of questions:

1. Is it compulsory for a wife dependant to do a change of name before applying for visa? If yes, would she also need to change name in her passport? Or the affidavit and newspaper report would suffice?

2. Can the MA and Dependant use the same account for POF with the total required amount? In this case, it's a joint account.

3. Does the MA need to provide original copy of his transcript for visa application? He currently has the student copy which he used to get admission.

If that is the case and there is no transaction as such

You can reprint the statement,I will advise perhaps from 1st Feb or any date before the 22nd so it covers the duration the ECO is referring to and write a cover letter explaining the NSF received and that there isn't a single transaction with the said sum of xyz amount on the account.

Refer the ECO to the new reprinted statement

The statement starts from 22nd and only debit transaction occurred 500 and 10526, no further transaction for the date. What we notice is the amount coated in the nsf is the opening balance.

Still blurry but from what I can see the dates on this statement starts from the 23rd, did your friend submit a statement from 22nd reflecting the sum the ECO is querying??

Is there a transaction as such??

If not it may have been an error

Your Uni will let you know how referencing is done, some will request for letters other have a referencing automated systems where you will need to provide your referees email address.

When you start the process you will know which one is which

1. If the bank is regulated by the CBN and the account is an accessible one i.e savings or current account in a mortgage bank that should be fine

2. For transcripts,it depends on your Uni, some are happy with transcripts others insist on certificate, confirm from your Uni

3.Your POF is for your study in the UK, it shouldn't be running or be withdrawn except it is used for the purpose of your study for instance to pay for accommodation,if that is the reason then keep the evidence so you can provide it if requested.Any other reason is full on deceit and you will get banned for 10years if caught also I don't comment on those situations

2. MA has own POF in his account, although splitted in domicilliary and naira account. Should he submit both alongside that of the spouse?

3. The idea of cover letter is awesome. MA should attach, detailing his own and the spouse statements and any in-betweens. And maybe miscellaneous as well; such as relationship with the spouse, how long they have been together and more.

My boyfriend got admitted to do his masters at the university of Hull. I want to join him as a dependant, but we are having issues getting a marriage certificate, have gone to ministry of interior here in Port Harcourt they told me he has to be around so a marriage can officially be conducted, I tried explaining to them that he already traveled but they insist on him begin around. I would like to know of there is a way I can go about it.

Another thing is that he applied as single when he was applying to the school. Will this affect him in anyway?

It depends

1. If the MA is in the UK he/she will be presenting tuition receipt, rent, bills etc so far since his arrival plus the balance in his account

2.The duration can differ, ideally it should be minimum 1month, what some interesting ECOs ask for is POF evidence since the MAs application till date, if the MA has that then he/she can submit it.

3.A cover letter usually helps to clarify things.

1. You need to meet the usual requirements for spouse dependant visa i.e maintenance,IHS,visa and evidence to show your marriage/relationship is real

2. When you have to travel to other countries for study, she can apply for a Schengen visa if you want her to join you.

You just need to justify why you are doing so via you SOP

All these qualifications matter, do not ignore them

Yes you can submit only your company reference letter even though it's not needed as your gap is less than 5years

2. You can submit an updated (correct) CV to your Uni so they update their records, a simple email with apologies saying there are errors in the old CV should suffice(this is optional but advisable)
