Dede1:Well, my dad is as stubborn people like you, especially trying to educate him whilst still a boy. As you know, or maybe you don't, older people in our culture always consider younger ones as having little knowledge. I cannot monster courage to convince anybody? I wouldn't be responding to a reta.rd like who doesn't know his otherwise. Each of your post illustrates your confusion. Could you just answer the simple question of whether or not you support Osu? ChinenyeN is brave enough to make his stand known. Grow a pair. |
ChinenyeN:I asked you to educate me, not because I do not know the story of Osu, but for you to justify your stance. The justification for my stance is that it is immoral and archaic, and was one dark side of our culture, just like slavery is to Europeans and Americans. Thus my request for you to educate me is an implicit call for you to justify your stance. |
Dede1:Here is what you said before: Osu is a machination of unfortunate circumstance and I am glad such practice has been terminated in Igbo land. You just proved what you are, a classic m.oron. Except in your mind that blackness translates to negativity, I don't see why u should have a problem with that. I am black and have no problem being described as such. What's up with you and your denial/contradictions? Stick to an opinion and stop flip flopping. |
ChinenyeN:Exactly, that is why I asked you to educate me on the subject. |
ChinenyeN:Whites enslaved our forefathers because they took them to be less human. Tell me, I still don't get it, what exactly did the Osu's do, or what do we take them as that has outlived slavery? What are their sins that is beyond redemption? Please, educate me. And did I mention to you, I am a true believer of Igbo culture. This has absolutely nothing to do with Christianity, which I have little or no believe in. |
ChinenyeN:You live in your little world and need to suffer discrimination. I read your posts and it is sad to know that young people still support this system. Tell me, what makes you different from an Osu? If you think bad aspects of culture should not be discarded, then why are we no longer killing twins? It is a shame young people with this kind of mentality bears human DNA. I thought evolution would have taken care of this. |
Dede1:Yeah, this is coming from someone who said Osu has been terminated in Igbo land. Is is denial or are you just too d.umb to remember your own stance on issues? |
Dede1:You are a latent dullard who would refer to Africans as “black” and still frown at Osu. Africans are White, right? In South Africa for instance, how do you differentiate Africans from European settlers? They are not called European South African's, they are are called Whites, and the Africans blacks. Hope that has sunk into your thick skull. It is only in the figment of your deluded imagination that every African in USA would be regarded as slave. Why would Obama be termed a slave? Is his Irish American mother or Kenyan father a slave? Again, you reveal your poor level of understanding. In my original post, I said if slavery still existed in the US, Obama would be a slave. So African's living in the US weren't slaves? Were biracial children in the US during the slave era not treated as one? I doubt you know a thing about slavery. Osu is a machination of unfortunate circumstance and I am glad such practice has been terminated in Igbo land. Oh really, it has been terminated? So why are the royal fathers meeting and why are we having this conversation? It is wasteful thing to run your putrid mouth when a punk such as you could not break the stigma in your autonomous community where you loftily claimed a father as “king”. Again, you typify your poor level of understanding. Where in my posts did I refer to my father as a King? I guess you do not know the meaning of a traditional ruler. If you can not possibly marry Osu to backup your irrelevant rant on Internet, I urge you to shut the hell up. How exactly do you know that? You seem to be confused frankly. One post, you sound like you support the system and the next you like it is an injustice that exists no more. It is wrong, and can never be justified. |
Dede1:You are the biggest mo.ron if you do not understand the point I was making. Obama would have been a slave in today's America because he is black. Is that too difficult to comprehend? |
thosedays: Metalgoong: Dede1: ChinenyeN: panteleonk:Let me start by saying that I am not an Osu or Umeh or whatever. My dad is a traditional ruler who is in support of the Osu caste system. I remember having a discussion with him once about it, which ended up making him really mad. The above quoted comments will probably resonate well with my father, but it I see it as the highest level of ignorance that one can display, especially in the 21st century. I am a very proud Igbo man, who really loves my culture. What I love most about us is that we are hardworking and believe in the freedom of religion. However, this Osu system is probably what I hate most about our culture and anyone who promotes it deserve to be stuck in the slave trade era. I am not speaking from a religious point of view, I don't really consider myself a Christian. I consider myself more of a traditionalist, so why shouldn't I be in favour of the age old tradition? I can't quite tell how Osu and Umeh originated. But let us argue that culture and tradition should be maintained and not changed. The consequence? Obama would be a slave. Every black man in the US would be a slave. I, living in Europe would be a slave. You think it is horrible right? Well, those were White people, doing it to people they considered were less human, so it should be easier to justify. Speak in favour of slavery in the civilised world now and they probably would put you in a museum as an archeological discovery. How about discriminating against your OWN brother, who speaks the same language and shares the same cultural value with you? That is the ultimate, the worst form of discrimination that you can do. It is really sad that young and educated Igbos can espouse the views quoted above. It just shows that you guys are stuck in ignorance and deserve no place in a modern Igbo society. I salute the royal fathers for their stance. Time to end discrimination against our own. And for you guys who wish for the system to continue, I hope you travel out of your little world to where you would be discriminated against. Classic M.O.R.O.N.S. |
God's business is the best business Come on guys, allow the man enjoy. The money was donated to him by his sheep, which most Nigerians unfortunately are. |

dayokanu:Biafran soldiers only fought to defend themselves. In any situation, the aggressors are the ones to pay compensation. The Germans paid compensation to the French for their aggression despite some Germans losing their lives. In the case of the Biafrans, clearly, the aggressors were the Nigerian entity (all the aggressive none Igbo tribes i.e Hausa (evilest people on earth), Yoruba's, and their colonies (minorities in between) and everything the Biafrans did was to ensure their survival. It is time for Nigeria to pay for their inhumanity against the most peaceful Christian nation (Igbo's) in Africa. |
lucabrasi:Waiting to collect the USD 150 trn first. |
Just wish both groups can kill themselves to extinction. They are no good to this country. I rather be in the 'safe' hands of Boko haram than the Nigerian police. Hell, Nigerian police has killed more victims than the Boko's. If it was a civilian that was killed, chances are that we wouldn't know about it. It happens daily. The army probably belong to the same category, and treat civilians like filth when they get the chance. Please, kill urselfs, we might be better off. |
As a former Biafran soldier, I am not interested in the peanut being offered by Jonathan. What is 1.5 billion s.tupid naira in comparison to the atrocities committed against the Biafrans? The federal government should rather pay USD150 trn (One hundred and fifty trillion United States Dollars) for the killings, violation, genocide, marginalization, exclusion, exploitation and deprivation channeled against the Igbo nation. This money will also serve as compensation for the economic progress that would have been achieved by the Biafran nation (easily surpassing Japan, Israel and China combined together) had the evil British empire not forced us to live with the wild wild North (a.k.a Buharistan). I urge Jonathan to do the right. IMF, UN, World Bank, United Kingdom (I wish I can get my hands on that Lugard) should make the money available. Biafran shall seek independence if this conditions are not met within the shortest possible time. Otherwise, brace urself for the real Ogbunigwe ![]() |

My solution to depression? Do nothing. After a while you get used to it and it and depression becomes ur second nature. That way, u can turn depression to fulfilment :-) ![]() |
Ok, so GEJ rigged in Bauchi State and got 1,000,000 votes less than Buhari? And Buhari didn't rig? Where are the more than 1,300,000 voters in Bauchi? There is no doubt GEJ rigged, but Buhari also rigged and there is a huge evidence of underaged voters in the North. Rigging is unfortunate, but there is no doubt that half of the northern votes probably came from cattle and under 10 voters. |
Akosbaba:82 years Northern Islamic cleric probing the massacre of Southern Christians? If this story is true at all, then I really will be skeptical about the mental capacity of Mr. President. An 82 yr old man should be retired. I am sure there are younger less religious fundamentalists who have the objectivity to hold that position. I wonder what GEJ studied for his PhD, moronism? |
I was just telling this to my sister the other day. I HATE wig, weave on and attachment. I also hate the way Nigerian ladies put on make up. Frankly, I really don't care if my girl friend shaves her hair, just leave it clean. It is really disgusting the make up and other additions that most girls put on at times. |
I can't say if Rocha's Okorocha is a good guy. HOWEVER, politicians will want to perform when they know that reelection is not automatic. I feel sad for my state Abia. |

LeoMax:I agree with your comment but the highlighted quote. Those killed were not in poling booths, they went to their lodges and killed them. And there will continue to be more NYSC victims as long as they keep sending them to the north to serve. If the southern politician have brains at all, they should vote to scrap NYSC. The North will suffer most as they are the ones who benefit mostly from the exercise. Most of their schools lack teachers. And believe me, I was the only professional in my profession in the hospital where I served. Still, I could have been part of statistics. |
