This hotel with 113 rooms by the catholic diocese of warri was constructed in 7 months to host the Bishop conference in 2014.
Guess how much was spent to build it, with all the rush, day and night workers... #1billion. i wonder why our politicians are so heartless.

I think I will be reconsidering the oneness of this country o. Just imagine. The should contact channels TV, I trust mope, they will call igp and the sharia council on air straight .

deandavid I am a Buhari supporter but I disagree with your number 7. A good many items on that list are not necessarily "luxury" items please. Also you don't restrict importation outrightly without even trying to put policies in place for supporting the local production or semi industrialisation of such products in the near or immediate future. These include at Infrastructural (power inclusive), regulatory, finance (long term and mid term credit and tax exemptions, interest rate lending) and port reforms (including mandatory sighting of a valid bank issued Form M and closing loopholes to counter smuggling.
your argument is very correct, but all this is actually necessary in a saner society, not in Nigeria, we are just too adamant to changing our ways, the hard way is usually the best way for us. my sister, just think it through, if we say, we want to wait for light and all those policy and laws to be put in place first, u will see our national assembly, debating for two months, stakeholders meeting here and there, committees here and there, just turning round a circle, Buhari is just one man, we dont expect him to go and start making tooth pick for us, all those people involved in the importation of these stuffs should source the materials locally. for Nigeria, na when e don reach die minute we dey serious, Buhari has created a die minute for us, let us start facing locally made products. if we wait for policy, infrastructure and what have u, so go dey here 20 years. lets start now, lets make use of what we have on ground, we will learn and improve on the job.

So what about the price of rice in the market now? I guess, you must be a fan of Buari. Buhari close border and he said we should be eating our local rice and no solid plan that can back this action up. There are no government supports to farmers. Now let's me ask you this question; does Buhari eat any of our local rice? The answer is capital NO. It is we the masses that will be suffering from this situation.
My friend.. o yes i am a buharist, well if he closed the borders to stop importation of rice and other food stuff, then that is a step in the right direction. No solid plan? yes no solid plan and the price of rice will go up, good, thats what will sure make us get serious. for so many years we have been oil dependent, people have been shouting, diversify, the leaders refuse to listen, now the oil price has deepen, we are now running up and down, if we had diversify long ago this wouldn't have affected us. so also if we dont lock away those Thailand rice our local production can never be boosted and the govt will not be serious about it. so banning rice importation is a welcome development. its now time to invite all stake holders involved in the production of those banned product, to know the way forward.
BusinessOne Dollar Is Equal To 197 Naira by deandavid(op): 8:49pm On Feb 25, 2016
DOLLAR = N197
Please let me explain to those of us who don't understand Economic terms. Dollar has not increased since Buhari became president
1. Dollar is not our currency so dollar should not be our business
2. Our problem is not d government but
our problem is our importers and consumers
3. Naira has remained at 197 naira to 1 dollar since Buhari became president
4. Buhari has promised not to devalue the Naira and he has maintained that promise
5. Both at CBN and at interbank rates,
dollar has remained 197
6. However because we are too lazy to produce what we use in Nigeria we import even toothpicks and matches
7. Buhari does not like d importation of luxury goods because luxury goods is d reason for most corruption, that is why he banned 41 products from having access to forex
8. However when Nigerian importers insisted on importing those 41
products, FG asked them to find their dollar at d BDCs parallel market also known as black market
9. And to discourage the pressure Nigerians are mounting on the Naira just to get dollars for importation, CBN banned DMBs from selling dollars to BDCs
10. To survive the pressure of excess
dollar demands, BDCs resorted to sourcing for dollars from neighbouring countries through illicit money laundering routes
11. Because of the risks faced by BDCs to source for dollars, and because of the increase in demand for dollars by importers because China just resumed from their business holidays, BDCs keep increasing the price at which they exchange dollars to naira and now it is 400 Naira to 1 dollars
12. However that does not mean
that govt has changed the exchange rate because if our genuine importers go to CBN and fill Form M to import raw materials for local production, they will get dollars at 197 naira each
13. So the problem is that we love to consume luxury foreign products yet we are too lazy to manufacture them here.
14. For example u will see a dull girl using
iPhone 5 without even knowing simple physics and computer engineering part of how that phone was produced
15. I want Buhari to ban every foreign
product from Nigeria until Nigerians learn to produce and use Made in Nigeria products
16. Let us stop complaining about dollar as if dollar has become Nigeria's currency
17. It is even bad enough that most of those complaining about the high exchange rate of dollar do not have 1 single dollar in their purse.

I don't understand why some people here are saying that a bomber who was actually caught with IED deserve an award. Which award? My foot! It's just like giving Shekau an award for turning himself in(if that ever happens)
Why did she agree to bomb in the first place? She shouldn't be spared, so as to teach others some lesson.
Btw, awards are given to hardworking and selfless people who have done one good or the other for development
Girl are you even thinking? Suicide bombing/terrorism is an ideology that cannot be fought with just intelligence and warfare, it needs a higher and better ideology to dislodge and eventually win this war. the best way to handle this girl is to proclaim her a Hero, give her awards, scholarship, like Malala, hype her so much that even the captured girls will hear that one of their partners, who was sent to detonate a bomb and refused is being praised and turned to a Heroine. We need to think beyond this terrorist, we need to discourage the girls, let the girls have reasons to think twice even after being brainwashed. If the girl is arrested or killed or even kept or returned to her parents just like that, it will be counter productive. Now this is a test of intelligence for our govt.

How many times do you see other people of other tribes come on a public forum to berate their own kinsmen on a perceived "shortcoming"?
Or you think all of them are of sterling characters - no bad eggs amongst them?
If you feel there's something about the Igbos you need to address ( assuming you're Igbo yourself),there are better ways to do that. You can even start from your own very community instead of coming on a public forum to make this kind of statement.

If a Deputy Governor can not stand in for the Governor as prescribed in our Constitution, what is the need having one? Governor Okowa elected and given the mandate by the people to govern Delta state. The Ministers and other members of Federal Government delegation are mere civil servants and Presidential appointees. In Nigerian protocol ranking they are far below the Deputy Governor. Consequently what the Federal Government delegation did was a clear breach of protocol and humiliating insult to the people of Delta State.
i concur, even though i know, okowa wasnt voted by the majority of Deltans, but right now he is the seating gov, and delegated his deputy.i am an APC member, a strong buhari supporter, but then, what the minister and his entourage did his an insult on the people of Delta State, you dont come to my house to form actor, the locals are suppose to lead you to the site, it doesnt have to be the governor, when the governor is not dispose, the deputy should stand in, thats the reason why principal officers have deputies. the minister is indeed a learner and should be warned. I made a similar rant here. It is good to know that more concerned indigenes are getting tired of the situation.

The problem however is that we are a tiny minority.

The monarchs are effed up, the community leaders (youth, elders) r effed up, those with considerable influence don't mind because small millions dey knack their account every month, the youths no send (dem dey look Ateke, Tompolo, Boyloaf, Ayiri, dey feel say d country dey reward thuggery), even the ordinary people dey follow the "suffer and smile" code. All of it turns my stomach.

Tell me how do you effect change when 99% of the populace are either involved or do not mind? I'm sad that by the time they would realize, we would have nothing going on for us (oil fit don finish or no too get value again).

So yes, the youths are cursed, the elders are, the land is.

As much as youths in delta have not leaved up to expectations, and few are being used by politicians, coming out here to lay a broad accusations on all delta youths is unwelcome. Have u been to other states before, especially Lagos, those young men who collect shandies at the bus stops, who are they? And what are their political pedigree. What of nurtw in the south west? As for James ibori, u may not like him, but he remains the Godfather of delta politics and pls he is not more corrupt than ,tinubu, amaechi, buhari etc Na who dey open im nyash we see. And yes ibori tried his best in his 8 years. He not only tarred roads, their was massive employments and thousands of scholarships abroad under him. He balanced d politics of delta state, settled d warri crisis ensuring that peace reigns in warri till these day. In fact, if not for his political sagacity, warri south West LGA would have remained in ogidigben where it rightly belongs and not ogbeijaw and the position of chairmanship would not have been on rotational basis as it were because we the itsekiris with more wards will always produce the LGA chairman but for peace courtesy of ibori, we compromised. Ibori is a bridge builder per excellence. U want to be a politician and u are already failing. Yes, we have youths especially in uvwie who are misguided but its not like before in the days of friday ani them or newton who don cold like ice water. Ibori even help solve the delveeh problem. Pls stop generallizing
its just a question, if our youths are cursed, but you are a typical example of what is making shed tears for our youth.. ibori might not be as corrupt as tinubu and those people u mentioned, but no doubt he his a thief, a common thief and because he committed his crime in a country where their laws work, thats why he has been convicted, if our past govt aint corrupt and lovers of impunity, these persons accuse of corruption would have been tried and if found guilty would have been jailed too, but what do we have? same class of leaders, the gejs, uduaghans, okowas, and even you, who glorify corrupt people. whether lagos people hold their people to account or not or allow those touts collect illegal money from people, its their business, if am in lagos i will complain, if its a against the law. we need reorientation for our youth. my question to u is have u ever visited cross river state or akwa ibom? when you get there u will curse ibori, the money ibori received was thrice the amount donald duke got and he was able to transform his state with little revenue. here u are saying ibori created employment. referring to people like newton and friday ani as people, Newton is the leader of my community, and i say they are CORRUPT THIEVES and incompetent leaders like Ibori. saying this here is even a risk to my life, but i must speak, its better i speak and die, because i will still die. for this your commit up there, its really a fact, Delta youths need serious orientations and prayer.

when i see the comments of my fellow Deltans celebrating criminals, thuggery and impunity, i feel so ashamed, the truth remains that the average Deltan needs reorientation, they do not know the meaning of good governance, as a matter of fact they have not felt good governance, just come to Delta state and see how criminality is being celebrated, i will use my community as an example for glorifying criminality and the repercussions. my community, Ekpan in Uvwie L.G.A. have a known criminal is their leader, enthroned by the king of the kingdom, he was once a thug worked for the past pdp govt in the state, now he calls the shot in the community, he empowers the uneducated thugs by giving them sensitive positions i the community. Ekpan community is not just a small community, its the real oil city, it host the WRPC, PPMC, CHEVRON, NGC, NESTOIL and many other multinationals to name but a few. but the community is still in the dirt in terms of development, the main public secondary school there is a write off, the hospital there is like where pigs are kept.
you see we have a big problem in Delta state, only God can deliver us, look at the so called enlighten ones on nairaland celebrating criminality, its the general mentality here in delta state, warri especially, because Ibori tarred some roads, build some structures, and they see him as someone that has done so much, and majority of these guys have never crossed out of the state. when i compare the revenues of delta and cross river state and the level of development there, i just weep every day. Warri is like a huge dump site, thugs harassing citizens collecting money from them and nobody is saying anything.
all these things i have seen and resolved in my heart to attain power by going into politics, there is a saying that evil thrives because the good ones refuse to do anything about it. i just pray God see me through.
