It is one person that is operating the multiple accounts, I’ve dealt with criminals worse than this, this one is a slow criminal. The symmetry in the writing pattern & tone alone have given the person out. The person na Olodo scammer. On two occasions I’ve read on this thread where people ask to contact directly and I’m sure many others are sending a DM without even posting on the thread, they will come back here to wail afterwards. The aim is to find customers to divert to the DM’s , justwise please come and mop up this thread of the menace.

This was my situation once. I applied for a Dec trip but got a date for next Feb.
I didn't change nothing.
Travel plans change. We are humans. Your inability to be at the interview before your preferred travel date is not even your fault, but theirs.

Same with me too, they didn’t even ask because they know the situation of things right now and how tedious getting a date is. Just like the Canadian guys that are just approving some 2020&21 visit visa applications in 2023, did they ask them to fill another form 😂.

Its inconsequential and will not affect you, if you’re asked state your new travel plan, rather focus on purpose of travel and how to convincingly establish your ties back home.

@Opeyemi007 You do not have any US visa it's a lie . If you truly have the visa it cost you nothing to screenshot it on NL. Even if someone have a US visa does that qualifies him to be an expert in the process of the visa ?

There's no appointment date until 2025 for new applications.

Emergency appointment for child birth, is your pregnancy high risk? Do you have paper work to prove it? You can try because no one can say what your chances are, we can only speculate.

They do not place heavy reliance on documentation in the U.S. embassy because they know the climes we are in and anything can be forged. If they ask to see a document during your interview they can either return it to you after viewing or hold on to it and I’ve heard of cases where if you don’t have the document they ask for with you, they give you instructions on how to drop off the document that they require from you. Personally I do not go with any documentation to the embassy because most of my renewals have been physically except from the last one (I guess I was profiled for birthing those times) they don’t check it, there are too many people waiting to be interviewed. If it makes you feel good please go with as many documents as you feel will convince the V.O

I just had my baby in US in September last year. I am pretty anxious as I don’t know what to expect. I wonder why it’s hard to renew a visa after birthing in the US

Let’s hope it’s okay, just attend your interview with a positive mindset and of course go with your bills and payment receipts just in the case you’re asked. Just attend your interview with any documentation that you feel will help your case.

Did you have a visa? Or you just want to get one? It’s almost impossible to get a visa “solely” for birthing purposes these days so your case better be extremely convincing to the V.O. But I’ll say you can go ahead to try, there’s no harm in trying because you may be an exception of recent experiences.

It happened to someone I know a colleague and friend. Two refusals and third time she got it. She did nothing different. The issue is they never divulge the actual reason as to the denial so you can only try again and be hopeful but we can speculate on the reason and repackage based on that.

I filled in Lagos during DS-160 as where I will interview but got a closer date in abuja so scheduled my interview for Abuja. Is this allowed or I have to stick to Lagos?

Fill another ds-160 and input location as Abuja Nigeria so as to match with your Abuja appointment date on your CGI profile , call customer service to update your appointment profile with the new ds-160 confirmation number.
Since this issue has never come up on this thread to the best of my knowledge and on a lighter note you can try to attend the interview like that and feed us back on the outcome at least it’ll be a precedent
Please don’t take this advice because dates are scarce.

please any advice will greatly be appreciated...I received an email from ircc saying "we need something from you to continue processing your application" and when I called the agent to check what message it was .she said ircc requested for an affidavit stating that I will return to my country after visiting Canada... please has anyone here received something like this.

Make sure you see what they require of you by logging on to your profile, do not rely on the agents word of mouth.

I contacted the US embassy concerning the passport renewal after the DS160 submission.

The solution to this is to go with both passports. No other way to do this because they stated that personal information cannot be edited.

See the contents of the email I received from the US embassy below:

Please note that we cannot make any changes or updates to your personal information once an MRV receipt has been associated with your profile.

Applicants are advised to carefully enter their personal and biographical information exactly as it appears on their passport, as MRV fees are non-refundable and non-transferable from one applicant to another.

In addition, you may bring with you the new and the old passport on your interview appointment date.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

No, she wont be let in with a passport of less than 6 months validity. If she has captured for her new passport let her go to servicom office right there in the immigration place she captured and show them her documentation for this interview, just plead with them they’ll help her. Also you may want to track it online to be sure it’s not out yet, just try to get the new passport. Not less than 6 months validity is the rule for the embassies.

2 years ago, I got a new passport the Friday before the Monday of my interview. Didn't know I could actually update the DS160 ( I'm not sure I even knew how then). Went to the embassy with both the old passport and the new one. Presented the old one (didn't have 3 consecutive blank pages) and during the interview the VO asked if I had a new passport, which I promptly presented. Good thing is the old passport number is annotated on the data page of the new passport.

Last year october I came to the thread to ask if anyone had a similar experience because it was my mom but I didn’t get a response, I called the embassy they told me to tell her to bring both passports and there was no issue they put the visa on the new passport. I came back to update the thread on how it worked then. Afterwards a few people posted they did same thing.

I don’t speak on what I know nothing about unlike you. My family isn’t mediocre so they must always have a cause to go to the embassy to get their visa and I have USA citizen kids. I don’t have a track record for nonsense on nairaland I have renewed my visa multiple times with my renewal in July being the most recent. Ashirioluwa , don't mind them ..for the last time , fill another DS 160 , update it in your CGI , print out your appointment letter after 24 or 28 hours and that's all. They are giving you the advice of a lazy teacher .

What type of document?
For your interview you should go with two passport photos, ds 160 confirmation, appointment confirmation. A copy each of all. And any other document that you think will help your case.

That’s a misinformation it’s not compulsory. My moms appointment was booked with former passport and I remember coming here to ask questions that year but didn’t get an answer , two weeks before interview she renewed and I called embassy, embassy said bring both and visa was issued on new passport.

If you’re in doubt call the embassy.

Looks like the system is wired to calculate 1 year based on Jan to Dec, if it was wired to do Jan to Jan it wouldn't have calculated the CRS to give her ITA....that's my thinking and I could be wrong.

What's this person's CRS and which draw gave them ITA? If they are French or PNP or Healthcare, Agric then they will likely have more draws very soon and it may be safe to reject, but otherwise........

In the past I think what some people have done is submit i.e. get AOR after a "safe date" in this case she submits when it's 3 years according to the applicants manual calculation (i.e. 8 Jan to 8 Jan)

If the ITA is from a general draw, I would go ahead and accept the ITA and submit sometime in early Feb, if it were me, my comfort is that I meet the CRS as at AOR and meet the MEC (minimum conditions) at both ITA and AOR. Emphasis: the CRS column on the right. The rules for CBD draws are different but are also in the link so it depends on the draw that got the person ITA.

Let the person go ahead with what they are comfortable with.

You just articulated my thoughts, I told her to wait till early February to submit, just incase of anything.
She got the ITA from the stem occupations draw that held last week with cut off of 481.
