LadyIE: Hello all, I just scheduled my date to drop off my passport which is supposed to be at DHL in Victoria island. But the confirmation mail shows “Consular Appointment Details 2 Walter Carrington Crescent Victoria Island Lagos” does it mean this is the drop off location and not DHL on Muri Okunola st? Thank you You’re dropping off at Muri okunola dhl at the said time and date not the embassy. |

LadyIE: Good day all. I am trying to renew my US visa as I am eligible for Dropbox. I have completed the DS-160 form and went to the portal to schedule a visa interview. I completed all required information and inputted my receipt number. After this was done, I got the next prompt which was “your request to schedule an appointment has been received and will be reviewed. You will receive your request once your request is approved “ I would like to know if this response is normal. Is it after approval I would be able to pick a date to drop off my passport? Also, how long do I have to wait before I can receive the email approval? I would appreciate your kind response. Thanks Yes that’s the modus operandi for now. You’ll be sent an email when it’s approved then you’ll proceed to choose a date to drop off your passport at the dhl office |

iyaaliyah: Yes. Taking both but the DS 160 has the old passport number. Should we update the DS form to reflect the new one or we leave like that since old passport. It’s still valid. My parent had a similar situation and both passports were taken, visa will be issued on the newer one. |

iyaaliyah: Hello. Pls, is this possible? An unexpired old passport was used to fill DS 160 form but there is a new passport now. At the point of collecting the new passport, they didn't cancel the old passport. You know the usual 'cancel without prejudice'. Please note: 1. The old passport is not expired. It expires in 2024. 2. The old passport contains all previous visas and stamps. Can one still use this old passport for interview coming up end of the month? Take both |

Kesspru: I have an 8yrs Canada visa. They bounced me and my 3 kids. And she can’t apply for transit visa from here. I was forced to buy a direct flight with united airlines forcing us to spend extra 4k$ at this critical time. It’s well. Sorry about this expense it can be daunting in this dollar wahala period. As a preference I fly direct to the USA. I also traveled on an almost expired visa but I flew direct. Did your kids also have Canadian visas because I know a USA visa or Canadian visa suffices in the place of a transit visa. To avoid transit visa issues other non EU airlines like Qatar also work. |

Deepeeh: Hello Debbieeee, Please, at what point do you think hubby can apply for the DS 3053(husband consent) in order to make the process fast. Is it before childbirth or after?
Thank you. The actual notarizing should be after the birth but the appointment can be booked ahead of time(to be after your due date) if you know your due date. |

Taal17: They pay cash. Costs for birth are not cast in stone so they can still pile up if there's a change or unexpected added services
If you can find health insurance that covers birthing in the US explore it, else start saving money Mannymanny you have your answer here. Taal17 has answered. They pay cash. |

Yetyb: Hi, have you been able to sort it out? I am in the same situation as well. My visa expires Nov 1st and travelling with Lufthansa on Nov 9th To avoid stress it’ll be good to take the option of changing your ticket and travel before your visa expires if possible or get a transit visa. They take that transit visa thing seriously, if you have a valid Canadian visa it’ll also suffice. |

Yetyb: .
Pls a quick question, what is the guarantee that there will be appointment dates two weeks before the travel. That’s what I intend to do, as I am leaving 2nd week November, I am just paranoid and hoping it goes smooth when I call to schedule the appointment. The agency is for urgent appointments that’s why they won’t give you an appointment if your travel date is not less than 2 weeks or if you don’t require a visa to your intended destination out of the USA (they give you 28 days). It’s best to call them to let them assess your situation and assign you a tentative date. |

You’re welcome, You don’t need passport for etc. what you need to apply for etc is consent from you & husband, bio data pages of passport for both parents, birth certificate, return ticket to Nigeria and baby’s passport photo. Honeysweetest: I guess you are a lawyer, let's be positive,we will get there, I used the Noc for legal assistant, it's not regulated, not like using Noc for a solicitor. This is if you wish to explore pnp. I applied for Saskatchewan PNP. Fortunately, legal assistant is among the needed Noc. Yes I’m a lawyer, I thought about it o but then I shoved the idea aside but it’s worth looking into since you’ve suggested it because time is going. Thank you so much |

Last year and a better part of this year made me put this one aside to focus on the reason I was active in the other group. |

aestake: Yep! What I was saying was it is not always who has the highest CRS. Sometimes low CRS with the needed NOC is better. I was urging my pal to retake the IELTS (because Writing was 6.5) and I wasn't sure Ontario would look for nurses and Drs (they always go for Tech folks). I think the healthcare professionals, IT guys and financial occupations too are quite fortunate with pnps, I’ll be lazy to retake if I know I stand a pnp chance |

Gbanis: Hello house, I got my visa in 2016 for the purpose of child birth. (I was heavily pregnant when I went for my interview and I disclosed my intentions) Used it and returned. Went on vacation in 2017, and returned. In 2018 I used same visa, for the purpose of birthing my second child but this time, the visa expired 2 weeks into my stay in the U.S but I didn't stay more than the duration I was stamped in and I returned. So I used 1 visa 3 times. 2 child births and 1 vacation. (on my second birthing trip, I still sent an intent letter to the embassy stating my intentions with the same visa and got the generic email response. Here's my concern, would I be queried at my interview renewal for entering the US with an almost expired visa? What are my chances of scaling my interview. This is my first renewal since then. Happy to hear your opinions. Thank you. I think I can answer the part of entering when your visa almost expired. I also entered 3 weeks before my visas expiration and I was stamped for 6 months. I spent 12 weeks and renewed without issues, I got my visa for holidays and I used it severally for holidays before going to birth and I told the officer who admitted me in that I was there for birthing. Regarding your chances of getting upon renewal, it’s the officers call to make and decision to take but I think you should stay positive. The trauma era is over. So far as you’re renewing for holidays and you declared your intent the first visa both to the embassy and Poe officer then you shouldn’t have an issue to renew for holidays. I wish you all the best |

Profgordons: Very apt, initially my thoughts were that the scores were going to drop, but reality now is that these high scores are here to stay, with over 1million students being admitted yearly and those numbers which tripled in recent years already graduating and clamoring for status. Now people have to do more to raise their points I completely I agree. Even acing the IELTS plus masters isn’t sufficient anymore based on the current distribution of the pool. Sigh sigh sigh. |

Kimooooo: Good day, please I need clarity and suggestions.
After my IELTS exam (S - 8, L - 8.5, R - 8, W - 7) and other necessary requirements I was able to gather a CRS score of 475 points. I have both my bachelor's and masters degree in Geophysics.
I am yet to put in for an application, I don't know the province where my points and experience can fit in.
Initially I was following the Saskatchewan udpate but I am still yet to take any action.
Please I need advice and suggestions 🙏 Thanks. If your IELTS test date is within 6 weeks explore the option of remarking the writing component, it won’t hurt to try and you may be upped to 7.5 which gives you 3 points extra. In the pool these days you have to stay competitive. Try pnp if your noc fits in any of the categories usually invited by provinces or learn French. Least general draw crs score this year was 481 and it doesn’t look like it’s coming down anytime soon although it may. |
