Politics › Re: Ganging Up Against Jonathan – 3 Reasons Why Arewa Mob Action Will Fail by Dede1(m): 8:23pm On Jun 30, 2010
It is unfortunate that it took the self arrogated lamentation by a northerner for the southerners to realize that Nigeria/Biafra civil war was instigated by many several reasons including the crude oil found in eastern region. What a shame.

I think the phrase of “south must seize power” is a wishful thinking. Any silly attempt to do so will lead to disintegration of the cesspit called Nigeria. The outcome of such endeavor will engender a war that will manifest the brutal atrocity never seen in human nature.
Politics › Re: Ekwueme: PDP Agreed On Rotational Presidency by Dede1(m): 8:00pm On Jun 30, 2010
Nigeria is known to lack socio-politico-economic principles. If rotational presidency did not exist in the manifesto of PDP, Goodluck Jonathan could not have been president of Nigeria period. If he fails to respect the gentlemanly agreement of rotational presidency in PDP, he will certainly loose the election whether it is fair or not.
Politics › Re: Is Goodluck Jonathan A Megalomaniac: Bans Super Eagles For 2 Years! by Dede1(m): 7:41pm On Jun 30, 2010
The so-called banning of super of eagles for two (2) years by the clueless figurehead called Goodluck Jonathan is beyond the pale of my comprehension. Reasons given for the alleged banning of the super chickens are at best very ridiculous.

Does it mean after two years of this alleged idiotic ban, the national team will not loose any embarrassing match? Italy, the defending world cup champion, has not ban the national team talk less of Nigeria, a country that has not establish regional supremacy in soccer.

This Goodluck Jonathan of a guy should take lengthy look on the mirror and he would realize Nigeria is piece of dirt. Instead of reorganizing soccer governing body in the jungle and set up solid plain to reconstitute a new national team with training matches across the globe, he foolishly ordered the ban of the team.

For the fact that you are my brother, i will not join any word with you, but mind you i din't say my father or Ojukwu was senseless or silly, i only said that the stories i heard were senseless and silly,
I love war more than Ojukwu and wish to fight one before i leave this earth, by the standard of war, if i am to judge General Ojukwu, i will judge him by his action and the result of his action, not the supposed reason behind his actions, and if i make such judgement, i will simply tell you that Ojukwu would be better a boxer than a millitary general, or a timber man than a leader of a nation, if you wouldnt mind, let us open a seperate thread and disect all that happened before and during the biafran war and its after match. Good morning.
Why should I join issue with a person who does not understand the sentences he or she wrote?

It is clearly you endeared yourself to conjectural crap and never shown scholarly erudition on the subject matters. There are some of us who fought the war and few who contributed to the efforts of the war in several capacities including the famous Biafran Boys Company.

As of joining of NDA, my class intake would have been the 17th Regular and 21st Short Service and nobody told me any senseless stories about joining or not joining Nigerian army.

Whatever criticisms you reserved for Ojukwu about the manner which he handled the war is your bloody opinion. I guess someone who really wants to fight a war should manage to get admitted onto the parade ground.

Again, there is no leader without a fault and it is even magnified when such leader belongs to the defeated side. Even Yakubu Gowon who led the victorious Nigerian side was kicked out of power by his subordinates few years later.

I am not angry, but just like every other Igbo son out there, i grew up hearing all sorts of sensless stories of what happened to Igbos in the late 60s,

when i was in primary school, i once told my now late Dad that i will join the millitary when i grow up because i have ambition to become the president of Nigeria, he gave me incredible responce, he said for an Igbo man to get into the millitary or become the president of Nigeria is apparently impossible, when i asked why, i was told all kinds of Ojukwu this, Nzogwu that, and Aguironsi this, Gowon that, all manners of sensless stories,

But my fear is that an average Igbo man sees Ojukwu as Alexander the Great, instead of them to see and jugde him by the result of his action, they are seeing the supposed reason behind the self destructive actions, is like a german hailing Da Fullher as their hero instead of seeing that he brought germany down with his selfish desire to rule the world.
It is true when you task people who were not present when a corpse is buried to exhume it, they usually start from the foot. My people say that any child who called the mother ugly equally called the father silly and tagged him or her self a wayward kid.

I am not surprise you called your father senseless and silly. I guess the stupidity you have displayed on this forum is clearly inherent. I shall not even join issue with a person who does not have any respect for his/her parents.

I guess you lacked home-education and social sophistication paramount to an Igbo child. Otherwise what would have given you audacious pedigree to utter the nonsense that your father told you senseless stories about Biafra and Ndigbo.

There is no hero without a fault. I am one of the staunch critics of Ojukwu but my criticisms are never based on the fact he stood up for his people. Ndigbo are still being castigated and marginalized through the evil machinations of Nigerian government because Biafra not only bloodied the nose of Nigerians but expose the internal weakness of cesspit called Nigeria.

Of course, you have not informed anybody about your ethnicity. Some folks are either ashamed of their ethnicity or even delusional about their gender. I should not be surprise if you are boldly defined with either of the scenarios.

I am a proud Igbo son and never felt awkward to inform anybody about my ethnicity. Dr. N. A. Fadipe wrote “to detribalize is social anomaly”.

Also, there's nothing wrong with power sharing if you have credible leaders, because naturally, the power sharing will fizzle out and give way to a then equal playing field.
I suggest you read my comment again. It is a response to current crap making rounds that northern Nigeria is not politically monolithic.

PDP is a political party with “controversial” rotational presidency arrangement. It is my understating that the entity called PDP is not exclusive property of Ndigbo.

Politics › Re: If We Must Respect The Zoning Arrangement, then We Can As Well Divide Nigeria by Dede1(m): 2:43am On Jun 25, 2010
It is unbelievable show of political naiveté and inherent stupidity for some Nigerians to appear twisted out of human form because of certain arrangements of a political party while leaving comfortable with ill-intended quota system, divisive policy of abandon property, draconian boundary adjustment and economic strangulation of certain section of the jungle called Nigeria.

All these silly and worthless sermons about the PDP rotational presidency that suddenly found their way into the mouths of few disgruntled southern Nigerians would have been a war sung if Yar adua had selected northeastern fellow as Vice President instead of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.

Some Nigerians should be mindful of the fact that democracy tends to follow the sum of numbers and human dynamism. The last time I checked though, northern region of Nigeria is the home of the aforementioned political nuances. Do not be fooled by the newly found ranting that north is not politically monolithic.
Politics › Re: If We Must Respect The Zoning Arrangement, then We Can As Well Divide Nigeria by Dede1(m): 11:02pm On Jun 24, 2010
Justcash:
Nigerians like deceiving themselves

What is the point "Zoning" political posts in Nigeria when we are supposed to be Nigerians (Not Igbos, hausas, yorubas, Urhobos etc)

That we are Nigerians means that we are all united and equal Citizens of Nigeria before the law. It means that Every Nigerian has the right to contest and win elections, without any Socio- ethnic or religious considerations.

My point is, why can't Nigerians let the best and most productive (Not even qualified) people bring about change in Nigeria? Even if it happens that a particular state/region keeps producing people that brings positive changes, we should not care, because they are Nigerians and they are getting the job done!

If We (Nigerians) Cannot conduct and vote in an election that is completely free and fair to every Nigerian that is qualified to contest, Without any Socio-ethnic and political considerations, then Why are we Nigerians?

If It is compulsory that leaders must be selected based on a rotational regional basis, without any consideration of the best and most productive candidates in the country, it means that we are not united/"One" in Nigeria. We can as well break the country up, so that every zone or entity can have their own leaders and vote in a united way. Since Nigerians are passionate about their regions, why dont we break up to have political peace and tranquility? After all, there is no limit to the number of countries that should exist in a continent.

We must all know that there can be no progress in Nigeria without political stability. If a Yoruba man/Woman becomes the president and carries out changes, a Hausa man/Woman will get elected next and cancel the changes to make his own changes. An Igbo man/Woman will do same and We will keep dancing around a circle without progress.

Tinubu (despite how currupt he was) Laid some foundations, and ensured that a right man (Fashola) was installed to develop the foundations and lay his own foundations. This is because of their passion for their state and ethnic group. And even in the face of political tumoil, the people's voice prevail because they have a different loyalty for their people than Nigerians as a whole.

This zoning idea has eaten deep into the political life of Nigeria. We need to really be clear about what we want in Nigeria.

If we must Keep zoning political positions, we must also divide Nigeria in order to have political peace, tranquility and Continuity of progress.

As things stand now, I can't even point out a Northerner that is politically productive (Positively) to be in that position and give us progress, except a few (Who are politically alienated)
What an errant nonsense. It is very mind burgling to recently read about peoples’ realization of illusionary One-Nigeria is after all not one. I give thanks to the so-called PDP’s rotational presidency to this latest education. I wonder if most of these people were just waking up from their political slumber. Nigerians are very funny indeed. Probably the quota system and the so-called federal character did not adversely affect these latecomers in any shape or form.

I can not believe my ears that disintegration of the cesspit called Nigeria, the pride of their forbearers, is now an attainable option. PDP is not the only political party in Nigeria and any empty-headed punk who does not appreciate the manifesto of the party, especially the rotational presidency, should either seek membership to another party or vote PDP out of power.

I wish this Siasia guy should not be hired to coach eagles because of the empty but lofty recommendations given to him by the contributors on this board. I would appreciate if NFF would hire a coach completely unknown to the retired coaches on this board. Granted Siasia has piloted underage team to a position of second best and has not won anything to write home about yet he is being graded as a soccer genius.

Siasia maybe better than Lagerback but he must show his highly appraised stuff with a local league team.

Believe it or not, Nigeria-Biafra civil war still reechoes sense of apprehension among northern Nigerians. In addition, you should remember the golden geese that lay the golden eggs in Nigeria are still alive in southern Nigeria.

I do feel for the plight of these girls, but many love-peddlers in Abuja are not so because they are starving, but because they want to live a lavish lifestyle. Many of them actually have jobs by day, but sell their bodies by night/weekend. Many of them are in University, fully paid by their parents and given pocket money yet they still come to Abuja at the weekends because as usual the allure of quick cash and material things is just irresistable to many Nigerians. Armed robbers in Nigeria are also frustrated and poor graduates, I dont see anyone saying they should be left to carry on their way of making money. Mothers are sending their own daughters into prostitution abroad, should that be accepted aswell? After all its the oldest profession as people are saying.

Who knows how many of them are infected with AIDS or other diseases helping along with their customers to spread it across Nigeria.

The point is, Nigerians today value money above absolutely everything else. We all saw when Ethiopians were actually starving to death, with all their renouned beauty did you hear of a prostitution problem, or their mothers sending them to ltaly to go and sell themselves? No, they have a certain amount of self respect.

I sympathise with those who have lost parents or are homeless, but those I believe are the minority, most just want to live a flashy life through a short cut and prositution for them is that opportunity. I do believe the government should train them though.

Most Nigerians suffer from know-it-all and yet know next to nothing. I watched Mexico versus France game and wondered how BLANCO found his way to the football pitch. Blanco can not even play in the league where Kanu hawks his trade. N Kanu and Utaka are much better players than few players that have disgraced Nigeria in this World Cup competition.

The idiocy we watched during green eagle’s soccer performance abounds on this board too.Baring the repeating idiocy, how a person could remotely thought of silly comparison between Mikel and Lukman?

The dude called Lukman must learn how to stand on his feet then people can talk about his soccer skills. He is either fumbling with the ball or lying flat on the turf. I repeat Lukman’s inclusion on this team is sheer madness.

Lukman can still score 10 goals against S. Korea, I still insist the dude is a waste of spot on the green eagles squad.
