Well, for a car owner it's still manageable but for a renter it is not at the same time it depends on the weekly charge to rent the car. It's dicey but to an extent it's still ok, but try to bargain for less than 25k per week and then make sure it's a tokunbo so you'll enjoy it. Don't agree to pay more than 25k and if possible 20k.
If you have a tokunbo muscle, can you give it out for 20k returns weekly?

Greetings to you my oga, plz I av offer of Toyota Matrix 2005 for 1.8 million on higher purchase from a friend, to be use on uber /taxify platform. We have not finalized on payback period,
But I want to know from my oga is, if it's a good deal and how much will it be ok to payback monthly and how long do you think I will be able to pay back the whole money . Plz said advise, thanks.
I don't give advice on HP because it's always complicated but the only thing I will tell you is... The deal is as good as the car, get a good mechanic to thoroughly inspect the car first, if car has no issues then 1.8m is cool, pay back between 100k and 120k monthly

Hello house, just to seek ur opinions... Since I finished nysc and I'm not employed yet.. My Uncle said instead of sitting at home, that he can give me his Toyota Camry '05 (which is not faulty, it's just his second car and just parked at home) to use for ehailing but I will be remitting 45k monthly (not weekly oo) since i'm family... I want to ask, with the way market is... Can I deliver 45k monthly (11k weekly) and still have something reasonable to myself?... Please your advices will be highly appreciated
Grab that offer while it stands, you'll NEVER get it anywhere else. You'll conveniently meet up but I'll suggest you open a separate account and be dropping at least 15k weekly, that's 60k monthly.. 45k for uncle and 15k for servicing the car.

Drivers on rental, please ehailing is a hustle you do only for a while, then you move on to other things. The odds are stacked against you, whichever way you think about it. Its only a very few car owners out there that are God-fearing, the rest will eat you raw.
I did ehailing for 18 months, in those 18 months, I incorporated my company and pushed out proposals. I have some projects going, I've been signed up on some contracts. A job desk with good enough salary > #250k monthly awaits me (resumption, 01/03/2019). I've returned the last car I drove to the owner last week. You cannot imagine how relieved I am.

Please ehailing is a side hustle. Quickly arrange yourself and move forward. God bless us all
Congratulations bro, more success

Oga ur AC compressor is pumping low, I have passed through Similar issue, until I met one lapido man who personally selected a confirm tokunbo compressor for me which I have been using since November no complain so far, no leakage AC still intact, wen u ready to fix it I LL give u his contact
Actually he may be low on gas, he should check of some vents are cooler than others. To know if it's compressor, he should feel the AC while idle then feel it while revving, if it cools while revving then compressor is good as dead

I don't even look ur face if u like be a Hollywood star u are no different from my regular riders unless u prove otherwise, I picked one nollywood actor I have forgotten his name from apple junction all the way to shangotedo then back to shoprite jakonde during the trip I noticed the app has started malfunctioning and told him he said no problem when to his destination we will sort it out. When we got to his destination he said I was the one that was trying to manipulate the app and it's not his fault, I wanted to cry that night because this trip had so many stops.

I changed it immediately for him, Bros so u mean u want to ride from festac to shangotedo then back to jakonde at #1100 and that includes the toll I paid.

I was ready to even fight him at least that will make me feel better if he eventually refuses to pay because I know Taxify will never refund me, fortunately for me his friend that came to pick him asked him if he was given estimate before the he requested for the ride he said yes and that it was #3000. He now mandated him to at least pay the estimated fare that by so doing he will doing the right thing. I know that trip was supposed to be more than 3k but at least half bread is better than groundnut so I had no option than to collect the 3k and left.
Not if you want to soak garri with it lol. I've carried many stars, one saved my number and started using me offline, though he wasn't paying well I still managed it like that until one day that he talked rudely to me. I didn't say a word but I knew that was the last day I would carry him. Maybe he felt he was doing me a favor by being my rider but to me it was the other way round. He has called several times I keep ignoring his call. Star calling me and me doing yanga, I don blow grin

After working till 10pm for the first time yesterday. I decided not to leave my house till 10am today. Exactly 10am I went online while I was dressing up, a request came in and the guy was heading to idimu from Abraham adesanya. I already told myself and God that i want to be back home before 3pm. We got to idimu some minutes past 12. Gbam the fare was 6k. Got a request immediately and it reads 4mins away, long trip of about 90mins. Called the rider. She was going to Abraham adesanya...... I was very happy. Got to Abraham adesanya by 2pm. Gbam fare was 5k. I just went to my barber for a nice haircut. Bought fuel inside the gen keg and headed home. Got home 3pm. Happy election guys. Uber continues on Sunday.
It's taxify right? I notice they have this habit of picking drivers that are coming from a particular destination for a trip going back to the same area

My brother please don't beat up yourself too much, it's always like that when u just start.
But if u accept request to places u are not to familiar with kindly beg them to assist you with directions.
Don't be shy openly tell the person u don't know the route though sometimes they will tell u to use your map tell them your map have been misbehaving since morning.
So that they will be solely responsible for the direction if they direct you enter gutter na their business. Lolzz
grin
But sometimes your rating go dey shaky because body too dey pepper some riders.

I had one experience when I started, I got this early morning airport request at Simeon akiolu, Oniru estate.

I was turning the whole estate looking for the main gate as described by the woman because they open the main gate by 6.
The woman end up carrying her kaya with her head to come and meet me at the second gate.
grin
I started trip boom airport, my first time of going to airport from the island.
I wasn't familiar with the map then but I tried to follow the map until the woman said I should concentrate on my driving while she will interpret the map.
At every turn she will tell me to slow down so she can read the map well so we don't miss road.
At a point after iyana oworo she shouted (you know that panick shout) at me to slow down, I had to even halt in the middle of the express grin so she would be able to tell whether to go straight or follow gbagada apapa expressway. Chaii, it was not fuuny that day.
The woman almost cried, the next thing she exclaimed 'what type of life is this' did I commit any crime to book a cab?
I became more confused.
grin
At the end of the trip she gave me one of the shawarma she bought, I thanked her.
I drove straight to Ajao estate and parked under one big shield, only for me to notice that later my account have been blocked as I was devouring the shawama I was just recounting the whole episode at the same time feeling pity the my victim.
grin
I later mustered up courage and went to Taxify office they read the note the woman wrote them.
She even ended it with na waa for Taxify ooo.
grin
I simply told them the woman insists I should drive so she will direct me.
After everything they unblocked me, so after then if I get request in the island I will tell the rider am not to familiar with island routes. If it's on the mainland I will tell the rider I work mainly on the island.
grin
And give the person the condition that I can only complete the trip if he or she can direct me.
And funny enough it worked, story plenty ooo, we go dey alright las las.
grin
Exactly what I used to do too, I still do it once in a while

What is it with you guys and condescending attitude towards your riders, these riders are the ones paying your bills ffs. Doesn't matter if he is paying you N500, they are your customers and deserve every respect even if you feel they are underserving of it.

To think these are the same guys who will enter the bank and rain insults on tellers and customer service officers when they have issues with their almost empty account. We don't see tellers ranting, they simply apologise and pacify them.

Pick up at Guinea insurance at jibowu, first stop at 17b oguntana crescent Pedro gbagada, next stop at Ikosi Ketu, then to keffi street Alausa, next stop at Hope Plaza at link bridge Ikeja, took them to Coscharis at Adeola Odeku VI, then to Prestige assurance plc Ligali Ayorinde before heading back to Guinea insurance at jibowu. The trip lasted 5hours from 12 to 5. And you are calculating it to be 6000 plus. That was my message to Uber.

Their response.....

We reviewed this trip and determined that you were charged an incorrect fare due to a technical issue.

We've updated your fare to NGN10,750.00 which reflects our estimate for a direct route between your pickup and destination. This adjustment is now visible in your next weekly payment statement.
Hope you checked your balance if the additional fare was truly added. Sometimes uber will only send this fare adjustment message but the fare won't reflect in your balance.

Been incognito on this thread for about 9 months. Learnt a lot on here before i started driving on both platforms, read from page 1.
I'm proud to say that i have NEVER defaulted in my rent from day 1.
Have i had to use my money to pay rent? YES, because my integrity is sacrosanct to me
Towards the end of 2018 I resolved to never pay out of my pocket again. So i set targets for myself, at least 15k everyday after commissions. I used to do 3k daily for fuel, that's 20ltrs cos my car did 10km to 1ltr. If I passed this allocation then i should have made more than 15k. When lagos traffic became hell late last year, it went up to between 4 and 5k...my car's efficiency has also dropped by 1 or 2kms depending on hpw much traffic i sit in (it's terrible in traffic or idling I don't know why, Cc Gazzuz)
5k is set aside for my landlord 5k for me...the rest goes to feeding etc.
I buy 200 credit like every other day.
At the beginning of the week 3 credit my e-tag with 3k (remember that the excess accumulates)
data is like every other week as well.1.5gb 9mobile at 1200, almost Strictly for work. Regular use data na glo,2k or 2k5 every month.
Feeding allocation is 1k on a regular day. I don't eat just anywhere i see food. 3h bread and beans at alagomeji or 5h rice plantain and turkey or goat meat from Cyril @ Haruna near Gazzuz or 4h fufu at yesufu sanusi in surulere or i do 5h or 8h chicken Republic or 850 @ The Place. I buy bread whenever I'm around Blenco Supermarket or any fine bread i trust... I keep it in the car for quickies. Nowadays I always leave the house with 2 boiled eggs and i have butter in the car as well.
I cut out car wash, that's only once in a while now, i wash the car myself.
Cumulatively I've paid around 45k to lastma and police
Bought 3 phones Galaxy s5 30k(screen spoilt, 25k to fix it so i blank am), Lg g5 35k (stolen a few weeks later at a wedding) LG G5 32k(still balling)
Since the xmas gbem I've only missed 100k after commissions once.
Took the 1st 2 weeks of the year to rest, should have travelled but bae was busy so i gifted her an iphone with the holiday money.
I've hit it thereafter, my worst week has been 91k after comms.
I'll say many guys here inspired me to up my game coz i was damn lazy, once landlord money complete i go begin play, but now i grind like a hungry mofo.
Savings has improved too. Any money that gets home with me is left at home, any money transfer stays in the account, I only buy 1k or 1.5k to start the next day if I'm crashing at home, if na my bro place for lekki I buy my regular 3k from Oando at 4th roundabout.
Farenz is an inspiration cos he's shown that its possible.
I'm not greedy, I still chill, mondays or Wednesday na movie day with bae so either half day or no work at all. She loves Coldstone as well so we must chop BOGOF.
Many guys on here complain daily but na this lagos me sef de o. I drive past long lines of drivers at billings way, ajiran, that circle mall road and i come out with rider, they arestill there. Maybe they just chilling as per man no be wood I'on know, but there's a time value of money. See as guys de complain about January...hmmmmmmm
I'm still learning though, efficiency can still be improved.
On the strike day (which i don't support) I picked a G-boy Ologolo to ibafo and back 1.7 surge about 5hrs 20k+... But, na babalawo the boy go. After he came out, him and the aafa enter say make we go that redeemed camp side.. needless to say my balls don drop finish. I kept praying and saying my hail Marys in my mind. Na so dem say make i stop near 1 small bridge dem com enter inside bush. I use style come out to survey the area. After they came, everything else went without event, bobo transfer my money.

In as much as the number of rides has increased i also think the number of riders has as well, considering the number of 5star riders i pick weekly. Guys business is a numbers game. Lagos has roughly 20 million peeps, riders dey. How many rides do u even do in a day? 10, 15, 20? Thats like an average of 10k (hypothetically speaking) so whats the whole fuss.
People de diss uber but when taxify did lite and comfort they stylishly dropped their prices but una no see am. How many of y'all raised it here? Can't remember anybody doing so but una wan kill farenz that day...what they did was simple sleight of hand. Now uber matched them at 15% commission some folks here still didn't know.
It's not all about driving and coming online to talk smack. Some of y'all have a crazy entitlement mindset, u want landlord to reduce rent, you want uber to increase fare... If person advertise 35k here una go abuse am. Y'all need to understand what a free market is and how it operates. I'm on 35k weekly with no wahala because I wasn't forced into it neither am i forced to stay in it. If e no pay me again i leave. No hard feelings.
And we can disagree without the insults and bashing.

As an aside, the grammar people write on this thread is appalling. Chixox...like wtf?
...and its HIRE PURCHASE... NOT HIGHER or High Or Haya... How can you succeed in a partnership when you don't even know what the agreement is?
This is the kind of post I always wish and hope to open the thread and find, posts that will inspire both the weak and the strong who's getting tired/distracted. I use almost the same blueprint, this year I ginger myself to work harder and you just help me ginger that ginger more. Thanks
And the grammar thing, you know this line of business doesn't require any level of education so we may have people who are not opportuned or are yet to get higher education, as long as they can communicate effectively let's accord them their own respect
