franksam2009: bro I will not support you in this one, i hv encountered such before , d day I entered Uber ordered for me by my sis, this issue almost caused a serious quarel, plz learn to explain things to ur riders biko, money hard to get . It's improper to start a trip when you feel like without alerting ur rider, most of the riders are not that familiar with d app It's the person that requests for you, in this case your sister's job to alert you of surge so you can hold extra change. Rider app shows estimates for a reason, you people like putting ALL the blames on the driver. Kilode |

coalcoal1: because of my job, it's difficult to work full time during the day except weekends. I try to put in about 6 hours everyday where I make between 5k and 8k. I work between 5am and 8am before going to work and 8pm - 11pm after closing from work. For a full day, especially weekends, I have been making 10k to 15k on the average. I decided to stretch the number of hours I put in on Sunday and got 28k. So far, the experience has been worth it. Bro don't make me relocate to Ibadan o lol, if I can be making what I'm making in Lagos in Ibadan, what am I doing in this Lagos with high standard of living plus killer traffic. Was there surge in Ibadan too? Like someone earlier said, do it again in 2 weeks and kindly update us(me). Everyday I keep having this feeling that Lagos is not my state lol |

Gentlelife50: Some of these riders don't even know what is surge, they see 1. Something or 2. Something yet they request when it's time to pay they start crying I carried 2 reverend sisters on taxify 2.1x, fare was 5100, sisters said they used to pay around N2000 and I told them this is not normal fare, it's a surge trip, they can call the person who requested for them for confirmation because taxify would have shown him estimate. They paid me my money and I left. Later in the day a man called me, I guess he's reverend father, he started threatening to report me, I even assisted him on how he can successfully report, I said it wasn't me, it was a surge trip, he said why would I put surge? I didn't want to laugh even though holding back was giving me headache. Next thing the man started cursing, I told him only if it was a fraud will his curse locate me. Maybe taxify has explained better to him cuz I never hear from them, over 2 weeks now |

Fahrenz: thats what we keep hearing. But no one has died yet. More drivers are signing up. More partners are buying cars.
Someone posted a statistic of 134000 active uber riders and only 9000 active drivers. Meanwhile. Uber has over 20000 registered drivers That's uber alone. That is what we should talk about, facts. Not permutations. Dead car dead driver and no partners was the same song being sang last year when uber reduced fares. Why haven't all partners gone underground?
Answer is simple. There are hardworking drivers out there making money for their partners and taking care of the cars they drive. They are not on Nairaland. I know a driver that comes from abeokuta to drive in Lagos and he hasn't defaulted. Don't allow the congregation of lazy complaining Nairaland drivers becloud the truth.
Facts only More people diving in because of this scam advert Do the maths, active drivers are not up to 50% of total drivers.

DEGREE2466: I watched this video on Facebook. That driver must be a member of this thread.
I mean, how can a driver have the gut to attack a rider like that? What happens to good customer service. That was terrible and I felt for the lady.
I can't imagine ordering an Uber with my hard earned money only for somebody to spoil my day like that.
The guy should be the one to greet and looking at that lady, she seems older than the driver.
And to think the driver recorded the video excluding himself and thinking that he's anonymous is ludicrous.
All Uber needs to do is to contact the rider, fish out the driver, and block his As$. What an unruly behavior.
Please, let's not take everything written here serious oo. Stewpeed you are sir |
