I don’t care how long or how much a driver makes. How many times do you want me to repeat myself.
My own narrative is my drivers will be on a 70/30 EARN AS YOU GO and not some current market pricing weekly block payment, that way everyone is on checkmate.

Yes I am entitled to protect my investment and if you see it as an obsession so be it. I did not come to beg money from you.
When you Nigerians don’t have any sensible way to argue your case, you start the name calling....greedy and envious hahahahaha, same archaic emotional blackmail you id#ots throw around. Same way Nigerian girls call you broke ass stingy nig#a when they are not able to milk you, does that sound familiar to you now.

Now run and go get your 1m ready.
Now you sound stewpeed. You can blame your ancestors all you want, whether you like it or not, you're a Nigerian. Get it down your thin spine

I just remembered a case of a fraudulent driver, he signed up for an impossible target,
and guess what he did? He wakes up 5am, drives till 10pm and hands over the keys to his unemployed friend who drives from 10pm- 5am and pays a daily fee to him for use of the vehicle. Basically car never stopped working.

driver paid weekly payments with ease, owner was happy until........

You can fill in the blanks.

Car became unhappy

I thought your screen shot would have say, 5k in 14hours.

With 17k in 14hours you can still pay 50k. If you remove the amount of wait time, I see no stress in this job.
Will you wish it for your (unborn) children then? Let them make cool cash without stress grin

What if the driver does more of offline trips? And why will u and ogunvic ask a partner to collect a HP car from a driver? That aint fair
They did the same thing to me despite having spoken on the phone with me and even met me with the owner and discussed how to "put me through". He kept disturbing my ex-partner to give him the car while it was still in my care. Big boss didn't give him anyway so i just looked away

Riders can only rate you if you start the trip, so if you just cancelled then your poor rating is definitely not from that particular rider
lekanlaniyan:
Good day all, I was in the filling station from 3am to 7:30am before I could buy fuel.

I got a request around 8:30am( sleep still dey eye).

I went to pick the rider going to Airport from Katampe extension estate(Abuja). The cost was #3,000.00. I humbly Begged we do the trip offline and we bargained for #4,500.00.

I explained y we should do it offline. 1. I can't pick a rider from airport. 2. The fee is too small 3. The stress of sleeping in the filling station to buy fuel.

She agreed and we cancelled the trip. When I check my rating, she gave me 3 star .

Always pray to meet riders with good heart.

Whatever GAZZUZZ want to charge for talking to clients on the phone is not my problem.

I only gave advise that work for me regarding air condition.

I have once called GAZZUZZ regarding a problem, all he told me is 10k diagnosis, I declined and check with the other mechanic, and that work for me, and much cheaper to compare what he is charging.
We all know that ipekere and plantain chips are the same but we choose to pay more for plantain chips because of the packaging. It's a matter of choice

It's good if u have conquered .. Let me borrow your own words 'I shouldn't drive a month before I know what is obtainable, cus it's already conquered'
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by deedee44: 7:15am On Feb 13, 2018
Carshopper:
We have done it over n over... we don't need to come here n make noise. And I don't need to show the driver what is obtainable
At last you got my point, driver is not asking you to show him what is obtainable. Just give him your terms & conditions and if he agrees he takes the job. But driving for few days to duduce what is obtainable in a month is just.. laughable grin
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by deedee44: 7:10am On Feb 13, 2018
Lol whatever you think sir, but how can you be scared of what you've already conquered cheesy
Carshopper:
Lol... that driving within lagos is scary for u grin
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by deedee44: 7:05am On Feb 13, 2018
Hmmm then work smart for a month first and show your driver what is obtainable. It's always easier said than done grin
Carshopper:
You are not supposed to drive all the time ... working smart doesn't mean driving all the time ... it means taking advantage of peak times and not driving up and down like kabu kabu grin

From the samples on display, its safe to say Uber is more rider friendly than driver while taxify is more driver friendly than rider.
The taxify pickup location my have an unseen boost. U never can tell.
Wait till you have an issue with your fare, that's when you will know your true friend. From experience, one will abandon you while one will be there for you

You cannot drive in your spare time when your energy level is green and use it to determine what is consistently obtainable.
Carshopper:
I still maintain it .. Fleet managers don't have to drive on the system .. Gazzuz drove to know what is OBTAINABLE

Don't argue blindly with carshopper ... I manage with proven facts ... 2years running (one vehicle break down, 4 still on point, same Driver for the past 1year)

I manage with facts ... grin
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by deedee44: 9:50pm On Feb 11, 2018
To begin with, it's N60/km and not N55
Then where did u hide the N200 base fare and N11/min.
Using your 100km case study, some assumptions must be included so the calculation should look like...
60*100 = 6000
11*300 = 3300 (assuming it takes 5 hrs to complete 100km)
200*7 = 1400 (assuming it takes 7 trips to cover 100km)
Therefore gross = 10700
Net = gross - fuel (in the absence of other expenses)
.: net = (0.75 * 10700) - 2100 = 5925
Still a very low return on investment IMO

abilityC:
Guys im trying to figure profitability or not please help me out.
55naira per Km
Car counsumes 14L per 100km
assuming fuel price is at 150

Hence 14 * 150 = 2100 (Fuel cost)
55 * 100 = 5500 (Gross earnings)
0.25 * 5500 = 1375 (Uber commission)

2100 + 1375 = 3475 (Assumed total cost)

5500-3475 = 2025 (Profit or assumed Net Earnings)
Does that mean to get 20,250 Naira profit i need to drive 1000 KM?

That's not my point sir, I actually meant the extra stress that goes with manual. You body complains quicker than when driving auto. There shd be a little compensation for that wink
Besides.. in my driving history of about 15 years, 80% of the vehicles I've driven so far are manual

Safe place as defined by the driver or the passenger?
Why didn't he take her back to the pick up location?
Would he have done the same thing to a passenger whom he's sure could overpower him in a fight?

He is suing after breaching contract, taking to an unknown location (his house) against her will - after which she removed key from ignition, touching her without her consent - after which she used the pepper spray on him.
As much as I pity the guy, he took too many wrong moves.
IMO, you're not a driver, and if you are then you don't drive at night. You need to be in the guy's shoes to understand the difficult decisions he made

There are many lies being peddeled on this thread.

Ask yourself why a guy who works night and day, and who was paying 55k weekly will just drive a car into water. Does that make sense?

There will be a day the truth will be revealed. For now, let everyone believe what they want to.
Maybe he dozed off, nature is a b*tch grin grin

My brother I understand how you feel, sorry about all this. But I will advise you quit your job and drive your car yourself if it is that important to you. Besides you didn't consult us before venturing into this business. I expect to see scores of weekly incomes here to motivate other driver partners not your sorry ass. Sorry though but some of us quited our jobs to do this. Do same that's my advise otherwise take your sorry ass some where and stop consuming my data.
Quietly going through the comments makes much more sense sometimes. Don't worry if you don't have anything positive to contribute nairaland won't ban you for just reading others' great contributions instead of forcing yourself to post rubbish.

Setting destination doesn't guarantee a long trip, and acceptance rate has nothing to do with trip distance as well, to target when movement is high towards a certain direction can work to an extent but overall it's down to luck
