Dovehorizon: @ Thecar, Lol, the date went well, it's time to observe her closely (character, temperament) though it's gonna be a gradual process.
The lady I took to the hotel called and asked if I would be free next week, her family will be coming into town and she wants me around for 5days, I told her as long as I am not moving out of Lagos then no probs... We talked about the fare and we agreed on 45k per day. Time to clear my schedule for nextweek. A whole week? How will you now have time for your business and 2 weeks program. Well I can help you drive them sha for 15k per day if you don't mind while you face other important stuffs and watch Nigeria match with 'her' PS: you make 30k daily for 5 days, that's some partners' 5 weeks remittance (if luckily there are no stories) |

Else insurance won't accept comprehensive claims on those cars They will so pass one way ehn, and how will they cope with road diversions here and there, then when there's flood they will swim pass fish. TheCar: To buttress your point.
If all you bring on the table is driving skills and time remember Uber and other car manufacturers are currently testing driverless car. Once the system is perfected what do you think we happen to your driving skills and time.
Don't be like the old typist who was very good with typewriter but refuse to upgrade his skills when computer was launched.
Never stay static, the same Google map you now use for navigation in Lagos was developed in America/Europe now you are using it in the city of Lagos. Same Uber was developed in Europe, now you use it in Lagos.
So it is just a matter of time, before you know that you need to upgrade and now is the best opportunity for you to do so because now car owners need drivers.
In terms of investment, Drivers gain on the short term whereas the Car Owner gain on the long term.
So if you are a driver now, your plan is to upgrade to become a car owner because you can't be a driver forever, if you don't leave driving, driving will leave you. So you need to start preparing for the day, driving will leave you.
Cheers Let them start using driverless cars, before they introduce it here this generation will be long gone. Nigeria is not ready yet |

AutoElectNG: No car, no driver.
Take your time to watch those programs for people with ideas pitching ideas to people with money to invest.
Ideas or skills are nothing without money to execute them.
If you have been in business you will appreciate this.
In business money is nearly everything.
Money can buy ideas, ideas cannot succeed without money.
Give respect to money and those who have it.
Someday you might be in their shoes and will feel their pain The last statement about partner bringing only money was obviously a joke, and why do sound like you know I'm not already in their shoes. U don't judge a book by its cover u know |

Carshopper: driving skills ke... please don't quote this outside o... driving skills and drivers don't know about driving management ... having accidents upandan ...
when u talk on Time... the partner is hit more... do u have a idea of how much time it takes on ROI? drivers time is calculated to best possible reach (peak period - off peak ). partner time is calculated with uncertainty. Abeg no make me talk too much this morning ... na money I wan find so I will quote it anyday anytime anywhere, I've been driving for 15 years and I've not had any major ish, it's God's grace and driving SKILLS How many drivers are having accidents upandan? Less than 3% Okay partner will wait say 2 years on ROI, lazy youths wait 5 years doing nothing so anybody can wait. Besides I put it in quote that time driving upandan, that's why partner is not driving the car him/herself or probably doesn't have the energy/strenghth/ruggedness to do it which the driver also brings. Yes sir, driver brings something, many things. Owner only brings money (car) |

Carshopper: The big truth is that the Lucky individual out of all parties is the driver.. he doesn't have to wait 2years to start reaping TOO
Your ROI starts roughly 10months .. within that period u may have changed drivers twice, had a lay off period to rethink, had a downtime period of 1month or two etc.
Asset may b involved in total loss (insurance will cover to an extent).
The driver comes with basically nothing ... but he is able to take care of needs (defaults happen more because driver also has needs to be taken care of)
The basic truth is every partner goes into the bizness with different plans. Some plans don't look into ROI over long term, some take into consideration what need can I take care of putting my vehicle on e-hailing.
Till you understand what made you venture into e-hailing as an investment, then will you be able to accommodate how u profit/loss account. The driver comes with driving skills, and TIME (to drive the car upandan to make money).. something the car owner cannot afford |

dru23: Yes my brother, I respect your view as man .. But reason with me.. Out of 100 drivers how many of them can you be fair to and they will be fair to you ..please keep in mind ,I stated that it is good to be fair and have pity ..but make sure you carry your brain along when doing it .. I hope u undestand my view I will say as low as just 5%. I perfectly understand your view and I must admit you are very right as well. But that driver he's presently being fair to might just be one of the 5. We just need luck and God's grace & guidance because smartness alone cannot give desired outcome in this business for both drivers and partners |

dru23: [/b]
From experince my brother, whether you give them 30k or 35k or even 25k . That your car will never be the same, by the time they are finish with your car , the weekly rental will not be enough to cover the cost... regardless how low the rental you give them, they will still over stress the car ...now coz you have two cars on uber/ taxify now, it might be easy to manage. Once you start having more cars ,you need to maximise your profit.. Those that know, they know what am talking about.. Just because you go the extra mile for them , it does not meant they will return the favour.. If you are leaving the driver to do oil change for you or the basic stuff ..Base on the fact that you pity them.. My brother they will not have pity on you ...maximise your profit .. Am talking from experience.. They should be fairness in business, not sentiment... And aslo unless you want deceive yourself, there are some weeks that all profit will go to repairs " quote me if am wrong". And if you have not experience that yet ,don't worry it will surely come ...am not saying you should a jerk to the drivers o, but you need to also face facts ... it is good to pity people, but use your brains along with it ... You always say we can agree to disagree, so I humbly disagree with some of your arguments here. You make it sound like all drivers over stress cars and all drivers don't have pity on car owners, that is unfair to the few who actually are the opposite of what you're branding them to be And definition of fairness varies from individual to individual, that his own fairness puts more smiles on drivers' faces than yours doesn't make it sentiment, it's still fairness Thank you |

But I was making enough to make me happy. Every time I pulled up, riders somehow always just thought they were going to be paying extra money. My point is, if it is your car, and maybe it's the only option. You will make money if you plan on driving it yourself. But it is a no no if you plan on renting it out. Okay thanks. |
