PoliticsRe: Driver Sent To Prison For Blocking Fashola’s Convoy by deeflamez(m): 8:12am On May 25, 2012
atuboweke: fashola/tinubu are now bringing out their true colours. The road project in my area has suddenly stopped halfway and nothing is bin done about it. Now they are getting on the poor masses. First the doctors and the poor masses are dying every day. Now a truck driver bin jailed for traffic offence. FASHOLA AND TINUBU GOD IS WATCHING YOU OHH!!!!!
Please keep your mouth shut, it is the job of the Ministry of Works to monitor ongoing projects in the State not that of the Governor. Just because the gutter in your area or a port-hole on your street is in a bad shape, please hold your Local Govt responsible you can't blame the Governor. The Ministries concerned have contrated the work, its left for them to monitor while they deliver. So please spare the man and stop being so myopic

Ohhh please shaattaaap!!! Just when i was thinking you were gonna make sense, you failed to even make the time you wasted here writing this post worth it. For your info, he was charged for multiple offences, reckless driving, obstruction of traffic, lack of license or even vehicle papers etc., and still had the gut to plead not guilty, his bail was set at a certain amount and he didn't meet up, case was adjourned and he's remanded in police custody till he's tried. We call for Govt to curb the execesses of these drivers, now just when one is used as a 'Scape goat' we cry 'foul'. Your kind needs to be lined up and shot in the head for spewing this from that thing sitting on your neck you call a 'head', it will be doing you a favor

Smooth278: You obviously know nothing about what being a Dr in Nigeria is all about so don't go on talking as if u know anything, lemme ask u a question, how much can i give you to get infected with HIV or Hepatitis B or Lassa feverhuh yet our Nigeria doctors regularly deal with infected people all day long with the risk of getting all these infectious diseases in order to save life and are for the most part not appreciated by the public!!! Hazard allowance for doctors is about #5,000... now go do your research and tell us how much a Dr in any advanced society earns and then come back and talk!!!

http://hypertextbook.com/facts/2004/TiffanyYam.shtml
^^^
Oh please i have an idea what it takes to be a Doc in Nigeria, ofcourse i expect only Doctors to attack me on this. Am not exonerating the State Government from this too, but first and most importantly, you can't claim to be in a professional of saving lives and still go ahead to abandon the same patients depending on you in the hospitals just because of 'pay'. Its just like a Police officer aiding crime because of the same reasons, patience is what is applicable in this case, but the actions of the Doctors could pass for blackmail and terrorism (putting lives at risk for their own welfare-increase) which has always been reveiwed time and time again. And ofcourse the Government refused to negotiate with 'terrorists' and took action against them.

Call me insensitive, but will you refuse to treat your mother just because you didn't get a salary raise? Ofcourse not. So just as you won't neglect a relative in need, your profession expects you to save lives 'anywhere' even if its in a damn plane and refusal to do so could cost you your dear License!!!

Again, please don't even compare Nigeria to better countries just yet, the State Govt has limited funds that can only do so much, so these Doctors request to be paid as much as what their Federal counterparts are paid can only be done if the FG pumps in more money to the State. Employees in FG Institutions always get more than the State, its not new, if they want FG pay, then they should go ahead and apply for jobs there. Even the N18,000 minimum wage is a challenge for the State Govt. If they are ready to work, then the State Govt can look into their recall, while they review their welfare.
Please let's be objective in our argument, it'll really save us page space and time wasted in bullying our keyboards

Honestly, if i could name everyone that condemned the actions taken against the truck driver, i will and if possible i will recommend them for brain-surgery. I mean what the devil is wrong with y'all? We complain of reckless driving, deathtraps on the road, fatal accidents as a result of these non-chalant 'Road Kings' driving heavy trucks and tankers without giving regard to other road users while endangering their lives, we call for action against them to curb their irresponsible excesses and just when a 'Scap goat' is prosecuted, we scream blue murder cause it was directly involved with the Governor. If he did otherwise, most of us will say he doesn't know his job as the Chief Security Officer of the State.

1. He obstructed traffic DELiBERATELY
2. He had no Driver's License
3. Anyone could have run into the truck and it could have been fatal
4. If an Ambulance on emergency was rushing a patient to hospital, the victim would have died due to that single irresponsible act (just imagine if was your relative)
5. It posed a threat to the security of the number-one citizen of the State, as it could have been perceived as a set-up to assasinate the Governor
...6, 7, 8, 9 and a hundred more reasons would have been to the disadvatage of other road users. We should never sentimentally excuse these unruly behaviours from anybody for that matter. He was only very unlucky to have messed up right in the presence of the State Governor, else it would have been overlooked or maybe he would have bribed out of it and gone scot free. Whether anyone likes it or not, he was rightfully punished according to the Law and please this has nothing to do with 'tickets'.

Please when displaying our level of understanding on a developed soceity on a forum like this, let's speak wisely and without bias. It doesnot help, it only exposes your Foolishness, Stupidity and Ignorance of reality.

And those condemning him for the sack of Doctors, i laugh at your Stupidity, to be honest, they were well-paid, only that they got greedy and their actions which also caused the death of several patients in the hospitals warrants a Sack and even withdrawal of their Medical licences

One more thing, i would recommend Fashola for Presidency, any day, any year, any time.

OK...emmm...am permiting myself to sound a bit 'insultive here. To y'all D'banj haters & Don Jazzy-loyalists, can you please just drop your 'Congrats' & move-da-Bleep-on? Honestly i don't know why some 'myopic' people think, i personally feel they don't deserve a brain, since they aint human enought to 'utilize' it. Haba!!!

Please what's with the Don Jazzy hype? Inasmuch as i love Don Jazzy's work, but as far as Music is concerned, he's barely relevant. D'Banj is the Artiste and therefore he owns the damn song, artiste pay various Producers to produce their tracks, the job is done, deal is sealed in cash or kind and that's the end-of-transaction. If not for D'Banj, no one will fuckin' know Don Jazzy. D'banj is probably the only Nigerian Star that has ever 'brought out' Don Jazzy and even made him more popular than other Musical Artistes. So what more can you ask from a loyal artiste. When Clarence Peters directs a muscal video, does he take props for the Song? Or does the make-up artiste in 'Tranformers' take props for the movie itself?

Simple...y'all only heard about Don Jazzy cos D'Banj gave him all that hype. Producers are hardly known unless they also sing. D'banj made Don Jazzy Nigeria's 'richest' & 'most popular' Producer. If you ask other popular Artistes to name their producers, you'll probably never have heard their names before.

Timberland produced a couple of Omarion tracks & other artistes? Who do we give the props? Uhn?
Samklef made Wizkid's beats, but who owns the damn songs. Who's given props for the fuckin album? Wizkid ofcos, not even Banky.
Don Jazzy produces the damn tracks, D'Banj sings the damn songs. So who's the fuckin' Artiste? Fill in the gap ________

D'banj met Kanye at a Dubai airport & approached him, fixed an appointment, even involved Don Jazzy, later don Jazzy backed out cos of fear of International 'competition & his 'un-eagerness' to leave his 'Local Champion' - locality. Others Artistes are making International collaborations, he sidon for ontop 'Subsidy-Nation' dey form Don.

Please face reality & wish them the best jor.

RomanceRe: Car Or Girlfriend: Which Is More Expensive? by deeflamez(m): 12:39am On Apr 27, 2012
It's simple: Get a good car that suits your needs depending on the size of your pocket. If you don't earn up to half-a-million naira monthly, go for a nice Civic, Accord, Nissan, Kia & the likes. Trust me, with that alone, your girl will stick longer with you cause it'll benefit both you and her. You don't wanna be jumping bus, bikes & waiting endlessly in the sun and rain cause you aint mobile.

Mobility is no longer a 'luxury', it has become a necessity if you can afford it. I spend less and visit more places when on wheels than without. With N5,000 and fuel in your car, you can have fun by cruising to the beach, a friend's party or cinemas & have a swell time unlike if you have no car, trust me you'll spend more & yet make little impact.

In otherwords, you'll enjoy your life & even your relationship more on wheels than on foot...plus you'll be more sociable & meet more people that will raise your standards because you have set a standard for yourself, no one will look down on you (it has nothing to do with self-esteem) e.g, most people would rather relate with you cause they see you as successful than if you aint with wheels.

If you're a businessman & you walk up to me sweaty-sun-beaten cause you have no car, i won't trust your credibility in delivering your business idea to me. Meaning its easier to preach 'success' when you look 'successful. Get a car, and trust me its a gift you'll always be thankful for. #nuffsaid @willadebo

The FULL NEWS below>>>>

By Simon Ebegbulem & Gabriel Enogholase

BENIN-GOVERNOR Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, Monday, ordered the immediate arrest and prosecution of the Chairman of the state Task Force on Demolition of Illegal Properties, Major Lawrence Loye (rtd) for carrying out illegal and unauthorised demolition of buildings in Benin, the state capital.

He gave the order while inspecting an illegally demolished building on Siluko Road, Benin City.

Governor Oshiomhole said: “As you have seen, this building that has been destroyed does not in any way affect the moat. There is enough space between the property and the moat. The fact that you work for government does not give you licence to visit harm and destruction on innocent people.

“I am convinced that he acted in bad faith. He is a sadist and his purpose is to confuse the people about the genuineness of our intention.

“Major Loye on his own without authorisation from the Commissioner moved to this location and brought down this building. He is not a town planning officer. He is only to carry out demolitions after a competent officer identifies a property that offends the right of way. He had assumed the powers of the Ministry of Land and Environment. On his own, without being told, he goes about marking houses indiscriminately.

“I remain committed. If any property obstructs the right of way, it will be demolished, it does not matter who owns it.”

He added that if any property does not constitute any blockade, such property is entitled to government protection.

Oshiomhole added: “I am handing him over now to the police for prosecution for illegal destruction of property. He will be prosecuted according to the law. Although the governor can revoke property for public interest, I have not handed over that power to Major Loye and he cannot acquire those powers.

“If he seeks to use personal biases to do what he has done, then he must be subjected to the Rule of Law and we must bring him to justice.”
PhonesRe: What Blackberry Phone Has The Longest Battery-life? by deeflamez(m): 1:59pm On Sep 14, 2011
nice opinions. From my own point of view and reviews concerning blackberry phones, having a spare battery could be an option but doesnt solved the problem.
I believe you all one way or the other have used or currently using emails on your nokia also.
The point is receiving emails, groups msg notification sounds, bbm msgs sounds and continuous usage of typing drains the battery.
So having a spare battery doesnt mean both cant drain in less than 6 hours without power supply.
Suggestions: if you can turn off the sound, leave thr group u have no interests in,reduce brightness of d fone, close apps u r not using, turn off the vibration of your fone, giving the battery a full charge by avoiding partial charge, reduce the volume of the warning tones, turn of wifi if not in use, keep the fone away from heat and magnetic objects, avoid overcharging the ba3,always use the original charger for charging the fone, avoid restarting the fone too often as it can hamper the ba2 life too, turn off bluetooth if not in use, always run on 2G/3G rather than 3G only.
I believe you will enjoy the ba3 life of your blackberry

Fanx, just wat i was about to say. Now let me add, Blackberry phones like many other smart phones have not-so-long battery life as a result of their MANY functions. A Nokia 3310 battery can last you 4 days for all i care, that's cause its only used to make/receive calls and messages (almost nothing else). undecided

A nokia N900 on the other hand does a hundred functions and runs many applications almost like a PC. Now that's where the Blackberry comes in------Its the most commonly used and runs not only applications but also endless messages via bbm (PINGS),emails, calls, sms, music, twitter, facebook and so on, haba, how then do you expect the battery to last that long. angry angry angry

Mind you, you hardly see people 'marrying' their Nokia smart phones the way they do the Blackberry. This is a phone where you PING on the go >>> bus stop, bus, market, room, parlor, office, canteen, cinemas, shopping mall, bla bla bla, give the phone a rest and you'll see a difference in the battery life (I mean, just treat it like a nokia and stop incessant PINGING for a day). smiley smiley smiley

By the way, Bold 1 (9000) battery aint good compared to the newer ones like Curve 3 3G,Bold 9650,9700,9780 and Torch 9800. And if you're a heavey-user like me, get an extra battery. I use 3 batteries on the go, #SHIKENA. grin grin grin

Wow i feel so inspired by the comments so far.

Ok me oh,i grew up with my mom,she had a decent job but i understood all wasnt rosy so as a child i didnt really grow up with toys and all those other things children had, not even games. But i took interest in reading until i read practically anything i came across including my mom's Law Bokks and Journals no matter how boring.
Attended a boarding Primary and Secondary School, then my father showed up from nowhere and sent me to a Private University. I managed what my mom gave me until my 3rd year when i lost my mom and kid brother in an fatal accident as an only survivor,by then my final year tuition had already been paid. I just resumed school, graduated and with the help of a little business on the side proceeded to NYSC, currently serving though. As for my dad, based in UK, married with kids still insists that he has done all he owes me and that's EDUCATION #SHIKENA

BusinessRe: Nairaland Quoted In Sanusi Critique In Thisday Newspaper by deeflamez(m): 1:18pm On Jul 04, 2011
To you all condemning Sanusi's actions, these are merely steps to boost the economy and provide job opportunities. You all expect him to sit in his office, watching the stock and foreign exchange and formulate policies without innovating PRACTICAL economic strategies such as this to help the nation's economic situation? Nah, am sorry it doesnt work that way. The Nigerian situation needs urgent resuscication and it cant be tackled simply by formulating policies and passing bills. What you dont know is that if it takes a 'world class hotel', 'poultry' or even a resort to CONTRIBUTE in boosting the nation's economy, then its all needed. Atleast you all will agree that it far better than spending vain days in power passing bills and paying the Legislators fat-salaries for doing NOTHING. Sanusi is hereby doing SOMETHING, afterall we havent seen ANYTHING  that GEJ has done DONE or done EFFECTIVELY (He is busy nominating semi-literate-empty-brained-non-technocrats into office, i dont blame him much though --- afterall, men of same IQ roll together). As much as Dubai is an oil-producing location, its government tactifully invested in tourism so as to have something else to bounce back on when oil runs out as predicted years from now. So please let the man be, because since we cant point out the negative effects of building and investing in profitable-businesses being embarked upon by the CBN in its contribution to save Nigeria, then lets just pray for the best in such exploits and the success of many more to come. Nigeria has been taking loans from the World Bank and other Monetary Bodies, its time for us to drop those loans and start loaning to nations instead cool cool cool.
