KOVIC19COVID20: Icon8, as someone who followed this debate between Justwise and ralph 2 weeks ago, I can categorically tell you that I have my opinion on who would perform worst than Buhari and who among those two guys have dictatorial tendencies.
Whereas one of the guys was saying if you do not watch live Tv, and they come for you, you fill a form and they will give you an exemption. The other guy was saying if you do not watch live Tv and they come for you, slam the door in their faces.
Both of those ‘solutions’ can be carried out. But one of those solutions (Ralph’s) is what law abiding citizens would do. The second solution (Justwise) sounded to me like what dodgy people would do.
One of the guys refused to agree that the formal and legal application is correct, rather slamming door is solution.
Guess who got banned? The guy who painfully went to provide us with link of how to apply (like law abiding citizens) for an exempt.
To worsen it, some dude is now even playing the race card.
I give up. I will never blame Buhari or Kim Jong Un or General Franco again.
Dictators are everywhere. Even in small Nairaland, see how someone is wielding power like a god. Banning people for saying what is 100% true. Gbam!!! However, I hope your post doesn’t get hidden. |

TheGuyFromHR: Lol, na dem. I visited a friend of mine who had a 13 year old daughter one summer a while back. She was going out and he was complaining bitterly about how she was dressed (she was wearing something short and skimpy enough to give an average Nigerian grounds to cast and bind her). Her mother too added her voice ("Go and cover yourself now!"} and a mini-altercation broke out and the girl left anyway.
I told the chap that having made the transition to the white man's land to raise your children, one should better get ready for anything. The children could embrace any sexuality or lifestyle. They might decide not to become the doctor, lawyer, engineer so beloved of Nigerian parents, or even to go to university at all. Or they might take off in old age and leave you to the tender mercies of the care system and whatever equity you have in your home. All one can do is try to nudge them in a desired direction through acculturation (difficult to do as our communities in the abroad generally exist for showing off and strange competition as opposed to those of the Asians, for instance), do a lot of praying if you're invested in any desired outcomes, and start researching old people's/assisted living options just in case. I know one bros that none of his 5 children (born in the uk) went to the university. it still pains him till tomorrow but there wasn't much he could have done. |

Vicas2000: There is a question on the application form as thus: --- Have you provided evidence of your English language ability in a previous application?
You must have provided evidence that you either:
- scored level B1, B2, C1 or C2 on an approved English language test which assessed your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills - have a degree which was taught in English - have an English GCSE, A level or Scottish National 4 or 5, Higher, or Advanced Higher qualification --- Am I correct to say that the "previous application" they are talking about refers to application to the school? Your answer here is NO The previous application they are talking about is a visa application. |

mohtunrahyor: UKVI New Rule Ensure that you maintain your funds in your account until your visa is approved. You can’t clear your account after printing your bank statement after the 28days again. UKVI now make decisions based on the time they check account statement. Has this not always been the rule? |

Brimmie: I already have a conditional offer from Bournemouth, but asking for “English Qualification - Document Upload”, do you think I should send my NECO certificate as well? Bournemouth won’t accept your neco. You can use English proficiency letter if you graduate in the last 2 years. If it’s more than 2 years, they won’t accept either. However, you can still try your luck. Don’t lemme discourage you! |

LavishUK: Hello gurus in the house, if vignette on the VISA is set to expire in 3 months and one can only travel to the UK a month before the course begins, which means the vignette is most likely going to expire before then, what then happens?
Someone, kindly explain this, thank you. When filling your form, you will be asked to fill a date that you want to travel (most people fill a month before their course will start). I think that’s when the validity of your vignette will begin and it will expire 90 days after. |

justwise: Not really sure about this, what is difference between both? Online one and hardcopy It contains same information. Grades, candidate name, exam number, center number, exam year etc. Just that one is an online printout using a scratch card while the other is the certificate (hardcopy). In this case, the certificate is missing. |

Angelswt: Thank you for your clarity.
Please kindly advise,
Please regarding POF, is it okay for instance, I print out my statement few weeks before I actually submit my application online?
That is using the same statement for both CAS and visa application.
Knowing that the day I submit my online application will not be in the bank statement.
Or I should print a new one from the day I submit my online application?
Thank you. You can use the statement for CAS and visa application as long as it falls within the 31 days rule. The day you submit online doesn’t have to reflect in the bank statement. What matters is that, the day you printout, the caseworker will starting counting backwards up to 28days. Shikena!!! The day you submit online is what will be used as the exchange rate on oanda. |
