worldazzling: Hello Everyone, I would like to ask a question here
I am filling my Visa application form, there were a couple of questions I need clarification on:
1. Do you have relatives in the UK? I filled in that my immediate brother/wife are in the UK (British citizens)
2. Where do you intend to stay during your course - I filled in my Schools address as I am yet to pay for the accommodation I requested yet.
3. Are there any other places you want to stay? What should I fill in this section, Can I fill in my brothers address considering that I intend on living with my brother (stated in No.1 above) for the first 1 month before I get my own private accomodation? Just fill No and move on to the next stage. Having a relative doesn’t necessarily mean you want to live with them. Your school address is fine for you and your dependants if any. Their address will be useful when filling locator form for quarantine. gboye2: Can anyone help with this? The gurus in the house! |

My school gave me CAS a day after deposit. In the CAS, there is a collection code to put in the form but while looking at the visa form, I haven't seen anywhere to put the details of where I will collect the BRP
Is it because I haven't submitted the form and paid ihs and co? Abi my eyes dey see double ?
Also, my appointment for TB test is for 10.30. Will I be able to get the result that day. Don’t worry, before final submission you will see it. When you pay ihs and visa fee |

TheGuyFromHR: Yes. The date on which you submit the form to UKVI online and pay the visa fee and IHS fee is the date of your application, irrespective of when you go for biometrics. Your maintenance funds should have been held for up to 28 days by that date. To buttress your statement, I don’t know where people are getting the narrative that they can pay their visa fee and ihs fee when the proof of funds isn’t up to 28days yet. All in the name of “I want to get an earlier date for biometrics” It has been mentioned here repeatedly that Date of application is NOT the same as biometrics date. |

fetomowo: No! You are fine wether you add to it or not.
Let me state this here cos I see a lot around conversion rate. When you set aside money for 28 days. Go to OANDA and print your conversion rate.
Back in 2013, when I applied, the money I set aside for 28 days didn't cut it by the 28th day. Exchange rate had taken off a bit out of it. There was no time to do another round. So what I did was to print the OANDA rate on the day I set aside the funds. It was clearly the requires amount.
The officials are not unreasonable people. I think it was 2017 that exchange rate pulmet to unthinkable levels, I gave this hack to someone and he got his visa like I did.
No matter how much buffer you have, if the Naira goes on free fall, it won't cut it. Hence, what's most important is the currency equivalence on the first day you start counting your 28 days. Ensure it is what is required. The bolded is ALL SHADES OF WRONG... |

perisabc: If you are running your bank statements, pls use 620 and above. Don't follow what some people are saying that you can use Oanda rate for the day you started running your statement. It is false. UKVI will use Oanda rate for the day you do biometrics. More so, it is not compulsory your opening balance matches your closing balance in as much you don't spend beyond your required funds. You are also wrong.

Vicas2000: Just want to check that my calculation are correct.
My POF was deposited on the 24th of May 2021 and on my online statement I can see closing balance of that day at the exact amount I want for POF.
With 28 days count, that means that my POF bank statement should show the deposit between 24th May 2021 till 21st June 2021.
If I print my statement today 22nd of June with the above, would that be sufficient for my student visa application?
I need someone to please have a second look and confirm that I am right, please. Since you deposited on May 24th, why not calculate from May 25-June 22 and print on the 23rd. Just saying |

AirBay: Hello house, Pls I want to pay IHS fees for my dependant and I for a PhD course from 1 sept 2021- 31 August 2025.
The IHS fees calculator shows £2115 for each applicant but a student pays £470.
£470 x 4 = £1880
I don't know how the calculator arrived at £2115.
If I pay this, is it possible to get a refund? Or is there anything I am missing out? £1880 + £235 = £2115 I believe that £235 is for the extra 4 months that will be added to visa. |

For a PhD applicant, do I have to pay all the IHS fees for me and my dependant all at once or I can pay yearly? My course start date is 09/2021 and proposed end date is 08/2025. As long as you or your dependant are applying for visa, you will pay your ihs fees at once. PhD 4yrs ihs. That’s some cool money |

NkemJesus: Yes the POF is the bank statement showing that you have the amount you declared in that account for the period of 28days and must be there till your visa is out. It must spend 28days before you will print and send to the school and they will study it to make sure the money is ok and has spend the number of days before issuing you CAS. Do we have 2 Sheffield Hallam’s in the UK? |
