akaprince: Kindly take note that your tb test result must still be valid at the border entry in the UK. They will ask to see it. You could confirm from IOM. Nah…… What matters is it’s validity at the time of visa application. |

milkytins: This is also my situation and my calculations. But someone said it will be more than this when you are about to make the payment on their webpage. Taking the student's visa as example, £470 per year but they charge $1,018 per year when you want to make the payment. $1,018 is far more than £470. Probably, £624 for skilled worker could be far more than £624 at the point of payment. Anyone that just passed through this process of skilled visa can pls share more light. Nobody is paying more, if you read well you will see that for student it’s £470 per year and for every additional six months you pay £235. The amount you pay depends on the length of your visa. |

I even did a physical interview where I had to drive from Manchester to Notthingham. So it just depends on the company |

Emurate1: You would have to go through ECCITS/NARIC if you don't want to write IELTS or any other English Exam. It's more expensive though. 140 pounds £140 but when they added vat it became £177. They deducted £177 from my card straight up. When I first knew about Naric, it used to be £30. |

dee1504: Very rare, in fact, extremely rare. 5 years CoS is 5k pounds and most organisations wont want to pay that amount for someone they are not sure of. 3 years CoS has been the norm for a long time now Most of these care homes are classified as small organisations. With less than 2k, you can get sponsored for 5years. People do get it

Better accept your thing and start preparing for your Visa appointment. Congratulations, by the way Yes, there is 5 years and a company is willing to offer but they pay less Thanks buddy. I actually took job hunting as a second job. |

TheGuyFromHR: Why do you see any danger therein? Even if a company offers you 5 years, it's still the same thing in terms of "security" - they could still withdraw their sponsorship at any time (job loss). One could argue that the longer the offer, the more valuable the company deems the new sponsee and the less likely they will be to terminate them, which may apply in theory, but lessens the insecurity of an employer-dependent visa not at all.
Bottom line: take it. Remember you can still switch jobs at any time and the fact that you have secured employment, and sponsored employment at that, usually makes you more attractive to other employers than otherwise, all other factors being equal. LagosismyHome: There is no danger....after 3 years it shouldn't be hard to get the additional 2 years either with same company or another. Mainly because at that time you have proper UK relevant experience and already in the Uk
3 years or 5 years anybody can be sacked or made redundant at any time. Don't let the number of years fool you into a sense of security. Just ensure you do your work well at all times and people skills at all angles is essential too Thanks for your input, well noted and understandable. The sponsorship is for the recent Care Worker visa, what is bothering me is that the UK government changes rules and regulations. Just few months ago, care workers couldn't be sponsored and it wasn't on the shortage occupation list, what if at the time of renewal, care workers couldn't be sponsored anymore or the regulation at the time doesn't make it easy to get sponsorship. That's all I am worried about and again care work is still an unskilled job. If it were to be the likes of the Nurses and other healthcare professional jobs, maybe I wouldn't be worried. Thanks all the same guys. I have a 5 year sponsorship offer as well, it's just that the one that is offering 3 years pays a lot more. |

Jaybadestboy: Its getting harder and harder as they are exhausting thier sponsorship allocation Is it that after getting a sponsorship licence, there is a maximum number of employees they can sponsor at a time. Cos I have been seeing some companies say that one batch is full and you have to wait for another like 6 months for another batch. Do you know how it works? |

If you can tell me the exact role, I might be able to tell if it's necessary to write an IELTS exam or if Ecctis will suffice and all you have to do is back it up with evidence

I am already looking into booking IELTS o...I pray it's positive outcome....... I believe the Solicitor will know better . I’m not sure if I understand you. But if you have a Uk degree, you don’t need Ecctis or IELTS to prove your knowledge of English Language. |

mydeporch: Hopefully she does. Am also interested in the update please. I intend applying for Naric ..I am contemplating on whether I should opt for Naric or just do the IELTS they recognize easily. All the best. I think it’s their ignorance jare. It’s clearly written on the uk government website. Most of these oyinbos don’t know much about immigration rules. So I sent a mail and she replied “ We will gain confirmation from our solicitor and come back to you should we require any further test reports.” So I believe the Solicitor should be more informed and hopefully my Ecctis would be accepted. Thanks guys. |

Is it advisable to convert now or convert towards the end of the program? If now, what is the best and safest way to go about it for smooth transitioning from student to sponsored worker. Thanks
