Nwaikpe: So islam was fighting for freedom when it attacked America on 9/11? So islam was fighting for freedom when ISIS attacked and slaughtered Christians? So islam was fighting for freedom when they attacked schools in Northern Nigeria through Boko Haram? So islam was fighting for freedon when they attacked Christians in Pakistan? So islam was fighting for freedom when they attacked Deborah in Sokoto?
So islam, who is the embodiment of terrorism, is fighting for freedom?
Your god allah has eaten your brain. I keep telling you I am not Muslim and I even despise Islam (as I do all Abrahamic religions) but you insist on tagging me a Muslim. That's your cup of tea. No, in most of those instances above, there was actual terrorism. It's just that in some cases freedom fighters or adversaries are tagged terrorists deliberately. One case I can think of is the FG tagging Nnamdi Kanu a terrorist. He was a separatist, but no terrorist. |

If you're defending colonial masters who came to enslave your people, rape your land to develop theirs and gave you anthems to enforce their territorial theft of your land.

Firstcitizen: The pussy face cunt now claims he knew about the laws before he denied their existence. Such a shameless transvestite. Ol boy, this your tongue na die oh. Well let me school you a lil, lil bro. You see, a fundamental right is something that rests on you by your very existence. It is not donated by any law. That is why it is called fundamental. It is inherent. No law can take it away from you. Even the architect Wirinet understands this. Now, in addition to this freedom of speech, thought and conscience are not just fundamental rights, they are specially stated in the Constitution which is the grundnorm. A grundnorm, in xase you dont know, is a fundamental, root and supreme source of a legal system. The constitution further provides that any law which is inconsistent with its provisions is void to the extent of its inconsistency. Thus, the laws you cited which infringe fundamental rights are void. In the same way, any law purporting to take away your right to life and liberty would be void. This does not mean that you cannot forfeit those rights by committing crimes. In the instant case, the very description of those crimes you referred to is in stark contradiction to fundamental rights because they are so vague and subject to opinion and subjectivity in many cases. This is why those things, under our legal system, are best understood as torts, not crimes. You are a small boy, it's obvious, and you know nothing. You also lack the quality of intellect to probe and analyse things. Your limit is - "that is what I saw written somewhere." You are shallow. |

It's very easy to brand those fighting for their freedoms with the tag "terrorist" in order to demonize them. They did the same to Mandela. Both Britain and the USA branded him a terrorist. What is sad is enslaved Africans falling for it. |

wirinet: Me I am not a lawyer, I studied architecture at the university, so the only law course I took was Land Law. Having said that, I understand the general principle of law and law making, which is to build a peaceful and stable society, through equity, transparency and natural justice. The goal of the Penal Code does not include these. The Penal Code currently in use today is a law enacted in 30th September 1960 (a day before independence), an offshoot of the Penal Code of the colonial government. Its goal was to keep the general population under check and subservient to the central government. The Penal Code is so voluminous, it has 37 chapters and over 470 sections. Majority of the items of the Penal Code are ambigious, it is only be used to oppress the poor and helpless citizens. Here is a link to the Penal Code (section 26 - 37) - https://lawsofnigeria.placng.org/view2.php?sn=432
Firstcitizen is probably not aware that the same Penal Code he is supporting with his "law is law" in chapter 2 section 55 permits a husband, teacher, master to beat his wife/student/slave and children as long as his intention is not to kill them. There are so many other stupid laws like the criminalisation of juju and criticizing the person of the President or the Governor of a State.
You can download the other sections of the Penal Code here - https://sabilaw.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Penal-Code-Act-1960.pdf When I told him his jurisprudence is weak, he thought I was joking. Now look at an architect being far more jurisprudential than him. |

Lomprico2: Aljazeerah journalists, who are terrorists sympathizers and mingle with the Hamas fighters. What of those hospital IDF bombed that that whole world were shouting? When the ground force raided it, lots and lots of weapons were discovered. I'm not in support of any faction in this war but if Hamas wants to fight a war they should fight one and evacuate their children and women to a safer place. Hiding among these civilians and fighting your enemy is high stupidity or plain wickedness. This is not an excuse, what about the case of World Kitchen. That alone speaks volumes. Secondly there is no way a tacky resistance like Hamas can face a high tech orthodox army backed by the most powerful country in the world in open battle. Get serious. That is why guerilla tactics are their only option. |

Lomprico2: Before Russia invaded Ukraine, the Ukrainian government evacuated the elderly, women and children and their soldiers faced Russia. That's how war should be fought. But you see those useless cowards Hamas, they gather the children and women around themselves and are throwing missiles at their enemy. That's why it seems like it's children IDF is targeting. Hamas should come out with there full chest and fight isreal with Honor or surrender and end the war. They should stop using civilians and children as shields. Isreal no send anybody papa o! This business of using children as shields is mostly a genocidal excuse Israel creates in order to slaughter with absolute abandon. The truth is that they even designate kill zones in which they kill anything that moves and that is how they ended up even killing their own soldiers as well. Look at the case of the aid organization World Kitchen. They even notified the IDF of their location and yet the IDF target bombed them three times to make sure they died. The IDF has killed over a hundred journalists in this war. The highest by any army. Are journalists also being used as shields? Don't just swallow everything you hear from Israel and the West, reason. |

SaLongs1: So it is agreed that Palestine is Jewish right from history? I thought it is only recently been seized by the Jews? Recorded human history is only some six thousand years or less. For a third of that time, two thousand years, the Jews have been in diaspora mostly in Europe. You can't be away from a place for that long and claim it as exclusively yours. That fails to cognize the natural fluidity and movement of human populations. If you think about it, even your ancestors migrated from somewhere else as well. Can you go back there and claim it today. Can Black Americans claim west Africa today. Arabs have been in Palestine for over one thousand years and so they are also indigenous to the land. Neither should claim it exclusively, they need to compromise and find a workable solution. Ewedegubbler: So which land are the Jews occupying since you acknowledged that the Romans occupied their lands from 70AD? See the above first. In addition to that, the Jews of today are mostly Europeans in actual fact, by dint if having been there for two thousand years and so acclimatized that they are actually now Caucasian and obviously not brown as most Semitic people are. The land that is Palestine and Israel today has ancient indigenes including Jews, Arabs and smaller groups from before either. Neither should claim it exclusively, they need to respect one another and create a joint solution. But the idea of the Jews oppressing the Palestinians and running an apartheid system is abhorrent and abominable. All people of good conscience must condemn it. Especially Africans. Cc: ruggedtimi. LegendHero: You are right.
Also, there is one thing I noted about Tinubu, he is a thinker and a doer. That man is so powerful that he can do anything and no one will raise a feather.
He should not waste his power, he should effect restructuring once and for all. All those lies we always hear that it depend on the National Assemble bla bla bla are just nonsensical statement. Tinubu can get most things done by lobbying them, he should make sure he see to fruition all the items in the restructuring. anything wey wan happen make e happen.
ACN bloc campaigned all their life about restructuring, it will be the greatest disservice if Tinubu won't complete that restructuring with all the power it seems he wields. 3 more years to go, we wait! No president of Nigeria will ever do restructuring because it will amount to reducing his own power. Restructuring will also never be advanced by anyone at the centre because it will reduce their power. Only opposition parties at the state level will cry for it. If they get power at the centre, they will always abandon it - to a man. The only way out is if it is done futuristically - namely that a government will pass the laws against a future date when it has left power. As for Tinubu being a thinker and doer, the fact is he didnt think about the manner of his removal of subsidy and floatation of the naira and he is certainly not thinking about the searing hardship Nigerians are experiencing under his watch. Most Nigerians will remember his time with deep bitterness for the hunger, pain and death it has visited on them - and this will be the case no matter how much you sing his praises. StOla: Like the other poster asserted, my mum who was born in the early 1950s also referred positively to that anthem a lot while I was growing up.
So it would seem it is a generational thing as the oldies yearn for the glorious days of their childhood, while we who were shaped in the military mould, hold on to the things the military gave to us.
If a return to old anthem can be done, then a return to regional governments or better political restructuring can be effected by a democratic government.
It is time for democratic Nigeria to shape Nigeria, instead of just living the system the military regimes put in place to usher a return to democracy.
Tinubu got balls. Let him move beyond this mental rejiging of Nigerians and see through with the necessary changes to national life.
Please see the above as per restructuring. As to Tinubu's balls, some have balls of steel, but he's got balls to steal. |

Kukutente23: Restructuring is also largely a Yoruba agenda but I notice how it has taken back saddle once your man got the seat. The noble goal of restructuring will only ever be championed by people and parties outside government at the centre. No one who grabs power at the centre will ever do anything to reduce its radiance. No one. Just as no NASS member will ever reduce the obscene figures which accrue to them. |
