^^^ You already said "or some alien life form". . . # DELUDING YASEF. |
thehomer: Looks like you have a real hard-on for me and I don't know why.Lol, get over yourself already. Yes, I do have a hard on for ALL strict materialist atheists, I am just having a hard time finding the time to thoroughly screw them. Although of course, these people have been serially r.aped already in the past, and several times on this forum. From which, they emerged so traumatized, that they deny that it has ever occurred. This has happened to you more often than any other, with me as the r.apist. I haven't encountered any right or good arguments in favour of the existence of their Gods. Do you have any? I'm willing to hear your best three. With the bold, you evade the question. Don't bother attempting to correct it, or even respond. It is clear where this will go. A cesspit of definitions where we have been before. You have not answered the question in my OP, and I dont believe you ever will. I'll give up here. Good morning. |
Logicboy03: Now more than ever, I believe atheists truly need an atheist sectionAnd what will be discussed there? Nothing. Atheism is only fun in contradistinction to theism. . . . . . you will have NOTHING to discuss with your fellow atheists. |
thehomer: This is another slanderous claim that you'll have to demonstrate. No one has to demonstrate this. It is like asking people to demonstrate that the sun exists. It is self evident. In Latin -Res ipsa loquitor. The thing speaks for itself. EVERYONE, sees how dumbfoundingly THICK you are. By the by, I opened thread to ask if u have ever heard a good theistic argument. Did you see it or just ignore it? Your choice. |
Mr anony: This is what the Trinity means in short formI REJECT AND ABANDON YOUR REQUEST THAT NON BIBLE BELIEVERS SHOULD NOT COMMENT! Now - Jesus says - https://www.nairaland.com/344297/dr-david-sheds-some-light#4817959 |
Logicboy03: Agreed but why call it god? What are the physical properties of thoughts and ideas? Mind you, i did not ask where they arose from. I ask you what their physical properties are. Think on this carefully. |
wiegraf: Manly?O yes, I value the ability to be bllooddy staight up and direct in life more than anything else! I had perceived you as such, but you dey fall my hand na? The questions are there! For the most part, no, abstract like I mentioned. I only mentioned the 'not special' bit to highlight I don't think consciousness is particularly special. You might be heading in other directions though.End of story, you have shown that, after-all, you believe that non-physical things exist! I'll defend my manly honor if you get around to opening a thread, or address these questions directly by opening another thread.I will hold you to that; once I am done with my key assignments 2moro, I will start by going back to your old thread which I still have in mind. Forgot the title tho. Send it to me, you slave of mine, will, ya. Now! Looking forward to it oga..Honestly, this addiction. Same here o, ought to be up early for important stuff. Instead I am nursing guiness stout and answering crazy materialists like you. One thought - Has it ever occurred to you how strange life is? |
Logicboy03: nope.....the first sentence already highlights the problem of the deistic god.It does not say that it is not the source, or the creator, it does not say that it does not exist. If you have read some of my older posts, you will see that the existence of that source is what I argue; not that you need to go to church or mosque or even consciously worship it. That source (God) would be too transcendental to be concerned about you kneeling down to acknowledge it. |
Logicboy03: The problem is the definition of "god".....A deistic god could exist but he wouldnt be a "god" in the sense that he would only be raw energy or some alien lifeform.Dont you think your second sentence contradicts your first? |
wiegraf: Well, it was a bit confusing. Not saying I'm not an a$$, but it still comes of as silly, my opinion.Contained in the above is your straightforward, manly attitude which is what makes me like your posting style. This is why I found your avoidance of my questions unusual and disturbing. We'll deal with our issues another day good ser, I really shouldn't be procrastinating and I'm fairly sure we'll reach a pointless impasse. I will open a thread when I'm in the mood, and whenever you could, you could then indulge me at your discretion.Dont worry, I am myself planning a big say-all; where I will say everything about why I think strict materialist atheism is siilly, and when I do that, you can b.ang me on the head with a baseball bat full of reasons why I am wrong. But yes, most of those are (for the most part, I'll have to look at them) abstract. My point being materialists do not deny the existence of the abstract, and I already mentioned that hence I see no need to answer to the questions. Materialist POV is simply that they rely on the physical, the physical being the base. Also, I view thoughts simply as computations, like any PC can do. Only thing they miss are emotions, the ability to feel, etc, so I don't consider them anything special.I did not ask if they are special. I asked if they are material. Anyhoo, enjoy the stouts.I tell ya, had to step down from whisky. . . . . . |
thehomer: Maybe there are but don't you think that as a Christian, you shouldn't be bearing false witness? What you've said amounts to lying against me. The way for you to show that you're not lying is for you to back up your slander with evidence. There really are better things to do than worry about someone who regards himself as a stone. |
wiegraf: That's some butthurt, did I perchance jizz in your break fast my good intellectual?Fvcking hell, lolz. You dis guy, you dey on sometin i swear! That brought a laugh! |
wiegraf: So you have one? Can you get to it pls?Aite. That's it. I see you won't answer the questions coz of fear. I am happy that the questions are there. Posterity and the reading public will judge for themselves the following - 1. The questions 2. If the point was made already in the questions 3. Your refusal to address them squarely. I'm on my second Big stout, I need to sleep early today, stop wasting my time, Good night, kind noble and gracious sir. |
chance has no laws that can make behavior predictable Mazaje:CHEI! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! |
wiegraf: Did you have a point? Its been almost 30 minutes since I posted those questions and you have made several replies. I would have thought it wise and honest to simply invest that time (which of course you do not have) into answering the very simple and short questions directly. Anything less is just plain dodgy my friend, and you must per force agree that you are by now being absolutely dodgy. |
wiegraf: You seem to misunderstand. I have, and had, absolutely no intention of indulging in your chocolate flavored $hit. Get to your point. And, um, the f*&k do I care if you're annoyed? That's your prerogative, it's a free world.I am not annoyed, I can only smile at a coward. I see you are scared sh1tless and cant address the simple and short questions. It thus makes sense to pretend that I never asked the questions and also pretend that the point is not obvious within the questions - by asking me to get to my point. I had credited you with better than this. Whenever you are ready, be it tomorrow, next week, next month, next month, or even when we are all six feet under, the questions are there. You can go back to them and answer them. Good evening, kind, noble and gracious sir. |
mazaje: I am talking about a specific god like the christian god that has defined attributes, not your imaginary oneness of infinity that is undefined and has no defined attributes except what YOU personally chose to give it. . .Oneness of infinity is just a god idea you personally created out of thin air and it has nothing to do with the point am making. . .Okay, given the fact that you are referring only to a particular religious construct of God, I withdraw my statement and seek forgiveness for being for rude. |
wiegraf: Erm, you're talking about egos?I only see this as cowardice. The questions are simple and very short. Do you fear perhaps that answering them will show up just how ridiculously untenable and thoughtless the materialist position is? Please just keep that ego to one side. Me sef, I no dey vex for small jibes, so get over that already and stop wasting your time in that regard. I am not here to score petty sucker points. So it irritates me when anyone takes my yaps seriously. If you will, be a man, and address yourself straight to my very simple and very short questions. |
wiegraf: they do not deny the existence of the abstract, yes? With this alone, I need hardly say anything. Any thinking person should recoil in embarrassment at this statement. |
^^^ Answer my questions above one by one and dont be distracted by your ego, my friend. |
^^^ I have my reasons. The point is about dogmatism and fanaticism. Even I would not claim that I have never heard a good atheistic argument. I wonder if he would say he has never heard a good theistic argument. I simply seek to find out exactly how fanatical the chap is. What about you, logicboy, can you take up the question? Have you ever heard what you consider to be a good theistic argument for the existence of God, or are there none, in your opinion. Thanks. |
wiegraf: Look up words like synergy along with eediocy.I verily believe that you are yet to sit down and have yourself a good think. Some of us were born, children of thought and thinking, and as such we see, you can take that to sound, if you please, as self congratulatory as you may wish. For if you have begun to think at all, when I say to you that the being does not consist of matter, that existence itself does not consist of matter alone, you would have averted your mind to such questions as - - Is a thought a physical material thing? - Are emotions physical material things? - Are ideas physical material things? - Are dreams physical material things? And at the existential level - - Is time a physical material thing? THEN - Do these things mentioned above exist or are they non-existent? If they are non-existent, then you will agree that your existence is a mirage. If they are existent, then you will agree that non material things exist. You see, ol boy, I can only smile at you and the likes of thehomer. I have millions of things to say to you both, but life is too hectic. Suffice to say, however, for now, that you are yet to be schooled in thought, in thinking. Now let me quickly save you the embarrassment you are about to fall into, by giving you a hint. Here is the hint: I did not ask if the things mentioned above are created by or spring from material things. I asked if they exist, and if they themselves are material things. |
wiegraf: That's my point, you're rather foolish.Doesn't matter, since we're just matter. |
Deep Sight: Thehomer and anyone else, including yourself sire, who believes that mindless matter purposelessly assembled human beings over time, is a prize winning eddiot and certainly no better than a goat or rooster in terms of brains or perception.I take this back: it is an insult to goats and roosters. |
wiegraf: One doesn't agree with you = eediocy? Do you know what eediocy means? You of course must be very very slow not to have realized a long time ago that it is nothing but ediocy not to agree with me. Agreeing with me is very smart: disagreeing is ediocy, becuase I am always right. Now, I am not being sarcastic: I mean it: I am always right. Disagree at peril of your own ediocy. Thehomer and anyone else, including yourself sire, who believes that mindless matter purposelessly assembled human beings over time, is a prize winning eddiot and certainly no better than a goat or rooster in terms of brains or perception. |
Uyi Iredia: Agreed. My point still stands.Indeed: particularly the point about undetectable things in the past: which may never be detected, but without which we would not exist. Thehomer's argument reads like saying evolution never happened until it was detected. |
mazaje: Nope it doesn't. . .Dark energy, dark matter and multiverses are NOT things that intereact with humans, they do not have a personal relatiionship with humans, do not answer their prayers, protect them or favor them over other humans. . .God is said to do all these things, if it is true then god must be detected in one way or the other by a neutral observer. . .actually the bible even talks about signs that will follow believers so that those that do not believe will see and believe. . .The fact that we do not see any of these claims or promises in reality and the with the fact that the christian god that is said to be detectable remains undetectable means he does not exist. . .Mind you when we talk about god, we are talking about god as advertised or presented by the christians not, the deist undetectable god people like anony are trying to sell here. . .The god as presented in the bible is NOT what anony or davidylan are trying to sell on this thread. . .Sorry sir Mazaje, but this is just arrant sttupidity. |
It is a waste of time discussing with people who do not know what they are. People who thnk that they were assembled by dead stones, purposelessly. A man could not be more dead than one who has such a belief. When I used the word 'corpse', it probably for this same reason was entirely lost on thehomer. I will chat about this one last time. In Plaetton's thread on consciousness, or in a new thread. When I am done, I will NEVER discuss this ediocy again. |
Please, in the name of God, make your cover letter just a few lines and attach your CV and allow it to speak for itself. All that up there only looks unduly self congratulatory and may bore the prospective employer. Good luck! |
Can you please let us know of any right or good arguments (in favour of the existence of God) that theists (on this forum and elsewhere) have ever made to you? If there are none, please say so. Thank you. Oya. |
Kay 17: @anonyAnd in the case of the universe, only one with a bird's eye view of it would see the super-structure as it really is and really moves. People inside it can only see small bits of movement, which of course, some may conclude appears chaotic to them. |
thehomer: You don't consist of matter? That's interesting.Of course not. Most integral to what I am are my thoughts. Thoughts are not matter, are they now? Not just time.Waxing taciturn are we now? What else is required. Is everything that exists not physical, according to you? So matter it is, whichever way you spin it. You see, you suddenly see how sil.ly it appears to advance such a position! Hmm I would be indeed. Maybe you can get the corpse a bit part in a movie.O, send your address, i will be glad to help. Then your comparison is inappropriate. On the contrary, it is most appropriate; for if you will not accept that houses could "just exist", then the greater, grander, more complex, more amazing universe, containing greater intricacy and oddities such as you, logically is far less likely to "just exist." |
