Hi all!
Is it compulsory to attach a court marriage certificate to spouse visa application? Also how long after a court marriage can one submit their application?
I and my husband just got married a month ago(church and trad) and we were unable to do court marriage before he went back to UK for work. Now he wants to come in just so we can do the court marriage and then I can apply for the visa immediately after.
Also, I am presently in the UK and would be applying for my visa from abuja. Should I just leave all my documents with my husband instead of taking them back? And will they accept a TB certificate done here in UK?

Best do it in Nigeria, someone commented on another thread that a friend was denied a tier 2 visa cause did the TB in the UK just yesterday.

Finally got my COS yesterday. Expected to resume June 4. Funny thing is COS had been issued to my employer since February and I was initially scheduled to resume May 14 but one oyibo woman forgot to issue it to me until I called to ask if I should start looking for another job (didn't use those same words sha)
Good thing is now I can start work on my visa.
Abeg I will be counting on the experienced guys in the house, I've not done this before. So expect some very dumb questions from me in the coming days, when you see them don't vex for me just know say I be JJC. You can yab me small I don't mind as long as you show me road, but only small yab oh.
On a serious note I will be counting on your guidance through this, don't want to make any errors. The General UK thread is full of visitors, if u ask any JJC question somebody will tell you to go and read the thread from page 1 like say I de prepare for jamb.

What is my budget?

How much internet speed will I require?
Will I be doing a lot of heavy usage i.e. steaming, downloading, etc?
How many people will be using the internet at the same time?
The higher the speed t more you pay, you need to determine what will be adequate for your house hold. But If have plenty money you can go for the highest speeds.

How much TV will I be watching?
Doesn't make sense having all t TV bundles when you don't have time to watch TV or add sports for s providers when you don't watch sports unless your budget is unlimited. And there is Freeview, all t just need is a antenna a a Freeview enabled TV, usually modern TVs, and a Freeview box if you want to record programs. Usually a lot of the stations o the regular bundles that you will pay for in sky, BT etc are on Freeview. And then there in nowtv, pay and watch on demand.

Look for someone in the abroad who wants money in Naira in Nigerian bank and make a deal, he\she pay your fees and you send the Naira to his\her Nigeria account.

I did exactly this same thing for my first application but that was in 2016. I don’t know when you did or made your application but my brother is telling me that the CBN has changed it’s policy regarding paying for application online with naira debit cards. He said they will only allow Dollior or pounds domiciliary account now. Anyone know of a better way to go about the application and IHs payment. Please help me people. Especially people who made their applications recently. Thanks all.

please another question my wife is here on vacation and we have to send all the documents am planning to send the document tomorrow since everything is ready but my challenge now is the self address envelope since she has two weeks to spend with me here i dont know how to do that as we are planning sending all document directly from here tomorrow but how do i go about the self address stamp envelop.please its urgent

Send the documents to someone she trusts in the UK giving instructions to send the addressed envelope. With the other documents

Send the documents and when she gets back send the envelope with a letter stating you forgot to add the envelope and give your application number. Downside of this option is the entire might not get to where it supposed to go and you may have to make several calls and there might be a delay in getting your documents back.

payment made for IHS surcharge and Application paid 876 dollars for IHS and 2053 dollars for appilication fee is there any other to pay am i also paying at the TLS contact centre my tls contact for appointment is Ikeja.what will be required there.
after completion of the application it took my back to the application page to register for a at a tls contact what does that mean? and do i have to pay also again at the centre

you are not required to pay at the center, but if you are paying for priority you will have to do this on the tls website. Recent graduates confirm

My dilemma now is if I should apply for a tier 2 dependant visa when I get my passport back or wait for my husband to get his indefinite leave to remain (this is his 11th year in the UK and he has booked his appointment for March to get indefinite leave to remain). Then I can apply for a settlement wife visa with his indefinite leave to remain.
Please what do you think is the safer option time and money wise because my husband's bank balance has been up and down the past month and can't show the money required for tier 2 dependant visa.

I could be wrong but if you are using the card from Nigeria might not work, because of the ip address you will be using to pay, the bank might think it's fraud if your wife did not inform them she will be traveling so transaction might not go through

Can't believe I watched the above video to the end, valid points made though. If you are applying for the first time, make consultations o, all questions are relevant, the application money no be small money and these people are looking to take as much from you as possible, milking the cash cow as our in-house oga will say. Won't be surprised if there are plans to increase fees again with the hit they are projecting the economy will take due to brexit.

For my people already past first stage will suggest putting aside something maybe<<#50 a month, depending on your income, so when the time to apply for FLR, your finances won't take a big hit, another option is the credit card but all in all we will pay sha.

for the guys concerned about proof of relationship and pictures, sometimes not about number but quality. they know we are africans/nigerians and are big on traditional wedding, this one is probably the hardest to fake, get pictures from your trad, you dobaleing for your families, she kneeling down before your parents, the one you take with the parents etc. the one you gbe the iyawo literarily.

photos signing the marriage registry, kneeling before the priest/pastor, if you had a weddinig reception, some from there.

if you have travelled together for honeymoon, copies of visa stamp and tickets a few pictures from there too.

True not necessary like oga lexus said i wanted to change my maiden name to my hubby name when they told me the long process it might take up to almost 3months and I have to go to abuja to do biometric I just left it you wrote you want to apply month end its fine .

In ur application just write that when you get to the uk you will do a change of passport since the process is long in nigeria that will take time that was what I wrote

not necessary, i (husband) applied with my wife still using her maiden name, wife still uses maiden name on all official documents. dont worry yourself about name change. As long as names are correct on marriage certificates etc. who name change 'epp?
