None that I can think of. Do you think that can pose as a risk?
Council tax, voters register, utility bills, bank account/card statements anything that attaches you to the property other than my mother's house. If there is a search, anything to link you to the property?

@lexusg430 @justwise @tosine and the house, i was told that proof of money transfer (as show of support ) from Sponsor to Applicant will be viewed as non genuine relationship, especially if the said sum is a large sum or if sent monthly. please would like to know your opinion. thanks
If you are doing a cover letter you can explain the reason for the transfer especially since it is from the sponsor to the applicant not vice versa (could be seen as arranged),i believe it will even support your proof of relationship.

i know an applicant who sent substantial amount of money to the sponsor to support as part of deposit to buy a house, they explained it in the application and even put proof of emails with estate agents, mortgage promise from bank, etc. He got the visa.

I believe it can help your application, just add EVIDENCE....

I'm sorry, I beg to disagree. I came here to be pointed at a real life situation in this forum not speculations. Thank you all for taking time to reply, but I am certain there is a way.
Your savings determine what you need to earn to meet financial requirements. The only other way probably if the sponsor has some passive income in the UK that earns him a lot without work, you know that will require some massive investment but how many people have this.

These are people's reality. We don't keep records of real life situations (not our jobs)but having passed through the process with help from this forum and interaction with other people and in the news we make contributions to try to assist others.

Like Lexus said when you find a way update the forum.

Sorry, so you mean a British citizen working overseas cannot relocate himself and his family to the Uk?
A British citizen working overseas can relocate his/her non-EU family to the UK immediately if he/she has the sixty-something thousand pounds in his/her account to use as financial requirement or else, he/she will leave his/her family wherever they are, come back to the UK, get a job that pays greater than or equal to 18,600 (for spouse only) and then apply after 6 months for the family to come over.

its absurd, but that is the way it is. Lexusgs430 pls confirm.

Listened to LBS last week when the Supreme court made a decision to uphold the #18,600 financial requirements. People called in to say their experiences, even original BRITICOCO whohave been without their families for up to two years because of this financial requirement wahala

Sorry pls what do u mean other related matter and tax evasion now am scared
No need to be scared, the UK has anti money laundering regulations and they might want to know the main source of the money wether sale of an asset, inheritance, etc to make sure the money was gotten legally.

Their is a provision in the legislation allowing about £63,000 in savings can be used.
But I do not think anyone on this forum as been in a privileged position to tender the savings required.
Count yourself lucky in a privileged & fortunate position, put the application through and update us how it goes.
Goodluck

After reaching day 60 and basically having a fit. I was informed I did not pay return fee for my passport via Dhl ( which I did). My lawyers were told we have to make an additional payment. Right before we were going to pay again ( I didn't care I just wanted my passport) we receive within minutes of each other. The decision made email and the dispatch email. I assume it was a case of misadministration. So probably Monday I will know visa status. Thanks guys for helping keep me pseudo sane. Prayers up blessings down.

Thank you so much for your help. I will make sure I put everything necessary this time around as you've said. I didn't know to appeal takes that long. And considering the BREXIT and all. Do you think going for an appeal will be the best or putting in another application. The application is free for an eea family member and it won't cost my anything. Thanks
What are you waiting forhuh?

Reason why some people voted brexit, costs British citizens £2000 to bring spouses over

You can apply for a visiting visa, but consider all the requirements for application (if you can fulfill them). Take the gamble.... ...... ..
Subomi2,

if you are going to apply for a visiting visa, i assume your husband will be the sponsor, you might have to prove that you will come back or not overstay or breech the conditions of your visa because they will be expecting a spouse visa application from you since your husband is the sponsor.

Abi oga lexus...?

What I do, I never link my savings account to my ATM card. Transfer the money from savings to current account qny time i need money from the ATM, better security. Banks try to sell me mobile banking etc, when i start asking them about security and insurance of funds in the acct in case anybody gets access to my phone or cards, the only answer they give is keep your phones and card well. Not good enough for me.

Hello squad,

I have been frantically reading through these pages for the last few days. It's crazy what you guys are doing here and commend the time and effort you put in even with the repetitive questions. I started reading from 2014 if I am being honest and gained so much through the pages.

Cliché thing to say but I wish I found this page earlier.

Origin story...

March 2013 I'm British and met my African Queen in NYSC camp Oyo state.
We started dating a few months after
Sept 2014 Unofficially proposed (without ring)
Sept 2014 Returned to the UK
April 2016 Officially proposed (with ring)
April 2016 Registry wedding in Nigeria
Oct 2016 Applied for settlement visa (Non priority) with a lawyer
28 Oct Biometrics done in Ikeja
1 Nov 2016 Email from UKIV application has been received in Sheffield
Waiting game now…

Just got back from Nigeria for traditional and church wedding. The guy at biometrics told my wife 2 weeks. We were so excited until we realised he was wrong. I think he thought it was visiting visa.

Our application is pretty straight forward but my only fear is lack of communication and pictures through changing phones and the fact that we had no idea that we would actually need all this information. We have a lot of communication from 2016 but little from 2013 onwards but lawyer put that in cover letter.

Other than that I don’t have any questions but just want an outlet to vent my frustration and angst. I can cope with the waiting to an extent but thinking of my wife there is what makes it worse.

Will keep reading and updating.

Please can anyone that did the visa in the last few months put their timelines on as there is a lack of timelines in the group to encourage us.
may the force be with you. you can follow link belowfor some timeline

How long does it normally take?

Hey Guys, I have this little issue; I submitted my application and sent the sent the following supporting documents to the UKVI from Nigeria but without my wife's (sponsor) P60. But my wife sent the P60 with a returning self addressed envelope to the UKVI on he same day i sent the documents from Nigeria. The home office sent me an email that they have received my package but without a returning envelope. I have been waiting to receive another email confirming the receipt of the P60 and returning envelope but to no avail. I have contacted the home office but customer service agent said they don't have the privilege to check visa status or to confirm if a posted material has arrived. Instead I should contact my mail company. My wife have contacted them and they confirm to have sent it . Please what should I do?
