Monmarri: I am the sponsor and this is what they asked in the application for the section of spouse. The applicant( partner) have a valid passport
Find attached Chief, at this point it's up to you. Is a valid passport required for application? They will give you options based on your response. If it is required, you will get an automatic rejection which will mean the home office gets an easy £2600 or how much is the application fee right now. You are probably getting no replies because no one has experience applying without a valid passport. |

deebaby05: I thought you need to do the B1 for ILR. Is the Life in the UK test not for Naturalisation and citizenship application? Which i learnt you can do that anytime b4 the Naturalisation application because it doesn't have an expiry date. From my findings, you need B1 for ILR application and Life in the UK for naturalisation/citizenship application.
Pls enlighten me, can you use the Life in the UK test for both ILR and naturalisation? If yes, then that's good, not that one will do B1 and then do Life in the Uk test again, all these tests sef. you need the life in the UK test to apply for both the ILR and naturalization. But if you do it once, it will cover for both since i does not expire You need to prove your english proficiency for all applications, don't know which english proficiency test you need to do because i never used test but it is required at all stages. i used Naric for spouse and FLR (same one) and i plan to use it for my ILR in next year, na application money i dey try gather now. Donations are welcome |

I applied Aug 4th and haven’t heard from them, if you have no immediate use for a renewed passport, just be patient. Can someone travel with an expired passport? You will need an emergency travel certificate to travel with an expired passport and you will need to get that at the Embassy. Correct me if in wrong. |

EmmyKing86: Good morning everyone.
Trust all is keeping safe.
Still about passport renewal at the Nigerian High Commission London. I applied for passport renewal on the 24th of August. On one hand, information on the website says backlog of applications fron March to August will be dealt with. While on the other hand, renewal will be strictly on appointment.
Since my application (and payment), I have not gotten any appointment date via text or email as promised on the website and I am thinking on going to London next week since covid cases have started to increase and want to avoid any possible lockdown situation.
Please, I want to know if anyone is in the same predicament or have recently collected a new passport.
Kind Regards. They will not allow you entry into the high commission so do not go unless you receive email for appointment or you know somebody. |

Aphrodite007: @lamakinde hope you’re ok. Wanted to confirm something. Who is meant to show bank statements and salary threshold of more than £19k, me (the applicant) or my husband (the sponsor).
I’m confused because when I did my first application, it was my sponsor that had to prove affordability. He submitted his payslips and bank statement. But now, what I’ve read so far, it’s me (the applicant) that has to show this. I’m worried cos I stopped working during the pandemic but he worked all through, so he is in the best position to show affordability. For income it can be either your sponsor's income, your income or a combined income |

fatima04: Ohh, we were told 28days, then exchange must happen and if not they can pull back the property. We are being offered £10k for key worker discount sha. I am sure they have worked all that out into the pricing . No company is that nice.
Been reading a lot of snag issues with new builds from even top builders, and it seems they are all the same set of people over the country thats the bait, the 10k discount.... it could work out but nobody knowabout the economy and house prices. They are just trying to protect themselves. you can ask for more discount. if they want exchange of contract 28 days after reserving. One thing i've learnt in this UK is if you don't ask you don't get. |

[quote author=fatima04 post=93788905]My country people, how una dey. I have got some questions oo on Help to buy for First timers. I know we have discussed a lot about buying a house and process but wants to start planning about it seriously, and couldn't find answers from previous posts. 1. Is the Help to buy equity loan really worth it, since you have to pay back after a while and the govt indirectly owns a part of your home? 2. Any experiences with new build developers? Recommendations? Lots of them have got bad reviews on Trust pilot 3. Should you trust a solicitor or mortgage adviser recommended by the developers? 4. For new build, at what point are you expected to pay your deposit? If the building will be ready Feb 2021 and stated you exchange contract within 28days of reserving. 5. Any experience for Tier 2 visa using HTB equity loan? 6. What sort of drilling to expect on your outgoings and incoming? Is it EFCC bad 7. Any other advise on what to look out for. Please help [/quot Htb: Advs: 5% deposit, helps you get on housing ladder, no payment to govt for first 5 years so you pay mortgage on 55% or 75% to your lender depending on govt 40% or 20% equity so some savings within the period. Disadv: you cannot own another ppty, govt owns equity so if you sell they take percentage of profit based on their equity ( but hey they helped you buy), new builds only, the quality of some new builds questionable, new builds prices are inflated You are not required to exchange contracts at the point of reserving but if that is a condition for them to reserve for you I don't know if there is a law against it., I think they are just trying to Hegde against a fall in the house prices due to uncertainty in the economy and predicted drop in house prices when govt stops giving people free money. If you exchange contracts there is no going back on price agreed even if house prices drop. Not compulsory to use solicitors or mortgage brokers recommended by the developers, it just makes the whole process easier and faster than using others since they already have info about the development. |

deji2017: Situation: Proof of joint address to renew a spouse visa.
Background FLR spouse visa renewal next year
Assessment: Please tell me if I have more than enough proof of joint address. I have got council tax, joint bank account and tenancy agreement. I dont know what else I can sign up for to get joint address.
Thanks You must provide at least 6 items of correspondence, addressed to you and your partner jointly or in both your names. The dates of the items of correspondence should be spread evenly over the whole 2 years. They should be from at least 3 different sources. If you do not have enough items in your joint names, you may also provide items addressed to each of you individually if they show the same address for both of you. For example - 4 items of correspondence in joint names to the same address and 2 items addressed to each partner at the address. In total 8 items would need to be submitted. If you and your partner have no bills or correspondence in joint names, you will need to submit 12 items (6 each) of correspondence evidencing that you reside together at the same address. |

Kindly share . I want to encourage a sister who is still waiting 4 four years to join her hubby. Meanwhile she surpose to join him this year but covid 19 av really affected things. What is the husband's status in the UK? If he has all the requirements, there is no reason why he can't bring in his wife unless he doesn't want to |

Try open a joint account with someone who has a good credit history in a bank where he/she holds a credit card. Then apply for a credit card from that bank.

Dexter07: Top of the day Friends, URGENT ADVICE NEEDED PLS
I have just done an online application to the Nigerian high commision for renewal of my passport. I saw one is no longer allowed to book appointments but advised to strictly attend the date provided on the payment receipt
I applied on 14th June and was given a date on the 22nd June. I have never been there before, Moreso I am not familiar with London.
Can one call them to defer this date? What is the most convenient way to travel to london from West midlands ..Train or drive ?, I would actually prefer driving because of the COVID pandemic but I have heard a lot about driving in London, What about car park? What time is best to arrive at the embassy?
Thanks Hi Dexter07, is the high comission open for passpprt services. I need to renew mine urgently also for wrk. Thanks |
