Ok bourne this one, I won’t agree with you. I think this is the only lie that I can agree with, provided the MIL won’t spend more than 6 months here.

The African culture is different from the brits because some people need mums around when they have a child- the brits don’t understand this, so put two weeks down but let her accidentally stay 4-5 months

I understand this lie.
They consider that work because you can hire someone to come and support the new mother and you are depriving that person of work even if you are not paying your mum. Don't ever give them the impression that the mum is coming to support

My MIL visited so many times.....

She did not submit any bank statement, land documentations or any form of financial documents......

All documents came from both of us, and it was implicitly stated in the invitation letter that, all her expenses, accommodation and feeding would be bourne (pun intended), by us.... grin

On all occasions, she stayed for 5 months +..........
I did same but it was refused
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by deept(m): 9:17pm On Mar 10, 2021
Depends on who the case worker is. If you put 5 months the way some of them think, who habits someone for 5 months all expenses paid, they might think your mil is going to work so will refuse the visa unless you can prove that she has a lot of money or some income.
Foreign AffairsRe: Buckingham Palace's Statement On Harry, Meghan Interview by deept(m): 3:25am On Mar 10, 2021
It was never going to work ultra woke meets ultra Conservative, something was going to give. Hollywood my way or you are out the door meets structured traditional scripted way of life.

Bullying allegations I believe was both ways, she will try to get her way which is not the way the royals do things and she will not get it because the staff have a script to work with and this will ultimately frustrate her. In America she will have fired them but it would not have been possible because they are only doing what they are supposed to do. Maybe she thought princesses always gets their way in fairy tales but not in reality. Someone said the royal family is bigger than eliza, Harry, Charles all of them, it is an institution and will not change overnight.

William probably foresaw this wahala thats why he asked his brother whether he was sure he wanted to marry Megan which bright a rift between the two.

The best they could have done is leave the royal family but they should not leave their family. Also they should not expect the benefits without the responsibility.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria’s Foreign Trade Jumps To N9.12 Trillion In Fourth Quarter Of 2020 by deept(m): 5:25pm On Mar 09, 2021
Coldie:
If foreign trade has increased why then are them complaining about dollar scarcity I don't understand
There is a NGN2.73 trillion deficit meaning what we import is 2.73 trillion naira more than we export. That is extra 2.73 trillion naira we potentially need to change to dollars to be able to buy goods from abroad and since dollars is mostly used in international trade, Nigeria needs to source approximately 5 billion USD. And since we cannot print usd, we need to source it from somewhere: borrow or foreign reserves which have their implications.

The available usd is not available to go round and so this is where demand and supply comes to play. Those who have dollars will sell to the highest bidder therefore price of dollars go up.

If we exported more than we import, there will be excess dollars in the market and supply will outweigh demand and what will happen, prices will drop.

So what we need to do is produce more and import less

First sensible move by Biden.
He wanted to go diplomatic, I believe he was strongly advised against it that it will make America look weak, though I read somewhere that no one died in the attack on the US base. That was Iran testing the new US administration. Did they try that after trump killed their tip general a couple of years ago.

Plus it would have been political suicide for him and possibly the Democrats if he didn't strike back.

I however don’t think they can apply to naturalise until after 6 months of getting ILR.

But let the veterans answer, I’m guessing.
you can apply for naturalisation immediately after obtaining the ILR on a spouse visa route.

How do I scale through this when registering on T212 please?
Go to your bank, take your marriage certificate, I'd and do a change of name on your account to your marital name.

So much inconsistencies with this covid certificate........
I think it's the NHS trying to discourage people who need test to travel from using NHS testing facilities with the number of cases going up and limited test kit. They would rather people who are showing symptoms and key workers NHS.

I won't be surprised if it's the government asking airlines to reject NHS test results for use for flying.

Well, my position is based on my experience with this set of people both at home and at the work place.

Just last week over 10 of them were dismissed at my place of work based on similar tendencies of fraud, trying to game the system.

I have an official mail to that effect. I do not mean to offend anyone by my comments, but just to stress the point of being vigilant with them.

Have a nice day ahead everyone. Cheers
But if a security guard follows you in a store, that is racism?

Abeg people should be judged based on their merits. You should be vigilant if you see what a, b, c and d did in the office you should be careful with them and not take it out on X, y, z because they are all letters of the alphabets.

That is why I don't like to involve myself in all this racial talk. If a whiye security guard follows you (I don't mean you) and he says because they caught black shoplifters, won't we cry racism. Abeg double standards.

E get another name them dey call am: racial profiling equally as bad

People, can you please create another thread on whether Nigeria is worthless or not. You will not convinced the other person on your thoughts.

A things worth is based on the value to place on it. For thishrguy Nigeria is worthless, for some of us it still has some worth and hopefully things change. We only appeal to those with the opinion that the country is worthless to please help us not continue to bring Nigeria down for those of us who still hope not to even drag her down the more by posting these narratives on socialedia we don't know who is reading and the more damage it might cause.

In other news cold is catching in the Aberdeen, what do you guys do to keep warm? Childcare is expensive.

For the guy looking for Nigeria food, go and marry. Quickly signs out and deactivates account before our strong women come after me.

You can’t do business in an environment that doesn’t enable you to do business. The Nigerian govt makes it extremely hard to do legit business. Too hard. It’s unfair to collect order for hair from 10 of your clients at 20000 each, only to find out that the exchange rate has gone up, what do you do? Do you ask them for more money or run at a loss?

Then there’s the one where you want to go to your farm in Kaduna to check your fish, and that’s how men will kidnap you and ask for 10M to release you.

Wait is it the one that after buying land in Abuja from the FHA o, you will now hear that someone else owns the land and then you spend the next 5 years in court.

My friend started an agric business, that’s how his boys packed all his chickens and eggs one weekend. My uncle got a fish farm, that’s how one day he started complaining that fish feed had gotten too expensive and closed the business. My best-friends hair business, na fight I carry myself go fight for her money from all the people owing her— babe like me, chai! Right now she’s packing up that she no sell again.

You say one could give loans to akara sellers? Them never carry your money run before, change name on top- how do you want to track them?

Nigeria has harsh business policies and poor security.

If you’ve been lucky that you have family you trust or probably strong connect in government to protect you, mate, congrats but don’t mislead people ok.

The chances of succeeding (not sustaining/not managing, I mean succeeding) in business in Nigeria is 3:10. And that’s if you’re ready to keep some authorities in your pocket.

P.S: I’m a business analyst. Nigeria is the only place that I’ve done PESTLE on and written “by God’s grace” as my recommendation.

@erico2k2 this message is for you too.
there is someone owing me money too o. how much for your services? we will share the money 50-50. No win no fee

See what I found:

A migrant applying for indefinite leave to remain in the UK must pay £2,389. The cost to the Home Office of processing an ILR application is £243 — so the fee is set at ten times higher than the actual administrative cost. A Tier 2 work visa for someone working in a “shortage occupation”, where the UK is desperate for workers, has an administrative cost of £127 but is charged at up to £928.

https://www.freemovement.org.uk/immigration-nationality-application-fees-2020-21/#:~:text=A%20migrant%20applying%20for%20indefinite,than%20the%20actual%20administrative%20cost.
