erico2k2:

can you highlight where the publication stated Jonathan promised to solve the power problem in Nigeria as you are quoting?Comprehension seems to be a big issue here or should I say understanding?

My friend i know you are Harvard abi Oxford trained English boy....I am not making reference to GEJ`s statement on the article " That he has fulfilled his promise on power by paying attention to it" rather my concern is his electoral promise to Nigerians of stable and uninterrupted power supply.. Is that the promise that he has fulfilled? This is the same man that promised the Governors not to run for a second term if given the mandate and turned around to lie.

Can`t you comprehend that this man called Dr. GEJ is a liar? Please don`t quote me again, i don`t have time retards.

It is said that Nigerians don't read. The posts am seeing in this thread justifies that. How long will it take to read the story as published?

Meanwhile he is correct. He promised to give power attention and he did. Never said he delivered 100% power 24/7.

Pls stop portraying Nigerians as lazy or half illiterate people.

Bros, relax Nigerians knows how to read and they know when you are lying to them.. Please GEJ`s promise was not to give power attention but to give us stable and uninterrupted power supply. See don`t be fooled by this politicians oooo.

This Man called GEJ self, him case don tire me seriously.
It is ok he said he has fulfilled his promise on power, it is left for the electorate to decide if the current power situation is good for them or bad.
I am no longer disturbing myself about GEJ i am just waiting for March 28th to decide.

Very interesting. I'm following.

Have you started teaching him basic commands?

No i have not started teaching him because of his poor appetite, i don`t want to add more issues to it.. However, i am so happy he is adapting and eating fine, i mixed K9 Can food for Puppy with his Royal Canine, wow! come and see how Cooper bounced on the food; for the first time he finished a big bowl and was sniffing for more.

I will probably start the obedience class for him by March,Cooper really needs to learn the command "Stop" otherwise he will be a time bomb. I got a collar belt for him today, i think he looks handsome on it, will upload his pics tomorrow.

Thanks for following the thread.

Sorry to ask... Is this ur first dog?

No Cooper is not my first dog. You really have to see Cooper to love him..., i had two dogs before a Boerboel and Rottweiler, they were massive and voracious but gave them up when i was leaving the country. It`s almost 4yrs i came back but refused to get another one because i don`t really have time. I am much more relaxed now and brought Cooper into my life, he deserves all the attention and care and besides i want him to be a great companion and not just a compound dog, so the great socialization.

Why the Rottweiler dots on his fore head? Just asking...
Pets / Re: Diary of my Dog Cooper. by deeptesting(m): 8:01pm On Feb 18, 2015
Yes, after much research i was able to get Cooper eat his royal canine to my satisfaction. I cannot say the method is perfect until repeated trial works out the expected result. What I did was to have a schedule for his exercise, water and food.. I placed his food for him at the schedule time and he has 15mins to finish the business. He ate a little and once the 15mins is up I took the food away & water.

4hrs after was the next schedule and I brought his good & water he ate more compared to his first meal, 15 mins up I took the food away and the water, followed in another 4hrs and he ate more, he kept improving eating more portion and drinking lots of water. Cooper is just a Puppy and should not be expected to eat much at an interval, like. Little baby's little portions at intervals works for him.

Also, because I was concerned about his eating habit I will always leave little portion of food down for him which leads to "snacking" and does not allow him to concentrate on a regular schedule meal. I hope to try this out tomorrow and see how it works. Meanwhile his last meal/water comes by 6pm and last water for the day by 7.30pm.
Pets / Re: Raw Meat Or Cooked Meat? by deeptesting(m): 2:49pm On Feb 18, 2015
Seun:
If you can't vouch for the quality of the meat, cook it. The nutrient loss is minimal. If you don't have much time, cook it in a microwave oven.

Raw frozen chicken is safer because it has already been frozen, which would have killed most of the parasites in it. The same applies to fish.

I think feeding raw meat is a good idea as it is close to what they eat in the wild before they were domesticated by man. I have done a little research on this topic and discovered there a lot of health benefits feeding your dog with raw meat.. However, i am very much concerned with the kind of meat be it chicken or beef you feed your dog. The proponents of this school of thought are from the West where everyone adheres to an ethical standard.

I have seen most people who claim to feed their dogs raw meats but only buy stale meats or chickens that have been confirmed as non-edible to humans due to its poor storage or failure to pass the import standard. In other words they feed their dogs with contaminated or infected meat especially the unscrupulous breeders. Secondly, the frozen chicken is also a big source of worry to me concerning the preservatives that were used to preserve it from wherever it is coming from up until it gets to Nigeria, it will only be reasonable to cook such meat/chicken before eating than eating it raw.

I am of the school of thought that if you want to feed raw then you should feed your dog with healthy chicken or meat otherwise it should be cooked. I love dogs and treat them like humans and not like something that is meant to live on trash.

Give him raw meat .

My wife tried raw chicken and it was disastrous, so i am a bit scared trying anything raw for now.. May be will try when he becomes an adult but not as a Puppy.

Good morning, Cooper is fine today.. Still having issues with his eating habit, he is very picky, eats a little and walks away. He is not loosing weight neither is he adding weight..I think i have to get a scale to check his weight on a daily basis to get his full weight details. I am still looking for a path to improve his eating habit, have done a lot of reading online and i think I have to worry less since he is not completely avoiding food but i have to ascertain the effect on his weight and health.

He is very active and agile which brings more confusion to my head, he eats little but has so much energy. I will be glad to get more suggestions here.

When you are playing tug with him, make sure his paws touch you before letting him win, draw him closer if you need to because you are teaching him how to fight.

Thanks..

The first time I gave my pups chicken neck, the guys swallowed it without chewing and I was a bit scared but they were just fine and digested it well. Don't give your dog any boiled bones either fish or chicken. As for royal canine I think it's the best out there for kibble feeders. Please be careful with the little guy because he is my favorite on here.

Thanks Olu.

g!ve your dog/puppy a whole healthy diet nd he wuld be doing just fine and fit, if i where to give my puppies fish,i'l rather boil it nd sprinkle it on their feed nd they wuld be no complications.

Please can you share the whole healthy diet that you give your dog? Thanks.
Meanwhile, Cooper will not eat fish, boiled, fried, cooked or roasted and now he does not eat chicken too even it is fried or boiled. The Royal Canine for GSD and beef is just his favorite.

Wow, that's scary. I'm glad that he's recovering. It's not so bad to give puppies chicken bones, but you should start with very small bones and watch the puppy carefully to see whether he is chewing the bones well, and also watch the poop to see whether he's digesting them well. I once made a mistake of giving my dog a whole catfish from the supermarket. He could not digest the cartilage in the head of the fish and started pooping blood. Eventually he pooped the undigested head of the fish & I learned my lesson. If he was a pup, he would probably have died.

Honestly, its scary.
I have been by his side all day given him all the care he needs and this evening he is back running around.. I have been pleading with him to slow down but Cooper wants me to believe he is in form.

Hey! Sorry i have not been able to update the thread with Coopers development for a few days now. Cooper has been finding it difficult to eat any of the food i provided for him..He became weak as he only drinks water with glucose, i just got royal canine for GSD for him yesterday and beef meat which he is eating now.

My little Daughter fed him with cooked chicken that has bones in my absences while my wife fed him raw chicken..Wow! Nice people, Cooper got a lot of companions but Alas! He started stooling blood and purging as well.

He was given an antibiotics and today he showed great signs of recovery, though he is still not the usual Cooper. He is doing fine now and i hope in few days will be back in our garden to catch some fun.

Well I have seen a lot of vaccinated dogs/pups die recently because if the outbreak of the so call parvovirus. My question is why are they dying, even when they are vaccinated? Non of my dogs are vaccinated including the pups . A vet got a pup from me and he vaccinated his own pup and the dog was infected the following weeks while others are just doing fine. I don't want to discuss anything on here about that but I think your dog is already vaccinated and give him no more shot. You have my number you can call me for my method .

Thanks. I understand your concern, there could be a lot other factors that must have led to the death of the Pup these include the following but not the least: The Pup new environment, other pets within the environment, the health/hygiene standard of the new owner, the efficacy of the vaccine, don`t forget that most sellers of this vaccine are quacks that have no knowledge of it is storage and handling. As a result of poor Vet practices, unregulated vaccine market dominated by crude business men and women staying out of vaccination seems better at the short run.

Nonetheless, i am willing to learn from you, compare and contrast to build my knowledge.
I rescued a 2 months Puppy (Caucasian) from a friend, 3 months it came down with the Parvovirus, on investigation i learnt from the Vet that my friend skipped the vaccination,i almost gave up on the Pup because it was terrible but the Vet assured me that he will do his best to save her life,he swung into action with various vaccination and through this period the Pup was only taking glucose added to water.

The Pup is 6 months old today and in good health doing fine. I will surely call you.

Why is the vet coming?

Why do Vets visits? Sorry i have to use question to give u an answer..I read your submission where you were totally against vaccination. We may have some interactions on the subject matter to learn from each other.. What do u think? Cooper was properly vaccinated before it was shipped, its next vaccine date is March 2nd, the Vet is just visiting to give him a hand shake and introduce himself to him as his Doctor.

Thanks

Ensure you don`t kill that dog with insecticide or pesticide.. There are few things you have to contend with at the moment because it is still a Puppy. Meanwhile, GOOGLE is your friend just ask him/her. All what will be said will be a repetition of GOOGLE answers.. Good luck.
