This is what i am advocating in other threads... The fundamental and constitutional rights of every Nigerian must be guaranteed if we are to take this Government serious.

I am happy FG followed the line of honor in doing what is right.. Gone are the days you hound people into jail without trial. Now let the judicial proceedings begin and i hope Mr. Nnamdi Kalu will be reasonable enough to know how to go about his course within the boundaries of the constitution.

Politics / Re: Uwazuruike Disowns Nnamdi Kanu, Radio Biafra Boss by deeptesting(m): 6:07pm On Oct 19, 2015
It is a known fact that the long incarceration of Uwazuruike has affected his psyche and his continued silence in the face of the Biafran struggle indicates he has been compromised and now playing to the tunes of his creditors.

While, i am not in support of the IPOB youths, Radio Biafra, MASSOB or any entity that incites violence, hate or rivalry amongst different ethnic group, i must admit that i admire the courage of Nnamdi Kalu.. "ONLY COWARDS FEAR DEATH."

He will be remembered for taking his stand in what he believes which majority would have identified with him but for his poor approach to a good course.

I still insist that his continuous detention without trial is a violation of his fundamental and constitutional right and join voices with detribalize Nigerians urging the Federal Government to perfect their charges and bring him before a court of competent jurisdiction for a speedy trial and sentencing or simply let him off the hook.

Nigeria is not a Zoo, hence, all its Citizens fundamental and Constitutional rights must be guaranteed.

My guy, the news about Kanu's arrest has only been on the social media online, the Government has not come out officially to say that the guy has been arrested, Govt all over the world knows how to manoveur its own laws, anyone who accuses the Govt now will just get a response from an official that his arrest has not been confirmed and that they will inform the whole world when they confirm, they will buy time stylishly to investigate the guy thoroughly before charging him to court.

You are right Bro.
I am just angry at the attitude of some folks here calling for his death & indefinite detention without trial. I am very sure Nnamdi Kalu has a very clear understanding of the journey he has embarked on.

If you read this guy's posts on facebook with the way he incites his gullible followers against the present FG, you won't be saying this, may be you have forgotten pdp'sOlisa metuh's independence message to Nigerians, where he advised everyone to be careful about the way they address the President with unprintable names, I guess Oliseh metuh was advising kanu in a subtle way, he knew what was coming for the small boy who never witnessed the biafra war himself.

We are on the same page.. My point is keeping him in detention without trial is against his fundamental and constitutional right as a Nigerian. If the FG has a case against him they should perfect their charges and bring him before a court of competent jurisdiction for a speedy trial and sentencing.

Let us stop supporting the impunity of the Government in whatever disguise.

What is for certain is that the this mr kanu as made a terrible mistake in returning to Naija by listening to those voices in his head which by the way are definitely evil he will learn that wisdom is different from education, this is a downfall make no mistake about this, we will soon forget about him as he rots away in detention, if he thought he was going to be charged will a crime he is in for a shock, although now that he is in jail and most likely definitely 100% guaranteed to remain incarcerated until 2023 he is realising that his plan A is dead on arrival and if Apc wins again in 2023 mr kanu's problems will only grow worse.

I think your statement gives credence to the fact that Nigeria is a Zoo as been put forth by Mr. Nnamdi Kalu otherwise how can you be so proud of a system that will incarcerate a man indefinetly without trial?

It is a violation of his right and that's the point he wants to prove to the world. Only cowards fear death. I am not a Biafran and don't support the Biafrans either but the fundamental right of every Nigerian must be guaranteed if we truly want to be taken seriously in the comity of nations as humans and not truly animals in a Zoo.

Family / Re: The Sudden Uprise Of Baby Mamas In Nigeria by deeptesting(m): 2:16pm On Oct 14, 2015
ronald4lif:

No where in my post was I supporting or encouraging the practice of baby mamas. I was however, stressing on the need to be less judgmental, embrace individual choices and dismiss the popular conception that celebrities are the only ones who indulge in the practice.

And while agreeing with you that a man should perform marital rites and pay dowry of their women before procreating I disagree that a marriage must be only seen as complete after a church wedding or blessing from a pastor like you put it, has been conducted.

Just like I said in my previous comment, there have been marriages around the world and in Nigeria before religion was established in our country and unless you have any discountenance to prove those marriages weren't 'blessed' then parading it as factual is erroneous.

Everyone deserve the right to exercise their independent freedom of the type of wedding they desire, be it in a church, traditionally or a court setting, and for one not to perform a church wedding doesn't make their union less merited than others. P'square can have white wedding at their own convenience or decide never to, it doesn't demerit who they are and what they share with their respective wives.

I am just here to ask you to ignore that guy. Nigeria Christians read the entire Bible but never act like Christ. What is Pastors blessing? The question is what are the marital rites recognized by our constitution? I am a Christian but i really get pissed by over zealous and self righteous people. I have so much admiration for the current Pope not because he is infallible but his decision to remain less judgmental but like Christ shows love to those who does not even deserve it.
Culture / Re: Killers Of Python In Calabar: Handling Snake Is Our Culture; no charms or juju by deeptesting(m): 9:40pm On Sep 29, 2015
Fynestboi:
CALABAR— FOLLOWING the crossfire over the killing of a suspected 19-year-old python in the residence of the Senior Pastor of Mega Faith Christian Assembly, Calabar, Rev Tony Amba, reported in a past edition of Niger Delta Voice, head of the Hausa snake killers that got rid of the threatening python, Danzaria Rabiu, has disclosed how they killed the snake.

Rabiu, who spoke through an interpreter, during the week, told Niger Delta Voice that he and his colleagues were not snake charmers or hunters as described and did not use diabolical means to kill the snake.

He said they hail from a family in Zaria with innate abilities to handle snakes without harm. Rabiu stated that though he spoke about remains of lizards and dogs found in the ceiling, it was unconnected to the pastor’s apartment as the reference was to another incident. He said that his statement that the snake would have lived in the ceiling for about 10 years followed his knowledge of snakes and certain characteristics he observed.

“I dey praise Allah for the Pastor because e be like say the snake get mission for that place, but God dey with pastor well well, because me wey kill the snake believe say e get as e be. But I still thank Allah because na God know everything about the snake,” Rabiu said.

Another member of the group, Ibrahim Yusuf told Niger Delta Voice that the killing of the snake did not involve the use of any charm. But he would not blame people, who believe that they used charm due to the poisonous nature of snakes.

Pointing at his brother, Yusuf, who stood beside him, he said: “Even this my little brother as small as he is, if he crosses a snake or touches one, nothing will happen to him. It is just our culture and tradition; it is a gift from God not any charm at all.

“All my family members and some families from my place are gifted with this ability. Although I left my place after I finished secondary school, but I am still gifted with the ability. “We do not use charms and we did not use any charm to kill the snake at the pastor’s house.

It’s our way of life

“My brother’s explanation was not well understood. From the time we suck our mother’s breast, they give us “dowri” and it is not a charm it is just our culture,” Yusuf added.

Also speaking with Niger Delta Voice, a snake keeper, Mallam Idris Lawal stated: “Since I was born, I grew up to see my father keeping snakes without anything attached to it, you know we also have people like us in Cross River, especially in northern part of the state. but I will not blame anyone who believes that we use charm or diabolical means to keep them.”

If the snake is too violent, I just remove the teeth. I have been beaten many times but they cannot harm me because it is my culture and not charms at all. I do not know about other people, but most people from my axis like Yusuf and Rabiu do not use any black magic at all.”

Rev Amba, who spoke to Niger Delta Voice on the incident, said: “Everything that happened that day was nothing less than a miracle. Only God knows how long it has lived there. “But for me, my family and the ministry which he has given to me to oversee, it is a September to remember.”

"Life isn`t always the way it is suppose to be. It`s just the way it is. The way we cope with it is what makes the difference". I saw how she was beign bashed on her thread, i couldn`t comment because the attack and condemnation will totally bring her down if the story were to be true. I am one who believes in given people a second chance and believes everyone fails at something, some minor and some major.

Now, does getting pregnant mean the end of someone`s life? obviously, the answer is NO except for a lazy person who does not know her worth, one step towards her recovery is retracing her step where she got it wrong. At this point i will advice her to sincerely draw close to God, help will come her way, she must brace up for the challenges, many have gone through such predicament, the glamorous Genevieve of Nollywood has a daughter who most have never bordered to know who fathered her.... She should simply go back to her family and let them know she has failed them but need their support, i am sure one person will surely walk with her through this difficult period.

kandiikane:

Stupid comparison and stupid post that makes no bloody sense and more stupidity on top of that by writing in stupid bold letters. You have the right to sell the car, the moment you get it. It's a gift, no? Or you want people to know that you bought it?

Let me ask you something, if someone buys you perfume but you don't like the perfume, will you use it? The op said it's just a ring so what difference does it make. The yes is what matters, no? If you feel the ring matters, then you should make an effort to buy better ring for your girl so she can flaunt it around just the way you want her to.

In marriage appreciation for little things matters a lot. If the ring is what the Hubby to be can afford an understanding woman will value & flaunt it... The value is not in the worth or cost of the ring but in the humility of the man to choose her amongst all odds & other ladies he might have encountered.

She lacks the principles & values that will sustain the marriage and it is best to walk away from such a lady.

@OP the only problem i see with you is the fact that you went to school for the wrong reason & also passed through the school without the school passing through you. It is a pity many still have this mind set of yours, go to school get a good grade, graduate then you have a good job.

Those who went to school for the right reason & allowed the school to pass through them are found in every nook & cranny creating, innovating and the world is locating them.

I am not being judgmental but i am a realist may be you are an idealist, so don't pick offense. I pray a job comes your way soon. Lastly, the value of education is not measured in riches but on human development.

Family / Re: Family Section And The "Get Separated" Syndrome! by deeptesting(m): 11:21pm On Sep 08, 2015
@OP there are cases that requires separation, in actual sense separation is meant to help both cool off and have a rethink about their relationship, examine their behaviors and try to forge a way forward for true reconciliation. However, separation like divorce has it is own process and not just one party moving out of the home without a thorough discussion with the other party as to the time limit of the separation and reasons.

Separation in this part of the world is a dicey game for both partners considering the high rate of infidelity and indiscipline, this is the reason why it is often discouraged as separation could spell the end of the marriage. Up until we stop going into marriage for the wrong reasons, marital conflicts will continue to skyrocket and where it is necessary we will advice they separate to keep both parties sane and alive.

@OP get your wife involve in your family finance, the pay you earn is no longer yours alone it is for the entire family,if you live on budget i see no reason why you should go broke before the next pay day. Please sit with your wife draw up a family budget and immediately the pay comes in distribute it accordingly as stated in your budget. Raising a family requires a lot of financial discipline and sacrifice.

Don`t get upset with her nagging, she is passing a message to you but probably in the wrong manner and this is where maturity comes in, the way you both handle this minor issue will determine the stability of the home. Finance is one of the major issues listed for the break down of marriages, you have to be open and if the pay is not enough for you guys then she must look for something to do to support you.

I am not surprised that most here cannot comprehend the decision of the Prof. We are a generation that believes in riches (crap mentality). The Prof. generation believes in values & integrity except for a few that lost it.

Having read the entire article i could see a disciplined man who can hold his head up no matter the dust life throws at him, this is a great quality we should all desire to incorporate into our lives.

This is a man who will die with great reputation, satisfaction and value.. Believe me money cannot buy the value of what Prof. stands for; unfortunately, our society does not appreciate values but riches, hence, the vile & mediocre comments on this thread.

She was independent, disciplined, a good cook & was supportive. However, to stay in marriage goes beyond these factors. Her independence went over board & she eventually turned a feminist, fighting for equality and became so disrespectful like a loose bull.

I think you should spend more time working on yourself, believe me none of these factors in a woman can keep you in the marriage but your understanding & what you want out of life.

Please avoid a woman from a family that can't caution her or supports her even in her wrong doing because they claim to love her.

While i am against rape in all ramification, there is more to this case than the press have reported. Unfortunately, Nigerians are quick to judge & are arrogantly self righteous, it is our culture. I expect the lawyer at this point to have given a press statement on this issue.

While, in most cases silence is golden but in some it is an admittance of guilt especially in the minds of gullible hypocrites & Sadducees.

The matter is before a law court, let justice be expediently carried out.
