Coopers lounge has been fixed, he now has an entire room to himself.. What he loves most in his space is the tile that is cold saving him from the scorching heat..Wish we had constant power supply like our Oyinbo counterparts, sure an air condition will not be bad for Cooper's comfort.

kolokolobi:Thanks for the contribution. The problem on the pee is timing,i ensure i leave water for him when going out and so he cannot hold for too long till i return but for the Poo he is doing very fine.. I have also come to understand that dog`s also loves clean environment but like humans it all depends on how there brought up or trained... The Caucasian that is 7 months old will never Poo or Wee on her crate, she can take it straight 8hrs till you let her out to ease herself. When i have time to stay with Cooper all day like the weekend i will go with your suggestion. |
I couldn't take pictures today, hopefully will do tomorrow but this is how i potty train Cooper. Being a Puppy he cannot hold urine or poo for too long like an adult dog. So i make sure when i feed him in the morning i take him on a walk round the compound after 10mins or 20mins he will find a spot to poo then i will return him to his room. I ensure he takes his last meal before 6pm then i walk round for 20mins and he does his poo and we say good night, sweet dream to each other. I give him a lot of pet immediately he Poo's which he enjoys, now once i take him out after eating he wants to Poo to get his treat. Cooper has come to understand that he is not permitted to poo in his room. At the moment i cannot control his pee because he drinks a lot of water due to the dry food he is taking and urinates,he is still a Puppy, that is ok just a little job to mop the tiles. |
Cooper is doing fine, got a new space completed for him today, trying to potty train him so he does not have to mess the place up.. Update will come tomorrow. |
hormoryhemii:Thanks...I will check out for the Cod liver oil syrup next time i visit the dog shop. Cooper loves rolling on sand, you just can`t stop him, he wants to play, chase things around. You also have to be careful with bathing him regularly otherwise you loose the glossy skin,i am fixing a room up for him which i will update on this thread as soon as i am done. |
XBLadez:Thanks @XBladez for following the thread, i hope you continue to visit it when time permits you. I will continue to do an update as time permits. |
winner95:Thanks a lot. |
Wow! thanks to everyone and especially to those who moved Cooper`s dairy to the front page. Please bear with me i was not here to respond to comments but i am so so grateful and happy that i am not wasting time, effort and money on Cooper. I was with my Doctor today and was going back and forth from the hospital to Mecure at Oshodi for an x-ray. I have got to take care of myself to take care of Cooper. I will surely find time to respond to everyone as i continue to update the thread on Cooper`s development. If God permits me this thread will continue till Cooper gets to 2years, May God grant us good health and long life. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you all! |
kolokolobi:Thanks Cooper just started his obedience training,he is an intelligent dog it doesnt take much for him to understand a command and he is such a lovely companion who reads your body language and does not want to do anything to hurt your feelings. It took just 24hrs for him to understand that when i open a door i should be the first to walk out, most times he gets to the door before me but sits and wait for me to walk out, he also learnt how to sit and wait for me to drop his food without jumping or pacing around. Coopers loyalty has built my understanding why Dog trainers would say "never hit a dog". There is nothing you want them to learn or do that they cannot do all that is needed is patience on your part and consistency. Thanks a lot @kolokolobi. |
kolokolobi:I hope to see more of you on this thread and other dog lovers, i appreciate your contribution and will continue to learn and share my experience with Coopers... A big thank you to all who have stopped by to drop one or two contributions. |
kolokolobi:Noted... He was very jittery and will move around the back seat but Cooper understands when i say "shhhhhhhhhhhhh" it means i want him to be calm. I started using that sound very early because he is always excited on seeing me and will jump all over me staining my clothes and shoe. When he begins to pace up and down wanting to move from back seat to the front seat the sound "shhhhhhhhhhhh" comes handy telling him to be calm which he responds by either sitting down or suspending the activity he is engaged. Hope to share more experience as we continue our socialization class. |
lacicrips:Nice! I did not feed Cooper before the ride until we came back, then gave him water first to quench his thirst and then fed him later. Try it out and see. |
Cooper has to be socialize with everything that he will need to interact with in the future. Cooper got a ride around town.

iPopAlomo:Bro. Olu is very correct in his submission, all animals can live together irrespective of their temperament. First, where the problem lies is in obedience training and proper socialization. People just buy dogs in this part of the world, give them food in the morning, afternoon and night for the lucky ones, put them on leash or crate them and ensure they can bark else they are termed lazy dogs. If the OP should go through proper training as a dog handler or take her time to read and read to equip her self with the required knowledge she can actually help both of them to live together peacefully. It will be a long post, in fact a lecture to put the OP through on how to handle this situation. "There are no bad dogs but bad owners/handlers". |
Coopers food and drink bowl. The idea behind the pics is to encourage people to wash their dogs food and drink bowl at all times before serving them food or water. Please don`t use that condemn dirty plastic Mama Nkechi discarded, let`s show love and care to our best friends.

Olu how old is Kongo? |
Coopers tab. Pet Tabs Forte is a comprehensive nutritional supplement containing a complete spectrum of vitamins, minerals and protein to keep animals in peak condition. The tablets contains real liver and cheese. Cooper, initially did not accept it but he takes each tab daily without issues now.

lacicrips:Done..I hope this title fits in... Thanks a bunch Bro. |
lacicrips:I don`t know if i can change the title myself, sent a mail to the admin last week but got no feed back. |
oluomoadebayo:Olu thanks for the observation. |
Mashkov:I will be glad to be of help to you. Send me an email to resilienceguy at gmail.com |
I need to read up on what makes a good business card then i will rate it... But let me comment as a lay man, "it looks cool". |
lacicrips:lol at the bold. I stopped feeding my Caucasian Indomie which is mixed with chicken chest because i discovered that it makes her Poo smell like an adult human poo and switched to crunches. Call the seller, there are still other good dry food that are cheaper than Royal Canine and are still good. The seller will advice you properly, i think she is also a Vet. |
lacicrips:I checked out the thread, someone asked the Puppy owner if he can see the parents but he is yet to respond to the post,if he is a good breeder he will have no reason not to show the parents of the Puppy. The decision is yours to make, the owner as well did not mention anything about the parents if they were pedigree or not. A potential buyer wants to see the parents of the Puppy this is because sometimes the Puppies turn out very poor (below expectation), a feel both parents will likely give you a clue as to what the Puppy will look like because either pikin resemble him Papa or Mama. I would love to see the parents before i can advice you because i don`t like when people cross-breed a pedigree with non-pedigree. If both parents are pedigree then it is cool but like i said, it is only when we see the parents that we can determine. If you love the Puppy you can go for it but ensure you don`t pay money without seeing the Puppy, you can as well arrange for pay on delivery. I don`t like Breeders who hide facts from potential buyer`s for me it is a red flag not to deal. My 2 cent. |
First is Coopers favorite food, royal canine and K9 puppy can. I mixed them and serve. In second pics Cooper is having a nice meal.
|
lacicrips:That's the Caucasian in the cage, i will get a better pics of her and post later.
|
Cooper got a bone.
|
Cooper loves tug-of-war game. So much energy.
|
lacicrips:Is your dog a Caucasian? I just got hold of an invoice of the feed seller: Marvelous Ventures 283, Old Abeokuta Exp. Road, Tabon-Tabon, Agege Tel: 08033433131, 08029812325 Confirm from them before you buy the Royal Canine, they have it for different breeds. Try it you will love it within one month you will see great improvement, just ensure you have water around for him to drink 24/7. |
lacicrips:I don't have their contacts(phone number) but for a Puppy between 2-4months the small bag can last for a month. Besides, most dogs are not heavy eaters like Cooper, the small bag will be consumed for 3 days by my 6 month old Caucasian. |
This is Coopers milk bought it last for N250 and was told its N300 when i got back, i refused to buy but gave up and bought it when the seller refused to compromise. The can is K9 Cooper loves it too because it contains beef and smells good.

These are Coopers grooming kits..K9 imported shampoo/ conditioner. It is also meant for fleas & ticks.. The grooming comb and perfume. Cooper smells nice at all times so those allergic to doggy smell can still hang around Cooper.
