Was NL like this when people were registering in droves and wanted to be a part of the conversation? Today, Seun is too distracted to pay attention to the details: Seun Google and Apple are succeeding because they pay even more attention to the details than anything else, WHY can you NOT do the same? All the code on NL has a single ultimate purpose -- the user experience of your users! The code is dead, NL is dead without the community of human beings and posters around it! Why do you spend so much time writing more code, more bug fixes, but NOT weeding out trolls and outright animals from this online community? If NL was ever valued, it will never be valued by how many servers you buy or lease in America or Europe, or the number of people you hire and their qualifications, not even so much as the code in itself but by the large number of users and the opportunity to reach them with targeted information. I don't want to hammer you all the time, but you leave me no choice. As a matter of fact, you should be implementing a policy that now looks at not just moderating posts, but offensive user names! Things like supporter of APC, kill***, Die***, etc should be automatically rejected at registration. As part of moderation, you should review all new registrations within a period of time say two weeks if a new ID begins to post tens of comments per day! Common, a script can aggregate new IDs and number of posts and sections within a few lines and this should be reviewed not because you have nothing else to do with your time but the devil is in the details! Don't you get it? This is how you improve the quality of a forum and people and I am sure a considerable percentage of NL would appreciate it more! These are the serious people you want to advertise to anyway, these are the people who feel the pulse of Nigeria anyway, the people who are really concerned, not some human being who has been turned to a bot by hatred or money from some political interest!

I think Seun will not really understand the import of your submission because from my view he believes so much in the the vocal minority who are constituting nuisance and afraid to apply the rules and regulations of the forum. Secondly,the membership of Nairaland is highly exaggerated,if a comprehensive data analysis is conducted to find out active members who have not only visited the site but made consistent comments/post for the past 6 months will not be more than 1,000 but it has over 1 million registered members,these small vocal minority have sent the over 900,000+ sane members to be passive members who only view threads and refuse to participate in the forum. An online community/forum/family that its moderators does not even know its policy,rules & regulation talk less of its implementation is like a home filled with family members without rules and regulation,i leave the state of such a home to your imagination. In the midst of the family commotion the sane members will only flee leaving the insane ones to occupy the home.

I wish i can transform to 20million individuals and also have the ability to disappear to different locations during election. I really need to teach politicians a bitter lesson.

Who even told the haters that the man came to this world to live on their opinion? Most people are just dumb that they think they can impose their miserable life on others...What is wrong with a man taking care of his kids whether the wife is indisposed or not? However,a simple psychiatric evaluation on the suspect should be one of the first step the investigators should have done to determine the mental health of the suspects before going public with unverifiable claim,but that will never be done. A society where investigators obtain statements from suspects by the worst form of cruelty and torture rather than simple investigative techniques.

@OP, I feel your pain but I must tell you that you goofed in the first instance when you dropped the photo enlargement with Sis. Gift without a clear indication of your intention either by word or writing and as a business man that you claim, you should have known better that a little note stating your intention clearly and a demand for the receiver to sign it would have saved you all this headache. Nigerian men of God mentality is all about seed sowing as they expect everything that gets there way as an act of seed sowing which yours is not an exception. Do the needful,go back and collect what the pastor is offering you and move on..... Haunted: I guess it is safe to conclude we have many apache's in this country..so many more coming out to say they slapped their wives to 'submission'. Did you people marry wives or slaves\animals? I hope women are also permitted to slap their men to responsibility\faithfulness as the case may be. Seriously,i was in shock after reading so many post that believes violence against a woman will bring her to submission,i can only envisage two things,minors getting married to minors thinking they are adults, a man that will hit a woman to gain respect and a woman that will submit to a man after been abused. It is ridiculous and i am afraid for the future of my daughters.

The second episode,I am concerned about three set of people here,1. those who will massage your ego to kick your wife out and beat some senses into her, (2). Those who will say you need Jesus in your marriage and prayer,well heaven help those who help themselves,so they said, (3). Those who will say your wife is the worst thing that can happen to a man,you better get a divorce or she will kill you someday. My friend you cannot eat your cake and have it, marriage is a win win game and if you want it the other way round then you must be corky and learn how to put your partner on temporary heaven while he/she does your bidding without knowing..Believe me if a committee is set up to look into this matter they will surely be overwhelmed by the complaints your wife will throw in and so what is the way forward? Something must have triggered your wife attitude towards your parents which you are not willing to take the pain and time to find out but believes it is a must that she loves your parents and your wife also is killing the marriage by keeping her feelings in her heart, believing that you are into divination to read her mind. Up until the both of you grow up and begin to talk like adults who have come together for a common goal believe me nothing will work for you even divorce; as you will be going into your second marriage with the same gabbage and mindset...Do not adopt the flight approach towards your marriage it is the easy way but not the solution,adopt the fight approach and work it out.

It is really difficult to advice married couples because majority of us got married for the wrong reasons,most marital decisions were made out of sentiments,emotions,infatuation etc. When the reality begins to unfold matured adults who in the presences of tens,hundreds,thousands or millions of friends,brothers,sisters,parents and well wishers as the case may be consented and say "yes" I do begin to act like toddlers. In my house I don't go to church but when my family members are around and may be there is something like a thanksgiving or something similar they need me to attend with them, I willingly oblige them. It is pointless trying to convince a believer or make them see reasons, you will only be risking your relationship with them and coming across as some demon possessed person..... religion is a very strong and sensitive issue for one to be debating openly with people who have largely been indoctrinated and brainwashed right from time immemorial.

However, as an Atheist I will not be cajoled to attend any church service for the fear of been ostracized or called a "demon". People do invite me to church and if I have the time I do honor their invitation.You have only one life to live and it must be a definition of who you are irrespective of what other people think or say about you.
