Evina:lol.... May be i have been watching too many animal cartoon. |
Evina:I want to avoid castrating Cooper because he could be a stud. The pics shows what he does to Vera, sometimes she will have bite him hard to let go. Cooper needs to learn how to treat a woman right.
|
Evina:I have never thought of that but sounds good. I am serious when i said "I wish Cooper will live happily with Vera without putting her the family way". Like humans you know the responsibility that comes with pregnancy & child birth.. One thing i am enjoying at the moment is the uniqueness of Cooper & Vera. Cooper is so manly and intimidating while Vera is so feminine that you just can't help but cuddle her from Coopers bully attitude. My daughter after watching their interaction on a particular day " Told me Cooper is a goat". lol. |
Lizabeth25:lol! Where did you get that from? People plan for their burial put out cash for it in the bank and even pay for grave space in advance. If you want to enjoy singleness then you must dedicate your life and time towards a humanitarian course other wise life will certainly become boring. |
Evina:lol! i really wish they can live without Cooper putting Vera in the family way. |
hardbody:I understand your point, believe me since i became eligible to vote i have never voted and i am in my mid thirties..I didn't vote for Goodluck or GMB in 2011 or any other candidate because i was thinking like you. However, i have come to realize that my abstinence like you are doing contributes to the bad leadership we have in this country. You may say oh! i don't care who rules but that is myopic as the policy of the leader affects you one way the other. My vote may not go for either of the most populous candidates but the fact is i must go out and vote to decide who becomes my leader and i want to use this medium to encourage other Nigerians to go out and vote according to their conscience and not on money inducement, religious or ethnic sentiments. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Shun Violence & Vote wisely. |
hardbody:You dey disenfranchise yourself na only 2 candidates they contest for presidency? We have 14 contenstants you gerrit? So you sure don't know your right. |
Whalewale:At Agege..I will find their contact and post here. It's 2k5 |
Since we started our obedience class,Cooper needs a treat to enjoy when he passes a lesson. I got this pack of treat for him.
|
Whalewale:It is liquid. I have a syringe with no niddle on it.. |
Vera's stool has been watery since she arrived even though she eats dry food, the vet said i should observer her for at least 48hrs. Well, 72hrs past it is still the same,so he advice i buy her Diastop & give her 5ml twice daily. The abidec is a multivitamin.
|
Based on the advice of an NL member who was following the thread,i finally got the cord liver oil for Cooper to help give him a good fur. I administered it daily for one week and i can tell you it is good.
|
Since the arrival of Vera, Cooper has refused to eat alone except Vera joins him. Now they feed on one plate. It also encourages Cooper to eat because Vera eats like she is coming from a land where food is scarce.
|
lacicrips:Yes, cost? Do you understand why people with Pups for sale on NL will not publish the price but wants you to contact them privately? Well, that shouldn`t be my business anyway but i just want to help his ministry... Between your budget should be from 300k,It could be higher but not lower and pray for the value of the naira. Hope it helps. |
stonecoldcafe:Yes, they can survive the weather they just need care..Available fresh water at all times,Vera drinks water & you begin to think if you should take her to the stream. The agent who got the dogs in said he does not want his # number on published on public forum due to unserious buyers & spam. He also does not want me to state the cost, i understand his points but you need good money to get these dogs. |
[quote author=XBLadez post=31905706]Wow! Vera looks a lot like Cooper! Are they in any way related? And is she a slant back too?[/quote They are not related... They are from different litter. Cooper is older than Vera. Vera is also a slant back. She is pretty. |
Femi2Ranking:Yes,that is the reason why i said it takes time and effort,i have a Caucasian almost same age with yours and she does the same thing. In fact mine will chew anything on sight to shrewd including clothes and shoes. I do exercise her and spend time with her daily so it is not a question of boredom but behavioral.. I had to sleep in my car in the compound to catch her in the act. Once she is on her chewing spree i will appear from no where and say "STOP" with a loud voice in the middle of the night, O boy the dog almost turned me to mad person, the good thing is its my property and i live alone with no tenants otherwise someone would have surely questioned me. I did it for five days and she stopped. Now i have a very good dog bone which i keep on the ground for her chewing pleasure. |
cococandy:Good you know someone will come after you... Don`t speak with double mouth...The point is she cheated thereby breaking the contractual agreement and covenant of the marriage. The only gross i have with the man is why didnt he divorce her out rightly but wait after 10yrs? If it was the other way round you would be screaming calling men all sorts of names..Majority of you Nigerian ladies are bunch of hypocrites and buggers. |
I will also suggest you try other behavorial management methods other than exercising the dog OVERLY. Like humans if over exercised the dog can give up the ghost or break down.. My neighbor lost his dog as a result of over exercising the dog.. You may also try and watch out to catch him on the act, although, it is no longer fashionable to hit a dog as a corrective measure the positive reinforcement takes a long time for the dog to understand what you actually want him/her to do. This is also one reason why i am an advocate of obedience lesson at least teaching a dog some few basic command like: Stop, sit, come, up,stay etc. If the Dog understands "STOP" then if you can him on the act you can say "STOP" then reinforce her positive response, like i said this will take time and effort because it will automatically turn you to a Vigilante to catch him in the act repeatedly and reinforce his positive response. Otherwise, if you can use the "HIT" method then give him/her a resounding slap IMMEDIATELY you can catch him on the act, timing is important in all of this because if you hit her after the act or before the act you are definitely sending a wrong message to him and will leave him more confuse. However, before adopting this method you must think deeply of the consequences of hitting a dog. |
Mckandre:absolutely "NO". Cooper is a month older than Vera. They are from different litter. |
This is Vera. Cooper was excited seeing her and they exchanged pleasantries in the third pics..Love the way Vera crossed her leg. Much load of obedience training on my hand.
|
At the airport last night to welcome Vera, Coopers companion.
|
tranxo:She is so loyal, this is a dog that learn basic obedience training very early..A friend came to help me out sometime ago to feed her,he was surprised that after serving the dog her food she will wait patiently until he takes his walk and get to a certain distance before she will start eating. He told me and i laughed it was an obedience training to forestall a large dog jumping at you or grabbing food from you. Once i get close to her she either bows or sits this was to forestall an excited large dog jumping, pacing and messing up your clothes. I take obedience training for Puppies very serious,i have seen large dogs that even the owners cannot handle him or her it is completely wrong. |
aguizm:Thanks. |
XBLadez:I think it would be right to say i am given Cooper ONLINE attention. The Caucasian at 7 months is doing very fine, she is a large dog, i can't leave her with Cooper unsupervised not because they get into fight but because Cooper is rough and she can smash him with one foot. Cooper is very much aware of the Caucasian but i have refused to bring her in because the thread is for Cooper. Time will not permit me to open a thread for her. A pics of the Caucasian... She is 7 months does she look OK?
|
braindamage:You are right but you know like we humans we love kids when they are young, the exhibit different characters that from a side view makes you happy and smile, same applies to dogs.. You have to see Cooper playing and chasing his skills at that young age will amaze you.. Once they get to 6-7 months the stress will reduce. |
torhuke:I think you are still very young.... When you get to your late 30s to 40s you will understand that it should be the other way round but what is life if you don`t live it the way you want?. I was in my late late 20s driving a Toyota Camry 2010 model(spider) and had a 2000 model Toyota Camry big light as well.. Today i am in mid 30s in my own house and driving a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder. If you give me a second chance i will live in a rented apartment, trekking and investing my money. Having a job that pays you 6 figure income or business is not an excuse because the job is not your fathers job and someday you might be laid off and business can go wrong. |
My usual Saturday morning training,Cooper went loose when i brought the ball out and went on chasing trip,we played together & it was fun. Next i have to set up a goal post so we know the actual winner for d day.
|
lacicrips:lol... Dogs like humans are all unique. |
Bolade005:I don't know where u can get it in Nigeria ooo but i know people have it here, i will confirm from my Vet. I imported Cooper through my Vet contact,i will speak with him and if they permit me i will post his contact details here other wise i may have to send it to you in Private. I will be glad to see people getting good dogs,i am importing a sister & wife for Cooper based on my daughters suggestion that Cooper should have a companion...It make likely enter the country on Sunday 22nd March. |
XBLadez:Bones are rich in calcium to develop their bones and also i read somewhere that chewing bones also helps to keep their teeths/mouth clean. |
The Caucasian loves indomie, chicken with bones mixed with K9 crunches.I usually add the K9 crunches to make his poo hard..So i tried the recipe for Cooper, indomie, chicken flesh & royal canine..Cooper had a nice meal.
|
LOL at Goat.

... I use peanuts as treats instead though
