All the insßsecurity problems nigeria is facing today are directly the fault of president buhari,when buhari came to power he claimed he was for everyone but it soon became crystal clear that he was n is still for some people specifically his fulani kinsmen n fellow northern Muslims, shortly after buhari came to power his fulani herdsmen brothers became very bold n went on an orgy of violent attacks across many states notably benue, plateau,taraba etc killing n causing widespread destructions,no serious action was n has been taken against these herdsmen, eventually the attacks spread to the SW SE,the SWgovernors strategize n formed AMETOKUN (SWSN) the SE governors foot draged giving Nnamdi kanu led IPOB to create ESN,now the ESN unlike their AMETOKUN counterpart became very aggressive in their conduct brandishing sophisticated prohibited arms n even engaging the military in confrontation,the police has already been weakened by the aftermath of endsars protest which was very badly manage by buhari's administration,now the security problem in the SE is getting worse with very unpredictable consequences I'm sure that the only reason why a major offensive has not been launch in the SE is the fear of fighting on two fronts i.e against Boko Haram in the NE n against ESN in the SE,in this lacuna the ESN may have seen an opening n probably building up their arsenal with effective portable military hardwares such as MANPADS,RPG,GPMG etc the future is looking really dangerous for Nigeria no thanks to buhari's sentiments and bias, instead of true national leadership he was more concerned about RUGA, cattle colony, taking over of inland water bodies all for fulani herdsmen benefits only,I have said it before n I will say it again that it shall be the north that shall push it luck too far that would eventually led to the break up of the country.

Please I need a clarification about these late soldiers, there's the rumours that those soldiers were procured by a retired general to protect his country home rather than being on any legal official operation before they were caught by the militia in konshisha but if this rumour is a lie n the soldiers were officially deployed were the local government chairmen of the Waring communities duely informed,what happened is certainly painful n condemnable but somethings doesn't just add up about the whole affair, anyone with an idea please?

You've almost got it right.


The issue in contention is that the constitution states that anybody that was born in a territory or whose parent or grand parent was born in a territory that became part of Nigeria at independence is a citizen of Nigeria. The date of independence is October 1st, 1960.

What this NGO, Nnamdi Kanu and APC are arguing is that the part of Adamawa that Atiku was born in was part of Cameroon until 1961.


Cameroon was colonised by Germany and it was handed over to France and Britain after World War 1.

The French part of Cameroon got its independence in 1960. There was a referendum in 1961 to determine if the British part would stay with Nigeria or become part of Cameroon. The northern part voted to stay with Nigeria, while the southern part voted to become part of Cameroon. Northern Cameroon became part of Nigeria on June 1st, 1961.


So, what these people are saying is that Atiku was not a Nigerian on October 2nd, 1960.


Anyway, this is a 2019 lawsuit. I think the National Assembly has corrected the problem since then.

But if Atiku was a citizen of any territory by birth n that territory is subsequently transferred to Nigeria by whatever legal means doesn't it automatically legally follow that all his rights and entitlement have also been transferred to Nigeria?

If anyone can check my history on this forum,he/she would realized that some years back,I wrote that I would not be disappointed if buhari performs poorly but it would in fact be a rude suprise to me if he performs well,that thought was informed by my knowledge of buhari's history,the twists in them n my experience of his rule as military head of state,there were people I argued with so much over buhari before 2015 elections,one particular person who was a university lecturer was so carried away by the Apc propaganda about buhari that was ready to fight over buhari,the man left to Ireland shortly after buhari won,he came visiting a year ago only to relocate permanently with his family but before he left he admitted how utterly disappointed he was in buhari, personally I still stand by my opinion because I don't see anything changing about buhari.

I'm always thrilled reading kperogi's unbiased n well thought-out writes up, from the write up it's clear that Giwon in his overzealousness n lack of foresight created the problem that has now turn out to hurt his own faith more, ironically the same Gowon use to go about organising one meaningless "Nigeria prays", now he is too ashamed to speak out, Even though kperogi's suggested solution is very correct it's almost impossible for it to work because the Muslims who were presented with a free opportunity on Gowon"s platter of gold would never let it go peacefully, this should serve as a good lesson to the christians in position of authority who are found of taking decisions without due diligence but are more concerned about their ego n pride only to look stupid in time to come.

yes, its true that the number of security personnel in Nigeria are inadequate but the major problem is not about the numbers but how they are being used,I'm afraid to say that Nigeria is not using her security personnel wisely at all, instead of allowing the civil defense to be competing with n duplicating police duties they should be deployed to perform real civil defending duties like guarding civil government buildings n establishments such as schools, hospitals, secretariats,offices, markets,traditional rulers residence n offices etc while taking the police out of those places,the highway security by the police should be streamlined n shouldn't be an all comers affair in the police,the law should be changed to make way for the improve training n higher weapons for the operational unit of the police like the PMF,CTU,SF to really perform their duties n free up the military from most of those IS duties,the military can then concentrate on their core mandate, again all the paramilitary security personnel should be well trained to handle arms n every security outfit must have a special conbat operational unit that can call upon to support other sister outfit in joint operations when the need arises,the government really need to provide simple but effective tech gadgets for the securities to give them an edge over the criminals, things like night vision Google's ,drones, binoculars etc are very essential not just patrol vehicles with coloured lights sirens,most times when I look at Nigerians government respond to security challenges I just get amused,it appears as if we are not thinking at all.
