PoliticsRe: Why Northern Emirs Admire Osinbajo By David Omoruyi by Deepthoughts: 9:56pm On Feb 12, 2020
Jhayphil:
There is a peculiar but heartwarming trend that continually plays out in Nigeria every time the Emirs and other traditional rulers in the North have the opportunity to host VP Yemi Osinbajo on his numerous official visits.

These royal fathers from the predominantly Muslim Northern region are usually so enamored with a Christian pastor from the South West of Nigeria and this is for no other reason than Prof. Osinbajo being the most hardworking VP we have ever had the opportunity to see as a nation.

Their admiration is usually very public and effusive; hence they can never be misquoted or misinterpreted, even by the most mischievous of reporters.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III openly praised Osinbajo on the 29th of November, 2019, at the General Assembly of Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA). He applauded the Vice President for his leadership, which he said was given to him by God.

Prof. Osinbajo was also applauded a couple of weeks earlier by the Emir of Daura Alhaji Faruk Umar on the 2nd of Nov, 2019, for his loyalty and commitment to the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. Umar described Osinbajo as the most trustworthy vice president of Nigeria, who always has the best interest of Nigeria on his mind.

The Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II recently told Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to consider Kano State as his second home. He made this grand royal gesture of hospitality when he received Osinbajo in his palace in Kano on January 13, 2020.

These royal fathers seem to be greatly in awe of his humility, for such a learned fellow and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria; it would not be out of place were the VP to be aloof and proud of his accomplishments. However, the reverse is the case, as we have seen him show such empathy and milk of human kindness, even in the most spontaneous of moments in public when he relates with the crowds who always troop out on the roads whenever he goes on his work visits to the Northern states.

No matter how many times we hear the divisive rhetoric, one glaring fact is that these royal fathers clearly appreciate the loyalty and tacit support with which the VP carries out his duties in support of his boss. We have seen a president and vice president get involved in full blown battle of supremacy while being occupants of Aso Rock Villa, this is why the brotherly bond of trust shared by Buhari and Osinbajo from inception of their administration is very noteworthy.

Another fact worth mentioning is that even when there was a highly orchestrated and strategically executed media blitzkrieg against the VP by forces popularly called ‘the cabal’ within the corridors of power in Abuja, these Northern traditional leaders saw through it all with such uncanny wisdom and continually preached for unity between the first two citizens while admonishing their detractors.

These royal fathers have witnessed firsthand many internal power plays, even in their own palaces; hence they were not easily swayed by the loads of unfounded rumors which were deployed against the person and character of the VP.

As a man who is steadfastly working in the interest of every Nigerian, both at home and abroad, it does not take much observation to see that these Northern leaders sincerely appreciate the people-friendly policies and actions carried out by Osinbajo in the course of executing his official duties as the Vice President of Nigeria.

He is a man of his words, and he has publicly sworn twice to carry out these duties for the good of the people, irrespective of religious or regional differences.

David Omoruyi writes from Abuja.
Don't just worry,by 2023 go n ask those same emirs their thoughts about osibanjo, you hear!

I just cant wrap my head around it. I ve observed overtime and I am still wondering how these things happen.

You see a very good looking dude/lady getting married to a not so physically appealing and compatible dude/lady.

Some might say it could be that the lady/dude has got some monetary influence or that his/her dad is Otedola, Sir Tony Elumelu or Dangote or something like that or that he/she has inner beauty/qualities and all that.

Some might say the definition of beauty can be personal sometimes which doesn't take any particular conventional explanation and that it usually lies in the eyes of the beholder.

But let me ask all the fine boys & pretty ladies on Nairaland. "

"Can u get married to a ladyGuy that doesn't measure up or complement you with his/her looks"

I believe that every good looking guy/ lady deserves an amazingly beautiful/ handsome woman/guy to get married to, at least for the sake of posterity... let the unborn kids be proud their dad/mum made the right choicegrin
so you don't want the ugly ones to taste something better, you bad ooh.

RomanceRe: My Girlfriend Only Calls Anytime She Wants Sex. by Deepthoughts: 9:08am On Feb 12, 2020
McCoy662:
Good morning Nlanders, I have this very issue bothering me. I have been in a relationship with this girl for about 3 years now. I love her so much, and she loved me until of recent when she told me that she's no longer interested in the relationship. She told me the stern truth that she was seeing someone else.

It's not like I don't take care of her, because I have given her almost everything she requested from me. I bought 90% of her clothes myself as she can't even buy for herself if I give her the money. I pay her bills too.

Just about 2 months ago, the said guy called me and told me that his gf (my gf) said I'm her ex, and they are now together. This guy is not that rich, he's just on average income scale, he's not super handsome and the worst is that, this girl calls and comes to my house for sex anytime she feels like. But that's all, we are not friends like before, we don't go out together, she don't even oblige my requests anytime I ask her for anything. She doesn't even visit on a regular except for sex.

Right now, I'm fed up; I'm tired of being in this love triangle, though I love her so much.
My guys advised me to beat her up and warn her never to come close to my house again, but I just can't. Though I feel used as a sex object, but I just can't say no to this girl's request.

I don't just know, am I being stupid?? Is there a Best way to handle this in a more diplomatic way?? I really love this girl.
This is my candid advise,I know that ordinarily if she is giving you free sex then you may be tempted to just tag her along but if you are truly not happy with the arrangement then arrange with a girl to pretend to be your girl friend n deliberately let this Bleep mate meet her in your place, tell your arrange girl to really up the show and watch what your Bleep mate does, you can decide your next move from the results.

RomanceRe: Im Thinking Of Divorce Just Few Months Into Marriage by Deepthoughts: 3:50pm On Feb 02, 2020
hybrid77:
Pls i need a sincere advice here.

Im 3 months old in marriage and im so unhappy about the set up (my wife too)

My wife is a student and she tried everything to shift the marriage until easter this year but i refused due to many projects for the year. so we got married 3 months ago.

I took care of her bills since she got admission and we dated for 5 years

But she is so disrespectful and want to make important decisions in marriage which ive refused to allow.

Now, she claims i forced her into marriage and she is not mentally ready because i asked her to change to my family's name.

She has been good then bad then worse..And i think her words about forcing her into marriage has irreparably hurt me.

I spent over 3m of my cash to give her the wedding she wanted (Without any support from her family) against my wish for a 1m wedding.

And despite getting the big wedding she wants before consenting to marry last year, she claims she is not mentally ready and was forced into marriage.

she has repeated this over and over and its making me go crazy..in fact im tired already

Right now she wants more time to be a wife..but im beginning to feel there is a love issue here..I feel she does not love me as she always claims

Though weve settled but we dont talk as usual..we dont even want to hear from each other...

it seems i nolonger love her like i used to..And worst still, continuing with the marriage when she claims she was forced is degrading and disreputable.

My question is, at what point should anyone seriously consider a divorce?
Personally I can't n don't support the idea of sponsoring any girl in school to marry her later,I can relate with n support you at the level of dating but anything marriage will be after graduating that's if I'm still convinced about you n certainly if I'm to marry you at all then we must have Frank talk on issues like employment n financial control n management in the family, rights n previledges of in-laws,gender equality n authority etc,if you are too shy or lacks the confidence to engage your lady frankly about these issues then your are certainly laying the foundation for problem, imagine a girl insisting on a type of wedding for me to sponsor!,I will rather let you go than allow any woman to turn me to a woman wrapper, sorry ops if not for the millions spent I would have ask you to let her go as it's clear she only wanted to use you but if you are bouyant enough you can still let her go n start afresh but this time very wisely.

This is a dangerous move by APC which pdp should go to court to quickly checkmate by having the defectors seats declared vacant for defecting not as a result of any factions in pdp but purely out greed or coersion,as it is now buhari/Apc can easily get the supreme Court to cancel the elections altogether and ask for a rerun while the new speaker who is now of the Apc takes ove as acting governor then with federal backing, intimidation n coersion Apc will win the rerun, it's only those who lacks self opinion or analytical ability that continue to believe the scam that buhari has integrity.

Gov Obi Vs Andy Uba: Supreme Court Blasts Okonkwo Of NAP

In a unanimous verdict, the Supreme Court yesterday in Abuja dismissed applications filed by former presidential aide, Dr. Emmanuel Nnamdi Uba, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Anambra State gubernatorial candidate of the Nigeria Advance Party (NAP), Mr. Ifeanyichukwu Okonkwo, seeking to set aside its earlier judgment which declared Dr. Peter Obi as the legal occupant of the governor's seat.

The court described Okonkwo as a blackmailer who goes about extorting money from politicians and declared that he was "not fit to even live in the jungle."

Earlier, Justice George Adeshola Oguntade had sought from Okonkwo clarification on the purpose of N10 million bribe he allegedly received from Obi. He said he was paid the said sum to withdraw his preliminary objections to Obi's appeal and not to withdraw the main appeal.

It also lambasted Okonkwo for his brazenness in approaching it with an application to set aside its own judgment upon the claims that he was paid N10 million by Obi to compromise himself at the Court of Appeal

It also lambasted Okonkwo for his brazenness in approaching it with an application to set aside its own judgment upon the claims that he was paid N10 million by Obi to compromise himself at the Court of Appeal

well my opinion was based on an earlier piece I read were the writer claimed the supreme Court had ruled in favor of ubah only to change their minds after obi forced a review, perhaps that claim was only concocted, but be that as it may,I still believe there are lots of valid point to prove that the supreme Court erred n so asking for a review is not a futile venture after all, nothing ventures nothing wiins.

I don't always agree with Junaid but I strongly believe there is a lot of sense in what he said especially the lack of tact by the igbo political leadership, political n power acquisition is a delicate smart game you know.

Iliterate.. this is not bbnaija. This is a serious issue you are trivialising like this.
In otherwords you are saying the SC judges are dumb and did not know what they were doing abi. They just wasted thier time during the proceedings.

I have said it severally that no matter how one look at the supreme Court ruling in the I'm elections matter, the judgement was flawed, the best they could have done was to cancel the elections completely n ask for a rerun, this is a chance for the supreme Court to redeem or destroy herself.

OVIHINNO:
There can't be over voting because of the following facts;
The results from the 388 polling units were totally excluded. That means both the accredited votes and valid votes weren't taken into consideration by INEC when they made their declaration.
Naturally since the supreme court added those valid votes from the 388 polling units automatically accredited votes will increase with at least the combination of valid votes scored by all the candidates, void votes, cancelled votes etc
There cannot be valid votes without accreditation
please why can't the new tally n results be made public now?

sad As a born again Christian who is meant to speak the truth at all times, i think this amoketun issue is being hypocritically blown out of proportion to expand hatred for other tribes especially the Fulanis. Why must we Christians be the brain behind the vast support for Amotekun when the Nigerian constitution is clear about the roles of the armed forces and police in the security of the country? Why must we form an ethnic militia to target fellow Nigerians when the constitution guarantees freedom of movement and doing business nationwide as long as we are Nigerians? What we fail to realize is that the south east cheering on Amotekun sees its as a synonym for their biafra agitations and they will rather support anything that will disband the relative peace and unity of Nigeria. The IPOB sympathizers will be the one to cry wolf when Amotekun starts targeting their tribesmen who commits various crimes in the south west. MURIC recently condemned the killing of a CAN pastor and sympathized with we Christians, how many Christians will condemn the killing of an imam or Muslims? Instead we rejoice when tragedy strikes them forgetting we are all humans before religion. Instead of emulating our Muslim brothers who have remained silent on this issue of Amotekun, we Christians are disturbing the cyberspace with hypocritical comments. Amotekun will never see the light of the day as long as we remain one Nigeria. It's a bad policy and a tribalistic security outfit aimed at persecuting other Nigerians. On behalf of we Christians, i condemn Amotekun. Let's learn to live in peace and harmony sad
When you people say the Constitution guarantees freedom of movement, does the Constitution accept that one's movement and activities should be a threat to another's existence and survival?
