There shld be other ways of removing street hawkers instead of barning commercial vehicles totally ( though there menace is very irritating especially wen u r not heading to d market but just passing thru and u get caught ind traffic).they r not considerate of d masses, this is a big market with pple with heavy loads. It would be beta to allow taxis alone and eliminate d buses

Another scenario is this; he might be a driver that his boss usually allow him to take his car home or a lucky driver with a nice rich boss who dashed him one of his old vehicles.
So d guy has to guide it jealously.

I want to believe a son or daughter might have bought it for his/her old parents and since that's their home they have no choice than to pack it infront and cage it cos of wondering hands & fingers! I doubt if this is against robbery.....it can't stop a determined bros!!!

[/color]ipes]Really? Really? And these pple think mobile fone is the next thing that farmers need? Who even told them they don't have fones? Have they considered villages with no light and network at all?
Then what is the job of an agricultural extension graduate( that is suppose to be d intermidiary between govt, research institutes and farmers)? So fone is going to replace them? Maybe agricultural extension and rural development as a course should just be removed from our higher institutions.
Am sure if they employ extension graduates in all states for these job the fg won't spend up to half of what they will be wasting on this so called project.
As the federal govt considered that what farmers need is loan facility without outrageous collaterals, subsidy on mechanized farm machineries, quality and affordable fertilizer, good seedlings, better roads for transport of produce to market and good storage facilities?
Seriously these farmers have mobe phones where their is network and they have their transistor radios for information on weather so what is the federal goverment talking about?
Really? Mobile phones?

Celebrities / Re: Last Photo Of Bisi Komolafe In Hospital Before Her Death by deesnipes(f): 7:40am On Jan 03, 2013
wengerjay: Thousands of patients had been to this hospital and survived, even those dat their conditions were worse than hers.It is only when there is record of death dat we begin to codemn our health facilities in totality. We are all vulnerable to sickness and the best place to visit is our hosp,if any of ur relative gets sick,u as a person may decide nt to visit our hosp, dat is if u ve other alternatives like flyin them abroad for treatment or visiting the traditional healers.Lets jst encourage our govt to equip our hosps.

I think another major problem is that people engage in self medication and its when the situation gets complicated that they start running to hospitals. Also some of these doctors in our govt hospitals run private clinics so they prefer to treat patients there instead of referring them to uch and others. I recently learned of a man in ibadan who had heart attack while driving which led to accident, he was taken to a private hospital close by and was treated well until he was stabilized, then d family requested to take him to uch but d doctor was relunctant. When d family forcefully took him out he didn't gicve them referal letter on time so he wasn't given d proper follow up immediately in uch which eventually led to his death.
So I think for our health system to be revamped; everyone must be invloved.

It shld be who d wife is more comfortable with and d one that has d time.
Personally I wud prefer my mum cos I can ask her to do anything for me and she will do it without even blinking but ur mother inlaw might read a different meaning to ur request. Also u can prevail on ur mum abt not doing some stuffs which u r not comfortable with but with ur Mil she will enforce it o .
Education / Re: Covenant University Expels Over 200 Students by deesnipes(f): 11:08am On Dec 05, 2012
The muslim students are much more disciplined than the christians in privatye schools o. They don't even miss any worship service and they still do their daily prayers with their mat in the rooms. I remember they were allowed to even go out to a particular mosque to pray on fridays outside d school though I don't think they still do dat.

All thsese issues is a matter of discipline and good home training jare.
Once you know ur 4 or 5 yrs is constant, do wateva they want and get out . U still av d remaining part of ur life to enjoy ur freedom.
Also some kids don't put their parents into consideration before behaving erractically at times because everything is handed to them on a platter of gold. If u realise that ur going to a private uni is an opportunity and not a right , then u will make good use of that opportunity.

Education / Re: Covenant University Expels Over 200 Students by deesnipes(f): 10:33am On Dec 05, 2012
Any one getting admission into a private university are aware of the laws right from when you pay ur acceptance fee and u av a copy of d rules and regulations. Furthermore both parents and students do sign a letter of undertaking binding them to these rules and their consequences.so when u disobey, expect consequences( though consequences are not commensurate with offences most times like in this case).
Also schools taking these kind of measures are most times operating from experiences. Many of these private unis were not even 20percent hard as they are now. There has been a lot of abuses from the students and also from parents who think they are high and mighty and there children can get away with anything.an example of this; in my 100level in a private uni, there were some guys from d same family trying to introduce cultism in d school cos they've bin in other unis before, they go abt threating other guys and even to d extent on planning to rape in d female hostels.the student protested to d school administration, d guys were expelled and lo and behold tjeir father sued d school and the case was in court for a very long time to d extent that our registrar had to be on house arrest for a while.after the whole sAga, rules became harder with stiffer penalties.
We also have parents that want to turn private unis into rehabilitation centers for their wayward children so they always complain that the rules are not as strict as they shld be.imagine a child that took permission to go home on a weekend not knowing that the father was also on his way to visit him in school that same day. On getting to the school and did not meet d child it was serious drama asking the school authority who gave them permission to allow d child leave d school; that he was d one that brought d child to school and until he comes to d school to take his child, he shldnt be allowed to leave. This and many more cases like this made d school to start given exit permit once a month.

Health / Re: Four-Week-Old Baby Bled To Death After Botched Circumcision by deesnipes(f): 9:10pm On Nov 28, 2012
We are all blaming the nurse only, what about the parents? The story says the baby died a day after the circumcision not during or immediately after so why did the parents not rush the baby to the emergency room buit rather left him to bleed to death?
Family / Re: Don't I Have The Right To Be In Labour Room With My Wife? by deesnipes(f): 3:45pm On Nov 28, 2012
I know of a man that told his wife that the day he enters the labour room with her will be her last delivery, so she should know when to ask him. It just shows that not all men can stand to  their wife in that kind of pain
Also in most labour room in Nigeria there are more than one woman in the room at the same time so men are not allowed inside.
Nairaland / General / Re: What Is Wrong In Asking Someone "How Was Your Night?" by deesnipes(f): 3:02pm On Nov 28, 2012
There is nothing wrong in asking the question if only you are asking someone you are familiar with. If someone that we rarely sit down to talk for 5mins ask me d question, my first response within me is ' what's your business with my nite'.
Maybe d op's friend flared up cos someone she doesn't even know has asked her that same question and she was irritated already so the colleague had to bear the brunt of it all.

Seriously you don't meet someone for the first time maybe in a bus and he's asking you how was your nite? That's total nonsense jor.

For you to enjoy ur stay in ib u have to get someone dat knows d fun places to be and has d right connections. Two pple may go to kokodome and av different stories to tell abt d place depending on their company their.
Also there r some places dat pple may want to term local but u won't belief d callibre of pple dat goes their e.g a place at eleyele electronics market, its wen u enter inbetween d shops dat u'll know wats going on, I.e correct point n kill fresh fish with unbelievably enlightened conversation. ( I used to pose as my dads girlfriend then).
For tourist attraction, find someone who knows "bowers tower" its in d interior parts of ibadan wher tjis galaxy tv station first stated. From the tower u can  all of ibadan or almost all ( but be prepared to  a lot of brown roofs)m

Also try n locate sabo for nice suya and a junction calld general gas in akobo, d suya their is great though I don't know if it still exists. Ibadan tennis club (nice billiards and snookers)n d'rovans hotel.
Think I shld stop here.
And also ori oke in roundabout along cultural centre
