Righteousness is the central message Christ died to share with us. That's where our emphasis really should be.

Nothing other than it can stand at the last day. Prosperity and success will not stand; they end here on earth.

Salvation from sin is the key message. Everything else na side talk.

Like you said, one doesn't need to be a Christian to achieve success, prosperity, fame etc.

But one MUST be righteous to enter the Kingdom.

It's a message the prosperity Gospel has pushed to the sidelines. We hardly hear of it from our pulpits; materialism has overthrown it.

Having read all ur comments, in my own opinion, this is is an extremely complicated issue. Saying there is confuspino in christiandom is an understatement. There is catastrophy. Most pastors are more interested in personal fame, wealth, gathering multitudes as followers, etc than the salvation of the followers. Because of this, the level of occultism is so much in the church. Instead of trying to prove to the world that you are together, you loose your salvation. Stay alone. God knows those who are his. Some pastors are worse than fetish priests. Phil 2:12, Matt 13:24-30.
WORK OUT YOUR OWN SALVATION WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING. My candid opinion.

A very difficult truth. We seem to major in the issues that divide us. I believe the top pastors are somehow United, but the same can't be said of us at the bottom levels.

Sometimes I think whether we read different Bibles. The one I read preaches oneness and love in the Body of Christ, not schism and quarrels.

Bro, I agree prosperity is part of the Gospel package, but like you said, it's being abused and over-flogged. It's one message that can choke away all other vital values in the life of a believer. The prosperity Gospel only focuses on what we get, rather than what Christ gets.

These fundamental doctrinal differences are a major source of division amongst us. We are in trouble.

christians are not perfectly united in one mind and with one judgement. everyone follows his own view whether it conform with that of christ or not. if i speak A and u speak B, we are not one. we are speaking different thing hence not united. why can't Christians worship God under one body church? why denominationalism? why sectarianism? it makes other religion to see christians as confused people.

Jehovah witness said there is no hell fire, Redeem said that there is hell fire. wont someone listening to them be confused? it means that one of them have deviated from the words of christ thereby not following christ.

Bro, JWs are NOT Christians. Anybody that denies the Godhead of Christ are NOT Christians.

The time is hear a new generation of Christians are rising up who will take the pure revelation of Christ and his body to the churches all around the world.

The move is already started. It's about the revelation of Christ.

This season is bittersweet for me. Just last Sunday, we dedicated our daughter. A day before that Sunday, being Saturday, l lost a very close cousin to the cold claws of death. He died in a marine accident at Bayelsa last Saturday. Former Bayelsa state deputy Governor narrowly escaped.
Below is my tribute to my departed cousin, DENNIS.

Dear brother, your untimely death is a big blow to.us all. I'm yet to come to terms with the brutal fact that you're dead; that you're no more. You have thrown hundreds of us into untold agony, tears, pains and gloom. You have created a vacuum that will take our family years to fill.

Your untimely exit is a challenge very difficult for us to handle. You were diligent, visionary, wise, mature and brotherly. You died in the course of active duty. You died serving your nation. You died in honour.

However, your death was a tormenting one. It's ironical that as an Izon man, your familiar marine environment was the source of your early demise. You were trapped. You couldn't swim to safety. It was too late be for rescue got to you people. I could only imagine what thoughts crossed your mind as you vainly sought a window or door of escape. You drowned.

Oh death, why did you take him now? You should have allowed him get to 70. Maybe 80. I'm bereaved. I'm confused. You were the hope of your aged mother. You were her nostrils. You have created rivers of tears in our family.

Oh death, there's no single home which your evil claws haven't scoured. There's no community where you have not caused tears of sorrow.

Somebody, please console me. I'm in deep.agony. I'm in pains. Who shall bring you back? Who shall play your fatherly and husband roles? Eniye is now fatherless! Your young wife, Salvation, is now a widow. Too painful.

I wish I could turn back the hands of time. I haven't witnessed pains on this pedestal before now!

I will never forget you. May your gentle soul rest in peace.

I'm a proud member of DEEPER LIFE BIBLE CHURCH. I was born and brought up in this church and at my age(early twenties) I still go there without compulsion. I'm ok wit the doctrine and I comply. Pls, we have freedom of worship but make sure u worship God in Spirit and Truth. Ur sole aim should be making heaven at last. THANKS.

Dear sister, I'm really happy for you and your convictions about Heaven; that' the ultimate call.

The DLBC has a special place in my heart, but I had to prayerfully leave when it was the time. I thank God I'm still in the faith TODAY.

It's a place where you are fed undiluted word of God. A place where Heaven is the emphasis. But i had to leave as I wasn't enjoying the pattern of worship again. This is my sole personal experience. I still have friends there.

Till date, I still attend our retreat programs.

I now worship in the RCCG. But we do all serve one and the same God.

Jesus only is our message!

Believe me, I do not intend to be a pastor. However if it's God's will, I have no option. But on my own, I won't go headlong into a daunting assignment as that.

Lemme leave the other part of ur comment.

Church leaders should emphasize the oneness in the Body of Christ. There isn't any separate Heaven for every individual denomination. Many persons are quicker to tell you which church they attend rather than they being Christians. This must stop!

I find it very easy to attend any Bible believing Church.

You mentioned potential converts being chased away due to high standards. I'd rank that last as a reason for leaving fellowship. See if a fellowship packaged itself attractive for the world, it most likely will compromise.This is why you hear of a carnal church. It is a tight rope my brother I can assure you. Too friendly and they become like them, too Puritan and nobody can hear them due to the height of the pedestal they perched themselves on

Summary is, there are many churches out there. Everyone should attend the one that suits their values and standards. I currently worship with the RCCG. ..

I agree. Except for very fundamental issues of doctrines, leaving a church due to the matters you listed in ur posts, is really petty.

That's the problem. Believe me: When I was in my former place of worship, I erroneously believed anyone attending a church other than where I attended was doomed for hell. I never trusted the salvation of another.

But once I got the revelation of Christ, all those synthetic dogmas and beliefs peeled off my eyes like fish scales. I now relate better with others. I no longer have that attitude of spiritual superiority.

Most importantly, I now know we have ONLY ONE CHURCH. And that's where all Christians belong.

That's their standard. She/he would have done it in another church or better still @ home to save the embarrasement. I remember in the year 2005 when I was part of grooms men in a wedding that took place in MFM delta,all the flowers girls were asked to clear up their make up and loose their weavon before entering the church . Initially I was angry and though to myself "we are invited guest why this", it was latter I got to understand that it was their rules there. But some MFM members do apply make up and wear attachment too and I have seen many both on tv and real world so what is MFM saying concerning them?

I have no qualms with churches setting their own standards. Of course, you were right; the woman should have known the norms and standards of the MFM.

My grouse is, many churches have used their standards to chase away converts Christ would have saved. Christianity should not be burdensome. Jesus told us His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

It seems some people cherish and foment trouble. Some people can't seem to politely quote a person; they must make a personal attack.

Just watch as this thread confirms our division!

OP, you just took the words out of my mouth. I don't know why we are so divided. We hardly sing the same song. We hardly agree on a thing. We preach denomination instead of Christ. A house divided against itself cannot stand.
