Maser: Dumb thread! Since when did difficulty in making first class become a thing of pride for institutions. It is rather an indictment on low standard of education in such institutions and that is how the civilized world sees it. The lecturers failed to impart knowledge and hence the woeful outcome. Universities are supposed to pride themselves in producing many firsts. Tell them! We simply have a system that's designed to fail students. |

Enough for me that Jesus saves, This ends my fear and doubt; A sinful soul I come to Him, He will never cast me out. You will rededicate your life if a classical pianist play this hymn on a solemn Sunday service. |

God is not an author of confusion..
Even Jesus handed the body of Christ over to Peter when he was still on earth. That is how things should be done..
" You are Peter and upon this rock I will build my church.. "... I agree with most of your lines. But as per your last one, I don't. The Church couldn't have been built on Peter. Jesus is the Rock.on which it stands. |

Composed by Charles Wesley. I soar with the hymn It's also a wonderful one. Any hymn reminding us of the great work at Calvary should be committed to memory, and sung over and over. Charles Wesley was indeed a great Christian hymnist. |

Ukutsgp: There are many things the death of christ freed us from, but it seems many christians are entangling themselves again with the yoke of bondage. Gal 5:1. The law spelt out death penalty for sabbath offenders. Does it means today that, if anyone does any work on the sabbath should be stoned to death? The answer is no. Because christ has freed us from the bondage of the law. The law of the sabbath is no longer binding on christians. Just like circumcision and other laws has been abolished in christ Jesus. We can now worship God anyday we choose to cos we are free and free indeed. Let no man judge me in sabbath and the likes. Simple. It comes by revelation. I had argued the same way in the past. The only acceptable worship is one done in spirit and in truth. |
Christianity Etc › Tithe:when Shall The Arguments Cease? by dein77(op): 9:24am On Nov 03, 2014 |
It seems we keep recycling this old arguments. Every side is more determined to hold onto their convictions more than ever before. It seems we do not have more important issues to discuss. This matter is creating unnecessary tensions and bickering amongst us Christians. I suggest everyone should sheath their swords of arguments. We can win over converts with obvious division and quarrels amongst us; others are mocking us.
When shall we talk about love, giving, forgiveness, healing, etc?
We have simply majored on the issues that divide us.
Let him that pays his tithe do not condemn him that pays not, and vice versa.
We keep driving away people from our faith with our constant TITHE arguments.
Christ will hold us accountable.
Shalom. |
Christianity Etc › Re: The Word by dein77(m): 8:52am On Nov 03, 2014 |
kpakpandoN: The word of God is God communicating with us and the word of God is God revealed to us. In it we see His nature and His character. The word of God is forever settled in heaven. The word of God is a living spirit (John 6:63). The word of God reveals the mind of God and therefore His will to us. What can man do without the word of God? Nothing! It is the word of God that gives us the means of salvation from sin. It confronts us with the reality of our fallen state, the doom of sinners and the way out through the love and mercy of God. It is the same word that serves as our compass on our journey to Heaven (Acts 20:32).The word of God also reveals God’s provision for our successful and victorious living here on earth, and how to harness His promises in our lives. What would we do without the word of God? Any congregation of God’s people that give prominence to the word of God, teaching and preaching it, and patterning their lives according to it will be blessed. But those that do otherwise are treading on very dangerous grounds.
“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.” Isaiah 40:7-8 The word of God will outlast anyone. Though heaven and earth shall pass away, the word of God shall not pass away (Matthew 24:35). What should your attitude towards the word of God be? The word itself reveals this: “Tremble at God’s word” (Isaiah 66:2). This directs God’s attention to you for favour and victory (Isaiah 66:5). You are to uphold the word of God in your life irrespective of circumstances. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego upheld the word of God even at the point of death, and God did not disappoint them. You are to feed your mind the word of God. This will renew your mind to think the way God thinks and will restrain you from sin (Psalm 119:11). The word of God coming out prophetically from the mouth of God’s anointed servants is as powerful as the written word. The story of the official in Samaria, who derided the word of God from the mouth of Elisha attests to this. He paid for it with his life (2 Kings 7:18-20). I encourage you to tremble indeed at God’s word; study it, meditate on it, obey it and you will prosper (James 1:25). The Word of God is life. It's Jesus Christ Himself. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Nairalander Personal Experience About Tithe by dein77(m): 8:44am On Nov 03, 2014 |
Goshen360: It is not your continuous paying of tithe that healed you, you were healed in Christ 2000 years ago, you just didn't know your rights and inheritance in Christ. So, your mind was trained to believe it your tithe paying that healed you. There are millions of people who still pay tithe and die sick.
New International Version For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
That word "salvation" in the Greek means, complete wholeness in Christ. Stop believing you did something for God to heal you, God healed you not because of your works but because you're in Christ. That's Rhema. It comes by revelation. |

Alwaystrue: Hello Bidam, Been a while. I hope you are fine and family too.
Thanks for the above as it is so apt. Just this weekend, i was speaking to some people on the word of God and i am so glad the people had a better understanding now. Things that people called old testament now understand the spirit of it. The truth of all God's words and commands remain the same but depends on how we apply it today and i gave examples like the sacrifice that must keep burning on the altar that means our lives should remain a constant burning unto God today. God gave me the idea of the proverbs the elders use that people give contemporary meanings today and they lit up in understanding.
When Paul said the law is spiritual he could not have said it better. So many treasures hidden in His word. So awesome.
@dein77, happy baby dedication of your lovely baby girl to the most High. It is not farfetched on how today's child dedication is applicable for those who chose to do it. Thanks dear. The dedication went wella. Good morning. |

Goshen360: People like Olaadegbu, Bidam, Image123, Alwaystrue and other law teachers on this forum are part of the Babylon church (confused church) and they will stand for Grace on one side and the next time, they go to the law, promoting obedience to the law instead of obedience to the faith (of the Son of God). Ola is the worst of them all. I already know all the scriptures they will quote to advocate keeping the law but ask them, do they keep the "whole" law? They will tell you, some are sacrificial and some ceremonial etc. But nowhere does scripture made such distinction - the law is a whole package. As a matter of fact, the 10 commandment is part of the whole that is abolished. GBAM! |

I thank God I have the Bible, not a pastor, for a guide. This tithe matter is clear in Scriptures. People are simply too lazy to search the Scriptures. As long as Jesus, Apostle Paul, Peter, James and others didn't advocate tithing, I place no value on it.
Whoever wants to continue paying their tithes can continue to do. But let them know there is no curse on whoever doesn't tithe. Tithe isn't among the weightier matters of the law.
Today na Sunday. I rest my case. |

greatgod2012: Question........ Why do some pastors' kids misbehave?
Answers........ 1. People expect too much from them, forgetting that they are also humans, even the pastors themselves errs, just to confirm their human nature, not to talk of their kids.
2. Very many pastors rarely have time for their kids, they get away with the wealth, fame and connections attached to their work/ministry, hence, their children's rebellious actions.
3. Some pastors think that it is automatic for their kids to always be well-behaved because they are pastor's kids, forgetting that, God will not do that which we are supposed to do, it is our duty to train our kids in the way of the Lord, any parents who expect God to do that for him is living in illusion and will definately reap his negligence just like Eli the prophet in the bible. May God help us all. I go with this post. |

Please, you are enjoined to rejoice with my family and I as we officially present our baby today before the Lord Almighty, the Giver of all good things.
We acknowledge the Creator of all things. The arrival of our daughter has further strengthened our love and affection as a couple.
She has come due to our efforts alone. No woman becomes a mother without divine favour, neither can any man be a father without Providence. Today, we are taking her, for the first time, to meet with the people of God.
Pls thank Him on all our behalf.
Your hearty congratulatory messages and prayers are highly welcomed.
Her name is Tarila Diepreye Sophia!
