Teespice:
if a woman can forgive a man for committing adultery, why can't a man forgive his wife if she does same.

that's how I see it.
A very fair opinion. However, we don't see it that way. It's not that easy with us.
FamilyHusbands: Can You Forgive Your Wife After She Confessed She Committed Adultery? by dein77(op): 7:23pm On Nov 15, 2014
There can hardly be a greater disaster in a marriage than that of infidelity, especially when the woman is the culprit (the world's skewed against the women folks).

For some guys, this signals the eventual END of the marriage union.

For me too, that's the END.

I no get that kind grace to let go oooo! !!

I pray it doesn't happen to us. But it happens sometimes.

What shall be your reactions, husbands?

Christianity EtcRe: Why Are Pastostors Children Mostly Bad? by dein77(m): 4:40pm On Nov 15, 2014
Most pastors seem too busy shepherding outside that they have little or no time to shepherd their kids.

Also most Christian parents tend to believe their children will be naturally born again since they, the parents, are born again. Parents hardly ensure their children are really born again.

Sometimes, society heaps too much expectations on the children of pastors.
FamilyRe: Mothers/christians, Is Child Dedication Party Compulsory? by dein77(m): 4:21pm On Nov 15, 2014
It's one of those ceremonies we still keep to fulfil righteousness.

There's nothing wrong in taking one's kid to the church for dedication; I'm only against the financial mess couples get themselves into.

Well, I didn't actually marry to avoid fornication. I married because I saw someone who who will complete me.

Marriage cannot prevent a person from sexual immorality. Period.

There are just so many reasons why I want to marry:
1) To be with my best friend and love of my life forever... the distance is killing, want to wake up everyday beside him smiley smiley kiss kiss kiss
2) To have lovely kids and watch them growsmiley kiss kiss
3) God says we should go and multiply, so I gat to multiply, afterall if my mum didn't marry, there wouldn't be 'me'... cool cool
4) To conquer the sin of fornication forever embarassed embarassed
5) To have a lovely family where I will invest my resources....

I disagree.....Marriage isn't enough to keep one from sexual immorality.....

I agree with the rest.

FamilyRe: Why Marry? by dein77(m): 12:18pm On Nov 15, 2014
Most of us marry because our society requires we do so. Also, for me, the desire to have a spouse is inborn so that once it's time, the mind is geared towards it.

But i feel people should marry if the achievement of their goals and visions demand a partner. In other words, marry if the person is going to assist you lead a fulfilled life.

PastorKun:
@OP
Whilst there is nothing wrong with the material prosperity of a believer, make no mistake about it the doctrine that it is part of the salvation package is absolutely false. It is a man made concoction used to 'sweeten' the gospel to itchy ears. The gospel is strictly about the salvation of our souls and nothing to do what0 so ever with material prosperity.
@ bolded;

I politely disagree with you. Prosperity is part of the package of salvation, sire
Christianity EtcMy Grouse With The Prosperity Gospel! by dein77(op): 9:31am On Nov 15, 2014
For all intent and purposes, I do not condemn the prosperity Gospel; prosperity is part of the salvation package given to us by Christ as we accept His gift of righteousness and eternal life. I agree we cannot really achieve much in life and ministry without money, but the undue emphasis on prosperity to the detriment of integrity, righteousness and purity of heart and life is really depressing me. Its being many months since I heard a message on the Second Advent of Christ. Its all money, money, and more money!

Wherever you turn, its all 'you shall make it', 'you shall prosper', 'if you can think it, you can make it etc'......In fact, our prosperity preachers are more or less, motivational speakers. This emphasis is wrong. I recently saw a thread here how Living Faith preached about salvation in one of its services. Really absurd!

Obviously, we are getting richer, but are becoming poorer in morals. Yes, we are getting fatter pockets, but we are getting leaner in integrity and uprightness. We need to start turning this tides. We must realize that righteousness, holiness and integrity must be a part of a life that desires prosperity truly given by God.

Don’t accept motivational messages that preach prosperity as a reward for giving without emphasizing holiness and righteousness. What is more, the message does not work. Look at the suffering and financial struggles of the average Nigerian Christian. The evidence is overwhelming. If anything, its the senior pastors that are getting ridiculously richer; the average church member is poor, miserable and angry.

We must insist that our pastors and elders preach a balanced prosperity gospel; a Gospel where righteousness and prosperity are mixed in the pulpit.

The prosperity Gospel doesn't bring prosperity to all. It only brings more money to the coffers of the founders of these ministries.......

I agree. Continuously giving to persons who aren't willing to do anything productive is simply to encourage them being lazy.

That won't stop from assisting people who are genuinely in need..

A lot of my family members were worried about my choice, but they later supported me, and that made it easier for us to get married.
FamilyMy Wife: Love And Crutches! by dein77(op):
Today, we are happily married, and blessed with two beautiful kids. But the journey was a daring one at the beginning.

I had gone to study in her school's library. My company had sent me there for a 6-month intensive professional program. We were allowed to use the institution's library.

On this beautiful day, while in the library, I saw her. She was on two crutches! I approached her; we exchanged pleasantries, and became friends. She was involved in a serious accident. She had a broken bone in one of her legs. The accident occurred about 7 months before we met.

I encouraged and uplifted her. She became a prayer point. She is indeed really beautiful. This was a trying time, and by an act of Providence I became a shoulder she could lie on. A few weeks later, we arranged for a surgery, and had a metal inserted in the leg. The metal was removed more than 3 years after our marriage.

By this time, we have become very close. She met most of the physical and character traits I desire in a wife. We always met and discussed. We were in some kind of an unclear relationship. Her suitors, due to accident, had fled. I was more than happy to step in at this time.

I left that state after I finished my course and moved back to PH. She was always in my mind. My this time, I had developed strong feelings for her. I had concluded I was going to propose to her. I was ready to do so with her moving with crutches. The communications increased. Visafone was very cheap back then! The more the communication, the stronger the feelings.

I went back after 8 months and proposed marriage to her. She accepted immediately! That was a great day for me. Later, shes started walking without the crutches, though she was leaping. A few months later, we got married, and it's being a great home.

Today, the crutches are no more. A little sacrifice has paid off. Probably, the crutches were there to hinder me but I wasn't deterred. Love always conquers all hurdles.

We shouldn't give up on love due to challenges. Love wins at last.

This is my super story!

FamilyRe: Must A Successful Woman Be Married? by dein77(m): 9:16am On Nov 11, 2014
These lies are very common in Africa. But i thank God we're gradually doing away with them.

Truth, one doesn't need to get married to be seen as successful and worthy of respect. It's not compulsory everyone should marry.

But Africans have tied a woman's success to her being married.

I wonder when we will allow people live their lives their own way. .....
