It's all by revelation. Once you get it, your life never remains the same. The law was only our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, so we could be justified by faith. Now that we have faith, the law becomes obsolete and unnecessary.

Don't know why we want to prove we are more righteous than Christ!

Bro, unless one's eyes opened via revelation, one can't grasp the massive gulf that exists between the two worlds of the law and grace.

I don't keep ONE law; I only live as led by the Holy Spirit. Christ has fulfilled the physical laws and ordinances.

It's not standing because the Devil has deceived the world into thinking it doesn't matter. Sabbath worship is the most important law of God. It was instituted from creation to eternity.

Well, I haven't benefited that much from this section. I started frequenting my visits here only a few weeks or months ago. But there are some vital lessons I have learned.

The tithe issue, which I had always suspected as being extraneous, was thoroughly dealt with here by fellow thinking and probing Christians. How tithe was smuggled into our current dispensation remains a world wonder. Brethren presented their claims with Scriptures hitherto unknown to me, thereby prompting me to search the Bible more.

Apart from this, it's being war between the Christians and the Atheists. These two groups are always at loggerheads, and this acrimony is negatively impacting a section that should otherwise direct men to Christ.

The Atheists arguments are sometimes even gaining grounds against the Christians. The terrible conditions of the religious Nigerians have further strengthened the Atheists belief in the nonexistence of God.

And it's as if more people are coming closer to Atheism than Christianity. This is purely due to the insulting, impudent, impatient and hollow behaviours of most Christians, I mean, churchgoers.

For us to reverse this tide, we must show love and understanding to the Atheists; humbly give up on them.when we can't stand their often superior arguments; we should study our Bibles more, and most importantly, convert our frequent church visits to improve the morality of our nation. If we can't transform our society despite all our religion, then it's vain.

Also,I'm also disillusioned with the whole religion scam. I would have also quit it if not for the personal revelations Christ has given me.

Lastly, our GOS and other big pastors are not helping matters. Their departure from the path of humility has made it more difficult for us to gain say our opponents.

I'm a Christian, but I must admit, on a general scale, we haven't moved any forward.

What else could be responsible for the ills and backwardness in our society?

Even if it was sanctioned by Islam or Christianity, government has no business sponsoring it. Period.

I know religion is a sacred issue to Nigerians.

Many people are ready to attack and vilify you for having a liberal mind towards the subject of religion. That wont deter me shaaaa!

I believe the FG should quit spending billions of naira every year for some folks to observe their religious rites in either Israel or Mecca.

I have no issue with individuals sponsoring themselves to wherever they want, but I oppose FG doing that.

Besides, there is no tangible improvement in our morality since we started this religious tourism.

Again, these white folks in Israel and Mecca have seen us as yearly revenues.

I have the Bible. I do not need to visit Israel to be more Christian, let alone being sponsored by the FG to do so.

This is my opinion.

Nigerians will NEVER come to this point because we are used to sufferings and molestation. As a matter of fact, we have developed tortoise skin for sufferings.

Two cases to confirm this:

1. The Subsidy protest of January, 2012. I thought it was going to last longer and that Nigerians were at last ready to challenge bad government for a period long enough to get decent results. For where! Just after 9 days, we backed down, thereby settling for worse.....

2. The Immigration Examination Disaster of 2014......The crowd that gathered at the Abuja National Stadium was too mammoth to force some positive changes, after some youths were killed in what was an apparent management failure at crowd control. For where! We went back to our homes, and today, the likes of Abba Moro are still enjoying their offices.....

No nation ever got good governance on a platter of gold. Salvation is free but Christ paid it with His very life. The forces of corruption and irresponsible government ONLY bows to resilient and well coordinated, peaceful demonstrations.

We will NEVER get good governance free...........

I agree so far with what the brethren said about the good news and I'll like us to explore this gospel in depth. First, my contribution is, the good news in the early church is what was preached by the Apostles and people who heard it had to investigate it because THE PEOPLE WHO HEARD IT THOUGHT IT WAS TOO GOOD NEWS TO BE TRUE GOSPEL because it's not what they are used to hearing.

So, in this thread, we'll be exploring the TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE good news.

2. The revelation of the good news is mostly buried in the book of Romans. If a Christian hasn't study the book of Romans, I personally doubt such understanding the good news. Just my personal opinion though.

I cant agree more. After a prayerful and painstaking study of this wonderful Epistle, my life never remained the same. This was after being a Christian for more than a decade. The Epistle of Romans is a must-read for every Christian.

when you go around shouting IF YOU DONT REPENT, YOU WILL GO TO HELL, you are technically correct, but you are NOT preaching the Good News; you are preaching another gospel.....

Pro 27.5 Open rebuke is better than secret love.............The open rebuke to a person's fault( sin) is done out of love, which thereafter covers the person's wrongdoing.

It doesn't mean publicly correcting a person with a condescending view.

Yes. He had the right to demand our love and loyalty, having first displayed such lofty and selfless character Himself.

I believe each spouse should concentrate MORE on their responsibility than on the responsibility of their partner. What I stated in my first comment has really worked for me; I endeavor to love my wife: that's my duty. Now, it may not be the case with all women, but it has worked for me. According to Ephe 5:25-29'

The duty of husbands is to love their wives. The love of Christ to the church is an example, which is sincere, pure, and constant, notwithstanding her failures. Now this may not be easy, but that's exactly what Apostle Paul meant in that passage.
