Simplyleo: When it was reported that the stock market closed for the year with an aggregate loss of about 20b, shildren of 8, anger and perdition literally ate Buhari and Tinubu raw for being responsible.
Now that the same NSE has been named the best-performing stock market among 93 equity indexes, watch how same unstable elements make a very sharp U-turn relieving Buhari and Tinubu of responsibility for such good performance.
In the case, the reason for such performance is investors' efforts, not Buhari and Tinubu.
Na only Baba God sabi how their brains dey accommodate such clear conflict of ideology. But they are already saying that the performance has not positively affected their lives in any way and when you ask if they invested in the market, the matter go turn into look me I look you... |

NSE ranked world’s best-performing stock market in 2020
The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) has been named the best-performing stock market among the 93 equity indexes being tracked by Bloomberg across the world.
The all-share index which opened at 38,800.01 inched higher by 310.16 points or 0.80 percent to cross the 39,000 mark and close at 39,110.17.
Also, the market capitalisation rose by N167 billion to close at N20.446 trillion compared with N20.279 trillion achieved on Thursday before the Christmas and Boxing Day holidays.
Year-to-date returns are currently at 45.7 percent; the best annual return since 2013.
Analysis by TheCable also showed that investors had booked N7.31 trillion in gains as of December 22, 2020.
The rally was also supported by the dovish stand of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The apex bank cut the base monetary policy rate by 200 basis points to 11. 5 percent, in order to boost lending, discourage savings and drive growth to counter the pandemic effect on the economy, while also keeping rates low in the fixed income market.
Excess liquidity (created by CBN’s OMO restriction), the hunt for double-digit yields and depressed pricing, helped to rekindle local interests in the equities market in 2020.
The uptrend recorded at the end of trading on Tuesday was driven by price appreciation in medium and large capitalised stocks amongst which are; BUA Cement, Zenith Bank, Access Bank, NPF Microfinance Bank and NEM Insurance.
A breakdown of the price movement chart shows that Jaiz Bank dominated the gainers’ chart in percentage terms with 10 percent, to close at 66k per share.
NEM Insurance followed with 9.56 per cent to close at N1.49, while Lasaco Assurance rose by 8.82 per cent to close at 37k per share.
NPF Microfinance Bank improved by 8.39 per cent to close at N1.68, while Japaul Gold and Ventures appreciated by 8.33 per cent to close at 52k per share.
Conversely, NCR led the laggards’ chart in percentage terms, losing 9.68 per cent to close at N1.96 per share.
FTN Cocoa Processors trailed with 8.99 per cent to close at 81k, while Trans-Nationwide Express shed 8.86 per cent to close at 72k per share.
Chams shed 8.70 per cent to close at 21k, while AXA Mansard Insurance lost 4.76 per cent to close at N1 per share.
Also, the total volume of shares traded rose by 85.4 percent with an exchange of 722.57 million shares worth N4.38 billion in 5,042 deals.
This was in contrast with a total of 381.72 million shares valued at N7.97 billion exchanged in 2,925 deals on Thursday.
Transactions in the shares of AIICO Insurance topped the activity chart with 273.13 million shares valued at N326.09 million.
Oando followed with 81.45 million shares worth N323.33 million, while FBN Holdings traded 41.09 million shares valued at N294.21 million.
Access Bank traded 40.14 million shares worth N353.27 million, while Champion Breweries transacted 36.33 million shares worth N30.16 million. https://www.thecable.ng/nse-ranked-2020-best-performing-stock-market/amp

sonofElElyon: 1. This allegation of obasanjo being ibo has never been in the public space and no one has ever pointedly accused him of being ibo till now. 2. How then was he supposed to have submitted himself for DNA test when no one ever demanded it? 3. The man you claimed was his father (don't know where you got your information but it should be taken with a pint of salt since it has never been so publicly alleged) never claimed obasanjo as his son in his lifetime and even after his death, no member of the man's family has claimed that obasanjo is their own. 4. I find it difficult to believe that the family of the supposed father of obasanjo would refuse to claim "their own" especially when he has become one of the greatest Nigerians to have ever lived and therefore should be a source of pride and joy to his supposed father's family! 5. Kindly provide the source of your information and further evidence to the effect that obasanjo's father is the man you mentioned 6. He who asserts must prove! OBJ cannot deny that he has heard of this news before. He has neither come out to deny or accept it. A DNA confirmation will clear the rumour. |

Joseph Okwudili Onyejekwe . Obi of Onitsha (1962–1970).
Only a DNA test can confirm if this is true or not.
If it is indeed false, I am sure OBJ would have submitted himself to a DNA test. |

Politics › Lekki Shooting:cnn Carried Out Hatchet Job On The Army–international Journalists by deji17(op): 6:46pm On Nov 25, 2020 |
Lekki Shooting: CNN carried out a hatchet job on the Army – International journalists25th November 2020 . Anti-Fake News activists slam CNN documentary on Lekki shootings The report by Cable News Network (CNN) on the shooting at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos was a “poor” hatchet job targeted at the Nigerian Army, the International Institute for Investigative Journalism (IIIJ) has said. In an electronic statement signed by special rapporteur, Francois Deburoiche, on Wednesday, the IIIJ said it came to this conclusion following a careful investigation on the events that led to the escalation of violence at the toll gate. After forensic analysis of CNN’s report, the International Institute for Investigative Journalism noted that there were some missing details in the American television channel’s piece. According to the institute, the report was carried out in poor taste, lacking professionalism and objectivity. It added that the claim of use of live bullets and testimonies of victims were all tales. The institute, however, advised the television channel to retract and admit error in the documentary. Read the full statement below: The International Institute for Investigative Journalism is issuing this press statement with the best of intents after a careful investigation on the events that led to the escalation of violence at the Lekki Tollgate in Lagos Nigeria during the EndSARS protest. A team of investigative journalists with extensive experience in conflict situation interrogated the various claims made by the American Cable News Network in its report on the Lekki Shootings and came up with a comprehensive analysis that found gaps that were not filled in the CNN documentation of the events at the Lekki Tollgate in Lagos Nigeria. Our statement: The CNN documentary on the EndSARS protest in Nigeria was released to the general public with lots of inaccuracies. These accuracies were detected after an extensive forensic investigation by the International Institute for Investigative Journalism. It is thus our opinion that the report was carried out in the poor taste, lacking in professionalism and objectivity. This is a great betrayal on journalism by the CNN, which indeed violated the known tenets of journalism. The videos and images used in the CNN report were not subjected to adequate scrutiny. Consequently, it lacked credibility for use by an organization of repute such as the CNN. This fact was also buttressed by the fact that the CNN report was very hasty in its conclusion by indicting the Nigerian Army of culpability in the events at the Lekki Tollgate. Our position remains that the CNN erred substantially in its report that was highly misleading to the general public in Nigeria and other parts of the world. The documentary also failed woefully to highlight the events that led to the reign of violence in parts of Lagos state but instead rehashed the issues under different subheadings with minimal evidence that indicts the Nigerian Army of wrongdoing at the Lekki Tollgate. The International Institute for Investigative Journalism concludes that the CNN documentary was prejudiced in its analysis as well as presentation which fall nothing short of a poor hatchet job with the undeniable intent to discredit the Nigerian Army operation at the Lekki Tollgate in Lagos Nigeria. The analysis by CNN in the documentary was hasty in its categorization with regards to the use of live bullets by soldiers at the Lekki Tollgate. The report attempted to portray the use of excessive force by soldiers, while the accompanying videos and images did not depict such. The credibility of those interviewed in the documentary was also suspect with the choice of words and the facial and body expressions of the victims as well as their relatives. Thus much was revealed by forensic analysis as the emotions portrayed didn’t match their words. Conclusion: The International Institute for Investigative Journalism is of the considered opinion that the CNN carried out a hatchet job that is targeted at the Nigerian Army institution. We as a result of this classify the CNN documentary as highly misleading and with the capacity to cause disquiet in Nigeria. The CNN must retract and admit error in submission in its documentary on the Lekki Tollgate shootings. The International Institute for Investigative Journalism faults the CNN documentary in all ramifications. https://www.sunnewsonline.com/lekki-shooting-cnn-carried-out-a-hatchet-job-on-the-army-international-journalists/

walexbiz: So with your warped mentality you think the best we can get from the south west is tinubu. Now I know how badly Buhari has messed up this country, if a grown up man like you has concluded that without the pittance from Tinubu you cannot survive clearly show how much poverty is in the land. Lagos State with a population of over 20million and you decided nobody can do it better than him or his annointed clearly shows how fundamentally flaw your thinking is. A falana would do better than the present crop of idiot who besiege power at all cost also Sowore too won't do badly if those two are not enough then I think your case is beyond redemption The only thing you do is insult yourself. You cannot hold a rational discussion. Who is stopping Falana or Sowore from contesting? Tinubu has contested Senatorial and Governorship election and won. Tinubu has supported candidates that has won various elective position up to the post of the President. Do you think your Sowore or Falana can win a councillor position or LG Chairman/ Governorship election? Who or what is stopping them from contesting? Is it by abusing people on a faceless forum like this that will get them elected? |

Tinubu served for 8years what are his legacies. You cannot compare Tinubu to The likes of Jakande and Marwa even though he was a military administrator to your paymaster. The only thing Tinubu would be remembered for are the street urchins (Agberos) we have all around terrorising Lagos and its environs. This is why people fail exams. Jakande is an old man while Marwa is an ex military man. Do you want to bring any of them back as Governor? The shameless Ikpeazu pockets the billlions he gets as allocations despite contributing nothing to government coffers, still collects security votes all with nothing to show in Abia State.
