When I moved to Metro 97.7FM in 2013, I suggested a show idea to my Head of Presentation Tolu Stevens and she liked it. The first thing she said was, 'wait, I know someone that you can work with on this'. Lo and behold, Rexx Pincode Okiche appeared (he's always the tallest in the room so it was an appearance �). The global champion of African culture and tradition, His Royal Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II has received the prestigious awards of Trek Africa Newspaper.

The highly-sought leader of the black race who was billed to deliver the keynote at the Trek Africa Real Estate Conference & Expo 2020 tagged: "Make Nigeria Livable: Building Safe and Secure Homes" held on Friday 20th March at Oriental Hotels, Lagos couldn't attend as a result of the lockdown. It should be noted that the lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic started a day after the industry event.

The Kabiyesi of the Yoruba nation who has been a leading light, championing youth empowerments and development advocacy was presented the two prestigious awards and the event brochures by Real Estate Reporters and Trek Africa Newspaper on Friday 5th June, 2020 at the royal palace in 'the Source' Ile-Ife.

Receiving the awards from Oki Samson, the Publisher of the fast-rising news weekly, Oba Ogunwusi praised the efforts of the youthful media team at Trek Africa Newspaper for putting Africa on the spotlight. Describing the Afrocentric nature of the media organization as engaging and educating, he advised that the good work should not stall.

He is also a political activist, best known for kneeling during the national anthem in protest of police brutality and racial inequality in the United States.

He gave up his professional career (at its peak) to openly support the 'Black Lives Matter' movement by kneeling on a knee during the American national anthem before games.

He was threatened with contract termination/sack and later fired (at his career peak) yet he continued kneeling and promoting the movement while he never stopped training.

Many clubs rejected him and still rejects giving him a contract but guess what? He keeps training, he keeps supporting the black lives movement and even extended his charity to Africa through funds raised for the poor in different African countries.

Initially when he started his movement, many told him that he was a fool, that his actions were self sabotaging, some blacks condemned him, accused him of clout chasing and made fun of him while others supported him.

The presidency/Trump made fun of him and condemned him too.

Today, what he fought for and is still fighting for by throwing his career away in sacrifice is now keeping the world awake, everyone is now taking a knee.

When you hear his name just put some respect on it, he is one of those who do more than talk and tweet. Colin Kaepernick the great.
