Try to understand what the dude was trying to say, first he was saying that becoming successful in life is not hard work, two that its based on destiny that if it was based on hardwork he would be broke. He figured he's purpose in life and knew that little hard work will lead to success.

He prolly over inflated his style. He worked, but for himself. That is what I get from his writeup.
He just thinks being hardworking means slaving away under the sun for someone else. Hence he thinks working for no man But himself means less work meaning more free time meaning lazy life style.
He doesn't understand the fact that using your brain to succeed is also hard work. Though not physical. Not labour, but the brain is put to work.

But he practiced. He does not just come up with the final result. He takes all the unique notes and blends them in and creates something unique. He practiced what he felt he knew. He was talented in the art and practiced the unique ideas he had.He was not just sleeping all day. If he slept all day, he wouldn't even play music. He wouldn't be successful in his art. Sleep or laziness would keep him in obscurity

No one succeeds without practising what he is successful in. You can't say you are a successful banker without practicing banking, you can't by a successful mom/dad without practicing, you can't be good in maths without practicing.
Secrete of success is knowing what people would pay to own and knowing how to make them own it easier
