misterh: I think the location of Spider doesn't do enough justice to its beauty. I remember the first time i entered Spider, i literally got lost. I spent more than 30 mins trying to find the exit.
Yeah, it is one maze of a building plus it is somewhat close to the jungle and far from main arena.
EducationRe: Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife (Pictures) by delors(m):
Thanks okija. U are the man! I thought u only took pictures of shrines but u just blew my mind.
I can see faculties of Law, Admin, Health sciences, Arts theatre etc in there. Great work. Some other majestic buildings too would have blown your mind like the Amphitheatre. You should have checked out Spider building, Ajose theatre, Archy studio and co. If u checked Admin basement you would have fallen in love with the architecture as well.
Great work pal.

Well, arrest him...punish him (jail)...then later employ him. For him to be able to do all that shows the kinda guy he could be if given the right environment and incentive. He is a genius.

Walphem: I understand the point of street light, LCC and Lagos state govt have no excuse to give on that, but with the speed limit; it is boldly attached along the express way and mostly it states 50km/hr. But trust my people they go even reach 140km/hr
Yeah, that's one other huge problem we face. Flagrant disregard for rules/regulation/law.
Nairaland GeneralRe: High Death Rate On The Lekki Expressway by delors(m): 12:28pm On Aug 29, 2013
I like the idea of speed limits, but when you think of the enforcers, and lack of technology like speed guns, you start to get discouraged a bit.

If a leader is born out of nairaland some day, I hope they will remember all these posts and implement the big and the little things that would make our society better. The devil as they say, is in the details.
True, Master. Sometimes I just feel these policy guys know what to do and what they should have done but because of the level of education and exposure in Nigeria, they take us for granted. fashola knows the law with reads to rules and stuffs but only uses them to his advantage or to cover his errors.
Nairaland GeneralRe: High Death Rate On The Lekki Expressway by delors(m):
This road shouldnt be an expressway! if there are bus stops, then it not a highway...it is a commercial way; that is why there are bus stops.
No 2, how in heaven will the lights depend on PHCN when we know the capacity and 'efficiency' of PHCN? Street lights that I know of now, are dependent on solar power...and a country like Nigeria where sun (heat) isnt a problem should power street lights using solar power. With the tolls they collect this shouldnt be hard. This is a big scam and absolute disregard for human safety.
If there must be pedestrian bridges, then it must be at every bus stop or at every 250m. More so, speed limit should be set and displayed on the expressway to caution reckless drivers, while pedestrians should be advised to use the pedestrian bridges if available.
When are we gonna learn?

Check the base of your page, you'd find 'LOCAL SEARCH'. I can be it is new and in response to this topic. More should be done. And due acknowledgement necessary. CrimeRe: Nigerian Drug Dealer Escapes From Malaysian Prison by delors(m): 1:41am On Aug 28, 2013
360command: From an investigator point of view, the fugitive would want to leave the tiger nations territory and any friend of the tiger nations including China.
The fugitive would want to contact his brothers, sisters and friends who can support him leave the country. Its good thing for the fugitive to have left malaysia as the country is small for him to hide. On the other hand, Thailand is big when compared to malaysia and he can contact 1 or 2 friends for support. But not withstanding, the fugitive cannot fly out of thailand as he is still in a wanted zone. Going to Laos, burma, China ,Cambodia is out of the way. If the fugitive can reach Vietnam,he is still not safe as the police there are the worst of the worst. Going to Philippines would do the fugitive good , as he is in a country where human right can be tolerated to some certain aspect. There he can proceed to the Nigerian embassy in Philippines and obtain a new passport by declaring his old passport missing but he would need to get clearance from filipino police. His name would be checked, no criminal record will be found. He gets is clearance, go to Nigerian embassy, he is given a new passport so as he can fly to Nigeria.
So na your geography teacher been teach u all this thing ba? Correct! he must have taught you from personal experience

No 1...I doubt the authencity of this story. if there was a whale (life or dead) on any Lagos beach, the news would be online right now.

Anyway, not my biz.

Meanwhile, a blue whale died and was washed up the shore in Australia...Guess what happened? Anyone remember the Edo boy who hitch-hiked from Edo to lagos in an airplane tyre compartment? The News was picked up by Toronto news and guess what the talking point was: so the young boy survived in that altitude (breathing only thin air - basically nitrogen), this might be a new research angle in science...

Christianity EtcRe: COZA Members Ask Pastor Biodun To Tell The Truth About The Sex Scandal by delors(m): 7:06pm On Aug 27, 2013
jigawatts: I watched the pastor's response online on Sunday, Its really poor when so called "Religious Leaders" are asked basic questions and they decide to use "GOD" in their response. These guys are human beings for heavens sake, they can make mistakes, they are not perfect.

Its the way you guys treat these "Religious Leaders" that make dem ride u pple ... it makes dem feel like they are UNANSWERABLE to anybody.

He come talk say 'God said we should keep quiet' ...... and the congregation shouted 'Halleluyaaaaaaa'.......... grin grin

"Robust Response" .... A very political phrase If I must say wink
God bless you! I wrote that this guy would still mount the podium and bamboozle the gullible congregation with his sweet talks. the guy is a smooth talker. And imagine, they all screamed Halleluyah? OMG! The Halleluyah I know is meant to be chanted in praise of God and godliness...not in annoying response to deceit, arrogance and conspiracy.
I see myself walking out of the church if I was there (definitely after causing a scene)...he will surely get the message.
Guilty or not, that guy should be suspended from the podium pending investigation to clear his name (or otherwise). It is the most logical thing to do. This is taking the faith, trust and followership of the congregation and other believers for granted.
Christianity EtcRe: COZA Members Ask Pastor Biodun To Tell The Truth About The Sex Scandal by delors(m): 6:58pm On Aug 27, 2013
Ok, let no body judge the girl or the guy...but let there be an investigation into the allegation. We want to know the truth so that we may know whom our real 'role model' actually is (Ese or Ifa).
We call for an investigation. Nobody should be allowed to suffer in silence and nobody's image should be tarnished just like that. if investigation convicts Ifa, let him dance to the tune. If investigation exonerate Ese, let her breathe some fresh air.
Ese has given her own side of the story, let Ifatoyinbo do the same, no immunity abeg.
Foreign AffairsRe: Journalist Removes Her Top While Interviewing Mayor by delors(m): 3:23pm On Aug 27, 2013
I almost posted the video yesterday but work no gree. Ladies in vancouver were demonstrating their right to go topless as men do. Saying that there is no part of the law that forbids it. So, the leader, while interviewing the Mayor, decided to go topless. The mayor no know which side to face. cheesy Bad woman.
It pays to be a journalist in some parts of the world - canada, USA, France, Italy etc because most of their women demonstrations is exciting! grin Going topless to protest...sounds cool.
But nor try be journalist for iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Egypt...na end of discussion be that. Bomb blast!

The boy finally becomes a super star! Toronto news picked him up.
http://www.torontosun.com/2013/08/26/teen-hides-in-airplane-wheel-compartment-survives-flight

I am 100% sure, the next thing researchers would do now is to see how man can survive such high altitudes (thin air) for that lenth of time and the fact that his organs are still developing. The boy has given them a new angle to their research. I am pretty sure he would be invited or visited by Canadian scientists pretty soon to check his organs and learn about his survival tactics. That is creating something out of the ordinary...Our own researchers nor fit think go that angle lailai. Instead, my brother, Officer Osarowemohvi, the Airport officer, go handle the boy and say...'Kai! This boy go hear am today!Ehh! Basilona: Well spoken...but broz, it goes beyond berating your fellow countryment for the lack of innovation. Hope you're not on that same wagon Ooo!
No. Honestly I don't. If you checked some of my posts, I highly commend most of these young guys doing exploits, no matter how silly looking it. I have a young Nigerian (came to Canada when he was 10yo and now he is 18yo). his boy is a super guru. He thinks and creates apps like say na puff puff. My problem lies with the constant nagging that of most of our youngs who blame everything but themselves 'ah, na GEJ cause am', 'My neighbour na winch' 'job nor dey' 'money nor dey inside that idea' etc when actually, they arent making any efforts.
Somebody mentioned Alaba market and I laugh. I patronised that market for a very long tym, what those guys do is basically to disintegrate the electronics and recouple it...and they call that creativity. Even my 11 year old nephew can fix minor issues on his laptop. And not to even talk of the fact that those Alaba guys are out to extort you at all means while doing nothing exceptional. It makes one wonder what exactly is going on and what the problem is.
